:: CHEETAHS :: Thursday!

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Morning, cheetahs—

Sorry for the brevity in personals, but I'm runnin' late.

Wendi—Thanks, I will catch a break soon. Hope you’re feeling better today.

Wendy—nice job with your speedy 3 miler.

Judy—how’s your cold today?

Christine—yeowch on the elbow smash! Sounds like a doozy.

Carole—how was the visit with DM yesterday? Any of the pain subsiding some?

Linda—The beginner training programs I’ve looked at are all pretty drawn out, but IMO, it’d be better to err on the side of caution than make the reverse mistake. When we do this again (did I just say that?), we’ll have a better idea of what’s best for us individually.

Jackie—that was the perfect smiley to describe the stirrup appts.

Dallas—thanks for the email. Appreciated! Sorry about the sciatica flare. Hope the adjustment today sets you right again. No, it’s not on the blog. My colleagues are just asking me about it and sort of expressing good wishes & admiration. Yesterday, I found out the Student Council, which is advised by two of my friends, is going to have coin wars during lunch to raise money for Livestrong. They won’t donate it in my name to avoid any potential conflict of interest, but still. I was floored. The competition will be between 7th & 8th graders, and to track progress, there is going to be some kind of poster in the cafeteria, me representing 8th and Lance representing 7th. Our faces will be on stick figures. Stick figure? I automatically approved. J

Karen—Know your comment was addressed to Carole & Linda, but I would not take the entire month of November off unless you are injured. JMHO.

BTSN tonight. No chance for a workout today.

Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning ladies!

Only have a couple of minutes to catch up if I want to get out there for my run:D. Only gonna go as far as I feel up to. This will be my only chance to run before I leave for DC Sunday so I really want to get one in.

Judy - LOL, ITA with some recipes turning out better than others;). But that's part of the fun, right? Glad you're feeling better today, but sorry to hear about DS...hopefully it passes quickly. That some workout of a day you had...no wonder you were a little pooped.

Christine -Oh, owie!!!! How's the elbow feeling today? Oh, I hope you have a wonderful time this weekend!!! Hope you enjoyed your new Spinervals. LOL, people wonder why I'm soooo schedule-oriented *rolls eyes*. If I wasn't I'd never get half of what I need to get accomplished in a day done. It's like a never ending "game".

Carole - I always cut the amount of oil in half or use spray olive oil. It's amazing how something so little like that can make such a difference. Well done having no DOMS yesterday...WOW! I'd be hobbling lol.

Linda - Looks like you and Carole were on the same wavelength yesterday...4DS C&B and a run. Sounds like a great workout! Regarding the length of your training...look at it this way, you *know* you'll be prepared. I call that smart!

Jackie - Thanks for the recap...ITA about reality shows being too long these days. I can't remember the last time I made it past 9:00...that's why I had to stop watching House. I'd get through the first commercial break and then...out cold:(. Great job with MM yesterday!

Wendy - Nice job on the fast 3 miler yesterday. How far are you going today?

Dallas - Sorry about the sciatica...soooo painful:(! Wow, stairs with the weighted vest....TOUGH! My DSO is away on business in WI this week and called me from the top of a ski jump out there. He had to climb 400 stairs to get to the top and I just HAD to think of you:D! He said it was breathtaking...in more than one sense of the word:p. Oh, I think you've already claimed "Busy Cheetah";).

Karen - Glad to hear that calf is doing much better! Ugggh, sorry about the lost post...sux:mad:. Had to chuckle at the "running with runny nose"...that is the *worst*, isn't it? The weather has been picture perfect, hasn't it?

Cathy - Love the "challenge" organized by some of the students! Must feel great to have them all rooting you on, too! BTSN???

Gotta fly if I want to get out there. Although, it's still pretty dark out there:(...Cathy, where's that headlamp??? TTFN!

Good Morning Girls.

Gonna save personals for this afternoon. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. :)

Today's work out will be a TM run after work. Shootin' for 5-6 miles.

Gotta go for now but I'll BBL!

This has to be a fly by for now friends. DS15 is back to school today and I am headed that way also to volunteer. Yesterday's workout went well. 3 miles with iTread #4 30 minutes. Then PLB standing leg work ( DOMS are here this morning!) and the YOGA class. THe yoga class was mainly power with emphasis on lower body balancing. That was ahem, a challenge after PLB!

Today is either 4Ds upper body or PUB then a busy day. Tomorrow we are offthe Manhattan to see DD23!

Hola chicas!

Had a nice strong 5.4 miler this morning...feelin' good and healthy again:D. My pace was even faster than expected and I felt awesome up the first 5 hills (6 was a bit of challenge:eek:). I did see that there is a fitness center at the hotel in DC so I'm going to do my darndest to get in there at least twice while we are there. 2 out of the 3 days the horse shows he goes first thing in the morning, leaving me with the rest of the day and I plan to take full advantage of it:).

Wendy - Same wavelength distance-wise, huh? Enjoy!

Judy - Holy smokes...I can only imagine how challenging that yoga class was after PLB:eek:. My legs would have been jello lol. Enjoy the UB workout today. Have fun in NY!

Gotta scoot. *Might* be back before bowling but I'm not sure on that one. Got another loooong one today. Hasta luego!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Carole – We have to get a good GTG going in Napa! It’s so easy to plan for fun, healthy activities in Napa (although there will have to be a visit to a winery or two – after the marathon!). I’ll work with the Westin, where our condo is, to get any additional rooms needed right beside ours. We can all pitch in to cover the cost. Too fun! How’s mom doing?

Linda – DH is home, thank you for the safe vibes! Good luck with your “stirrup appt”, man do I hate that one! Sounds like a nice trail you are running this weekend!

Jackie – I do like to be busy, but sometimes a break is nice. :p The BF is doing well. He had a head cold the whole ride – amazing. He wants to do the century next year. I guess I need to be riding more hills. I MIGHT be ready for 4000 feet of climbing and 100 miles next year. :p

Wendy – Good job on the run and CTX! I may toss those in next week – I like how short they are, but they are good workouts! Thanks for the idea.

Dallas – hope the sciatica is feeling better! Too funny about the girl with the weighted vest getting you thinking… Such a typical Cheetah! Enjoy your “Max” day! DH is hoping for a World Series between the Cubs and the Red Sox (he’s a Red Sox fan, though). That would be fun! I’m not sure I’m going to ride the Trifecta. I think DH and I are planning to ride the Asti Tour (http://www.astitourdevine.com/) which is during one of the rides. He’ll do the 50k, I’ll do the metric century. The after party is worth riding 62 miles for! :p

Karen – I love soup and grilled cheese! It’s a nice comfort dinner for a fall day. I LOVE this weather! Thanks for sympathy on the elbow – it’s not one of my favorite spots to hit either. Ick. Good job on the 8 mile tempo run! Sorry school seemed to take forever, but I’m glad DD finally got analogies. Home schooling must keep you on your toes, too. I’ve forgotten so much of that stuff! I still use word for that very reason. I hate losing posts. Sorry about that!

Cathy – That is tooo cool about the Student Council having coin wars to donate to the LiveStrong foundation! Amazing age we live in when donating to a good cause in someone’s name could be considered a conflict of interest. *sighs* But, I understand. I hope you come over to run the Napa marathon, too! But that may be too soon.

Wendi – The elbow is better today, thank you! I am not anywhere near as busy as you, but I like to have a schedule, too. It makes my day go so much smoother. Great job on the 5.4 miler! Isn’t it amazing how a good run makes you so wonderful?! Oh good! Glad you’ll get to workout in DC!

Judy – wow, that’s a late start for DS15! Good workout yesterday! Have fun in Manhattan! I love NY!

Well, the TV in my workout room (aka the garage) is out - has been since last week, actually. But with DH gone, I just worked out in the living room, but DH gets concerned about weights and the hardwood floors, which I do agree with – but I’m more willing to workout there when he’s not here :p We did get a new 32” (the old TV was a 27”) Sony LCD Bravia for the garage last night, but the screws (of all things!) from the old mounting stand did not work with the Sony. So, DH has to go to Home Depot today to find the proper screws. I’m up early, but I may take a rest day. Or I may just do a Cardio Coach on my bike. We’ll see. I will be riding in to work today, too, but that’s a short ride. We may NOT be going to Napa this weekend. We have not fully closed – we were supposed to this past week, but DH was out of the country and the banks have gotten sooo fussy about the paperwork they have, so it was postponed. We are fully approved and it will happen before end of September, but the Westin is saying that we can come for the home owners weekend, but we cannot stay in our room – company policy. Well, what’s the point of that? DH is trying to work it out with the Westin. We’ll see. I’m not broke hearted if we don’t go. It means I get to go for a hike with Jimmy and ride Mike the Bike some distance. :p Anyway, sorry for the novel – have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I had a nice visit with Mom yesterday. It was good to see her in her wheelchair rather than her bed when I got there. An old neighbor also stopped by and we all had a nice visit. Her pain is subsiding a bit. All of this just takes time

Wendi...I do think that many recipes overdo the oil amount, which seems silly. I would rather taste the food and not the oil! Good job with the run this morning. Hope you can check out the fitness center in DC.

Christine...I think a Napa GTG could be very fun. I am in for the winery after the marathon! I do think my sister could be training too after I put the bug in her ear so to speak...:D..Hope DH gets the TV in your workout room up. Sorry about the stuff going on with your Napa condo. Hope the closing gets done ASAP. Enjoy your riding today.

Wendy..good job with CTX sho, bi's and the run yesterday. Enjoy your 5-6 miler today.

Dallas...sorry about the sciatica flare-up. That kind of pain is not fun at all. I hope it'll be okay after the adjustment. Napa is March 1, 2009. Yes, bring your running shoes to Chicago!! I did not know the Cubs were in the playoffs!...How cool...:)

Karen..glad your calf was better yesterday! I think for your training you could just ease off the weekly distance and pace for Nov. Then restart training in Dec. Sorry about loosing your posts!!

Linda...I am glad you will be tapering...:)...I think I always looked forward to the taper and your body does have to recover from the intense training before the actual marathon. Looks like we has another similar workout yesterday!

Jackie...I am doing my legs now, heavy 2 x a week for 3 weeks and then endurance 3 x a week for one week. I will probably keep that rotation while I train. Although I will cut out heavy leg days the month before the marathon or sooner depending on how the training is going. Good job with MM yesterday. How are you enjoying DWTS?

Today I am doing 4DS legwork, 40 min on my EXT and maybe some endurance sho, bi's & tri's.

Have a great day...:)

Good Morning all. Quickie post for now. I just finished 3 miles, frim abs and 30 min of UB from the body bar. Now I'm off to eat and begin the day.

Chritine- Love that you named you Bike.

Cathy- I wrote to you about your marathon training last night but that was the post that was lost. I love any info or advice you want to throw my way.

Carole- I think I may do just that. Ease up and then ease back in.

Judy- Have a great weekend away.

Hello to Wendi, Wendy, Linda, and all others.

The days are getting away from me!

Good morning cheetahs! MIA again for a while there. I started my new job and have been a day shifter for a while. Starting on as a new staff at a hospital is a mental bombardment let me tell ya! Talk about information overload!! And I haven't even begun the unit specific (ICU) orientation yet... this is just the basic employee hospital stuff so far. I have the day off to recoup a bit and then go in for a 12 hr day tomorrow so you likely won't see me posting tomorrow:( Even tho my brain circuits are a bit fried all is going well actually and I do like my new place of employment. I just got back from a great 8.1 mile country hilly road run!
I plan on my long run for next Mon. Last Sun. I did a step back run of 11 miles that went okay except for a dog startling me by bounding up while I was going downhill on a gravel road.. you guessed it... I lost my footing and went down pretty hard. Fortunately, my injuries were just limited to some nasty abrasions. The dog turned out to be quite friendly... just wanted to play. Still... it was pretty annoying!

I finished repaining our main living area also... it's now a very light gray/silver tone (Manhattan Mist). I really like how it turned out. Tackling my bright yellow/red kitchen dining area today! Later I'll be doing a nice Cathe circuit... I'm thinkin HSC.:D

BB for Personals!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Dallas - My BIL is probably in baseball heaven about now. He loves his Chicago sports teams. I don't see a clear leader on DWTS but the judges seem to like Brook Burke. She's doing good with having to keep up with 4 children. Checked out Cathe's vest on Wal-Mart. But, while I was looking, I saw another vest for about $11 more and it was 20 pounds. Will have to think on it a bit.

Cathy - Awesome that the Student Council is raising money for Livestrong! I'm sure you influenced them. Sounds like lots of fun too.

Wendi - Glad you were able to get that run in! Way to show those hills who's boss. :D I set my tv timer for 30 minutes when I get in bed at 9. I never make it past 15 minutes. Have fun bowling.

Wendy - Have a good run today!

Judy - Good job with the 3 miles! How's the foot? Enjoy volunteering today. Bet your legs were shaking doing yoga after PLB! Have a good trip to visit DD.

Christine - Glad BF was able to do that ride with a head cold. Maybe he sweated it out. :) You could handle those hills and 100 miles quite well! At least you have a few months to work on it. I'm worried about damage to my hardwood floors too. Been thinking about getting mats from Sam's and cover part of the floor where I do weights. Yay for the new tv! If you don't make Napa this weekend, you still have something to look forward to and it will still be fun.

Carole - Sounds like you mom is making great progress. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Thanks for the info on your leg work. My legs are not as sore from doing MM yesterday. Just a touch of DOMS. Like your idea of cutting back on heavy leg work a month before your race. May give that a try. Enjoy your workout!

Karen - How's the calf feeling after your run today? Good job on the workout!

Today's workout was iTread #10 20 minutes. Added 10 minutes. Ended up with 3.2 miles in 29 minutes. Guess this ended up being my 3 mile pace run. Did iClimb #4 20 and Yoga Relax. Legs are feeling better today but think I will skip leg work tomorrow and just do upper body.

Fiscal year is coming to an end. Lots of things to get done before Sept. 30. Better get at it.

Have a great day!

Shelly - We were posting at the same time. Glad you're enjoying your new job! You've been a busy little beaver. Hope the brain overload is over soon so you can get about the business of being the good nurse that you are. Ouch on the fall and the dog! Glad it was only minor scrapes and the dog was friendly. But, you don't know that at first. Living room color sounds pretty. What color will the kitchen get? Enjoy your day off.

Personals

Karen- Nice job with the run today. I guess your Baltimore HM is getting kind of close by now. Nice idea to just keep it light for a while after that but not to rest completely for a long time.

Carole- Glad to hear that your Mom is doing well! How long will she be in rehab BTW? Sounds like your marathon plans are starting to firm up:D Did I see you mention that Karen may be joining you?? Of course our Christine is already planning a post race wine celebration;) If my house sells I may very well join you. With this economy that is a Big IF however!

Christine- Mike the bike.... I love it!!!:p Are you planning on running the Napa marathon as well or are you just going for the support? That Asti Tour looks like fun!!!

Wendi- Great job on that run today and best of luck to you on your upcoming show. I know you'll do fantastic!!!

Judy- I'm pretty impressed you were able to manage a tough Yoga class after PLB:eek: Another busy day for a SuperMom cheetah!!

Wendy- Hi cutie pie... how did the last long run go BTW? Ready for LBI?

Cathy- I'll have to go check out your blog after finishing here to see how your last stages of training are going. Sounds like you have your whole school behind you.... not surprised!!!! Hope your day goes well and you are getting enough rest busy cheetah!

I think that catches me up for now! Have a great one y'all!
Hi Dallas, Linda, Jackie, Gloria!!

Hi Jackie!! Hope you can get things caught up before that deadline. Are you training for a race? You mentioned a pace run so that's what came to mind. Yes, I had no idea if the dog was friendly or not and was trying to slow and turn to face him (not a good idea while going downhill!) Anyway, My kitchen/dining area will go from being brightyellow and burgundy to an off white (Linen white). Im a thinkin I'll need 3 or more coats to accomplish that!!

Well, I managed to get my lazy butt up off the chair and do CCPP this morning. Man did I enjoy it! My spinning cadence is coming along well, but it was still a killer workout. Followed that with my whopping 2 mile commute to work, so Mike the Bike is hanging out with me today. My poor office mate – if it’s not my dog, it’s my bike. At least Mike doesn't shed. :D

Carole – Yes, I think the Napa GTG would be a blast! The very best place for a GTG, actually. Although it is a little $$. But our condo has a little stove and fridge and stuff, so we can be creative about how we eat. Enjoy your leg work, EXT and weights!

Karen - :D A lot of cyclists name their bikes. It’s weird, but fun. :p Have a fun school day!

Shelly - Glad to hear from you when you can write! You must be a bit frazzled. Starting a new job is always a challenge. Things will settle down soon. Sorry about the dog! Man I’d have been upset. Have fun repainting your house. I’ll go to Napa as support. May bring Mike with me to ride part of the course (or around the back streets) so I can cheer the runners on from more places!

Jackie – thanks for the vote of confidence. I’m slowly working my way up to the century rides with the big hills. They are painful, I’ll tell ya! Here is California we have a lot of up and down (and a lot of flat). You can find pretty much any ride to suit. Someone I know just finished the Everest Challenge – two days of riding – 100 mile each day and a total of 29,032 feet (the height of Everest). I saw the elevation map – OUCH! You’re either going up or your going down – there’s no in between.

Hello Cheetahs! I've been MIA for months now, but I wanted to let everyone know I miss you guys. I read the thread once in a while, but normally don't have time to post.

Everything is going well here. I will be traveling to Baton Rouge for a week in mid-October for new billing training for my soon-to-be promotion the end of January. The trip is the same time as the cheetah get together & Cathy's marathon so I won't be able to make the trip and see everyone. :( Re: my running, it has been really slow recovering from my knee injury, but I can finally run now. However, I'm quite a bit slower than I was before the injury and I'm still trying to build up my mileage. I'm probably going to lay off the road races for a while and opt for treadmill running for a while. I still want to run a few HMs but I think I might pick a few dates on the calendar and then give "registration money" to my favorite charity instead. At least that will motivate me to keep my mileage up. :)

Cathy - Keep up the great work with your marathon training. I'll be rooting for you on race day!!

Shelly - Congrats on your new job!!

Waves to all my cheetah friends!

Hey Girls.

ITread 2/60 mins is done. 5.50 miles in the bag. :D

Kristi: Sorry it's such a slow go getting back on track from your knee injury but you will get there! You are playin' it smart and that is a wise choice. Congrats on your promotion!:)

Chrisitine: LMBO about Mike not shedding. Too funny. CTX is a great series. So versatile! I really enjoyed doing it for the past month. I'm going to miss it now that I'm moving on!

Shelly: Glad you like your new place of employment. I don't doubt the mental strain you are feeling right now just starting off in the new place. It's tough until you get acclamated and comfortable. My 15 miler last wednesday went beautifully. I was very pleased. I am actually looking to run one last run of 15-16 miles this weekend before I pull back. Looking forward to LBI. I feel ready!!!! :D

Alrighty, gotta get ready to pick up DS from school so that's all I can do as far as personals for now but I'll BBIAB to finish 'em up, I promise!:)

Later Taters!

Good afternoon!

Thank God that stupid “stirrup” appt. is over! I hate going to the doctor sooo much! I have White Coat Syndrome and it is sooo humiliating when I have to go into my “spill” about…”I swear my BP is normal at home! I check it everyday!!”. Grrrr! I still have to go get bloodwork and Mammogram done tomorrow, but the “hardest part” if over :)

I talked to Patty a little while ago and she pulled her back out at the beginning of the week. She is a “Faux Finisher” and does decorating, etc. So she does a lot of heavy lifting. She has pretty much been on the couch all week with ice. She is doing better today, but we won’t be doing a run together this weekend. I hope and pray she is healed and able to do the marathon! It is sooo easy to get injured doing the most ordinary things! It is also possible that she wasn’t getting enough recovery from runs, too. Maybe she will reconsider the taper, now. I hope she gets better soon!

Cathy – Yay! You said it!!! :) I sure hope we both want to do it again! :) I’ll bet we will! Yes, you are right, we will feel more confident in which training routes to take. And I do think it is better that I took longer to train. I think there is a lot less chance of injury that way…..especially for the first time!

Wendi – Great job on your run! I hope it didn’t stay dark very long! That is great that your hotel with have a fitness center!

Wendy – Enjoy your TM run!

Judy – Good job on your workout! I can imagine the yoga balancing “would “ be quite tough after PLB! Oooo! Enjoy the trip to Manhatten!

Christine – Glad Your DH made it home safely! Thanks…the stirrup appt went okay….just so glad to have it over with! Whew! Hmmm…why will they not let you stay in your room? At least it will be closed before the end of Sept.! At least you will still get a good hike and ride! :) Great job with your spinning! Yep, that is one plus about hanging out with Mike the Bike! Glad he doesn’t shed! I wish I could ride my bike to work!

Carole – Enjoy your workout! Sounds like a good one! I am looking very much forward to the taper :)

Karen – I hate to lose my posts! I agree that you could cut back on your mileage for the month to recover…but don’t totally stop running….unless you have to. Great job on your run and UB/abs!

Shelly – Good job on your country road run! Oh dear! Sorry about the mishap with the dog! I am glad he ended up being friendly! I am glad you are liking your new job! That is great! I am sure it is tough to start a new job like that, though. The walls sound really nice!Enjoy your circuit!

Jackie – Good job on your workout! I need to do another combo of the TM and EXT. I used to do that quite often, but have not been doing it, lately. I think your idea of the UB tomorrow is a good one!

Kristi – It is great to hear from you! I would love to be able to go to the Cheetah get-together and Cathy’s marathon, too! Is the get-together in Chicago, at the time of the marathon? That is a good idea to help keep you motivated for keeping your running up! Miss you! Hope you can check in every now and then!

I am hoping to get in a 6 or 7 mile run after work. I will try for 4DS B&T's, but not sure if I will be able to fit that in or not.

Hey to everyone!

Linda

HI Cheetahs

Shelly- I was beginning to worry about your absence. But all is well though you are juggling quite a bit! Nice color description. How about the kitchen color? Sorry about the tumble during your run.

Christine- DS was home sick. so that is what I meant by 'back to school'.

Linda- TG the paper gown app't is over. I hope your running pal is OK!

Jackie- So What UB will you do tomorrow? I did 4DS UB today. 67 minutes and not even abs!

Wendy- How was the TM today? did you do an iTread or CC? Tell me what the race is that you and Shelly are running; I want to see if Dbrother's scoring company ( Compuscore) has the race.

Cathy- I think I am past the worst of the cold. DS is battling the same symptoms. thanks for asking ;)

Wendi- so glad to hear you had a fantastic run! And how nice that the hotel will both have a fitness room and you will have time to use it! :)

Carole- Have you decided to run a marathon in Napa? When? Is it flat or hilly?

Workout this morning was 4DS Upper body premix. That one always fries my UB. I was starved all day and when I got home I noticed that I forgot half of my breakfast in the microwave! I just ate it for a snack.

Hey, hey Cheetahs!

Shelly - I registered for the St. Jude half marathon in Dec. I haven't committed to it yet because I want to wait and see how my hamstrings and feet do after running 10 miles. Bright yellow and burgundy doesn't sound like a good color for a kitchen. But, my kitchen is yellow (Pollen Grain). Did you use tint in your first coat of paint? That's what the paint store told us to do for my house. Said it wouldn't need so many coats of paint then.

Christine - Yay for enjoying CCPP today! Like that one too. LOL about Mike the bike. :D Nice name. Jimmy doesn't gnaw on it anymore, does he? That Everest Challenge sounds hard. Gotta have some good, tough padding for that one.

Kristi - Hi and good to see you. Congratulations on your upcoming promotion! Glad you're back to running some. Taking it slow is probably a good thing. Hope the knee continues to improve.

Wendy - Good run today! You sound ready for your race! That's great!

Linda - You're not alone with the white coat syndrome. Just something about them putting that cuff on your arm. I try my best to take a deep breath and relax. Good luck with the mammogram. They hurt sometimes because I have so little to throw up there. :D Sorry to hear your friend hurt her back. Maybe this is a sign for her to taper. Did the run happen?

Judy - Thinking about checking out LIC for tomorrow's UB. I hope it has a good premix. 4DS UB is loooooonng!! How are the arms? Thinking about doing 4DS some next month.

Going to check out LIC now. Have a good night!

Hi ladies!

Will get caught up with personals while I'm still a bit wired from BTSN. Plan is to "sleep in" a bit in the morning. I have a PD day up in North Jersey and will be carpooling with a colleague.

Wendi :: BTSN is back to school night. Glad to have it out of the way. I get VERY nervous! Running in the dark with no headlamp? You're obviously not a klutz like me! :) Great run. How was bowling?

Christine :: yeah, they're coin wars, so it's not like anyone's keeping track of who's donating, but regardless, I'm honored that they're doing this. Sweet new TV for the garage. Hope it's screwed in right. That is odd about the Westin policy, but I suppose it will be yours soon enough. How exciting!!

Carole :: I'm glad your mom is becoming a bit more mobile...you have me seriously thinking about Napa. Wonder if that's too soon?

Karen :: Carole's advice to back off the mileage some in November sounds good rather than taking the month off altogether. I just think a whole month of no running could be a bit of a setback.

Jackie :: I don't have any interaction with the Student Council, but the advisors are my friends, so I'm sure they suggested the idea to the kids. I'm somewhat embarrassed by the attention, but I must say, the feeling of support and knowing we're doing something good is wonderful. Speedy run this AM. Hope you can get all done that you need to for the fiscal year's closing.

Shelly :: yeowch on the fall...I'm glad your injuries aren't more serious! Was the owner in sight? IA, I'da been peeved! Yellow & red? Sounds like the inside of an old-school McDonald's! The Manhattan Mist sounds nice n' mellow.

Kristi :: Congrats on the promotion!! What will you be doing now? What a long recovery period it's been for you. It must feel GREAT to be running again! Glad to hear it. The speed will come back. You seem to have a positive attitude, and that's so important.

Linda :: Welllllll...? :) Are you thinking of Napa, too? IA, I am happy with the conservative route we've taken. I would think the mammo would be the worst part or no? I've never had one. My doc wanted me to do this new Halo test. It looked like a contraption straight out of the Rocky Horror Picture Show or something. I said no thanks. Esp. since it's not covered by insurance! The GTG is the weekend of the marathon (Oct. 12). Would be awesome if you could make it.

Judy :: killer workout, esp. on a half-eaten breakfast. Thought of you the other day because I saw two of Pollan's books on the shelves at Target.

Have a great night & a happy Friday! :) :) :)
