Ah Briee, that approach just doesn't work for me at all. I'm a realist. I could never lie to myself like that because I would never be able to convince myself that I love something I hate. Nope! What works for me is to face my hatred head on, confess that what I'm feeling is indeed hatred, and then boldly attack it. I'm an attacker! Your approach, for me, is a fools folly. And actually, hatred of a thing creates a tremendous amount of energy that, when harnessed, is ultimately very productive. That's what I got!
