Morning everyone. Welcome back Steph and Beavs.

Todays w/o power walk for 45mins
B- Kashi and blueberries
S- Yogurt and wheat germ
L- Bake Ziti and yellow squash
S-popcorn
D- tuna and salad
S-fruit

I was reading Tosca Reno's book and which brand of brown rice do you buy?

Welcome back Road Trippers!

Robin: I love Hi/Lo Xtreme but the only problem is you need a lot of space.
For brown rice I buy instant because I don't have enough time in the evenings to make regular. I know that most people wouldn't consider that clean, but I don't get home until 7 PM. I don't have the time to wait the 30 minutes for the regular rice to cook.

w/o power walk
b: oatmeal w/ skim milk & almonds
l: salad & sandwich
s: berries w/ yogurt, sugar snap peas
d: london broil w/ green beans

Morning Robin and all! Hope you had a good weekend. I missed checking in yesterday--I'll go read those posts in a minute.

I was doing so good all weekend. Then last night my sis and I went to the grocery store. We indulged in honey-roasted almonds and a chocolate cookie. It was great but I felt really mad at myself later. LIke 3 minutes later. Don't you hate that!? Today is a new day and I'm doing great.

late b - kashi and a banana
s - probably will skip as b was so late
l - 9-grain bread w/ eggs, red pepper, apple
s - probably peanuts and watermelon
d - roast, brown rice, and roasted carrots & onion.

TIP: make your rice with milk instead of water. It is so rich and yummy. It tastes like a dessert this way. Just sub the milk exactly for the water and prepare teh exact same way. DDs love it this way. I know it adds to the cals but I know I miss out on calcium (hate the taste of plain milk to drink) and this is a good way to sneak some in.

Workout will be Muscle Max, minus the abs since I did them last night.

Anxious to hear back from our RTers! I've loved looking at the pictures that were posted and the blog is great! I really hope I make it in next year.

Have a clean day!

Good morning ladies. Hope all the road trippers had fun.

I have to go back and catch up on reading.

Quick question. How many people buy organic meat?

Will post more later.

Everyine have a terrific Monday

I'm sooooo glad to be back! While everyone else is pining away for the RT again, I have to admit I am delighted to back home. As fun as it was, it was overwhelming and exhausting. I wish I had more time to chat with Steph, my fellow relay race party pooper ;-)

I won't tell you about my foods today. I'm starting to get a sore throat so salad is not quite as appealing as it normally would. I'm thinking comfort foods today. Sshhh! Don't tell!

Have a great day all!

Beavs, I'm sorry to hear about your throat. I won't tell about the comfort food.

The food at the RT was amazing. So many choices. I'm happy to say that with all the excitment, I didn't overindulge.

Bfast - WW eng muffin with almond butter and jelly, canteloupe
Lunch - PB&J on WW, carrots, strawberry and blueberries
Snack - nectarine
Dinner - not sure

No workout today. Rest from the weekend instead.

Thanks for the info on brown rice Trixie and Kate. I'm going to give it one more try. Latisha I've never tried organic meats, just veggies, which are very quality. I hope your sore throad feels better Beavs, try hot tea with honey. Welcome back Robin and Steph. Miss YA

Goodnight all

Good Afternoon,
Late posting today, sorry!
Did BM2 today
B-yogurt and bread
L-frozen yogurt
S-cheese stick
D-stroganoff

Latisha-I buy organic meats usually. I find the texture and flavor is much better, but it is pricey! I agree that organic veggies are worth it too.
Robin J-I use the brown rice form central market. I cook up a whole bunch and freeze it in one cup portion sizes so I have it to cook with.
beavs-Hope you feel better!!
Hope you RTers had fun!
Stomach is a little better today, thanks for the well wishes! I am really sick of yogurt.

Hi everyone, welcome back RTers!

I was sick all day yesterday, I've been doing so well with the clean eating that when I went out to eat on Saturday night & had just a little bit of "junk" food (tatertots!) it made me nauseous all the next day. That's one way to stay on the wagon, I guess.

Robin - The kittens names are Fabala, Hera & Thucydides (Thucy) :)

Kate - I do try to watch my soy content. I've heard studies about it impacting various aspects of womens' health - menopause, pregnancy, etc - but I don't think it's a huge worry of mine. I tend to just think that many vegetarians rely too much on premade, soy-heavy sources for protein intake and I prefer to vary it with fresh. Usually I'll limit myself to one soy product a day.

Anyway, here's today:

B - Steelcut oats
L - Soynut sandwich, chopped broccoli & carrots, cherries
D - Fresh black bean salad, fresh roasted corn on the cob, fruit smoothie
S - If needed, probably an apple

Workout is All Step + a new ab routine I found out of a very old issue of Muscle & Fitness Hers.

What do they say about soy. I was just getting ready to make a quiche with some BOCA. I rarely eat soy meats just once a week at the most.

HI all......busy busy busy. Looking for a new job and trying to get orgainzed will try to catch up later
