--------> clean & tidy FINALLY FRIDAY <--------

So for the past few weeks, I have been doing lots of cardio. Before RT, I was doing 30 mins cardio and 30 mins of one body part per day. My eating has not always been stellar, but based on what I know about my body, my weight should be coming down through the week when I am eating better, but it is not.

I have been having been PMing with someone about cardio periodization, which the presenter touched on briefly at the RT presentation. I am beginning to wonder if all this cardio, in combination with the heavy lifting, is making me hold on to this weight.

I am going away to a conference in a week and a half, and I am going to have to figure out what kinds of workouts I can do there. I know they will have cardio machines but not sure about anything for resistance. I am thinking of coming up with a total body routine I can do with the new bands that I got at RT this weekend. It's better than nothing, right??

Any thoughts on this?

Wow my vacation will be over on Tues. It's going tooo fast:eek:

Katie each persons' body is different and I know that a lot of cardio for me (I'm 43) does not work. Really my strict attention to what I eat works. Sometimes I over eat, even clean stuff. Like last night I think I had 4 pieces of BBQ chicken :confused:. I was busy talking and getting all the family gossip and did not pay attention. That maybe clean but the serving was too much. Maybe you need to tighten up on how much you are eating.

Really I only do cardio to keep my metabolism running high and I do weight training to keep my body tone.

I pray that I find some place to live down here soon. My investor called me yesterday to see how I'm doing. RIGHT he wants to see how soon I can get out his house. He can have that raggedy house. I can always live with my cousin until I find a place.
 
I definitely agree with what you are saying Robin -- my eating could always get better. I just often feel that it is about as good as it is ever gonna get. I make a conscious effort to eat my fruit and veggies and fewer carbs than I used to. My eating is not at all different now than it was a few months ago when I was losing or maintaining -- that is why this is so frustrating. I would say that my eating has been totally on point these past few days, but my body looks the same. For some people, it may take more than a few days but for me, a few days of cleaning it up once the week starts ALWAYS helps me recover from the weekend but right now it is not. This leads me to believe that it is something else.

I'm not really concerned with my weight -- I am happier with my body at about 2 to 3 pounds lighter, and that's really not much.

Sorry for the rambling. I just can't figure it out. I guess it cant hurt to try and see what happens.

Sorry I never made it back y'day - crazy wild day. Today won't be much better. I think we're all off track from me being gone!

I have not done a workout all week! I am feeling it too! I honestly don't expect that I'll be able to get one today. Tomorrow = back on track! I have an errand out of town this AM and this afternoon we have a funeral that will take us past dinnertime. (not a sad funeral though. Old lady/very timely)

Hope everyone is doing well today. And I read over the posts from y'day. Angie I hope your grandma comes thru okay. (((hugs))))

I saw my secretary y'day fro the 1st time in a couple weeks and she started laughing so hard when she saw me. She said I look like a belly with arms and legs! She meant it as a compliment but yikes! I'm gettin' big!

I had shredded wheat and 1/2 banana for b'fast. No clue on lunch yet. Maybe a grilled chicken salad via drive-thru. Dinner I have even less clue - "luncheon" (dinnereon) after the burial.. It's catered so hopefully something clean. I'll take a Clif Bar and an apple just in case.

Oh, I really want to WO today! WAH!

Katie, Sorry about the weight woes. If its any consolation I think you look great! Dont be ashamed of your eating today! It looks great!! As far as travelling...I love the band and wish Cathe would hurry up and make a travellers WO withit! I can do some things on my own but there's nothing like having our favorite drill sargeant commanding us!

Robin, Sorry about the BBQ chicken. It's super easy to lose track at gatherings. Good luck with the housing. I hope soemthing opens up soon.

better check on the indians! It's too quiet!

Katie, it can be hard to find what works for you. I'm still searching for waht works best for me. Eating really clean does the trick, of course, but I literally have to eat salads for every meal and not much else. Frankly, I don't like salad that much. So I guess I can be thin and miserable, or chubby and satisfied. Lucky for you - you look great just the way you are now! :)

Robin, I'm still sending househunting vibes your way - I hope you find something soon!

Kate, you ARE a belly with arms and legs - you're ADORABLE! :D I hope you get to work out soon. I hate the feeling of not having worked out for a while - blech!

This morning I did 4DS HIS/Chest/Back. My menu today is exceedingly boring, but here goes:
B - protein shake, banana and pb (that's peanut butter for you mind-in-the-gutter road trippers!)
S - Power Bar
L - veggie ham sandwich and cherry tomatoes
S - light string cheese and baby carrots
D - baked salmon and veggies

Oh, and thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my grandma - it's working! She is doing quite a bit better today. They've moved her out of the ICU - progress! So thank you all. :)
 
Kate my family saw the rt pic and they were impressed that you are still working out :D

I got the 411 on my cousin gym in the garage.Well it seems that the person who built this house about 4 years ago also wanted a gym for himself. He wanted to get into shape. So he must have sent 5 thousand on professional w/o equipment. I can tell , even the bar from the BB is about 30#:eek:. He w/o 1 time and dislocated his shoulder and never went back down into that gym. HAHA. I wish I can find a place with gym equipment and brand new.
 
Emily, NOthing ruins a good mood like losing a post! Ugh! Chubby?!!? YOU?!!?! No way, girlfriend! You look great! But I find I have to go salad-crazy too to lose weight/get cut. Glad I like 'em! Problem is I like a LOT of other foods too! Likethe zuke. muffines we made yesterday......mmmmmmm..drool.... Resisting today...so far! You're kickin' butt on the WOs and eats the last few days though! ^5 to you! Glad your grandma is pulling thru!

Robin, Tell your fam thansk for me! But it's not like I'm working out too hard. That's crazy on the gym. A few yrs back I bought a Smith machine for Mike and spent a couple grand on wall to wall mirrors for our WO room. He quit lifting the next month. GR! GLad he's back at it again, tho he hasn't done it since before our fam vaca. He better start again this weekend! I wanna see his 6-pack again!!!

I'm getting a ton of housework done. Leaving for our errand soon. Picking up the fam pics we had taken and going to this cute store that has baby furnishings. Hoping to get some things for her walls.
 
Good Morning Everyone!

I am so glad it is Friday. This weekend is catch up and clean max. I have started some cleaning projects around the house at the beginning of July and they are still not done. I have this weekend and next weekend, then things get a little busy and I won't have time. I also need to study for my certification. I started at the beginning of the month and I am only on Chapter 2. Yikes!

Katie, I know I have websites in the past that list exercises you can do with a band. Also when I got my bands, they sent me a poster will a list of exercises. In terms of your weight, a fat loss rotation and clean eating. I have not found the right balance of calories to loose weight but I am working on that.
Robin, hopefully you will live close enough to your cousin that you can use that gym equipment. Good luck house hunting today.
Kate, sorry you haven't gotten your workouts in this week. Hopefully you will catch up this week and get back on track. You did plenty of workouts last week so missing a few this week shouldn't hurt.
Emily, glad to hear your grandmother is doing better.

Speaking of cookies, my cube-mate here at work is giving me responsibility over the department cookie jar next week, since he's going to be out of the office. Uh oh. :confused: Being in close proximity with so many cookies every day simply can't be a good thing. Must.have.strength.

Robin, your cousin's garage gym sounds amazing! I hope you can find a house with a nice gym space!

Kate, you are too kind. Yes - the fact that I love other foods besides salad is indeed problematic. Shall we revisit the cookie issue I mentioned above??? LOL at you wanting to see Mike's 6-pack again. I'm sure he'll get back into it soon enough. I'm so proud of my DH (Matt) - he's been getting up early in the mornings to work out with me every day for 2 weeks. And he is NOT a morning person. (Well, maybe he is now!) He runs on the TM or works out with the Bowflex while I do my Cathes. And it's so unfair - he works out for 2 weeks and gets awesome biceps. I work out for 3 years and still have wimpy little non-biceps. What is the DEAL???

Colleen, I need to do some cleaning projects around my house too. Our garage is a certified disaster area. The State of Illinois has declared it as such - true story. ;) I'm sorry to hear you lost one of your coworkers... that seems to be happening a lot lately. My dad just lost his assistant to layoffs and he was really bummed about it.

Hey Everyone,

Back from lunch. We went out to drink but only 1 person got a drink. I don't like to drink at lunchtime unless I know I am going to get a nap. I resisted temptation and got a grilled chicken salad.

Emily, I was just thinking of walking over to candy bowl and getting something but a cookie sounds much better. Too bad we don't have a cookie jar.

I think Angie is at her grandmother's funeral so she probably won't post but I don't know about Steph.

Off to do some real work so I can leave. There is a rule that if we have our status reports done by 3 we can leave. I finished mine at 10, so shouldn't I be able to leave now?

Quick check in - workout today was 4DS upper body and I teach a cardio & core drill class tonight. Eats have been good! Woo Hoo! I have some banana spice cookies in the oven; I plan on eating one.....hopefully.;) Rest of menu is clean!

Emily, ^5 to your hubby! that's awesome! We go thru the same muscle issues. Mike responds so quick to lifitng. And he doesn't even clean up his eating! Maybe I should give up cardio, lift everyday, and eat whatever/whenever I want! Works for him!

Shirl, You are doing so great! I'm excited for you! Are you seeing some great changes in your body? I bet! I'm almost excited for my post-partum period so I can really kick some butt! Yeah, right! I say that now... But I lost the weight after Isabel pretty easily. I'm hoping for the same thing this time. Closer to 30 thi stime though...I'm sure it'll make a difference.

Back from the funeral and I am completely exhausted. We didn't go to the burial or luncheon. DH stayed at work for the funeral and it is so HOT outside. I didn't want to manage the girls by myself. Isabel fell asleep so I ended up carrying her for a while and I felt braxton-hicks coming on so we came home. Mike's bringing home pizza. I WILL keep portion-controlled and eat a big salad and watermelon first. I'm likely not working out tongiht. I am whooped. I'll practice some extra hypno-birthing to make up for it!

Colleen, I was surprised too that you are allowed to go out for drinks at lunchtime. Does the boss indulge too?
 
Technically, no we are not allowed to go out for drinks. 7 of us went out and only 1 person ordered a drink. She ended up leaving early because she wasn't feeling well. She wanted to leave earlier but she kept getting questions from coworkers.
