Choosing a Strength Program

Hello! I"m new to Cathe, and LOVE her older cardio workouts. I'm trying to cut down on cardio and increase my weight work, but I don't know where to start. I've been doing limited strength work up until this point. I'd like to do a 3 day cardio and 3 day strength rotation. It seems that you need a ton of equipment to Cathe's workouts! I don't own a barbell, tall step or a stability ball (HATE the ball!). I only have dumbells and a regular step. Are there any strength workouts of Cathe's that I could easily modify without sacrificing intensity? I'm looking to define rather than bulk. Thanks!

Hi, you can try Power Hour, Maximum Intensity Strength, the Pure Strength series or the Slow and Heavy series. All of these can be modified to use dumbbells only and none of these need a high step or a stability ball. (btw I can't even feel my abs working when using a stability ball) All of these are great choices and when done in conjunction with each other will allow for definition with no bulking. It takes alot of weight for a woman to bulk so I wouldn't be worried about it!!:)

Hope that helps you some.:7

And also don't forget The Pyramids. The Upper body uses all dumbells and of course for the lower body you can modify all dumbell which I most of the time.

I've gotten some of my best results using CTX's Upper Body which is almost all dumbell work. The pyramids are another great workout which uses all dumbells. For lower body I like Legs&Glutes...alot of variety and many moves that dont involve a barbell.

My two cents.
