:::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Tues., 2/13

Good morning everyone!

Cathy – I love Fluidity….but I only used it for around a month. I just did not have enough time to get in all that I thought I needed (with cardio, weights, Fluidity, Supreme Pilates, Yoga…the list was endless). So I went back to just weights and cardio.  I should use it, but it is gathering dust. I think you would love Fluidity, but I am not sure how you were planning on using it. I felt like I would need to do it several times a week, but I was so afraid to give up the weights. Since you have quite a bit of weight workouts and Fluidity is totally different from anything you have….maybe you should spring for it??

Jess – Thanks for the compliment on the pictures! I can’t figure out how to get the descriptions and names to show on the actual pictures, so I just deleted them and I will go home and try to figure it out later. Enjoy the snow day! I’ll bet the girls will have a ball!

Gayle – Enjoy your snow, too! We only have rain and some freezing rain 

Sunny – Enjoy CC! I love CC#6. (both of them! ;) )

Wendy – What about the lower body circuits from Body Max I and Body Max 2?

Christine – Yay! I am glad you are finally feeling better! Enjoy PH and your spin!

Carole – Hope your leg feels better! Enjoy GS Legs and whatever else you decide to do!

Barb – The section with the jogging backward is only a short section on one of the cardios. The other 3 treadmill cardio portions don’t do it. They are strictly running and incline intervals. You should have seen me trying it! It was not a pretty sight! Good job on the run, but sorry you had such cold and darkness to contend with!

Karen – Glad you are feeling better! Hmmm…the only other thing I can think of with your arm is maybe a pinched nerve and when you hold your arm above your head, maybe it is taking the pressure off of the nerve? But….I am definitely no doctor or nurse! ;)

Susan – Enjoy L&G and your ab workout! Yummy …cookies! On Mondays I ALWAYS eat pizza, chip and dip and junk! I “try” to be better during the week, but I can’t say that I always succeed ;)

Laurie – Good job on the kickboxing and upper body! Enjoy the snow, if you get it! I want some pretty snow! We had a lot last week, but today we only have freezing rain. Yuck 

This morning I did Barry’s Bootcamp Chest and Abs with the treadmill run section of this one. Then the floorwork of Firm Volume I.

Hi to anyone I may have unintentionally missed or that checks in later!

Linda

Hey ladies,
Just back for some personals.

Cathy, I am hoping my cheetah shirt comes today! I love getting stuff in the mail. I will post a pic too.

Sunnydelite,I can follow my own rotation, but never a Cathe one or someone elses. I should follow someone elses though, to shake it up a bit. Enjoy your run!

Marcia, sounds like you are enjoying the power90x. GLad you meeting wasn't too long:)

Wendy, what did you end up doing? Are you expecting something fattening and sweet tomorrow?

Gayle, sounds like a good workout. I have never been a swimmer. I wish I were because it is so good for the body, butI have never enjoyed it. Have fun getting your baby fix:)

JEss, I bet your kids love those snow days. What yummy treats are you guys going to make? Will your girls let you get a workout in?

Christine, I am glad you are feeling alot better. I have only done power hour once and I remember it about killed me. I will have to give it another go. A spin class too? WOW!, you are feeling better}( I think our next lunch date should be Thai food. Do you like Thai food? I love it! Here I am talking about food again...

Have a great day!

Carole, glad that your hams are feeling better. Maybe you should just do the ellipitcal instead of running to make sure your glute and hams are okay. I am hooked on massages now, thanks to your cheetahs:) I have been getting them now about every other week for about a half hour. It is funny though, because the areas that I think are tight are not usually the ones that they find are the tightest. I am my most tight in the upper shoulders, but my shoulders never bother me...hm Anyway, have a great workout!

Barb, great workout for you today. It is so nice to have the equipment at home for days that are dark and dreary. What standing leg work are you thinking of doing?

Karen, I have that happen to me while running when I have had my arms in a fixed position for a while. It looks like Laurie gave you some good advice. I hope it feels better.

Laurie, that cardio kicks is a great add on to a workout. It really is amazing all the options we have with all of these wonderful dvd's we all have. How is the ankle?

Well ladies, that is it for me right now. I am off to do legs and glutes, even though I really want to do butts and gutts, but I am shaking it up a little bit today.

Linda, we posted at the same time. The firm volume 1 is great for the lower body. I completely forgot about that one. I will have to see if I still have it... HAve a great day

Have a great day friends.

Susan

I’m back. Power Hour is done, the doggies walked and I’m feeling pretty good. What a difference a day makes, eh? Nice to remember that when I’m down in the dumps!

Jess – Sorry about the headaches. I know Barb gets them too and eats a Vegan diet to control them. But I think sometimes they just hit and there’s not much you can do about them. I’m lucky in that mine are not migranes – just sinus headaches.

Carole – sorry about the hamstrings! Hope you feel better today and can get in your run. And yeah, GS Cookies ALREADY! I gave ordered 6 boxes. Gave one a way, gave one each to the girls, and put the others in the family cookie place – so everyone eats them. I usually keep a box for myself, but then I realized that that was just STUPID!! If I do that I’ll eat them and that’s not what I want right now. We’ll see how long THAT will power lasts, but so far so good.

Barb – Kimo would definitely give you that look. She gave it to me when I was pushing her to walk faster than she would like. She’s so chunky that she needs some exercise! I really enjoy Power Hour.

Karen – glad you’re feeling better! And the girls are, too! How fun for you to have a GS party. Do you have tons of cookies too?

Susan – sounds like you and DH have a great tradition! Have fun!! Great workout on tap, too! And I am thrilled to eat Thai food ANY time. I have a great restaurant for that! They have the BEST curried vegetable fried rice! Food is good.

Laurie – what a great workout! I love kickboxing and the power drills at the end of CK are a must for any kickbox workout! Yeah – those lunges in PH are killer – so are the squats. I always forget and go too heavy with the chest work, and almost die…

Linda – Sounds like a nice varied workout you got! Wow!

Hey to Shelly, Elaine, Thomasina, Sunny and anyone else I inadvertently missed!

Susan- I was reading this book called Chi Running and ever since then I feel like I'm always thinking about correct position. In the mean time I think I'm overthinking it and that is why I may be stiff and having this happen.

Christine- Cookies Cookies everywhere.

HI for a quickie here!
I have to get some errands done before I pick up DD to go to the orthodontist again.

This morning was a goofy schedule; I had two 50" segments to workout so I did LIC cardio blast premix 48" and drove DS to school. Later I did LIC total body sculpting and then I had a tennis match.

Now I must get going; TTFN and I'll check in tomorrow hopefully!

Judy "Likes2bfit"

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Good Morning.

I woke up feeling woozy and tired, so I decided to take today off of work and try to get some rest. Now that I got DS off to school and the house is quiet, my very sweet golden retriever and I are going to take a looooooong nap. If I am energized when I wake up then I plan on getting my run in on the treadmill and then some weight work. All this talk of Power Hour has me leaning there. We’ll see; I have to nap first and see if I feel better! LOL.

Cathy – That’s why I can’t seem to follow a rotation because I usually mess it up with my wacky busy schedule. I do better with an “idea” of the workout week and then take each day at a time. I just make sure I get in a good mix of cardio and weights.

Sunny – I downloaded a CC and just couldn’t get into the music. I found Podfitness where I can use my own music to mix with an instructed workout. Really cool.

Marcia – It sounds like after your workout, we’ll see a DOMS post from you tomorrow! :p Have fun with your new workouts! I love to get new workouts!

Wendy – Ya, seems like a good round of a cardio sweatfest cleanses us of all the dirty eating. I couldn’t cut down to 2 days of cardio I don’t think. I would start biting my kids; I do think. LOL

Gayle & Jess – I wanna snow day! I only got 2 last year and it was only because of a whopping 5 inches? LOL Yah, you know what they say, us west coast folks (especially Californians) don’t know what a real storm is! We telecast storm damage out here as blown over plastic lawn furniture. You ladies enjoy the time with your kids; you both are super duper moms!

Christine – glad you’re feeling better. Thanks for the Power Hour idea! Are you training for any runs?

Carole – I knew the massage would do the trick. I swear by massages after what wonders they have done for me! I would have brought the doggie home with me but I didn’t know if DH would say “where the ($&(#$* are we going to keep that dog!” So I had to do something quick. Then DH calls AFTER I return from the shelter and said I should have brought it home. UGH! I am going to post signs a the lil’ market nearby the highway where I found the dog. I want to try and help the owner find their dog if I can because I would be devastated if I lost and couldn’t find my Golden girl!!

Barb – LOL ya, the parent team beatings. Been to many! Just kidding, for the most part, I have enjoyed my parent involvement with the schools. Sometimes it is just a juggling act for me with working full time and then including all the extra curricular activities. I just have to be careful of how much I volunteer for. I’ll never forget the look on my DH’s face the year I came home from an 8th grade graduation decoration committee meeting and let him know I was somehow elected to be in charge of making the marquee for the gym entrance. HAHA - Well it actually came out pretty good, but he’ll never let me take on that big of stuff again. I’ll post a picture of the marquee if I can find one; it was for “Hollywood Nights” theme. Good luck with high school; it only gets more expensive! LOL

Laurie – I love your advice to Karen. Maybe the tingling/numbing I get in my right leg is from the same sort of thing. It only happens when I lay down on my back. Maybe I should try some heat too… Glad you didn’t kill your darling daughters. lol I’m still thinking mine would have been put up on Ebay with no reserve for sure! (kidding)

Susan – SEES CANDY?? WHERE??? awe geez, I love that stuff! BUT I am not allowed anywhere near it at the moment. I’m going to work with my jaws wired tomorrow just in case someone brings in Sees. UGGH!

Karen – I hope your arm does better; I like the advice you got from Laurie. Are you training for a run?

Judy – HI! You’re a whirlwind gal!

Linda – yep, I need to take the time to figure out my picture trail thing. Although I can’t stand my own photo, I have plenty of my kids, etc and of course, my dog! LOL

Ok, well I better get to that long nap or I’ll still be “sick and tired” by the end of the day….Talk to you cheetah gals later!!

Thomasina :7

hey ladies,

i scrapped my run today and did DM cardio leg blast!! my first time doing that one and boy what a workout!! my only problem is i have p90x legs and back tomorrow. i don't think it should be a problem since neither workouts use heavy weights. i guess i will just play it by ear and see how my legs feel tomorrow }( :D

colleen- i am so sorry to hear about your BIL (((hugs)))

christine- you've gotta try CC # w/candace. it's great!

thomasina- i need to wire my jaws shut tight. i am so ashmamed but yesterday i bought some candy for my ds's teacher (for valentines) and i ate it...lol. so i have to go shopping again today....GEEZ

BBL..

Hey Ladies!

I just got finished w/my work out. DM Cardio/Leg Blast Premix and then I went back and did all of the leg work AGAIN!}( }( }( It was just what the doctor ordered!;)

I have some nice DOMS in my upper body from yesterday's X work out. Tomorrow I stand to have some in my lower body from what I did today.

I'll be back in a bit for personals....:)

Karen...hope the Valentine party is fun!

Susan..I got my DH some decorative M&M's for Valentines. Have fun with L&G and C&W abs. Yes, I will have to do the Elliptical and maybe pull out my Nordic Track until my ham/glute clears up. I am always tight in the lower body for massages. Especially my calves.

Laurie...sounds like a good workout you had! The massage helped but ham is still to sore to run...:(

Linda...you have to play around a bit in Picture trail to add the text to the pics. I think it could be when you edit the picture? I have not done a Firm video for years...but I still have them all.

Christine...I still have frozen cookie dough for cookies in my fridge. I sure don't need and GS cookies!! I am fairly good with will power on the sweet stuff.

Judy...nice the way you split up LIC and tennis...:)

Tomasina...I hope you have a well deserved nap with your Golden...:)..I also think massages are great. I am trying for once a month. I hope you find the doggies owner. I would also be devastated.

Sunny...way to go with the DM cardio Leg blast!!

Wendy...good job also with the DM premix! I have some upper body from yesterday also. I did GS C&B instead of P90X C&B...

Well....I ran about 10 yards and still had pain in my a$$, so I did a tough EXT workout instead....I feel this will take some time...:(...On a good note, I found the particular version of the AOL I needed for my Mom's Vista PC...at Walmart! So her PC is working well now...:)

Hey there, cheetahs~
What’s this? Only 3 pages to catch up on…Slow day in Cheetahville, I see. :)

Sunny :: yeah, this is only the 2nd month I’ve tried a rotation, and I’ve decided to approach them as though they are general blueprints that might need to get tweaked. Structure is OK, but sometimes it’s fun to deviate from the plan. Sunday’s temps were too hard to resist an outdoor run…Thanks for the tip on the DM leg blast – haven’t tried that one…*lol* about the candy.

Christine :: so glad you’re feeling better…Nah, you didn’t sound like a mom w/ your advice – actually, I don’t think the average person (mom or dad) really knows that much about HR training or fitness in general :p -- so much misinformation is out there! But yes, I do follow what you’re saying about going for the greater overall calorie burn…I’m just trying to learn more & train smarter according to my HR…at least that was my goal when I bought the latest contraption!…And now I’m contemplating a ballet bar?!! *lol*…I think I need the silly putter mallet for myself! :p BTW, I didn’t slow down my run on purpose – I just noticed that my HR was surprisingly high even though I felt I was going slower than I normally do.

Carole :: I see we have graduated from silly putty mallets to shotguns! *lol*… Re: the computers…I’m just annoyed that they keep coming out with new platforms every year…When I switched to XP, it was a NIGHTMARE!!!! Glad you got it straightened out…thanks also for the input on the HR issue and for the link…Last night, I ordered one of Edwards’ books. It will take 4-6 weeks for delivery!! I’d hoped to find it somewhere else in the meantime, but apparently, it is hard to get a hold of. Anyway, I’ll check out the site while I wait. Sorry about the ongoing pain!!

Barb :: what time were you out there running? My babushka’s hat’s off to you for attempting it! I’m so jealous – I would love a day of hibernation tomorrow. Snow’s coming down now but is expected to turn into rain. Probably just the right combo for a treacherous commute in the AM, natch.

Karen :: welcome back ~ glad you are healthy again. I’ve never had an arm go numb – feet, yes, but not an arm. I think it probably *could* have been a clenched fist or a tensed arm. Next time you run, I’d concentrate on being loose (do the ol’ potato chip in the hand test) and see if it happens again.

Laurie :: I don’t have CK…that is one of the older k’boxing ones, right? I have been doing the leg drills from KM in the past month and am now working legs 2x per week overall, and I am seeing good changes in my (thunder) thighs! :)

Linda :: thanks for the input on Fluidity!!…I’m not sure how I would use it, either…*lol*…I am the farthest thing from a dancer you could ever find!!…From what I read on the open forums, one person who posted about it has used it as an add-on. She said the workouts are about 20 min. in length so they are complimentary to her other w/outs. I wound up ordering the Bar Method DVDs from Amazon because they received great reviews and I thought they’d be a good way for me to get a taste for that type of workout before I dip deep into the ol’ wallet once again. If I did get it, I think I would strive for 2-3 workouts per week. I’m just kind of afraid I’ll be falling for something gimmick-y. Hope today’s w/out had you going FORWARD on the TM. :)

Susan :: let’s see, I mailed it Saturday…probably tomorrow??…I know what you mean ~ I do a happy dance anytime I get a package.

Wendy :: daggg, girl! Have you gone loco? Repeating anything that already has BLAST in the title sounds like a punishment…*lol*…WTG!!…I think I need to be your first PT client…with you training me, I’d probably drop 20 lbs. like that *snaps fingers*.

Thomasina :: hope you’re feeling better this afternoon…did you work out?…I agree, as long as the week is balanced, I don’t mind being flexible w/ the w/outs…that works best for me.

Hi Marcia, Gayle, Jess, and Judy!

Cathy :)

Hello Cheetahs! Sorry I’ve been MIA lately. I really need a new computer and work has been so busy. I plan to buy a new laptop by the end of the year. Hopefully sooner. Right now I only get to check in with you all during my work week (M-F). Needless to say I miss so much that is going on during the weekends and with all of the posts it is hard to catch back up by Monday morning. What did I miss? Did I hear mention of a Cheetah GTG?

Let’s see, the last time I posted was Thursday. Friday I took the day off from work, but it did not go as planned. It began at 7 a.m. on my way to the daycare to drop off the kids. Unexpectedly I had to take a trip all the way across town to take a lost dog (a small Shitzu) to the Humane Society. I could not let it get hit by a car. It was a very old dog that had cataract so bad that one eye must have been completely blind and the other one probably 90% blind since it was walking straight towards my car on the road. It wasn’t even phased by the headlights from the cars. However, I’m pretty sure the dog was not a stray because it was so fat and well-mannered. Needless to say my whole “planned” day was changed, but it was worth it. I didn’t get in a workout that day as I had hoped.

The rest of my workouts look like this:
Saturday – ran 6 miles on treadmill
Sunday - short pilates tape
Monday – ran 3.5 miles on treadmill
Today – did Tamilee Webb’s I Want That Body – 1 section from abs, UB, & LB with pushups and assisted chin-ups added in.

SunnyD – I might be headed your way the beginning of May sometime. I have a friend that lives in Raleigh so I will be flying in maybe on a Thursday or Friday for a girl’s weekend.

Well, I need to get back to work. I’ll try to check back more frequently tomorrow.

cathy- got my shirt today!!

I am planning on running the treadmill later. We have gotten massive amounts of snow here in ohio, level 3. so many people called in at work today and I figure the same ones will call in tomorrow since it is worse. thanks goodness my DH has 4 wheel drive. anyway, talk wit everyone later!

G'evening Cheetahs! It's been a fun day for us today! Snow day! The girls & I made Funfetti cookies & a choc. chip cheesecake (my dh requested) so that took some time this morning. Then they played Play-doh & did some crafts. I got in PH, good workout!! That plus shoveling, I'm going to be feelin' that tomorrow! ;-) We had fun playing outside after lunch sledding down out front hill. Mikey (our dog) had a blast chasing the girls around in the snow too. Some of the drifts he was having a hard time getting out of & he's a BIG dog. We probably have a foot of snow & it's still drifting. School is already cancelled for the girls again tomorrow. They were a little sad since it's Valentine's Day, but we'll have fun anyway.

They shut down the office & Greg made it home from work about 11AM. It's a good thing because he never would have made it home at 4!! The roads hadn't even been plowed. The girls loved having him home & it's been a nice day.

OK, just wanted to pop in & say hi! Hope you're all staying nice & warm!
