Clean Eating Challenge Check-In - November 1, 2005

Count me in! I really really want to clean up my eating. Here is what I have so far.


B-kashi go lean crunch
s-tortilla and a tablespoon of hummus
l-ham,onion and cheese sandwich with honey mustard and baked lays
s-about a tablespoon of chocolate chips(I know bad girl)
s-balance bar

Yay! I'm so happy this check-in is back for November. I won't be able to cheat on Thanksgiving because I'll be thinking of the Check-In. Okay so I didn't know I was going to find this wonderful surprise in the forums (thanks Shelley) so I probably didn't eat as clean (or as often) as I wanted to. So far, I've had organic cereal with a little bit of fiber one and soymilk for breakfast with a whole grain oats toast with cheese. I had a huge salad for lunch (could've been cleaner) and I drank more soymilk. I've been eating fresh fruit as a snack during the day (and uh oh I ate a couple of "non-clean" Table Water Crackers with cheese). I've been doing okay with the water, but I could've done better. And I'm ready to eat some dinner (it'll be clean don't worry). Oh and I forgot! Today I made the stupidest mistake ever and it was to wake up early to exercise (before breakfast i.e. on an empty stomach) before going to work. I kept missing steps and I was soooo sleepy so I had to take a break in the middle of the workout to eat some fruit (it felt like I was running a marathon and I needed an energy boost.) I've always known that I'm not a morning person, but I knew today I was going to be working late so I was not going to be able to workout in the afternoon or early evening as usual. Oh well. I can't say I won't do it again, because at least I got my exercise today and I didn't find an excuse. I think I needed to eat more protein today. I will have some fish for dinner though.

I'll do better tomorrow :). I'll try to post on this thread every day (at least for November). Gotta go now.

d-brown rice with tuna, mini trees and carrots
s-protein bar, 1 turkey dog and green beans

This is a great thread!!! TODAY I decided to clean up my act as I've been eating badly so it's actually a decent day to post my menu

B-l/4C cottage cheese with 1 cup raisin bran
S-Apple
L-1 cup yogurt with (another!) cup of cereal (it's the only way I get these two down my throat)
S-Apple
D-1 cup pasta (can't give it up) with one turkey meatball

I'm trying not to touch anything for the rest of the night. I think this thread is a great one!! It makes you accountable (hopefully!!)

i love this check in too Nancy! i started craving something sweet after dinner, so i made a pot of decaff and poured sugar free carmel creamer in it. YUMMY!

Not sure the coffee would do it for me. I was thinking more like dark chocolate kisses...

I do plan on keeping out of the kitchen. I think this thread may just make me do it too.:) :)
