Any thoughts on what would be the best of cathe's circuit training workouts to get? I want something advanced, but doable. Thanks for any input some of you experts can give me.

Hi,
I'm not quite sure exactly where you're at and what you prefer but I can make a few suggestions. If you're looking for really tough, but easy as far as no tricky choreography then I would suggest Boot Camp. It's one minute each of cardio, lower, upper and core work. I think it's something like eight cycles of this. If you're wanting a fun but slightly easier circuit then I would go with Cardio & Weights or Step, Jump & Pump. C & W is cardio on the step alternated with weight work and focus is on upper body. It's considered easier, but I love it so much and in order to make it slightly harder I just do it on an 8in. step and really heavy up on my weights. Step, Jump/Pump is also wonderful, it starts out with 20 min. or so on the step and then alternates around five minutes of hi/lo, with five minutes of weight work. I rarely use the workout as is since I feel it's just not enough weight work for me w/ upper body, but it comes with Step Blast on DVD and wow the possiblilities are absolutely endless! You can use a premix to create an awesome, challenging circuit. There's also High Step Challenge... but I'm going to stop here and wait until you let us know what type of focus in circuit work you're looking for :) Lisa

Circuit Max, on the same DVD as Cardio Kicks (a kickbox-flavored floor cardio workout). Circuit Max is the one I come back to at least once every two-three weeks.

Also, the Gauntlet on Cathe's Terminator DVD (a compilation disc of 3 workouts, with combined footage from several of her cardio and weight workouts from the Intensity Series), is awesome, and because it is so finely chaptered you can tailor it to what sort of circuit style you want for each workout.

Of Cathe's Circuit workouts, I have:

Step, Jump, & Pump
Body Max
Circuit Max
Power Circuit
Bootcamp
Terminator

My favorite is Step Jump & Pump and the Terminator workouts. SJP is more "doable" than the Terminators. I like Body Max a lot too, but it's 90 mins. long. I haven't done Power Circuit in a long time - it's not standing out in my mind. And I'm not that excited about Bootcamp either.

SJP or Circuit Max would get my vote for advanced but doable. I haven't done the High Step workouts, they might be good too.

My vote is for Boot Camp. When I first tried it, I wasn't too into it but I realized that I wasn't really giving it my all. Now I love it. And if you feel the need for a more intensity, you can do the Bonus Combo on the DVD. It's an awesome combination of Boot Camp and Muscle Endurance. It's a butt kicker! :D

I would also recommed High Step Training. It's wicked! }(

Thanks for the thoughts. I was looking for more difficult and challenging than the Firm. Also I just got fit tv so this will be a good way to see what videos I want to order from cathe. I can sample before buying. I had bootcamp and circuit max marked to buy. Thanks for all the help. Add any additional thoughts you might have. Monica:D

My favorites are Step Jump and Pump, The Gauntlet, and Bootamp. But I have to add that on the Step Blast/Step Jump and Pump DVD, there are other great circuit premixes so this is an awesome DVD to get just for that variety. The Gauntlet is probably my favorite though. Like AJock, Circuit Max is one of my all time favorites but it has less weight work then the others. (I think this was Cathe's first Circuit workout.)

I'd suggest High Step Challenge. I just did this last night and was dripping with sweat. I view this workout as a super-charged version of Bootcamp.

My current favorites of Cathe's circuit workouts are Boot Camp and High Step Training Advanced. Have fun buying new workouts! I love doing that.

Body Max is awesome! I think it is one of the hardest and longest ones. I haven't done the terminator, bootcamp or gauntlet yet.

I second everything you were givin! I strongly suggest Boot Camp for a buttkickin' but doable workout. No confusin choreography, just stickly cardio, upper body, lower body and core conditioning 8 differetn cycles. I love it:7

Good Luck,
