Mornin', cheetahs :)

I am staying late at school to attend the school drama production tonight, so I'm either going to bring S&A and do that one with bands or I may go for YogaX. The play doesn't start til 7, so I have plenty of time!

No posts to catch up with from last night, so I'll just wish you all a great Thursday!
~Cathy :)

Good morning cheetahs,

scarce cheetah here...:( . just have so much going on. with the pt at the gym (you must also put together a program for them to follow on the days they are not training with you), in addition to trying to start my own pt home training. amongst all of my home duties, i barely have time to chat with you ladies. i thought when i left the full time gig i would have so much more time on my hands. however i am not complaining because things are going very nicely;)

i am so excited dh has finished putting together the new home gym. i will have to take a pic, along with me wearing my cheetah shirt and get it posted.

wendy- did you start taking your pt test?

kristi- when is dh's bday? have fun celebrating!!

sorry ladies no time for more personals as i am off to meet with my first client starting at 6AM.

today's workout is 30 mins elliptical and P90x B & B (first time trying). yesterday i did KM.

i miss you all! have a great day and enjoy your workouts:)

Good morning, CHEETAHS -

I got in a 2 mile run before my toning class so that felt great. The temp was mid 20's and today 30's Woo Hoo heatwave on the way ;-) Toning class went great and I have DOMS all over from both running and toning, I'm sure. }( Tonight is step class, I'll have to see what I can cook up for the ladies for tonight. *evil laugh*

I have a question about pain :-( I started feeling like the whole left side of my body is a sideache? When I take deep breaths it's like I can't get a full breath in? Ya know? I started feeling it before any exercise yesterday so that's not (I don't think) but, it's very weird??? Any ideas? Maybe it's just my body going through some great reshaping??? :p :+ :* :)

Have a great day everyone!
Marcia.

Morning Folks. :)

Cathy: Have fun at the show tonight. So what did you end up doing? Where can you do your videos at school...in the gym...in your classroom?? Nice to have that option when you need it!

Sunny: Busy busy girl! So what if you don't have lots of time to chat with us. You seem to be very happy with your new career and that is what counts! If you can be this busy and still have a smile on your face then you are doing something right! YEAY! :) Yes, I have begun my PT test. I've gotten through alot of it actually. I have done about 170 out of roughly 175 questions in the section pertaining to the "monster manual" as I like to call it. LOL Now I have started reading the smaller manual...There are only about 65 questions in that section. After that I have 3 essay style questions and the practical portion. I feel like I'll never get done! LOL It's not too bad so far though...keep your fingers crossed for me!:)

Shelly: Often times I have said to myself that I would only do a short and easy work out and ended up going full tilt. It can be hard to convince myself to do even that though when I'm REALLY not feeling it. Thank goodness it doesn't happen often!:) So now that you chastised yourself about it, will you be putting any X work outs into your rotation? I can't wait to hear what kind of monster work out you have on tap for today!}( After MY monster work out of Chest&Back/ARX and a 4 mile run on Monday I knew I had over-done it. I came home from the gym, took a shower, took ibuprofen and had to lay down. I was just achey all over. I hate when that happens.

Thomasina: Braces, huh? How does your DD feel about this? LOL

ETA: HI Marcia! We were posting at the same time! In regards to your pain, I don't know what it is. I had sidestitches alot while running on monday night and they are quite painful but you said you felt it BEFORE exercise, right? Good job on the run before your class!

So I am trying to decide how to plan out the rest of my week now that I skipped out on S&A/ARX y'day. I was going to run, do ARX and yoga today but I'm thinking I'll be better off hitting the gym saturday morning in regards to how it will fit in to my schedule. I guess that means I'll do S&A/ARX and yoga today, L&B tmrw and a run/ARX on Saturday....

There are a couple of gals I work with who have recently started taking the classes at the gym in the evenings. I hope they stick with it cause it's so much more fun to go with them then to go alone. Even if I find out that the gym isn't keeping up with the membership agreement thing, I will probably continue to take a class weekly if my friends keep going to them. :) I went with them to step last night. If they weren't going I have to wonder if I would have gone!? x(

Hello,

I have been MIA for a few days. I have been so busy with the new company working us like crazy and checking in on building homes. My MIL offered to sell us an acre of their property for way cheap and we couldnt pass her up on it. My DH has been calling and setting up appts for the soil samples etc.... lots of hiden costs. anyway, I have good in laws or I wouldnt even consider it. plus they have over 2 acres and it is getting to be too much for them to keep up and this also will help them be able to keep their house. My FIL had to take a major pay cut since the plant he worked at closed down, so they have been struggling with bills since. I have managed to get workouts in however. I got up early and did shldrs and arms with P90x and ran 2 miles at the ymca lastnight. I had bootcamp class monday night and tonight I will run at the ymca or do the elliptical since my boys have soccer practice and tomorrow morning I teach again. I am thinking of buying amy bentos bootcamp workout. Does anyone have it and what do you think of it? well nice talking toe veryone. Gotta get ready for work and get the kiddies up. see ya!

Laura: You are most certainly a very busy girl! Great job continuing to get your workouts in, sometimes that is really hard when "life happens" ;-) Hang in there! Oh, good luck on the land you purchased and particular type of home you'd like? Or is it not to build on?

Have a great day!
Marcia.

We are a bunch of Busy Cheetahs-

This is a quick update. DD did not have her oral surgery. The impressions done by the dentist were not usable. We had the orthodontist make new impressions and rescheduled for March 20th. DD was pretty upset. She just wants to have teeth and not look like a first grader with a jack-o-lantern smile.

Yesterday, after all, I walked on the TM for 6 miles trying to use the Chi focuses. My legs and hips did not ache at all. Today will be a circuit of Cathe's w/ EXT for cardio.

GTG to bus stop....

Judy "Likes2bfit"

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

marcia- yes we are building, at least that is the plan. We went and looked at shumaker homes last weekend. They are beautiful!! I am really excited!! the particular model that we are thinking of getting wasnt at the location so we are driving to canton ohio this weekend since that model is there. I told my DH that I need to see it before deciding. hope you all have a great day!!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...that is cool you got the GPS! I hope you enjoy the Sally Edwards book. If you want to read my post to Linda, I do explain a bit about the oils I have used so far. My client told me she would get me another oil to try for this injury. Would you consider seeing a Chiro for the back and neck? Have fun at the school drama tonight..

Sunny...your business sounds like it is really going well! Have fun with P90X B&B and your EXT workout.

Marcia...not sure what that pain would be, hopefully it goes away soon.

Wendy...my workout yesterday was about 2 hours, including warm-up and stretch, but I skipped the abs and will do them today. Good job with the step class last night...:)...S&A is a fun workout (to me). Hope its fun for you today. I can see how going to the gym with a couple of friends wold be nicer than doing it alone...

Laura...wow! You have alot going on. The property idea sounds good and also helping out your MIL and FIL. Enjoy P90X S&A...:)

Judy...great news about your hip and legs! What kind of oral surgery does your DD need?..sorry if I missed that post...

Jackie....I think the early risers are mostly on the East Coast...:)...I am in Calif but I do get up around 5 AM. I had a great time with GS yesterday.

Susan....Sorry about your food hangover yesterday...The back pain has definitely subsided since not running. I am thinking if the other pain is piriformis this could take awhile. Thanks for the tip, and I will avoid squats for awhile. I can get a sample of Biofreeze and I am planning on it.

Linda...the oils are interesting. I use one to help me sleep by rubbing it on my feet at night. I have used a drop of one called Thieves in my coffee daily to help with my immune system and so far...so good this winter! I am also trying an energy drink called Ningxia Red (kind of like Zango or Mangosteen, if you have heard of them) I do feel I have more energy from it. I did one of their cleansing products for a monthly cleanse and I really liked it too. I do believe more in a natural approach to most symptoms rather than a drug approach. The GS workouts and Lowmax were quite fun! Good job on your 4 mile run.

Shelly...you are so right about confusing info out there with injuries. I do feel this one is piriformis from what I read. I can go to a very good PT I know, but truthfully due to the area....I am hesitant. He is actually a very nice guy and quite a kidder. He did embarrass me once, all in fun. I know my Massage therapist will help alot Monday.

Tomasina....wow, braces are costly. But worth it...:)...sorry about the TM!!

I am doing B&G standing (minus the squats),abs, and at least 40 min on my EXT.

Have a good day...:)

Another quick check in - hopefully my last quick one. I'm am FINALLY feeling like I'm crawling out of the crud hole. I'm kind of leaning over the edge resting, but I think by tomorrow I'll be back in full force. I slept last night without Nyquil! And I slept hard. I debated getting up to do a Spinervals as I have FOUR new ones that I have yet to do!!!! But decided sleeping in and resting my body was probably a better idea. I'm in the middle of two days of sales meetings which is going okay. It was nice to meet everyone I work with - people do not look at all like I expect them too! We had a dinner out last night and I was okay until right after dinner then I was exhausted and had a killer headache. Came home, took Advil, walked the dogs then was asleep before my head hit the pillow. I figured if I was that tired, I needed the rest.

Miss chatting with you ladies! Hi to all!!!

Top of the morning to you!

Thanks everyone for the response on using MP3 players.

Linda - I have 7 miles scheduled for Saturday. Hoping to get outside if it doesn't rain. Nice workout yesterday!

Wendy - Did you get your workout in yesterday? Hope motivation is better. I love BBC. IMO worth every penny. It's just something a little different and I like different sometimes.

Shelley - Glad you enjoyed Gauntlet! I'm definitely afraid to try that one! Thanks for 'plaining the early Cheetahs. Have a good run.

Thomasina - I remember those days of braces for dd. Really helped her teeth and smile.

Cathy - Good job on the workout. Glad the back feels ok but sorry to hear about the neck. Don't think it ever ends just changes places. Yay on getting the Garmin! I can't sleep past 6 on weekends either. But, I will just lay in bed a few extra minutes when I wake up. To think in my younger days, I could stay in bed until 10 am. Of course, half the day was gone then. Enjoy the production tonight.

Sunny - Good luck with the PT. Sounds exciting.

Marcia - Glad you enjoyed your run! Try not to kill your class tonight. Do you think it could be sidestitches?

Laura - Glad you were able to post. Sounds like you have some great in-laws. Have a good workout.

Judy - Sorry for the delay in the surgery for dd. Good job on the walk with no pain.

Carole - Long workout yesterday! The oils sound interesting. I was just reading about Mangosteen in Fitness Magazine. Hope it's helping.

Christine - Glad you're feeling better. Maybe it won't be too long now and you'll be back to your old but better self.

I did BBC Shoulders & Back. Really like this one especially the standing abs and the different take on shoulder work and of course, JOEY! I did 10 pull ups and Hip Hop Abs Fat Burning Cardio. Think my body appreciated the easier day.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Jackie

Hiya Cheetahs!! I just had to post my good news- I did a 4.25 mile OUTDOOR run w/ NO pain!!! YIPPEE!! I met up w/ my buddies (dragged myself outta bed at 4:30!), and it felt wonderful even at 18 degrees!!! I really feel like I'm DONE w/ the IT band injury!! I stretched really well too. Will use my foam roller later.

Then after I got my dd's off to school I did GS legs (35 min standing legwork). It felt great.

Just wanted to let you know so that any of you dealing w/ injuries will see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Good morning cheetahs! It's a beautiful day here in N. Ariz and I just had a great 6 mile run on my favorite country dirt road, thru rolling hills, nothing too steep or strenuous-- like it is right outside my front door!

Thomasina- Great to hear from you whenever you have time to check in
:7 Sorry your TM is busted... makes it alot harder to fit in workouts with your busy schedule!

Cathy- Having fun driving around with your Garmin? Looks like you have a long work day ahead but a fun one!

SunnyD- Yes, you do seem busier now than when you were working "full
time"--but you definitely are much happier! There is a lot of "homework" that goes with being a PT that alot of people don't realize. I do so hope you find the time to post a pic, that would be terrific!

Marcia- Glad to hear you're fitting in some runnning time :7 I'm in the health care profession and I have to admit I'm quite puzzled by your pain question. It doesn't seem to be exercise related or induced. Is it along the entire left side of your body? Or is it more centered around your chest. Are you limited in your breathing by pain? and does the pain worsen with deep breathing? Sorry for the interrogation, just trying to narrow it down some.

Wendy- Hey, you survived your monster workout :7 And congrats on
getting up the motivation to get in a step class! It certainly does make a difference to have friends there! Sounds like a good line up of workouts ahead for you. I'm still holding off on getting in a p90x week;-)

Laura- Great to hear from you! That's fantastic that your MIL sold you the land! Building a spec home will save you alot of headaches that comes with a custom built home (believe me I know!) Good job on fitting in the workouts even with all that's going on! I have two of Amy's workouts although not the bootcamp one. I do enjoy her quite a bit and she does have tough challenging workouts (which I love!)

Judy- 6 miles and no pain!!! wooohoooo:7 :7 :7 Sounds promising!

Carole- I occasionally have a flair up with piriformis syndrome in my L hip. I gotta tell you, the foam roller really gets in there better than a tennis ball or anything else I've tried. And it's a heck of alot less embarassing than having a therapist massage your butt cheek;-) Sounds like you have a "butt kickin" workout in store for you today:)

Christine- Wow, is the supercrud finally leaving!!!! You really had it bad, poor cheetah! Yes, you defininitely needed a good hard sleep.... best therapy there is!

Jackie- Sounds like a fun "easy" workout day! Will your 7 mile run be your longest to date?

Time to get busy with the days chores. Going shopping at Costco and various errands. Later today I'll do KM or some cycling... not sure which yet.
Hi to all who follow!

ShellyC

Great news Jess! I bet you're on cloud nine and with good reason!
That was a long frustrating bout you had with the ITB syndrome!
Congratulations!

ShellyC

ShellyC - It's like a sidestitch. It's from my shoulder to just under my ribs. It doesn't hurt until I take deeper breaths. Once in a while I feel it is in my other shoulder, too, but not as painful. It's not a sharp pain, kind of like I just can't get air ???

Weird.
Marcia.

Hi everybody! Very late post for me. This morning I had Kindergarten and then I went cleaning (I clean a friend's house weekly and she pays me good, so it's some income). ANYWAY....just got back and only have time ot post my workout then get to the busstop for DS.

This morning was a 6.5 mile tempo run, with intervals thrown in at the end. I booked it. I feel it now, too! LOL. No DOMS from L&G yesterday, so I kicked it good. I really was shooting for 8 miles, but I overslept a bit.

Bit of a taper week next week, so I'm looking forward to adding in some stepping then.

BBL to catch up!

Gayle

I'm caught up, so I thought I would see what you ladies were up to.

Shelley - Glad you had a great run! I ran 10 miles once last summer but have not done it again. I ended up with a black toe and I think it came from not building up to it. Doing 7 on Saturday will be my longest since then. Hopefully, I won't get another black toe since I'm gradually building up this time. Went to Costco Friday. I don't get to go often but think I could do some serious damage.

Jess - Yay on the 4.25 miles and no pain!!! YIPEE!! Wow, and in 18 degree weather. You go girl! Glad the IT band feels healed.

Wendy - I think you will like BBC. My core is still sore from Monday's Arms & Abs. Then there was core work today.

Gayle - Good job on the tempo run! And, you had energy left to add in some intervals? Hope I get to that point one day.

Jackie

Shoulders and Arms/ARX is done! I upped my weights on most of the exercises! WOOH!}( :D }( I have Yoga X tonight!:)

The thing that worries me about BBC is that I do not have a TM in my home so the cardio will have to be the floor option (unless I sub in a Cathe) and I am worried about it not being intense enough. I mean, I don't need MIC intense (LOL)...but I'd like to work up a good sweat!;) Any thoughts??

I hope to be back a bit later for personals...
