Hi Catherine,

Great job on those chins!!! I worked on my chins just a teeeny bit yesterday. I know, I have to get busy with them. Colorado was great. Beautiful weather. A lot of biking out there. I want to bring my bike next time as they have beautiful trails. DD and I jogged along the river a few days-beautiful.

Joanne

Hey Catherine and Joanne! Aside from cardio, I haven't been doing Cathe this summer (or chins either, for that matter;-)), but I've been doing lots of yoga and have decided to bite the bullet and enroll in a 200-hour yoga teacher training program. It's Yoga Alliance registered and I'll be doing it one weekend a month for ten months. I've really gotten into yoga lately and have wanted to teach it for a while, so I decided at 45, it's now or never.:) I know I haven't been posting much lately and think I should probably just drop out of this check-in for a while. If you all decide to keep it going, I might pop in now and then to say hi. You guys are doing great with your workouts and chins and I admire your dedication. The Road Trip must've been a blast!

Hi Briee, wherever you are! I miss your craziness! :)

Sooooooooooooosan, it's so good to hear from ya!! Your yoga teaching training program sounds great!! I hope you enjoy it!! Uh, you know you are not allowed to drop out of this thread. The chinup police will come and get you LOL!!

How's your mom? I hope she is feeling more like herself.

BTW did you check out my picture trail. RT pics are there!!

Great pix, Catherine - you've got some buff abs! I recognized cute Joanne in a couple of them. If the chin-up police were going to come get me, they would have been here by now!

My mom's MRI came back this week and showed she was cancer free! She's still recovering from the radiation and surgery, though, and is still in quite a bit of pain, but the MRI is obviously great news. Thanks for asking.:)

I did Imax 3 1-6 this morning, followed by KPC abs and yoga. I still haven't lifted weights since June, which is really long for me. I've got to figure out how to fit it all in while keepng yoga a priority.

Sooooooooooooosan, I am sorry to hear that your mom is still in pain. But super happy to hear that she was cancer free on MRI WOOO HOOO!! Tell her I did the happy dance for her!!!

See, I am just the opposite. Trying to figure how to fit other stuff in with my wt training LOL!! I really neeeeeeed to get back to Yoga once a week.

Well, I really need to get off my tushie and do my pullups for today ;)

Hey chinners!!!!

First of all, I'm so happy to hear of your mom's great review Soosan - cancer free. That is SO awesome!!

Second...I would miss you so much if you left Soosan...please check in once in a while...PLEASE!!!! We'll change it to a chinner/yoga thread...or a yoga/chinner thread....or a "yogini who thinks about chins once in a while thread". Or maybe "the chinner who does yoga once in a while" thread. Better yet, the "chinner who used to hate yoga" thread (for me). Or the "yogini who hates chins" thread (for you). I'm quite flexible with a title as this summer has been up for grabs with workouts. (Of course Catherine DESERVES to keep the official title of "chinner of the year" - you are amazing girl!!)

Wanna know what I'm doin now? (of all things)....running. The kids asked me last week to go run/walking with them and it went from there. So in the last 8 days...I've put in 38 miles. The last of which I did Saturday night and it was a 10 mile moonlight run....this was the longest I've ever gone. I'm actually enjoying it. Just needed something different. I've got to get in a weight workout SOON!!!!! I have done Power Hour a few times in the last two weeks. No yoga...but I should get this in too!! I think I needed a change. No chins in 7 days now and on that day I think I did a set of 8 and then 4 and that was it.

Waves to all and I'll try to get here more often....IF SOOSAN WILL!!!

Briee (did I ever mention that I hate running even more than I USED to hate yoga - isn't life full of changes!!)

One more thing....I'm confident that your 7th will be just around the corner Catherine. Do some yoga and chant "seven chins, seven chins, seven chins"......this only works if you wear orange though:p :p .

Briee

Got it :D

Briee, running eh? You go girl!! Glad you are enjoying it!! BTW it's good to hear from ya!!

I am still on an inspirational high from the RT. Really working hard and watching what I eat. Working on my legs- squatting 75# and slowly increasing. This is from a girl who hates working legs LOL!! DH is so kind to spot me on my bench and squats- just gotta love him. Today is legs (light-moderate wts) and will do PS legs and throw chins in there. I've done stretch max twice this week. I really need that extra stretching. I've noticed I am so inflexable these days. Don't know if it's the heavier lifting??? There's just not time to do it all!!!!

I agree with Briee. Sooooooooooooosan would be sooooo missed.

Hey Miss Joanne, whatcha up to??

Hi to our wonderful chinster group (it may be small but you guys are the best)

Soooosan-great news about your Mom. I have to start doing Yoga again. That is the great thing about our group is that not only are we working or trying to work on our chins but we inspire each other with other activities too!!!

Briee-Wow-10 miles. The most I have run is 5.

Catherine-I'm still on the RT high too. In fact, I had a dream last night that we were all there again.

Joanne

Joanne, you are so right about inspiring each other. That is why I Love this check in and refuse to give it up :*

I did PS legs and chinups tonight. And I am tired!! Chinups were: 6,6,5,5,5,4,4,4. No 7th rep yet but those last two sets of 4 were 3s last week :7 So some improvement and I'll take it!!

I'd love to hear more about Soooooooooooooosan's yoga instructer training!!

>I'd love to hear more about Soooooooooooooosan's yoga instructer training!!

YES...I'd love to hear more too!! (ha }( we won't let her leave!!!!}( }( }( Aren't we clever!! ). And if THAT doesn't work....I will go on a food strike...I vow not eat anything that isn't orange - which is really quite limiting if you think about it. Don't make me starve Sooooooooooooosan!!

I'm trying to think of a reason not to workout right now. Hmmmmm - maybe I better get going and do Power Hour before one arises!!

Briee

Ok Chinsters-I went to the State Fair last night with DH. The Marines had a pull up challenge. Guys had to do 20 pull ups to receive a T-shirt. Girls had to stay up in a chin up position for 70 seconds to receive a T-shirt. I thought-ok-I can do that. Well, after 60 seconds I gave out. I felt really bummed. But, I will get that t-shirt next year. Soooooosan-are you with me? Catherine and Briee - you would of kicked butt! Well, at least I got a water bottle for trying :)

Joanne

You guys are cracking me up! I'll be around every now and then. I start yoga training next Friday. I hope I'll be a good teacher!

Catherine, you are an animal! I am so proud of you for sticking with the chins all this time and upping your weights like there's no tomorrow. You are so strong and fit!

Briee, when you get into something, you get into it! I'm glad you've found another fitness activity to love. I think it's great to mix things up and do what you enjoy - hence all the yoga for me. I'll get back into weights eventually but I'm happy doing what I'm doing for now.

Joanne, they should've given you the t-shirt anyway! Don't they know an ecto when they see one and realize how much harder it is for them (us)? I wonder how long I could hang. My rhomboid has never been the same after that injury last year that I'm afraid to do anything to aggravate it. My upper body is getting stronger, though, from all the chaturangas so maybe I'll give it a whirl.

Hey gang!!! Just finished BM2 double upper body  I am lifting heavier wts but man when it comes to Cathe and her endless reps }(

Sooooooooooooosan, you will be an awesome teacher!! I soooooo agree about mixing things up a bit!! I think it helps keep us going.

Speaking of mixing it up. I can not wait for the new workouts!!!

>Briee, you'd better get that butt in gear or I will come and kick it for you!!

Just so you know Miss Catherine....I called a friend (secretly hoping she wouldn't be there) from my exercise class to see if she wanted to come do Power Hour. Her answering machine came on, but she called back a few minutes later and came right over. PH flies by when you're chatting!!!!! Honest. Then I went for a 3 mile run yesterday and 1 mile walk later in the day. Is that Okay?

Oh yes...did a set of 8 chins, but only one set (just to beat my 11 year old who did 7}( }( }(. Then, my 8 year old came in and did 11 - show off - I'm not speaking to him and neither is Soosan).

Briee
