:::Cheetahs::: Tuesday, August 29th :::

Wendy - I'm with ya too! If I sleep past 6, I feel like I'm wasting the entire day! So, you're not the only weird one!

I'm stoked for HSTA!! I'll let you know what I think when I get it!

Yep me too! Let us know how you like it. I don't have a high step (or regular step, for that matter!) either, I have a huge wish list for Christmas! I love getting new exercise DVD's/ gear for holidays/ bdays!! ;-)

Hugs,

Thanks Jess...I hope my nephew gets a push!! I have always done weight work for my lower body as a runner. Some believe in it and some don't. It is another one of those things of 'whatever works"...:)

Wendy...yes, the sooner John gets into rehab the better it will be for him..

Laurie...have to tell you, I treated myself to a massage today...:)...she said my feet and my calfs were the worst off...I must need some comfy shoes! I don;t know what other people are in rehab with John. There is one guy though 19 and his injury is a bit worse than John's, but his hopes are a bit higher, so maybe just some time. I know once he gets there, he will wnat to work and lok forward to leaving.

Gayle..good job on the Elliptical today!

Katie...I usually don't have a problem doing a run after legwork. I have done that for years. I am so glad your back is doing better...:)

Christine...thanks for the hugs...:)..I am praying he gets thru this...You got in a good workout today! Your DH sound just like mine when the UPS guy shows up! I like that you used my happy dance!!!

Shelly...I do go heavier in leg work than Cathe most of the time. High 5 to us older cheetahs!!! Enjoy your 9 miles and CTX upper! Yes, I am certain it is denial with John. I think the nurses just need to drag him down to therapy!!

I just did my run this morning, so PLB standing this afternoon now that my massage therapist has fixed my body!!!

So far today, I wrote my first paper for one of the two new classes I’m taking this semester…and I went on a cleaning TEAR. Getting rid of lots of clothes, books, and junk. I plan to run a little later and might do MM u/b again. I have been playing my workouts by ear.

Carole :: I hope John comes around re: the rehab. It must be so hard to keep fighting and pushing himself all the time.

Wendy :: it has been about 5 years since I last ran a race of any length. I’m definitely not in the kind of shape I used to be in…but getting there…slowly! :) I’m running this one with a friend who is a beginning runner. She agreed to enter after I promised to let her set the pace and I’d stick with her to the end. So, I’m making our goal just to finish under 35.

Laurie :: hope you enjoyed your easy 5K and stayed dry.

Gayle :: Your question reminded me of a friend who was an avid mountain biker…he once entered a race with me, and thinking he was super fit for anything, went “balls to the wall” so-to-speak. Wound up on crutches ‘cause he overdid it. Not that that story is really relevant to anything. lol I just thought of it.

Katie :: that’s great that your back is “back” in commission. Hope it stays that way.

Christine :: I always liked night races. This one concludes with a complimentary pasta buffet and beer. :) Sorry you got busted on the step.

Wendy and Jess :: I’m a morning person, too, and feel like I wasted the day if I “sleep in.” Late for me (when it’s not a school day) is 7:30 – 8:30. I love getting things done while the rest of the world is still snoozing…

Well, I did get lucky as the SECOND UPS package I got arrived well after DH left! That one was supposed to arrive tomorrow - whoever heard of 2nd day air taking 1 day?! Amazon ships fast! These were books, though. So, I can now read while I step. (hmm, as clumsy as I am...) DH can't be too mad - he's taking me out to lunch.

No additional cardio for me today- I'm going to take it easy. Had my Unemployment class. Man, talk about a waste of time! I had to drive all the way out there (about 15 minutes - and yes, Carole, it WAS about 15 minutes...) to learn that the best way to get a job is through networking. To quote my daughters, "DUH!"

Cathy - I meant it when I said it sounds interesting. I've never raced at night (I'm such a morning person it would be interesting to test my mettle at night). Good luck and have fun!!! And the pasta and beer party?! Heck, I'll run a 5k for that! And no worries on the step - I may get ragged a bit for it, but hey, I'll get to keep it and use it. I can handle a few, "Why do you need that?'s" }(

Cathy: Have fun at the race! That's great that u r running it with a friend. The only person I could even think of convincing would be my DH but he wouldn't be able to run w/me-I'd be way too slow for him. Actually though, that's not true. I intend to keep in touch w/the one girl from my class. Maybe we can enter some races together in the future...we'll see!:)

Christine: I can't wait for you to get HSTA now! I want to hear what you think! I was blown away!!!

Edited to Add:

So tomorrow is my last scheduled run (on TM) before Saturday's race. I know the race is not a long one but it's tough because of all of the hills...so what kind of run would you suggest for tomorrow in term so length and intensity??? TIA!:+

OK, I skipped my run tonight...we had tornado warnings til 8 pm, and it was too dark after that. I should've run in the AM, but I'd agreed on an evening run to accommodate my friend's schedule. Oh well. Sometimes weather gets in the way. Did MM, though. Whoo!

Wendy :: I don't think I'm the best one to chime in with advice as I don't normally run on TMs, but I can tell you this...my daily route always ends with a massive hill, and I always found that it was great training for the final stretch of any race. Pushing hard uphill always allowed me to kick it in at the finish. So, given that your course will be hilly and you've got two rest days ahead, I'd say program a hilly run, push pretty hard, and save some juice for the end.

Well, it seems to be a quiet night. Cheetahs must be gettin' their rest. :) Sounds good to me. I have a few chapters to read for class (I'm SO over being a student again), so I'm gonna put the feet up and try to stay awake. :)

Talk to you tomorrow~
Cathy

PS...For those who suggested Power Hour/MIS/BodyMax and BC/ME, I just scored both on ebay. Yippee! Can't wait til they arrive. My Jari Loves are a little slow gettin' here, too! Anyway, thanks again for the recommendations.:)

Hi Cathy.

Sorry you missed your run. That's a bummer!:-(

Thanks for your input!:) I considered some hills but then wondered if that would be overkill a few days prior. I'm so confused! LOL

Don't fall asleep while you are reading!:p
