::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Tuesday, 3/13

Hi everybody. I'm an Idol fan. First timer, actually. I missed out on a lot of discussions last year so I wanted to watch this season!

Just coming to read your posts and catch up. I just got done with workout #2 of the day. DS is with a friend, so I did GS Legs. I increased my weights too. I'll be sore tomorrow! LOL

OK...time to chow on lunch and get some stuff done around the house here! Think I'll go outside and wash my car. It's black, but looks white with all the salt stuff from the winter roads! LOL

Sorry, no personals again from me. But I promise I read everything!!!!

Gayle

Okay,I am back to finish my peronals:)

Wendy, I really admire your discipline with this p90x rotation. I am glad you have had good results. It is odd that your body fat went up. Do you think that is from not doing so much cardio? How much weight did you lose? Do you plan on doing this again after you are done? I actually used to love to lift heavy, but I look better when I do the endurance based workouts. ARe yoi still enjoying the running?

Linda, Happy B-day. Are you going to indulge in a yummy piece of cake? You are probably much more disciplined than I am when it comes to sweets}( Are you doing anything special tonight? I hope you feel better soon:)

Kristi, busy day yesterday for you. It is amazing how much we can all get in on a day, especially with the time constraints from little ones. I love getting pics taken of my girls. I could never have enough. My hubby gets slightly annoyed with all the new frames I am buying all the time. They are only young once though:)

Hello to anyone I may have missed. I am off to pt appointment and then to PUB. Have a great day friends.

Susan

Hey Cheetah Babes –

I’m back. Ended up doing UpHill Grind and the Push/Pull premix from MM and I added on the abs. It was a good workout! UpHill Grind was merciless! After a 3 minute soft pedal warm up, he did his usual 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off at medium tension (on a bike – big gear on front, 15 on the back). After a 1 minute rest we did two 2 minute sessions where you are a lighter tension, but you pedal as fast as you can for 10 seconds, then you get 10 seconds to soft pedal and repeat for the 2 minutes (my HR was high on this one!). Then it was 4 sets of 5 minute hill simulations where you alternated between medium and high tension, standing and sitting with the last minute being a lighter tension – but a fast spin “down hill”. And we finished with a 3 minute session of the 10 sec/10 sec. I was DRENCHED afterwards.

Cathy – I wouldn’t actually buy one of those bikes. They’re fun to ride at the gym, but I would think it would be boring after a while. Nice change of pace, though. Hope you’re feeling better! Core Synergistics is different – functional fitness at it’s best. It’s tough – but doable. And I actually like it – except for the Dreya rolls – can’t seem to get my fat a$$ up.

Sunny – what did you decide on today?

Marcia – enjoy your run in the lovely weather. Nothing like nice weather to make running a joy. Which X did you end up doing?

Laura – oh yeah – keep doing what you’re doing. You’re a good instructor. Sorry you brother is having difficulties with his class, though. Don’t know what to tell you on that – only that you’re not wrong.

Gayle – sounds like you had a really nice day – I love days like that. When you just pitter around getting things done while doing and seeing and enjoying yourself. Way to go. And YES I would love your Spinervals. I’m happy to send $$ or I have a trade list posted at VF (http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=100145) if you see anything you like there, let me know and we can trade!

Shelly – enjoy your rest day. You’re too funny. But obviously what you do gets results! Glad you had a sweatfest yesterday! Enjoy your cardio rest day!

Judy – what a morning!! I feel for you – I sometimes awake to doggie tummy problems and have messes to clean up before coffee, too – so I totally understand. It’s not fun at all. Hope your day gets better!

Carole – great news on the massage! I’m hoping you get much better quickly!! Odd not to have our favorite Super Cheetah out there grinding up the long miles.

Jackie – sounds like you have a great workout on tap. I know what you mean about the gym. I go back and forth on whether I like it. I DO NOT like dealing with the showers and the other women most of whom are really nice, but the occasional rude, obnoxious one is the one who I always remember (and want to practice my kick boxing on!)

Wendy – I think BF can be confusing to measure. If everything else went down, then I’m sure your BF did as well – especially if you’re liking the results. So, are you going to post your photos? And YES I figure I have 4 more weeks of being indecisive before I have to hand the baton back to you! I’m planning on enjoying it!

Linda – sorry you’re not feeling too well on your Birthday! I’m glad you get to deal with it at home, though! I agree – it’s your birthday you can play hooky if you want to! :+ Sorry – ended up doing the Spinervals and the UpperBody workouts.

Kristi – wow! Busy lady!! Sounds like you’ve been doing at getting your workout in though!

Susan – Oh yeah, gorgeous and again I’m stuck inside. *Sighs* Oh well – it’s supposed to be fabulous this weekend, too. Glad you can enjoy it! I like American Idol – but don’t get to watch it too much. My DD14 is boycotting this season now that Sundance was voted off.

Hope everyone is having an incredible Tuesday! I'm busy, but in a good way - busy with quotes I CAN do, not problems. So I'm enjoying that. DH is cooking tonight, so I get some chicken curry. I'm hoping I can keep my consumption to a minimum, but...

Susan,

I initially lost some body fat w/the reduction in cardio so I don't think it's that. I think it's because my eating has not been all that great this past month. I just don't get how the BMI went down if the BF went up?? I only lost a pound from last time and 2.5 pounds total from the start. My BF is still lower then where I started but slightly higher than the last time I took it. Things that make ya go HMMMMMMM! LOL I will do another X rotation for sure but not for a while. My body needs the break...it's a tough schedule to keep for 3 solid months! Thank goodness for the recovery weeks or I'd be dead right now! ;) :p :7

Back and Biceps/ARX is DONE DONE DONE! WOOH!}(

I played with my weights, upped some and lowered reps, lowered some and added reps, etc. I am liking this work out more now then I did the first time. I was able to increase my strip set weights this week which made me VERY happy!:+ :+ :+ I may not have full use of my arms tomorrow but that's okay....:7 :7 :7 :7

Arx was KILLER as usual!!!! }( }(

So tomorrow is my Cathe leg day and possibly a step class in the evening. I am thinking B&G is an order...I just have to decide if it's going to be the full work our or a premix!:)

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Wendy - Are you back to your chatty self today?:) I think your numbers look good. My BF went up to with P90X. I figured it was because I added so much cardio to it. As long as you're loving you, that's all that matters.

Linda - Hope you can shake that nasty cold. I only got the basic set of Hip Hop Abs. I use them mostly for add ons and the standing ab work. I think they're fun workouts but nothing intense. They're very good for an easy day. I hear the Level 2 give you a much better workout. I do feel like I'm learning to do a hip hop dance.

Kristi - Sounds like a busy day for you yesterday. I don't blame you for not wanting to take too much time away from your family.

Susan - I think I watched season 2 of Idol. I might watch every now and then but not often. I have really gotten into Dancing With the Stars. Slim Series is mostly weight. Don't know if Debbie knows what cardio is. IMO, they're not hard workouts. It's just a lot of reps. I usually lift pretty heavy but with these, I use whatever Debbie is using. I like the workouts and would like them even better if they were no more than an hour long.

Gayle - Great job on increasing your weights. Did you get that car sparkling clean?

Christine - Sounds like you got a good workout today. Hey, watch that kick boxing. Don't want to read about you in the paper. :) Understand what you mean though. Hated showering at the gym. Miss the spin classes most.

Jackie

Hey Wendy! Great job on your results from P90X! How are you measuring your bodyfat? Calipers? Scale? If you are using a scale maybe it is not accurate. I think I read a while back that they can be off by 1-5%. Just a thought.

Yes, I'm getting excited about my HM. It is hard to believe it is only a little over 6 weeks away. If only my calf pain would subside then I would feel even better. As long as it does not keep me from finishing my HM then I'm okay. My goal is to finish, without walking, not time based. Currently my long runs are 7 miles, but this weekend I will be upping it to 8. After the HM then I will be lowering my mileage and going to try P90X again. Hopefully I can stick with the program like you have been.

Jackie - That is what I thought about doing, too. I thought they would be good to tack onto a TurboJam CP, or FatBlaster, etc. Seems like they would kind of go together, in a way.

Susan - Oh no! I am not disciplined at all when it comes to anything chocolate! I had my Snicker's sighting this afternoon! I love carrot cake and chocolate! It's funny, though...I don't like other kinds of cake that much.

Christine - Shoot! I was wrong on your workout, all the way around! Guess I am not psychic, after all! :+ It sounds like a great, tough workout that you did! Good job!

Wendy - Good job on the B&B and ARX! I'll be joining you tomorrow on a Cathe leg day! Not sure which one yet, though. Hang in there with the P90X. You are almost done and doing great!

Kristi - My goodness! You have really been busy! Hope your calf and foot gets better!

I don't think I am going to be doing anything for my birthday today. Friday I am going to dinner with my oldest daughter, SIL and my grandkids. Saturday with my Sister, her DH and my step mom. (and of course my DH!) Both will be fun!

Well, this afternoon I did GS BS&B. I just love GS's! I think I am going to start a GS and Hardcore rotation. Using MM and HSC. (and this morning was LowMax).

I have been thinking.....I "wonder"...seems like since I have stopped doing a lot of step, kickboxing and cut out a lot of my floorwork....my hip/leg/glute has been acting up. I just wonder if the abductor and adductor muscles have gotten weak? I used to do floorwork at least 4 times per week and with step and kickboxing...there is a lot of lateral movement and different crosstraining benefits. Since I started focussing on running, I have cut most of that out (but I have kept up with strength training). So now....when I do something different ...like step, kickboxing and do floorwork...I have pain. Okay...I am sorry...I will shut up now. But I am beginning to wonder if that is my problem.

Talk to you guys later!

Linda

Jackie...how do you like the Slim series? I think I have some of those workouts but not the tougher ones.

Wendy...I think you are getting good results, especially if the mirror says so! I did iTread #11 40 mins. I have not done the abs yet but will this afternoon. Good job with Back & Biceps and ARX!

Linda..I am happy you got the day off but sorry you are a bit under the weather. Yes, the piriformis was quite massaged out and it did hurt. But the soreness I normally felt getting up after sitting for awhile is gone! About your wondering. Running is tough on about any injury. I think floorwork is good to do and I have not done much myself. I do know though that step and kickbox have aggravated my piriformis a bit. But B&G ankle weight section didn't seem to.

Susan..I am watching the Idol. I have enjoyed the ladies alot, but IMO the guys stink!! I never told you that a snicker is my absolute favorite candy bar! Yes, the piriformis did get deeply worked on. I told my massage therapist to do whatever she could. I do still have some back pain on the other side, and not sure if sciatic is involved or not. She worked on that too. My chiro thinks it is something lumbar related which is why he wanted me to avoid high impact. It is tough not running but I might try for 2 short runs a week, after a good warm-up.

Christine...that does sound like a drenching workout! It is very odd not to be putting in the miles....:(...I got an email from a friend I met here (she does not post on the cheetah thread) and she has been doing 50K's...I am so jealous...:)..Enjoy your chicken curry.

I got a foam roller at Target to try today: http://secure.gofit.net/view_product.php?product=15135&x=35&y=8
It seems a bit thicker and shorter than the one Jess uses, but it came with a DVD and I will give it a shot. It is another beautiful day here 83 degrees! I need to plant some seeds and do some more housework...

Gayle - Just checking - were you going to email me or PM me the rotation with running and P90X? Just wnat to make sure I don't miss it. ;-)

Thanks, Marcia.

Carole - I got the same foam roller that you got. DH picked it up at Dick's for me. I also ordered Karen Voight's Sleek Essential foam roller. It is longer (around 36" and not quite as round). I also think it is a tad softer than the GoFit one. I use both of them and both are good. I was just thinking that when I did "all of these things" regularly, instead of just once in a blue moon...I didn't seem to have as much trouble. I don't know....I was younger then, too ;( I am so glad yours is going better now! That is awesome!

thanks everyone for the good wishes. We wont have the soil asample back for a few days but the guy told my husband that he thought it would be fine. YIPEE!!

thanks also for the support about my DB. I am very close to him and wouldnt want his feelings hurt.

I bought a foamroller at target sunday. It was 18$ since so many here have talked about them. Target also had some cute tanks I want to buy but DH was with me so I had to wait!!

wendy- your doing great on the X. My eating has always been my problem too. Keep up the good work!!

I was so tired after work that I didnt run but maybe later. If not I wont sweat about it. The new comany has us busting our tails and I am usually tired and stressed out by the end of the day.Talk with yuou all later!

Laura - $18.00 was a good deal on the foam roller! Yay! On the soil sample! Keeping fingers crossed!

Just a quick post to say I finished Core Syn. I liked it but as far as the Dreya roll goes, puleeeeaze. Are they insane?? *lol*

I promise I will post personals in the AM.

Love ya's!
Cathy :)

I know i kept you all in suspense today...drum roll please;) ...i did GS legs. I skipped on cardio today since i didn't do MM yesterday. tried doing a billy blanks workout i just bought (hated it) so i decided on a GS rotation.

have a nice night ladies!

*jumps up and down like a little kid at Christmas*

I got Barry's Bootcamp today!WOO HOO! I was heading out the door for MIL's when I saw the box on my steps! I was floored! It came so fast! I will start previewing them in just a few minutes. I just got home a little while ago. I need to get my decaf coffee and then I will be ready to roll...How bad would it be to take a break from the X next week to do all of the Barry's one time through to see how I like them before I commit to a rotation?? Is that bad or should I act like an adult and just wait until the X is complete? LOLOL }( :7 }( :7

Wendy - do you have a website for Barry's workouts? I'm just curious. ;-) I don't think it's bad to take a break for something different you can always combine em'.

I am trying to figure out a rotation for 1/2 marathon training and X. I love them both! I am going to do KenpoX tomorrow morning so if I'm not hear you know where I am - punching my way through the morning. My job is adding A LOT of emotional stress all over again, just when I thought I was dealing with it x( I was so busy over the weekend so I didn't get a chance to workout and that really set me back in my mind and how I feel. I know now that I NEED to exercise or all of this 'outside' stuff gets in and I can't cope.

OK - enough of my venting :) , thanks for listening. I figured that KenpoX would be good, I've got plenty of targets in my mind to punch and kick at }( }( }(

Have a great evening everyone!
Marcia.

Good Evening Cheetah friends,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LINDA!!! :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 I hope your day was fun.

My apologies for not posting much lately; it’s been busy at home and work. I’ll try to get some personals going in the next day or two. I’ve also been challenged with getting my running workouts in lately since Sears did NOT send my treadmill part expedited shipping as requested, so I’m still waiting for it…grrr. Don’t they know I’m in training??!?!?! LOL Tomorrow morning I’m going to give body max 2 a whirl in place of a 6 mile run. I'm hoping Cathe workouts will suffice for the weekday runs for now and get me ready for this weekend's 14 miler I'll do with my running buddy. Anyway, I better quit venting and get to sleep.

Post at ya later gals…
