Good morning, everyone.

Another day starting already. I feel like I just went to sleep! lol (Opening couple of weeks of school usually feel this way.) Anywho, definitely NO rest for me this afternoon. I'd like to get in a run and do some type of UB weights.

Wendy :: I would think using the stroller on the shoulder of the road would be OK as long as it's not TOO heavily trafficked and you go against traffic. Good luck getting used to that thing! They look heavy.

Jess :: enjoy your solo run today.

Judy :: don't blame you for not wanting to drive so far to run. Forty minutes is a lot to lose out of your day.

Colleen :: did the High Step require a lot of coordination or is it mainly endless leg presses and other painful things?

Adri :: the tapes went out yesterday afternoon. Enjoy!

Carole :: thanks again for the rotation help!

hello everyone,

I have been having trouble getting all my workouts in the past week. I dont want to get up in the mornings these days and after work my boys always have something going on and we dont get home until after 8 oclock. I have to find a way to break this cycle before it continues. I told myself tomorrow I have to set the alarm clock and drag my as- out of bed,no excuses. we will see if I do it!!! It just is so hard fitting all of this stuff into your day when you have several kids doing stuff too.

carole thanks, speedwork definately helps but I was hoping to see even better results. I have dropped a minute off last yrs time but was hoping to get sub 25 on the 5ks and well since getting the bronchitis, it definately set me back and I feel I wont be able to meet my goal . How long does it take one to get faster after doing speedwork? I know I will never be a 20minute 5ker but I have seen people shave off over 2minutes just in the summer months. I cant seem to drop my time by that much even after several months.

I think I am going to do a half marathon at the end of this month , it is closer to home, I can drive to it that morning and my brother is going to do it also. Its called lighthouse to lighthouse half marathon. You run along the lake and go from one lighthouse to the other. It should be a pretty course to do.

No time for personals. I have to go to work this morning so I can't hang out here long...damn!x( LOL

It's either L&G or a full body endurance work out for me today. I can't make up my mind. I created a rotion for the time leading up to my race but it's not set in stone yet. I have a lot going on from now through the weekend so I need to make sure whatever I plan to do is feasable time-wise.

I haven't heard back about the stroller yet but I'm sure I will hear something soon. The road I run on is considered a "main drag" in my town but is not busy at the times when I would run. I just get a bit worried cause there is one section where the road is not too wide and could have cars parked...on my own I will run around the cars (into the street, not to the sidewalk) but with DS I am wondering if I should hit the sidewalk for safety purposes? I guess I will do what I feel comfortable with at the time.

G'morning Cheetahs!! I slept great last night, my body must need this extra rest!! I slept from 10 - 6:30!! Got the girls off to school & when I drop Allison off at preschool at 9 I'll head out for my 4 mile solo run. It's supposed to rain again, so we'll see if I get stuck running in the rain! Oh well I'll run regardless! Gotta get it done & I'm itching to run anyway!

Then I might do the stability ball floorwork from PLB & abs from PUB and another Pilates DVD (but I might have to do this in the afternoon!). Because by then it will be time to pick her up again!

Cathy...hope you can get in your workout...I didn't seem to want to get up today myself...slept in til 5:30! You are welcome...:)

Laura...we are all different as far as getting faster from Speedwork. Running with someone faster also helps. If there are any running clubs around you, joining those can really help. I know it is tough with kids...that sounds like a fun half marathon...:)

Wendy...I hope work is getting better for you. I think the stroller will just take some getting used to. I know you will do the safest route for Joey...

Jennifer...have a great time in Hawaii!!!! I am so envious...:)

Adri...have a good day at school...and yes picture day sounds fun..:)

Jess..hope the rain holds out for your run today..

I am doing PLB standing and a 6 mile run...

Quick post and I'll check in later to see what everyone's been up to.:) I ran a labourious 6k today, took me 2 or 3k to feel limber and I ended up having to stop for a bathroom break. I think the colder temps are making my bladder shiver or something:+ It was a good run in the end (the end was the best part;-) :7 ). Gotta get Faith to the orthodontist in 30 minutes..........*exit stage left*:7

Good Morning All!

Nice to be home, although at 3AM I was WIDE awake! Darned time changes!!! :) I’m thinking I’ll do a 50 minute Spinervals workout followed by ME. I haven’t done ME in ages! Time to clean up the diet, too!

Cathy – Good luck getting in your run! HSTA is just one thing after another with no rest. Cathe is even breathless during this one! There are some different types of exercises that you don’t normally see, so that’s pretty cool. It’s a tough one, but FUN! (Okay, I’m weird).

Laura – my half is like that – close to home – 15 minutes away. Good luck on that! I’m no speed demon, so I’ll always be back-of-the-packer, but I’m just thrilled to be running! iTrains have some speed work that is good and different. You might want to look into them. They have helped me speed up a bit.

Wendy – my sister’s jogger has a locking mechanism for the front wheel. I’ll bet yours is like that too. Here in Cali we have bike paths in the street, so I would feel comfortable running there – are your streets wide? If it’s low traffic I say to go for it!

Jennifer – OH HAVE FUN IN HAWAII! WHICH ISLAND??

Adri – my DD’s always look forward to picture day!

Jess – hope the rain holds off!!

Carole – Enjoy your run, Carole! Hope John continues to do well!

Just a quick check-in before I take the girls to school. I am going to run 5.5 miles today at a slow pace and then do muscle max upper body. I will be back later to chat!!!

I beat the rain! It looked a bit dark, but then, the sun started to shine as I was almost done. I got in my 4 mile run plus a little extra at the end. Dumb dog, had to run back a bit to get him to follow me home so I just stopped the Garmin at 4 & jogged much slower probably .5 miles home. I was supposed to run my 2 middle miles faster (according to my training plan) & ran them in 8:40 & 8:37 so I was happy with that. I know, not fast like my 5K's but that's not my goal w/ the marathon! ;-)

I decided I'm just going to relax a bit while Allison is gone at school & will do my other workout this afternoon while she naps. I'm trying to enjoy the peace & quiet while it lasts!! :)

Hi ladies. I'm still here. My back feels so much better. I have just been doing some light weights, abs, push-ups, etc. on my own for now and hopefully next week can begin some Cathe again. I will need to start slowly and get back in the groove without risking injury again. I'll probably do a CTX rotation or something. I'll have to see how my back does in the next couple weeks before I decide when I can start running again. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be doing the 5K I was planning on in early October.;(

Hope all you ladies are doing well. Keep up the great work! I'll be back with you soon!

Katie - glad to hear your back is better, but I'm sorry you can't run your 5k! There will be other races, but I know it's not the same. {{{HUGS}}}

I'm doing a check in from school on my laptop. Not supposed to but I'm in study hall fro 45 mins. I love talkin to you guys!! Your so great:D Anyway, I'll do a few personals, how many I can before gettin caught or before SH is over.

Jess- Glad you got a good sleep cheetah. Us cheetahs need our sleep:7 Hope you enjoy your run, PUB, and pilates later!!!

Carol- Enjoy PLB and your run! Sweat hard}(

Laurie- LOL:+ I haven't heard of any studies saying that cold weather triggers our bladder during runs..But I'l look into it.LOL:+ Other than that I hope you enjoyed your run. Don't take any candy at the dentists}( Save that for the kids:p LOL

Christine- I think exercising makes us like SUPER awake all the time
}( Its almost impossible for me to get to sleep on time. I need to take a sleeping pill every night! Haev fun w/ ME. My Mom told me that W/O fries her biceps}( Enjoy.

Susan- Enjoy your run and MM upper bodygirlh;-)

Katie- I'm glad your back is feeling better. Good choice. Take it slow as you progess back into your W/O. Don't rush it girl. Let your back get back into the groove of things. In no time you'll be back to normal and a fantastic cheetah;-)

Greetings from smokey California!

Hopefully there will be some improved containment of all these fires here out West. The fires make me sad, but I also hate this smoke in the air because it is really messing with the asthma. I have been able to use my treadmill and Cathe DVD’s indoors so that helps. I also have been having weekly (yeah, that’s right, weekly) massage therapy that only costs me $45 a session. Also, I start to see a chiropractor on Friday and that will also only cost me $5 per visit because of my awesome health insurance. Combined, I think these treatments are the best in helping with my lingering hip and lower back issues caused from my fall on the trail last year.

Anyway, hello and welcome to all the new cheetahs posting lately, Jennifer, Susan, Colleen, Katrina and a few others I’ve seen (Adri, your posts are too cute!). I ‘ve been able to pop in here and there to read up a bit but just now I’m able to take a few and post. I miss being able to get in some almost daily personals but I just have not had the time lately.

Laura, your finish times seem great to me but I understand we all have personal goals to achieve. I still think you do a good job with your workouts regardless of what you have going on, so be nice to yourself and sometimes just relax and run without the pressure of having a fast time. I also have weeks where I am too tired to wake up so early and end up being more pissed because I overslept. I’ll tell ya, sometimes when I do that (oversleep) I seriously feel like calling in to work sick just so I can have the time to get my workout in for the day!

Kudos to Laurie and Wendy with the progress in running, and JESS!, you are totally gonna rock in your marathon! Wish we could all be there in the CHEETAH cheering section. Yeah, that’s it, I could dress in a cheetah costume too! LOL –I would seriously do that too if I lived closer to ya’ll.

Cathy – I hear ya about that wake up feeling like ya just went to bed! I gotta hand it to you though, to be able to teach a bunch of kids all day and then be ready for a workout? Wow…

Carole - Good to hear about John’s progress. I have to say you have really been planting enabling thoughts in my head about owning my own elliptical and the NEWEST model Garmin! Sheesh, I think the only thing stopping me right now is where the heck would I put the elliptical in my house? Dang, I guess I really need to start pressuring DH again about us building me my OWN garage.

Katie – I’m happy to hear you’re doing better. I know what a struggle it is to have injuries and problems with the lower back. I hope you can get back to running when you are better. Do you still have plans for the Arizona half in January? I’ll be there and running that one but I’m as slow as a mule (but strong like our buddy Shelley reminds me) and probably will be having a 2:10 – 2:20 finish time.

Christine! STEP AWAY FROM THE HUSH PUPPIES! LOL – yeah, you’re cracking me up because I would be doing the same! It seems that anytime I set foot on a plane to anywhere, the brain gets everyone thinking we are going to be attending an eatfest! Glad to hear you had a great trip though. Are you all ready for your half? I may run that one next year if you come back with a good review of the course!

LOL - well, really I'm a mule but the cheetahs are nice enough to keep me around. This is my favorite place to be on the Cathe forums but I haven't been able to post as often as I'd like lately. I do miss when I can't hang out here though, because as you have probably already discovered, these cheetahs are the best friends a girl could have! ;-)
 
OMG you spoke my mind!!! Since I'm back in school (8th grade!!) I miss talking to the cheetahs in the morning. But I try to wake up early enough to do a quick check in. I just lOVE talking to them. They are so great its like they're better than any of my friends at school. They start my day in a positive way! I love it here:)

Hi gals. No time for personals. Just wanted to post my work out for today:

I stayed with lower body only but I opted out of L&G. I did a mish mosh of Jari l/b work instead:

L&G: warm up
RttC: reverse lunges, plie squats
S&L: single leg & plie squats, lunges
Ripped: squats, plie squats, inner/outer thigh work, dead lifts
L&G: stretch

Hope to have time for some personals later on tonight!:)

I just finished run. I did 6.2 miles and it felt great. It could have been a little faster, but it was a feel good run.

Cathy, enjoy your workout today.

Laura, I too struggle lately with getting everything in. I do get all my workouts in, but then other things in life slip. It is hard to stay motivated sometimes. I am sure you will get back into.

Wendy, good luck witht the stroller situation and have fun with legs and glutes.

Jennifer, have a great time on vacation. I have never been to Hawaii.

Adri, hope you smiled pretty at the camera.

Carole, you must really like PLB. I notice you do that one often. I will have to give it a go sometime again. I remember I did not like changing the plates so often. Hope you have a great workout!
