CIA - 2604

Well, I don't know what's gotten into me lately but I have recently "discovered" and appreciate Jari Love (S&L, GR1000, GRTTC) then I bought a bosu. Then I discovered the two new cardio's from Amy Bento. Now I bought a step and bosu workout called Double Cardio. I've previewd the All Body Cardio (the instructor is Sharon Money Twombly) and I think I will LOVE this workout. The WU looks like it has the most choreography but the rest of the cardio looks like intesne, athletic, cardio drills with flare though (not boring) alternated with intense core work and somewhat functional total body work using light weights. There are sections where they take the top off the step and use that for endurance training for the arms but I have a Reebok step and will use my med ball instead. The music was pumping also and the instructor was way cool. Not too animated, saying just enough to be encouraging and to cue the moves.

Right now I'm previewing the Bosu Blast with Seasun Zieger. First of all I love the music. This one will have a huge learning curve for me. Very choreographed and especially since I'm new to the bosu. I can't wait to learn it though and plan on practicing a little bit of it before or after each workout session. I love a new challenge.

I also bought Bosu Reactive Strength and Power with Gay Gasper. This one will be good for the balance, upper, and lower body work with the bosu, but the music is eh and not loud enough (which is good since the music is eh to down right horrible in most of the workout).

Anyway, I think the CIA workout will be fabulous cardio and a great way to continue to shake things up for me. NOW I need to come up with a new rotation to incorporate all my new workouts and some Cathe strength. I've been weak in the straight up strength department lately, but gosh darnnit, I'm having fun with my new discoveries!!!

I am shaking it up and having some FUN!!!

Angela,

I absolutely LOVE this DVD! Sharon, in All Body Cardio, is Greg Twombly's wife. You know Greg is the one who films all of Cathe's workouts.

This workout is truly all body cardio as it states. The WU is challenging from the very beginning. She is a fantastic instructor. I have one of her other CIA workouts from about 6 or 7 years ago. She packs alot in the 75 minute workout.

The BOSU workout is awesome. Seasun does a great job - her ab routine at the end is really great, too. This DVD is so worth the money, because you get two great workouts with two great instructors for the price of one!

It sounds like you will have plenty to keep you busy and shake things up. I just wanted to say Double Cardio is a great workout. I wouldn't make it through the part where she uses the top of her step with a weighted ball. It goes on for a long time. I found it quite a challenge. Have fun.

I don't believe this is correct. Did you mean to say Greg produces all of the CIA workouts? Because that's his gig. He also apparently freelances out his services and studio with some of the newer instructors (Bento, Staehle) who film there but aren't published as "CIA."

Angela, you'll have to let us know how you like the workouts when you get going. I've been mixing it up the last few months, too. I adore Cathe and always go to her first, but I like having other options.

Marie,

Yes, Greg produces all of the CIA DVD's. He is the one that has been filming Cathe's videos ever since I can remember. When she was filming this last series, she even has a picture of her talking with Greg about all the serious business!

Well, I just finished All Body Cardio. It is a sweatfest for sure and Sharon is a great instructor. I got tripped up in a couple of spots, but it was very easy to learn. This is a keeper. I can't wait to try the Bosu Blast but that will take me a bit longer to get the hang of I'm afraid. I look forward to the challenge though!!! I figured she was Greg's wife. She is excellent and I hope she considers doing more workouts in the future. I liked her style a lot.

P.S. I forgot to add that I recently acquired Kelly Coffey-Meyer's newest also (Step Boxing and New You Coming)...I will never figure out a rotation.....:p :7

Yes, Greg Twombly's name is in the credits of Cathe's videos and also in Christi Taylor's too. I swear, that guy is everywhere. I would love to see is wallet!!!;)

Thanks for the review of these workouts. I have this one ordered. Can't wait to get it. Glad to see you excited about your workouts.

Sorry for the stupid question...

But where can I review the workouts/order them?
