Does anyone know of a good child friendly book on Advent? Like activities and such to do each day. I've been looking on line forever and am hoping someone can help me out. Thanks.

When I was a child, we use to make wreaths in Catholic school (construction paper of course) with the four candles (three purple, one pink? Or was it the other way around?), and "light" one at the beginning of each week before Christmas.
So you would have your wreath as a flat piece of green construction paper, adding decorations to it how you liked, then tape on the cylinder candles, and to light them you would tape/glue a paper flame to the inside of the candle.
Does that help?

P.S. I just threw this in, but I'm guessing you've already scoured Amazon:
Try this link. It is something called "Open Wednesday". We use it for activities for the Children's Liturgy of the Word at church. I think it is a specifically Catholic website (maybe not...someone from church recommended it to me...), but it might lead you to some ideas. There are usually ideas for crafts/stories, etc. for every week, more than enough for at least a few to do at home!
HTH!

Thanks Ladies I really appreciate it. I really am going to try and make a really good effort to do something every day. I seem to fall by the way side about week three. Karen

I don't know of any advent books, but for the past 12 years we have had the playmobil advent calender in our home. You can look at it online at www.playmobil.com. The kids open a box a day for 24 days and each box contains a playmobil figure. This years theme is Christmas in the park. It ends with Santa but there is an angel figure on day 20. For only half an hour assembly I can guarantee hours on enjoyment. They love to play with the scene or just look at it. My third child is 17 and informed me that it would not be Christmas without the calander. My youngest at 12 runs down every morning to see the figure of the day. I have to confess I love the thing too. I can't wait to buy it for my grandbabies!!
