Susan ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Sounds like a fabulous day!! Mexican food & Mrs. Fields cookie- what a great bday treat!

Hope your dd is feeling better soon!! I think it would kill Hannah to not be able to run & jump around! Take care!

Hi All -

This morning will be a quick post, unfortunately. Glad everyone liked the recipes! I really like both of those. The Mac and Cheese is a family favorite. I usually make it with the low carb Penne Pasta (that has more fiber and protein).

This morning I was wide awake. I managed to get in a Shelly style workout. LOL. ME abs, GS Chest and Tri superset premix and Big Gear Strength on the bike. I tell ya, the shoes made a huge difference - and if you ever want to really strengthen your hip flexors and quads, try this one with bike shoes w/ cleats. Also, if you take a lot of Spin classes, it's definitely worth the investment of shoes with cleats - pick up a decent pair on sale and the cleats are $15/$17 additional. A good shop will put them on for you. I could not believe the difference this made. I could take advantage of the full spin and it was a spin - not just pedaling. Plus, the other thing I like is that the shoes have a steel shank in them so when you stand and pedal you have full support and are not expending unnecessary strength and focus balancing on your toes.

Susan - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Hope you have a wonderful celebration with your family. Mrs. Fields cookie sounds like a nice treat. Sorry to hear dd is confined to crutches. Hope she heals fast.

Kristi - Nothing wrong with planning those future workouts. Yeah, I want to try the Freestyle just for something different. You know, confuse the ol' bod.

Christine - Glad you like the new shoes. Sounds like just what you needed.

Thanks for the birthday wishes cheetahs:) I just finished a great workout. I did the bodymax2 cardio and weights premix. It was just what I needed to today. I then did the butts and gutts lying leg work. I am ready for my eat fest tonight.

I am off to get Mariah and will be back later.

P.s. did you see the road trip info? Who is going?

Susan

Oh, I wish I could go!! There's no way I could afford the flight, roadtrip expenses, and hotel. I'm sure everyone will have a blast & I can't wait to hear all about it!!!

Enjoy your eat fest!

Well, I think it must have been something I ate. I'm feeling better this afternoon, although still a bit queasy to my tummy & haven't eaten much. I took an hour nap after dropping Allison off at school, talk about feelin' lazy! I needed it though.

Our friends are still coming for dinner, I decided I cn handle it. I have some chicken breasts marinating, and some pork steaks, and I'll make twice baked potatoes (and some sweet potatoes), fruit salad, veggies & dip, etc. I'm looking forward to catching up w/ my bf, we've both been busy & haven't had time to chat like we used to.

Ok, just taking a little break. I disinfected the bathrooms & kitchen and just need to run the vacuum & sweep. :) I'm taking today as a rest day, just don't have the energy to work out. I'll make up for it once I'm feeling better. :p

Another HAPPY BIRTHDAY wish to you, Susan!

As for the road trip.....it's already on my calendar. I can't wait! I hope a bunch of Cheetahs will be there! I wonder, with all the activities that Cathe has planned, if we can sneak in a group run! LOL

Gayle

Good Afternoon Ladies.

Well, I blew off my run after work as I was having stomach issues at the time. Thank god they were short lived. I was picturing that Noro Virus coming on!

So after a short and slightly rejuvinating nap I ended up doing the warm up and blasts from KickMax and then moved on to the evil Leg Blast Premix but I shortened it thereby making it not quite so evil. Although doing it after those blasts DID add a challenge back into it as my legs were pre-exhausted! I did each exercise in the premix ONCE instead of 2-3-4 times like Cathe has you do! }(

It was a good work out for a tired, on the edge of getting-sick chick, I think! ;)

I have already marked the RT on my calender and printed out the post from Cathe so I will remember to be on line at EXACTLY 12 noon on Friday to sign up!!!:7 :7 :7

That's all for now...BBL!

:)

>>>I wonder, with all the activities that Cathe has planned, if we can sneak in a group run! LOL<<<

OMG, Gayle...How cool would that be!?!?! :7 }( :+

Oh no! A cheetah group run at the road trip? Ack!!! I don't know if I'll be able to resist now.... my poor checkbook:eek:
I got in a great workout with the DM leg blast premix and then PP upper bodyx2. A few sick cheetahs today, hopefully nothin serious but most of ya are sounding in fine form!!

Gayle- Awesome workout with the 6 miles and Leaner Legs. I haven't done that one in a while!

Linda- I don't know how you manage such long intense workouts in the morning before work! You are amazing  I'm lucky about where I live with races. I live in N. Ariz about 2 hrs N. or Phoenix. During the winter there are plenty of races in Phoenix and during the summer there's plenty of activities up close to where I live.
The one on Saturday is in the foothills just north of Phoenix. In fact, it's called the Foothills 10k and it will be my first race as a 50 y/o

Carole- Thanks for the BBC review!! How is the hip/glute doing?

Jess- Glad your illness seems short lived!!!

Jackie- Count me in as being an one armed push up weenie!!!

Susan HAPPY BIRTHDAY:+ :+ :+ Hey cheetahgal, like a fine wine, you
just improve with age:7 Sounds like you have a fun day planned,
Great workout!!!! Now go enjoy:7 :7

Christine- Oh no.... a "shelly" workout? And I thought you were sensible!!!! (lol) Do the cleats on your bike shoes work like clips on a pedal so you can pull up as well as push down? I imagine that really intensifies your workout.

SunnyD- Your everyday routine sounds like a workout to me!!!

Time to get moving. I have to take my "birdy" dog to the vet for a post op check up. Later y'all.

I'm thinkin I'm probably going to get "enabled" into going on this roadtrip!

Just stopped by to say thanks to Carole, Linda, Christine and Cathy for their running & weights suggestions.

Right now I'm following Cathes Mar. rotation and doing running for cardio like Carole had said.

Next month I want to try the easy run/ short upper Monday, total body weights Tuesday, Temp run Wed./ easy run short lower Thurs./ total body weights Fri./ Long run and stretch Sat. / Sunday collapse.

Hello to SunnyD, Shelly, Susan (Happy Birthday), Jesse, Gail, Mattea and any and all Cheethas.

I'm checking in over at the age 50 (as in I wish I still was 50)check in but I love seeing what you super gals are up to.

Love,

Colleen in Minneapolis. The ice on the lake is melting! yea!

Hello all - I'm back....Well, workout was altered slightly. DS came in to my office after school with a tummy ache so I couldn't get my run in, but I did do Chest and Back X when I got home. He's doing fine now, I think he was just sick of riding the bus so he decided to have a tummy ache.;-)

I was looking at our calendar of events coming up in our family and my scheduled 1/2 for the end of May will probably not happen. So, now I'm kind of stuck with what to do.

I think I will continue on with the doubles X rotation and run as much as I can for any of the X cardio, except KenpoX-I HAVE to do that one, and do shorter races that I wouldn't have to put all my training effort into, ya know? Does that make sense? If I stick with 10K's or lower for the spring/summer months and then maybe get the Twin Cities 1/2 Marathon in there in October I'll be doing good.

Hopefully with the Doubles Rotation I can lose this weight. I just can't seem to get the scale to go below 190 and I want/need to lose about 50 - UGH!!!

Any thoughts?

Have a great night,
Marcia.

Susan :: Happy birthday!!! Hope you enjoyed your dinner out!! Only a cookie? No cake?? Only a disciplined cheetah could pull that off. WTG, birthday girl!…Ut oh, that is too bad about DD. She’ll go crazy not being able to jump around in 2 days? Hmmm, sorta sounds familiar, huh? ;) Hope she heals quickly!…Re: the road trip…I am thinking I am going.

Sunny :: hope you either enjoyed a rest night or a good workout, if you were able to muster up some energy at the end of the day. Sounds like you were super busy.

Wendy :: sorry you’re a bit under the weather…the doubles really isn’t that bad…In the past, I often piggy-backed runs with weight workouts, and I seemed to get good results that way…we’ll see if this little tweak gives me even better results. I see changes, but I need the scale to MOVE!...Congrats on the nice return!…Do not say NORO! I don’t want you to get that – our GTG is Saturday!! :) Yes, that was none-too-shabby a workout for a sick chick! Good job!

Marcia :: yes, I do that occasionally ~ doze in front of the TV and then I’m down for the count. Like a 92-year-old woman. :) But hey, I need my sleep!…I love the X! I almost busted a gut today when Tony said, “That feels dandy-good!” His expressions are priceless. And actually, what really amused me – it was the first time I did CST today...when the screen said “One Armed Pushups,” I said out loud, “One armed pushups??? Is he crazy?!” And a split-second later, he said the exact same thing. Hope you had a good run & B&C workout.

Judy :: it’s nice that you all were able to laugh at some fond memories…I agree – there is plenty of crying & feelings of terrible loss and heaviness at a time like this, so being able to think of some positive & light-hearted moments which celebrate his life is, as Carole put it so well, good for the soul. Hope all went well for Nina.

Kristi :: so sorry to hear about the sudden & premature loss of your aunt…thoughts are with you and your family as well.

Shelly :: whoo, look at you with a luxurious 6-night stretch off – enjoy! Thank you – I do feel like I’m getting back up-to-snuff.

Gayle :: I have no races planned for awhile…One of my co-workers wants me to do Broad Street…I’d thought about it earlier but think I will pass this year. Great job upping the barbell to 40. Go, Arnold!

Linda :: great workout today! I am definitely feeling better, thanks.

Carole :: love reading the thoughts on Barry…I’m sorry things aren’t looking good for your cat. :( ((((HUGS)))) What an awful feeling not knowing where he is.

Jess :: nope, you definitely didn’t have Noro or there is no way you’da even looked at an English muffin and coffee!! This one puts you out a good 24-72 hours – and it is the most VILE illness ever!! Glad you feel better and were able to enjoy dinner with your friends.

Jackie :: I agree, SCT really hammers you with pushups. I could not do the one-armed, either.

Christine :: whoa, that’s a hardcore workout you did there! WTG!

Colleen :: hey there! Happy melting! :)

I just finished SCT, ARX, and 20 min. of k’boxing (from 10 Min. Solutions K’boxing). Now I’m off to down a bowl of cereal and hit the couch.

Have a great night, all!
Cathy :)

I have some really sad news. My dog Tucker - aka Sir Tucker Boo, aka FurryButt, aka the wondermutt, was hit by a car today and killed. I'm absolutely devastated. I cannot even think straight. He was the best dog I have ever had - the smartest, the sweetest, the most wonderful. I'm going to miss his smile and his tailess wiggles. No one is going to be there with me in the garage in the morning when I work out and wiggle at me encouragingly every time it gets tough. Or lick me when I'm trying to hold a stretch and make me laugh. I'm definitely a Cheetah in deep mourning.
