:::CHEETAHS:::Wednesday

Cathlete
Good morning ladies!

Just gettin us started. I was the last to post last night so I'm current on personals...wow, that may be a first ;).

I'm heading out for a run here in about five minutes. Don't know how far or how fast, I'll have to see how I feel. It's raining lightly, this should be nice!!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!

See yas in about an hour!

G'morning, cheetahs :)

The retirement dinner was nice, but it made for a loooong night, and it was pretty far from home. It was 10:30ish by the time I got home. Then about 2:30 am, I was awakened by the sounds of teenagers carrying on on the street. Don't know who they were, but they decided to park on the street and hang out, laughing, talking loudly, slamming the car doors, etc. Had to call the police to chase 'em away. So, this morning, I am feelin' a bit dragass.

Wendi :: enjoy your run!

Kath :: ohhhh, I see. :7 Thanks for the explanation.

Wendy :: Glad you had fun bowling...yes, this is the other portion of my certification...Yeah, certain times of the school year are just like this. No big thang. Just gotta roll with it. :)

Shelly :: hope you enjoyed your run. Does the humidity here not bother you?

Christine :: I'll have to check out Amazing Abs. Glad you're enjoying some HRM-free workouts. Sometimes we do get too hung up on numbers. You & Carole can crash my room anytime! :)

Carole :: I watched the early seasons of Six Feet also. He really is a talented actor as he was sooo different on that show. I have a feeling putting you, Christine, and me together could be trouble. :7

Jackie :: Nice workout with IntervalX+ and sprints. I like that one. Haven't done any of the X workouts in so long.

Doreen :: feel free to join us more regularly. :) The more the merrier around here.

Tammy :: thanks for the update. Hope the change in meds fixes the problem.

Gloria :: OMG, today is the day! Fingers and toes are crossed!!! Let us know when you find out.

I have to work a little later -- have a meeting and then need to do some grading, but tonight's plan is TT Workout A (finally) :). Sounds like we are getting t-storms and downpours, so I suppose it will have to be on the TM.

Have a GREAT day! I had to check the thread title for a second to see what day it was. Yikes! :7

Good Morning Girls.

No time for personals as I have about 5 minutes before I have to get ready for work.

Just wanted to report that I did hill intervals on the TM y'day afternoon before heading up to my mom's and today will be AB weight work out #2.

I have DOMS in my quads. It was like the inner thigh DOMS went away but the quad DOMS settled in it's place and I have more leg work to do today!   Is it okay to be sore for this long? I've been sore since Friday!}( I am afraid of overtraining my lower body. :-(

Well, that's about it for now.

BB after work.:*

Morning cheetahs:) Rainy and cool out today. Also having some persistant lower GI issues since the day before which are dragging me down a tad so I think I'll opt for a rest day:eek:  Haven't had one for a while so I'm due! It's hard to take a rest day for me when I'm not working. Usually I rest in between 12 hr work shifts. It's hard to fit in a workout anyway. Well, maybe I'll just do some core work and stretching;-) Anway, I did get in a good amount of yard work yesterday! Today I go for the last pre job requirement, my ppd (TB skin test) Being a nurse I get these every year, sometimes more. When I live in Fla I got it twice a year. I don't want to think about how many of these things I've had in my lifetime!!

Christine- ITA with your current view/experiment re: the HRM. I think the numbers these things give you can be quite inaccurate and too many people get quite hung up trying to reach that golden number. Use your instincts, listen to your body rather then a gadget is what I say.

Carole- Most of my yard work will just be general clean up. The problem with planting is that I won't be here soon to follow up and take care of it. DH will likely ignore everything except his boat (lol) Are your legs talking to you today after the pyramid/plyoX workout? Did you get the X+ workouts? LOL about the potato bugs... they are ugly!

Jackie- Gonna start running again soon? I remember that monster series of races you accomplished last year!! Gonna be doing any this year?

Tammy- Glad to hear all your pulmonary function tests went very well. Interesting that your doc feels it may be from your BP meds. That certainly is possible and I forgot to ask you if you were taking any meds. I sure hope that this clears it up for you. Please let us know if it is making any difference for you.

Gloria- crossing fingers/toes/paws for you today that you will win the NYC marathon lottery!!!!

Wendi- Well, I'm not as tough a cheetah as you think I guess... the wind was kicking up yesterday afternoon so I wussed out and elected to do KM indoors instead! I agree with you about running hills, in some ways it is easier I suppose. Just LOVE the downhill part! The St. George, Utah marathon is one of the most difficult to get into because it is mostly downhill! I'm with you on the TV... I'm usually way too tired at night, all I want to do is read some (to relax me) and sleep! Hope you get in a nice although wet run today!

Cathy- The only way the humidity is "bothering" me is that I sweat ALOT more!! But I feel great.... much better then when I was in Az in fact. Poor cheetah... a long evening and then your sleep broken up by those boorish teens!! Gettin the same rain here, not to conducive to outdoor stuff!

Judy- Happy Bday to your DS!! So what are you cookin up for him? Already at the end of stage 2 of NROL? How many stages are there? Seeing any results?

Wendy- Wow, your legs are really taking a hit there! You definitely can overtrain any part of your body--- you may want to think about giving your gams a break!

Doreen, don't be a stranger... come into the cheetah den and chat anytime!

I think that about catches me up. Hi to all who follow and hope everyone has a fantastic day!

ShellyC

Quickie fly by!

Cathy - Glad you had a nice time last night but that just sucks about those kids last nite, I mean this morning x(...so sorry!!!

Judy - Happy Birthday to DS!!! It sounds like he's got quite the jam packed schedule with his finals, too. Nothing like a little Bday celebration to break up the studying.

Wendy - Oh, so sorry the DOMS has taken up permanent residence in your LB :(. It must be wicked if you're really it that bad . Maybe a day of rest is in order, or maybe a nice long walk to lossen things up?

My run was delightful. Light rain, 5.2 miles in 47:00. What a great way to start the morning! Legs felt good, although I got a bit winded compared to yesterday. Understandable though as I don't usually run two days in a row. Having said that...I've decided to run the next two days as well. I'll probably ease up on the pace a bit tomorrow and then kick it back up Friday. Sat and Sun will have to be rest days (work, gag!) so I'm trying to get them in all together.

Anyway, enough yammering. I've really got to get moving here! Ciao for now!

Shellers - You snuck in on me there! So sorry about the GI issues. I hope they pass quickly for ya. Maybe a "light" (lol) day is in order for ya. I can't blame you for staying in yesterday. You certainly picked a good alternative! Oooh, now *that's* my kind of race lol!

Happy Hump Day Cheetah Babes!

Doreen – enjoy your race!

Wendy – great news! Thanks for letting me know. How was dinner at mom’s?

Carole – great job at getting the yard work done! I’m not a big fan of bugs. Nice of you to let them be. :p

Judy - Happy Birthday to DS15! Good luck to him in his finals! My DD15 has those next week. Thanks so much for the suggestions! I can’t wait to go! And I’m hungry already!

Tammy – oh! I didn’t know you are blood pressure meds! I had a friend with whom I trained for Search and Rescue who had to have her meds changed for the exact same reason. I hope that it helps you!

Hi Gloria! Hope the rest of the week goes fast for you!

Wendi – I’m feeling much better today – I can laugh and cough again! Phew! Now I get to go give myself more DOMS! :p I don’t even know the results from the vote – I guess I should go look. No one seems too concerned. I think voter turn out was somewhere around 30%. I don’t watch much TV either. Not much on that interests me. Glad you enjoyed your run!

Cathy – oh man, that would tick me off! I get home late already, then some obnoxious teens decide to hang out in the wee hours of the morning. I like Amazing Abs – but it is tough. But I think as long as you only do 2 or the workouts, you’ll be fine – don’t do the third before your run. Let me know how you like TT!

Shelly – Oh, I hope you’re feeling better today!! Thanks for the support of the HRM. I’m actually finding it nice to not be strapped to a gadget. It certainly hasn’t helped in my weight loss efforts. I’m just going to do what I want to do now. :p

I’m up and ready to go! My trip to Boston is finalized – I have flights and my hotel reservations. I’m looking forward to it. Today is going to be AOS Providence and Steve Cotter’s Core Circuit 1. Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy....so sorry about the teens screwing up your sleep!! Especially as you got home late. I am SURE you, me and Christine could get in quite a lot of trouble...but FUN trouble...:)...Enjoy your TT workout and TM run.

Wendi...it was a leg frier yesterday, they are not too sore today..:)..I just got a bur in my butt and wanted the wood moved! I like running in light rain too. Sounds like you had a great run...:)

Judy..Happy B-Day to your youngest!!

Wendy...that is a long time to have DOMS. Maybe no lower body work today? Thanks for all the P90X+ help...:)

Shelly...sorry about the lower GI issues! Hope the TB skin test goes well...I bet you have had a number of those in your profession. LOL, I think my DH ignores everything except HIS boat too. My legs are not too sore today. I must need to up the weight I used...:D...Yes, I did order P90X+.

Christine...glad you got things for Boston finalized. Yes, I was nice to the bugs yesterday..:)...Enjoy Providence and SC's Core Circuit.

Tammy..thanks for letting us know! I do hope the new meds don't cause any of the previous problem. You are a sweetie...:)

Gloria..toes and fingers crossed for the NYC marathon for you!! Let us know...:)..Glad to hear that the pain is less intense.

Today is P90X S&A and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Carole - just remember - if you, Cathy and I get ourselves into a lot of trouble - I'm in sales, I can usually talk my way out of or into anything. :p It will be a fun weekend! So we're going to have to do X+ together?! I'm going to be doing a rotation more like:

S- TT workout and HIIT
M- Cardio
T - Off
W - P90X+ Total Body and Steady State or P90X+ Upperbody plus S&H Legs
R - Cardio
F - Kettlebell workout and HIIT
S - Trail run

I figure I can fit everything in that way. :p

Quick post to say that I did not do my workout as planned at all. I ended up doing Steve Cotter's Cardio Circuit and following that with Plyo X. I enjoyed that combo. Although my arms are still a bit sore from Kenpo X so the Around the Body Passes with the kettlebell was interesting.

Afternoon Girls :)

Little late posting for me :) I had a busy morning. I was going to take a rest day and decided not :) I did HIIT and worked triceps and some core stuff. I wonder if this rain in NY will ever end.

A few personals:

Shelly: A rest is maybe what you needed. Sorry you are suffering GI issues. What kind of place will you be working at when your job starts? I'm sorry if you posted that already-- I may have missed it. DH's sister and hubby live near St George. Beautiful area. I don't think they will stay too long. Her husband has retired and likes to move around. They moved there from Vegas.

Cathy: Sounds like a busy night last night.

Wendi: Great run this morning

Christine: Safe flight for you and enjoy yourself

Judy: Happy Bday to your son. Fingers crossed he does well on his exams

Gloria: I thought you were talking about NY lotto --LOL. I was thinking WOW she really wants to win :)

Doreen: This is a great place to ask a question. The girls are very helpful.

Hi to Wendy, Carole ,Dallas and Jackie.

Hi again!

Christine- Ok let us know where you ate and what your favorites were.

Carole- I laughed at the the thought of you and Christine getting into and out of trouble! Good thing Christine can negotiate!

Wendi- 4 straight days of running? I think you should have DSO give you a massage afterwards :)

Gloria- Good luck about finding out about NYC. How long ago did you sign up?

Shelly- DH thinks I look more muscular and than my legs look smaller. The scale has not moved. I have not measured, but DS is brutally honest. I feel my legs are the same or larger in newly washed jeans, but then by the end of the day they are loose again so who knows?

Sunny- Body Weight Matrix awaits me on Friday! Say a prayer for me. If I am in pain I'll blame it on you for introducing me to Alwyn ! (just kidding)

Wendy- I hope your legs recover more quickly from here on out! Maybe it was the 3rd beer~ ?! nahhhh

I heard on the news today that red wine has even more benefits than previously thought. It is now thought that compounds in red wine, in addition to being beneficial to heart muscle, have anti aging properties! So I'm keepin' my two glass/day on weekends habit!

This morning I did the HIIT first on the TM and went a little closer to Alwyn's formula. 1" intense, 1" recovery, 1" moderate. (he suggests 1" intense, 2" recovery) I did 5 total intervals and then moderate paced steady state with small increases until I reached 30 minutes. Then I did the stage 2B workout. I actually prefer it this way. My muscles are nice and warm, but I am tired on the heavy lunges. Ah but it is done :)

Hey Cheetahs!

Christine - I like X+ but it doesn't have enough lower body work for me. Will probably add some of my own. Can't wait to hear what you think about the workout.

Carole - Glad you got the yard work done. Sounds like lots of work.

Tammy - Hope the new meds do the trick for you.

Gloria - Good luck with the NYC lottery! Hope you got in.

Wendi - Thanks for the SATC review. I'd like to see it but don't know if I can drag DBF there. Glad you had a good run in the rain.

Cathy - Sorry your night didn't go well for sleeping. Don't you hate when people have no respect for others? Teenagers probably should have been at home anyway. Hope you get that TT workout in.

Judy - Happy Birthday to DS! Sounds like nice plans for his day.

Wendy - Maybe the LB needs an extra rest day. Hope the DOMS is better.

Shelly - Sorry for the GI issues. Enjoy your rest day. I'm not doing the Road Race Series this year. Don't seem to have the oomph this year. Maybe too much going on for me.

Kath - How often do you take rest days?

I did Total Body+. It reminded me a lot of some of the moves in Core Syn. I liked the workout with the exception of the 1&1 (1 push up, 1 pull up) and 3&3 (3 squats, 3 push ups, 3 pull ups). Didn't really like going from move to move. DB is supposed to get my pull up bar on the door today. So, maybe I'll like these moves better then. Other than that, it was a good workout. Still not enough leg work for me though.

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

J.

hey wonderful cheetahs,

just wanted to let you know i am thinking about you all. kinda hard for me to post on more than one check'in as you all know my time is so limited.

i do miss you wonderful gals....

Good Afternoon Cheetahs.

My work out is done. My legs ended up feeling pretty good by the time this afternoon rolled around so I went ahead and did all of the weight work as prescribed. I think it's the kb work out that did it to me. I will do another kb work out this week. If it happens again then I will know that's what it was....

Time for a shower but I'll be back for personals at some point today or tonight!:)

Later Babes!:*

Hey J :)

I usually take one rest day a week. Lately Ive been doing some type of *fun* cardio on those rest days. Makes up for any CABS I may have had on the weekend :) I like working my legs -- I mostly do running and tons of squats. I'm kinda lucky cause my legs are my best asset. I actually got asked on a run one day what else I do to get my lean muscular legs --maybe it's in the genes LOL. Cause I just gave the girl a blank stare and she said "Please don't tell me you don't do anything" LOL
