::: Cheetahs ::: Wed., 9/6

carole I love my garmin!! I have the 301 though. Love , Love it!!!

thanks all for your advice on the half, but I just found out that I work that weekend, figures.

Oh, man – I hate not being home during the day! It’s so hard to keep up with the cheetah activity.

I just came in from a 4-mile run…thankfully, the sun was shining! I must say, though, that I really felt drained in my legs. I think it’s from Monday’s BC and last night’s Slim & Lean – the squats and lunges burned like hell.

Wendy :: yeah, you’re right – it was before the crack. Janice was the one with the long, straight blond hair…she was kind of spacey. Yes, I did get the PM and just responded. That stinks about the job mishaps. Care to unload on your fellow cheetahs? I laughed when I saw my screen name in parentheses…I really had no idea what I was thinking when I made that one up…lol

Jess :: Ooh, KM arrived today…can’t wait to try it, but I really needed to get out there and run. It’d been a week. I’m glad I rested, though…my legs feel good (the Achilles and ITB were buggin’ me a bit). I also have the 201 and I am noticing that sometimes the “average pace” readout disappears and is replaced by “average speed.” I don’t know how it happens. I wind up having to restore the settings and then plug my info in all over again. This happen to you? The lunchtime visits to your grandma and aunt sound nice.

Adri :: have a great first day at school tomorrow rockin’ your new outfit. :) The Jari Love Slim & Lean is on DVD. I don’t think it’s affiliated with beachbody. Since I ran, I’m gonna save KPC for another day. Gotta try out KM first! :)

Carole :: I’m glad that John is coming around and beginning to work. And it’s great that he’s coming down off some of the meds. Thanks for sharing his progress with us. Have fun with the Garmin!

Shelly :: I know—I’m very impatient for the new workouts, too. Glad I’m not alone in only wanting to get my butt beat by Cathe! Hope you’ve recouped from the rough night at work on Monday.

Jennifer :: good to hear you’re on the mend. It’s so annoying when you’re set back by a cold! I have stocked up on anti-bacterial gel and hope I can avoid as much as possible getting sick this school year.

Katie :: also glad to hear you’ve made some progress with your back. Fingers crossed you’ll be ready to roll again on Monday.

Christine :: glad you made it to NC safely. Enjoy your time there!

Susan :: I’ll be curious to see what you think of Slim & Lean when you try it.

Hi to Judy, Elaine, Barb, Laura, Laurie (where has she been lately?), Mattea, Pamela, Gayle, Thomasina, Marcia, Colleen, Natalie, Wendy Marie, Dina, and anyone else I’m leaving out. Have a great night!

Hey Sekcy Cheetahs!!
I don't have much time for personals right now. I gatta get in the shower, get ready for school tomorrow, and have dinner. I just came home from the gym. I did shoulders, abs, calves, shins, and 30 minutes of the Kickbox Advanced class out my gym. Heres my breakdown (copy & pasted from another check in) 90 rest inbetween sets:

SHOULDERS:
Rotator Cuff using cable- 3 sets 8 reps 25#
Single Arm Front Dumbell Lifts- 3 sets each side 10 reps 15# each
Upright Rows w/ Barbell- 3 sets 10 reps 60#
Shoulder Press Machine- 3 sets 8 reps 55#

CALVES:
Standing Calf Machine- 3 sets 25 reps 115#
Single Leg Calf Raise on Step- 1 set each side 25 reps w/ 10# dumbells

SHINS:
Don't know what its called but you sit on a high step or something, put a stability ball on the front of your feet (at shoelaces) and you curl it up, and release it down. I think this exercise was from Push/Pull. I did 3 sets 30 reps w/ stability ball

ABS:
Abdominal Crunch Machine- 3 sets 15 reps 90#
Abdominal Machine- 3 sets 15 reps 75#
Addominal Machine for Oliques/ Crivis- 1 set each side 20 reps 67.5#
Ab Board- 100 inverted sit-ups
Ab Board- 50 twists on that same machine w/ 12# medicine ball

Wanted to jog, rained here, figures..LOL. Geeez the weather knows me better than I know myself:+

Cathy and Susan- Thanks for your kind words!! I love everyone here. All you guys are so great and nice;-)

Will have more time for personals tomorrow. Sorry cheetahs. Take care everyone!! Love ya:)

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry with your girlfriends.

Susan--Amazing job on your run.
thanks for the compliment about being creative. I love that part of the DVDs that once I got to know them well enough, it's like an exercise salad bar. I agree with Elaine that you are going to do great on your 10K. I find working legs really helpful to support my running. I'm 43 -- it's good for injury prevention...

Jess-- have a good trip! I'm glad you got a little quiet time today. Kids are great, the best, but it's also nice to hear the beautiful sound of quiet....

Elaine-how was your elliptical workout? I just found out today I may be able to get a discounted membership at a gym connected to a pool where my DS swims, which means I could have access to an elliptical a few times a week. This would be great for me since I can't have one in my house with ceiling and space constraints.

Have a great night lovely Cheetahs.

Good Evening Cheetahs,

Gosh, you ladies are busy today! Today's workout was 45 strength training at the Fitness Center and 45 minutes of cardio on the elliptical. No running today.

Have a great night everyone,

Katrina:)

Hey Ladies:) Our internet took an early (and long) Labour Day vacation last Thursday, we had technical help in today and YAAAYYY!! WE'RE RE-CONNECTED!!!:) I missed checking in and seeing what everyone has been up to. I'll spend the evening catching up with what's been going on here this past week but wanted to (needed to) check-in.

I ran 17k on Sunday and it was my best long run yet. Monday was an easy 6k and today I had a 'fun day' with StepWorks and PS chest/shldrs/tris. I had such a fabulous run on Sunday that I am looking forward to the half in a whole new way. I did the bulk of my training in crazy hot temperatures and am finding a whole new stride in this gorgeous cool fall air.

Okay I'm off to peruse the blog and Cheetah threads to see what I've missed this last week. I'm so glad to be back with my Cheetahs!!:)

Take Care
Laurie

Hello Cheetahs, I just wanted to stay in touch. Selfishly, of coarse because check ins keep me motivated.
My runs have been so so but I'm not stopping.
My DS started 4th grade yesterday. I love having the household back on a schedule.
My week has been 5m, abs; ME abs; 3m 20min stretch; off; 6m abs; PUB; SB abs; LG 20min bike; BC&ME combo abs; 4m,abs; GSCT 20min bike; easy day today doing WHFN's Fast Cheetah because I was tired but didn't want to do just nothing. I plan to run 6 miles tomorrow
I've been really trying to balance keeping up my running and not overtraining.
Off to bed.
Collen:*

I just entered that 5k on Sept 23rd!:+ :7 :+

I also thought I heard at my class tonight that there IS a race that they enter as a class at the end of it! If so, that's very cool! I just hope the weather isn't fowl that day! LOL

Hey Wendy:) I just caught up with what's gone on here since I was cut off last Thursday:+ Too bad about last Saturday but it just wasn't meant to be! Good for you for signing up for another run:) Surely the weather will be better!!!

Take Care
Laurie:)
