Adri, I also don't doubt for a minute that you can do all the pull-ups you say. I know a lot of gymnasts I'm not speaking to for just that reason.:p

Catherine, you are NOT whining! You must be incredibly frustrated. When I was selling raffle tickets at the grocery store last week, I saw a woman stop dead in her tracks to wince and catch her breath before she could take another step to get a grocery cart. She saw that my co-worker and I were watching her and explained that it was sciatica. She was obviously in a lot of pain, poor thing.

Melody, doing yoga has greatly increased my push-up count - maybe we could be convinced to allow push-up discussion here.:+

Wow.....you guys are sure chatty since I last checked!!!!

I have a few questions.....who's doubting Adri???? That's just plain silly. Why would anyone intentionally claim to do this many if they couldn't knowing that Sooooooooooooosan as well as several others wouldn't be speaking to them for doing as stated. I think the girls giving up quite a lot by just ADMITTING to doing so many - get some perspective here folks. :p :p :p :p

Speaking of chins...can I admit to a few. It was Back and Bicep day in P90X land and I did a total of 35 chins and pulls combined. I got 9 out of the first set of chins (truthfully hadn't done them in 3 weeks with all that's been happening) and then a few sets of wide front p/u's with about 4 per set. The chins QUICKLY dropped to 3-5 per set after the first 9. The rest of the workout was pretty weaslley (is that a word?) as I was just plain tired today. I still can't stomach the girl in this workout, makes me crazy.

Tomorrow is "THAT" day, but I don't actually say the word as we DO NOT SPEAK OF yoga ON THIS THREAD AS IT IS A CHINNING THREAD. (occasional mention of pushups is allowed). Confessions...I haven't had a donut in weeks (if you don't count today :p ).

Oh...I ran the Cashton 5K over the weekend and I have possible plans for a triathalon on October 7th. Joanne...sounds like an awesome bike ride...would ya like to participate in the Kickapoo Triathalon...check it out online!! You're not too far away...anyone else!! I've never done a tri, so I'm REALLY excited. No chins are involved in this one, but I'm sure one could find a way to work them into the course!!

At 50 posts, it's probably time to start a new thread, but I wanted to reply on this one first to make sure everyone sees Briee's post about THIRTY-FIVE chins and pulls!!! It's not fair, it's not fair, it's not fair! She doesn't do any for 3 weeks and then comes casually strolling into this check-in mentioning this little feat. Couldn't you have just done 34 and have let me do the last one, Briee? That's all I want - JUST ONE MEASLY CHIN-UP!:+ :p

All right, I've calmed down. I'm pleased to report that my upper back/neck/shoulders or wherever I actually injured myself is feeling much better, but I do not dare attempt any UB or core work until next week when I'm SURE it's better. In the meantime, I'll continue with legs (did L&G the other day for the first time in a long time - fun!), cardio and non-power yoga. And, of course, eat donuts.:)
 
I've been meaning to ask: which new Cathe DVD is everyone looking forward to the most? It's Butts & Guts for me.

I read those posts about the doubters wanting proof about the weight you lift - and I'll tell you that you DON'T have to post pics to prove what you can do!!!! I'll be darned if I'd ever do that! I KNOW gymnists are very strong, and part of the reason is that they have to do a lot of body weight exercises, which I've found increased my strength a lot more than lifting weights ever did! Keep on keeping on!

Briee, WTG on the 35!!! I forget what my personal best is, somewhere around 30. Of course I am no where near that number now- but I WILL be!!
