Chin-Up Check-In Fri, 9.8

Hey Chinsters!!
I did my Pull-ups for back today. I did 1 set wide handed and 1 set close handed. They weren't chin-ups though, my hands weren't facing me.

I did 9 reps widehanded (like I did last back W/O) and did about 15 close handed (was hurtin be 13 and 14}() close handed has always been easier for me because the focus is more in the biceps as well as the lats. Not just the lats like it is in the wide grip. Hope you all had killer W/O's today!!! Will BBL:)

Would one of you chinsters to whom I am speaking please tell Catherine "hi" for me and tell Adri "awesome job on the pullups".

I did an elliptical workout about 35 mins and then did SJP's step/hilo/weight circuit premix and SJP abs and a stretch. I think that was about 90 minutes, and my body just isn't quite back up to it's normal endurance/strength yet, so I'm feeling the "love".

Well, my mind is blank so I'll leave now.:)

Thanks you guys! I've been doing pull-ups since I was 9. Of couse when I was 9 I could only do like a half of one. O by the way I wanted to tell you all I'm trying to get my Aunts cam and take some pics of me. I know it must be hard for you all to believe me that I can do all those pull-ups and stuff. My cam is broken so maybe I can get some up by next week. Talk to you guys tomorrow!! Someone please ask Melody for me how Wil is doing. And someone please tell Soooooosan I said hi. Adri, you've got it all wrong. You can speak to US; we just can't speak to YOU (at least not until the bottom of our chins see the top of a pull-up bar). There are all kinds of people in fitness magazines we're not speaking to either. It's only fair, you know.:p

Joanne, your bike ride sounds awesome! Wish I could go!

Melody, when you get back into it, you get back into it! (Another thing you seem to have in common with Briee.:))

HB, I found that 3 days a week was too much for my body as well. Actually, negatives seemed to be too much for my body too. I was starting to get on a roll with my assisted reps at the Y and then this dumb (non-chin-up related) injury had to set me back again.x( You're smart to listen to your body.

Water Country was awesome yesterday. I wish we could go back today. I'm going to do PLB (with dumbbells!) this afternoon. No core. No chins. No UB.x(

How are you with push-ups? It that one of your training exercises? Everyone needs to do them, too, IMO, along with pull-ups.

Hey ladies. I did my full body routine today. I would like to say that it didn't aggravate my sciatica, but it did x( So now I need to rethink what to do.

I also did a few set of chins. Again not where I once was!! Starting to feel like a real whiney butt!!! Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!! OK I'm done whining.

Oh and Adri, I've read some other posts on this forum. I want you to know that I totally believe you do what you say you do. Why would you make up those numbers? You're a gymnist and have trained for many years- probably most of your life. Anyway, don't feel like you have to proove yourself her.

O Catherine thanks soo much. That really means a lot to me. That almost brought tears to my eyes:) I know its hard to believe it but gymnasts are incredibly strong. Even though I'm fairly young you should see some of the 18-20 year old gymnasts. They are amazing and so strong. Anyway Catherine thanks sooo much. That made me feel so much better;-)

Catherine- I started gymnastics when I was 8 but that was just to jump on the tramp and go to their summer camp, ect. Then I became serious at 9 ans started team training at 10. Now I'm 14. Again, Catherine thank YOU soooo much! That made me feel sooo much better when I read what you said. But I still will make a picture trail but errrrr I just loved what you said :7 Thanks so much;-)

Honeybunch- I did push-ups yesturday for chest. I think I just did 1 set of 30. I don't know whats been up w/ my shoulder for the past couple of days. I don't know if I injured it or something.

I certainly believe you. I have first hand knowledge of gymnasts, as many years ago I assisting in coaching girls' gymnastics and taught preschool gymnastics. You gals aren't whimps that's for sure.
 
Awww thank you too Melody! Your guys are great!! Just a few ppl from the Hardcore Fitness Maniacs check in but I'm not mad at them or anything, at all, its just I want them to believe me. I will get pics and stuff but gymnastics isn't just fun and games. We don't stand around for 4 hours, no we're tumbling, swinging, balancing, climbing the rope, condititoning ect. We only get about a 5 minute brake at 2 hours to get a quick snack. Other than that its like a Boot Camp}( Just thank you too Melody for your support:)

Hi Everyone, I'm back,

Adri, I'm sorry that someone hurt your feelings. Be yourself and take it with a grain of salt. You are doing great, and you don't have to prove anything to anyone. My daughter took gymnastics and I know they work their little buns off.

Soosan, too much poundage hurts, donut? Well, it does for me.
