Chinner's Checkin 2-20-07

Well ladies, I just finished DM WHEW!! I also did a total of 16 chinups. I suspect I will have a sore upper body tomorrow. Usually I space chinups at least 3 days apart (giggles and says except lately it's been anywhere from 1-2 weeks LOL!)

I'm here but haven't been working on my chins :(

I love Drill Max. Wow-16 chinups. You go girl! I have to start hanging from the bar again. I'm kind of gun shy. Last week when I tried to do a neg my arm still didn't feel right. So, I feel I need to wait a little longer except it seems like I have waited long enough. Oh well.

Any chinsters planning on going on the road trip? I am. And I believe I saw Soooooosan is.

I don't blame you, I'd be gun shy too. I wonder if you could do some modification. I forget what it's called but where you have a bar that's maybe wedged on two chairs and you lie on the floor and pullup??

I did magically hips this evening. I also did 3 single sets of pullups. Yes pullups! I need to start working on these again. Guess what tomorrow is- B&G again :eek: Then Thurs is Cardio Fusion. I don't think I'll be walking by Friday LOL!!

I'd love to go on the road trip, but I don't know yet.

Hey Joanne! I do plan on attending the road trip. It's only about a five-hour drive for me.

I encourage you all to attend if you can swing it. You only live once and you'll be so glad you did it and regret it if you didn't. Wouldn't it be fun to meet each other in person? It really was a blast and so inspiring to be with fellow fitness enthusiasts. Everyone was SO incredibly nice.

Wow, Catherine, a pull-up! I couldn't begin to do one. You are so strong.

I'm doing MUCH better!! Thanks for asking. I'm sticking with my almost all raw diet and going to work on rebuilding immunity. Monday I did BM2 - "sections" of it - it was HARD. Then Tuesday I did DM in it's entirety with my class. I have 3 new nurses in class that are GUNG HO - that is the ONLY way I did all of DM. Really helps to have others PUSHING me.

Sooooooooooooosan, I've done Bryan Kests Energy 3 times this week. I've had aches and pains lately that are making me feel OLD and I'm hoping this helps. AND I went downhill skiing all day yesterday....took our whole family. This was the first time for our barely 3 and 4 year old. They are now going down the bunny hill unassisted and the 4 year old can get herself up on the toe rope without going head over heels from twisted skis. This was SO much fun and fun to watch them all.

Joanne, are you flying to the road trip? I would love to do this, but can't imagine leaving the family - I'll have to bop over and see when it is scheduled. Been off the computer for a while! Have a great day guys!

Briee, glad you are feeling better. OK, when Briee says parts of BM2 was hard while she was recovering uh, what does that make me when I am well and huffin and puffin?? That's one LONG w/o. As a matter of fact I'm doing it tommorrow. It's on the sched mid next week, but I can not do that one on a work day. So I am switching it up. So Briee, how is the yoga going??? Do you see a differnce? I am still doing it once a week and wish I could work it in more.

Was shocked that I had no DOMS yesterday from B&G that I did on Wed. Yesterday was CF- I did it on a six inch step. Today is rest, but will hopefully get some chins in.

What's everyone else up to?

Catherine...I'm LOL. When I said I did "parts" of BM2...I meant that I only did parts of it. I was exhausted, just couldn't do much. I think I did the warmup through combo 2. Then I advanced to the cardio drills and did maybe 2 of them. Then I did a VERY little of the leg work and 1/2 the upperbody section and then I QUIT! AND when I said that it was hard...I meant the little bit that I DID do was hard!!!

Yoga. It is going well. I think I get yoga back into my head when I am eating raw. The combination of clean eating and yoga kind of clears my head. I went to the chiro and he fixed my foot that I twisted about 3 months ago. He could feel that the bone was still out of place and he did something - pulled the foot and leg and we both heard a crack and it snapped back into place. It no longer hurts. But my hip has developed an ache which probably came from walking funny because of my foot. I'm going to continue the yoga until I get my back in order. Honestly...I feel great when I'm done with yoga. (but don't tell Soosan :p ).

Briee-Yes, I plan on flying to the road trip. A-jock is planning on going too so we will probably fly together. I sure hope I don't miss the sign up. Your skiing adventure sounded like fun. That is great that your little ones are so good at it already. I haven't done Yoga in several weeks so I have to get back into it (shhh - don't tell Soooosan).

I went snow shoeing yesterday and had a blast. We got this huge snow storm and it was so pretty outside.

Catherine...just reread up above and saw your post about otosclerosis, what exactly is this?

Joanne...I'm jealous. Where will you guys stay when you get up there? Do people room together at a specific hotel, own arrangements, various hotels, etc? If I remember correctly, you attended the last one, yes?

Briee, it's a hereditary condition where the bones of the middle ear that normally vibrate to tranmit the sound become hard and fixed so that they don't move. This causes hearing loss. I was gonna have surgery last year but decided to wait and see if it gets much worse. But I think it is getting worse so I will probably go ahead with the surgery.

I am jealous of the road trippers too. Maybe I can figure out a way to go. I would love to meet everyone.

Well, I didn't do my chins today. So that means I have to do some tomorrow. Again procrastination,....

Joanne, I'm so excited you and A-Jock are going on the RT! I can't wait to meet her and am looking forward to getting to know you better too.

Catherine and Briee, please try to find a way to come! I'm driving and would be happy to pick you up from the airport. I know it's expensive to fly but there are great deals available these days.

Briee, we stayed in a hotel about 20 min from Cathe's gym. The coordinators had reserved a block of rooms there. They'll probably do the same at a different hotel this time.

You will both regret it if you don't go!:)
 
Hey ladies!! Sooooooooooooosan, I would so love to go but I will have to wait and see. Are you all planning to share a room with someone?

BTW, I found out earlier this week that Muffie, my oldest has hypothyriod and is on medication now. Maybe that has something to do with some of the aggression. We have had no physical fights but some growling episodes. Still ignoring the behavior and somewhat ignoring the pooches :( I hate that but if that keeps them safe. We have an appointment with the Behavior Specialist Friday. Hope she can help us sort through this. Oh and Biscuit has a subluxating patella. Her knee cap slips out of place. Has had it since she was a puppy, but all of the sudden it is acting up. So she may potentially need surgery. $$$$$ I have spent so much on them lately. This is why the RT is a big?????

Well, I am off to do BM2 and throw some chins in there. Have the paramedics on standby for me.

No paramedics needed, well close. I am done. Didn't do ab work but did 22 total chins. I almost did 5 in a row. Felt strong on the 4rth and thought ok lets do it. Got half way up there and this little bleeping voice in my head said you can't and I didn't. Will someone please shoot that little bleepin voice in my head???

Well,off to see Wild Hogs with DH and hopefully avoid the popcorn, etc....
