Good morning, cheetahs :)

Yesterday was Shoulders & Arms. I just did not have the steam to add cardio to it but decided I don't have to try to kill myself here. So I will do either Plyo or Kenpo today.

Now to get caught up with yesterday's posts. I read them but didn't have a chance to respond.

Barb :: I really would have to get up at 3:30 to make an AM workout happen on a weekday. As much as I’m an early bird, that is sometimes just too much for me. Which UB workout did you wind up doing?

Wendy :: I checked with the university…I am clear for the 23rd, so yes, I’ll do it!…Also, 3/24 looks good. Why don’t you pick the mall? I am not familiar with either one…Thanks for continuing to school me on P90 :). Your post saved me from feeling the need to play a crazy game of catchup.

Marcia :: Oh! Your post made me realize I forgot ARX! DOH! I am going to find it hard to do that one 3x a week. How’d you do at weigh-in? Fingers crossed you lost big!! I fear my weigh-in a week from today!!…I am doing the Classic. I didn’t look through the nutrition book yet, but I think I’m just going to keep doing what I’ve been doing in that department.

Gayle :: glad the tailbone’s healed! Helluva workout you planned there!

Judy :: thanks! You’re right – I should be fine under an umbrella…So how did you meet YOUR DH?…Yikes! Sorry about the hip flareup. I hope you’re feeling better. I’m trying to think of books…I used to have one that was yoga for runners but the title escapes me at the moment.

Laura :: I sure will…sounds like a hectic schedule yesterday!

Christine :: thanks! A getaway ANYWHERE would be most welcome. :)…I’ve never tried that premix ~ thanks for the review.

Linda :: No shipping news from that Fluidity site – it’s making me nuts!! :) I don’t think it should take long, though, because they are not too far from me…I hear you on Aruba, but when I was pricing hotels, it looked like AI would be about the same cost as non-AI!…I’ve run a half and my long runs were 9-10 miles…you can do it!! (I used my best Tony Little voice for that one!) *lol*

Carole :: hope you enjoyed your run in the rain! I quite like those when it’s warm.

Laurie :: oooh, sounds like a good interview. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this one.

Susan :: don’t feel bad about Mariah’s wipeout ~ there’s no way you can prevent every accident. The scrapes are part of growing up ~ good for her that she bounced right back!…Hope you’re not sore today.

Shelly :: sorry to hear about Birdy’s painful recovery & your lack of sleep…I hope today’s better for both of you…hope you enjoyed your planned sweatfest…I would be worried about my sister, too…How long does she need to be there?…The committee work was loooonng…7:45 – 2:45 with a WORKING lunch…my brains were fried by the end of it, and I hate just sitting all day long. But the presenter & information was pretty decent, so it could’ve been worse!

I can actually breathe today....lol. today's workout will be BBc's shoulders and back plus 30 mins on the elliptical.

cathy- yes, i know (hangs head in shame). i am going to miss tony for a little while and will definitely get back to him right after my cruise but i need to throw more cardio (along with better eating) so i can be ready for my cruise in 7.5 weeks!! you are really going to enjoy the program. :)

susan- no bad mommies awards given. you are an awesome mother. accidents happen. i know we hate when they happen and wish we could avoid them altogether. mariah is very lucky to have you as her mommy!!

I will definitely be back to catch up with you ladies later on today.:7

I was up a pound at weigh-in last night, but like all of you have said muscle weighs more and we all know that I've been lifting MUCH more weight than ever before. I'm still very positive about it. I have step class tonight and will try to get in Arms and Shoulders, but not sure if I will have the time. If not, I will do it on the rest day instead or in place of YogaX.

Cathy - What have you been doing for nutrition? Just curous. ;-) ARX is a toughy.

Sunny - A cruise - HOW FUN - what islands are you going to? Have you ever been cruisin' before? What cruiseline?

Wendy - WHERE ARE YOU?????? I have nobody to follow this morning.;-) ;-)

Ahhhhh - a Cathe Road Trip sounds absolutely heavenly, but unfortuneately there is no way I could swing it. That's busy time for our bar and I don't think I could swing airfare, etc. ;( ;( ;( But, I will be here to cheer all of you on that plan on going.

Sunny: Glad you will get a breather today. I'm so excited for your vacation! It's coming fast! We just booked a family vacation with some of DH's family...OMG girl, I just realized! Are you in NC or SC?? CR@P, I think you are in NC...I am going to Myrtle Beach...isn't that SC?? I don't even know! LOL :p

Marcia: Sorry, I slept in for a whole 15 minutes or so since I didn't have to get up for work this morning. I promise it will never happen again!;) :p :7

So I have a 9:30 appt with a spin bike this morning and then yoga at some point later today.
 
Good morning cheetahs! The east coast gals are up and posting early I see:) Yesterday I could only manage 30 minutes on the EXt following the BM2 Scrambled Egg premix:eek: I forgot how hard that one is! Anyway, today is a rest day for me.... probably;-) If I wake up early with lots of energy I may do a paced 3 mile run.... we'll see. Otherwise, it'll just be some abs and stretching. My poor old Birdy is moving a little easier now, it was breaking my heart to see her in such pain :(

Wendy- Myrtle Beach!!! How nice.... when is your vacation? Congratulations on your leg DOMS yesterday. A yoga session should feel really good today. I wish I could go to the Cathe roadtrip but since I'm travelling to NJ in June it would be a bit much to make the trip again in July/Aug:( sigh..... someday!

Marcia- I so like your attitude!!!:7 I'd say that being up a lb is about what you would expect at this point having started the p90x program.

Cathy- I really don't know how you manage to find the time to work out at all!!! Sounds like you made it through committee day still relatively sane! That's more than I would be able to say:) Thanks for your well wishes about my birdy dog! My Sister and her DH will be in Pakistan for a year, It is their "hardship" assignment, and then they can go to pretty much anywhere they want.

SunnyD- I'm glad you can breathe today:) Also glad to hear you've got a vacation coming up and can get away on a nice cruise!!!!

Good morning Cheetahs! This will need to be a quick post because I have a lot of work to do. Today will be a 3.5 mile treadmill run.
Even though yesterday was a rest day I'm sore today. It must be from ME a couple days ago.

Who is interested in the roadtrip? I might be able to go. So far this year all of my vacation plans have fallen through. During the last roadtrip I was 8 months pregnant with DD and couldn't make it. Hopefully I'll be able to go this year.

Hi Ladies!

It’s raining out there – the kind of rain where you just want to curl up with a good book and laze around. Unfortunately, as it’s rain and not snow, the world moves on as usual… *Shrugs* I think Judy’s PP/SS Upper Body workout will snap me out of this! By the way, I found a new Silk Soy milk that has fiber in it as well. I don't necessarily need more fiber in my diet, but when I use it in my tea and coffee it's more like milk or even cream. I'm really enjoying it. Soy milk has a tendancy to be a bit thin - but this stuff, I guess because of the fiber, is thicker.

Shelly – {{{Hugs}}} on Birdy (and to Birdy). A friend of mine had a search dog that underwent the same surgery – it’s major. The first week was the roughest – you’re getting there. Hannah, the search dog is out searching again, so there’s hope. Glad to hear she’s moving a little easier now. It will get better.

Cathy – how’d you like S&A? Are you doing a GTG with Wendy? How exciting!!

Sunny – enjoy your “Breathing room” day today!! A cruise in 7.5 weeks? Where are you cruising to?!? Sounds like fun!

Marcia – I gained weight at first with P90X as well – it came off later. So don’t sweat it. And it’s only a pound – could be you were bloated yesterday.

Wendy – YEAH! I was reading about the roadtrip! It may end up being on my birthday weekend, too! But, like Marcia, I don’t think I’ll be able to go. I have limited vacation time and need to spend it with the kids – especially as DD17 is going to college next year.

Kristi – have a great day! I hope you can go! Yeah, ME can get you a few days later…

Wendy...when I started dating my DH it was a couple of years after my friend dated him (they only dated 2 months), and her and I had kinda parted our ways by then. So, looks like we might finally get to meet at the Road Trip!!! Enjoy spinning and yoga.

Kristi...I am hoping to make the road trip. I so wanted to go last time but couldn't.

Christine...yes that lower body premix was a killer!! So some DOMS today?? I will have to check out that new soymilk with fiber.

Jess...thanks, glad to hear your DH got to wear a sombrero too! I do feel alot better not eating so many chips...:)..Such good news about your IT band.

Linda...I am on the last week of a P90X modified rotation. I will take a semi recovery week next week and then start another P90X style rotation using the GS series.

Laurie..glad your coffee interview went well...

Judy...how awful about your hip and feeling the pain to your knee. Do you think maybe you should see a PT?

Susan..sorry to hear about little Mariah. You are NOT a bad Mommy. Falls will happen...and you did get back out there with her. Except for the bandaids I bet she will be fine...:)..Good job with Imax2

Shelly...I feel for Birdy, I bet she will get her strength back, it'll just take time. Wow...your sister has one exciting assignment it sounds like. She will be in my prayers...glute/ham feels better today. I think its also one of those slow healing tings!

Tomasina...its been awhile for any ouchie dental work for me! Hope your DH heals quick. We were hoping for snow too...its just wet and about 45 so no snow here.

Laura...when I lost that 17 lbs, I actually lost a few more too. I kept it off about 2 years, but then some stressful times came around and my eating went bad and I have gained some back. But for me it is all about clean eating, that is how you get results.

I will be doing B&G standing, abs (I missed yesterday them yesterday) and maybe an hour on the EXT.

Late Cheetah Checking today... my little kitty wanted to play at 4am. I finally put him outside our BR door. Then I slept in.

Cathy- Yikes your day was long! Sitting for that long aggrevates my lower body! You seem to be having a good attitude about not trying to play catch up with the X.

Barb-Thanks for the book recommendations. I looked at the Runners' World book at Border's yesterday, it doesn't say much about hip pain, although one of the books (Maybe that one?) acknowledges that hip pain may be associated with IB strain. I may check it out again...

As far as orthotics go, I have had custom ones in the past, for treatment of PF. With my latest appearance of PF last year I went to an insert called Powerstep. Powerstep.com

Wendy- When is your trip to MB? DD goes down with my brother and family easter week...We love beach vacations! DH and I (alone) will go to the Carribean at the end of April.

Shelly- How is Birdie today? I think those first few post-op days can be tough. Does he get pain meds? Nice workout y'day; scrambled eggs premix is tough!

G'morning Cheetahs!! Y'day went by fast for some reason. I don't know where it went! I guess that means I was busy! ;-) I did the 20 min dynamic sculpting ball pilates & then GS shoulders y'day afternoon. Today is GS biceps & triceps, and abs (maybe a CoreMax?). Still have a little DOMS from GS Chest, I'm loving it though! I am totally seeing a huge difference in my muscle tone!

Allison & I have a lot of errands to run this morning. I had a call from the pharmacy last night that my medicine had been exposed to cold temperatures?? So they want me to return it & they'll give me another dosage for free. Strange. And we've gotta get groceries & other stuff. My BIL (Greg's other brother) & his wife are coming here tomorrow night & spending the night on their way to my IL's house. It will be fun, the girls love them.

OK, I've got to shower & get moving!

Not as much time as I'd like for personals today...

Judy--How's your hip today? The section in that RW injury book I liked talked about how to make the decision about whether to run based on the quality of the pain and persistence of the pain, e.g. if the pain goes away with running, but then flares back up, then it means more rest is needed.
Thanks for the info on powersteps. I cannot wear them because the arches are too high for me, but I know they are a great product and I have a few friends who wear them (including Elaine!). Would it help to do some firewalkers or something mid-way during the run to stretch out?
But I agree with Carole, maybe you should see your PT

Wendy--when will you be in Myrtle Beach? We may be there for a short vacation this spring??

Cathy- y'day I ended up doing some UB from this total body w.o. tape by Tom Holland, which I bought for my DH, but he didn't use it.
I just did the UB off that tape, with some core & pushups & cardio in between... it was very light. Don't buy the DVD. I didn't feel too worked out after that, so I did the UB heavy weight portion of C&W and walked on the TM. It was an active rest day for me. It was the kind of day where had I taken a total rest day I would have been very stiff today.

Marcia-don't sweat the pound. I agree with what others have said.

Carole -- good job on that run in the rain. You are a trooper to put up with being soaked & wind.

Susan--how's Mariah today? I did baron baptiste's yoga for athletes yesterday, thinking that you would think that was a good idea to do on a day I felt major stiffness coming on. It definitely helped.

Hello again ladies...:7 I only have 6 clients today, so it frees up some of my time.

marcia- we are going in april for our anniversary. crusin' to cozumel, grand cayman and florida keys. we've cruised before and loved it!!

wendy- glad you are not mad at me:p . LOL, myrtle beach is in SC about 4 hrs away from me. we are also planning (beginning stages) a family vacation with friends, possibly to MB. when are you going? for us we are looking at sometime in the summer. wouldn't it be great if we were there at the same time!!

judy- i hope your hip feels better today.

carole- great job on the weightloss!! oh my, you have me eyeing p90x again..lol

kristi- did you enjoy your weekend "off" without the kiddos?

barb- when are you going to myrtle beach- i responded to wendy, we may be going also this year. it would be so great if we were all there at the same time.:)

shelly- you truly do some amazing workouts. i often wonder where do you find all of your energy. do you have a big S on your chest...lol

just thought i would share- after reading some of your stories re: meeting your dh. i am somewhat opposite i met dh many, many years ago, he was the roommate of my then bf. i remember meeting him and thinking what a cutie. about 10 years later we run into each other again ( he was still looking mighty da$m cute) and the rest is history!!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words about me not being a bad mommy:)

Mariah is doing so much better today. She is ready to go out and ride again today, but it is pouring down rain, so it will have to wait.

Are all of you cheetahs going on the road trip this year? I definitley want to go.

I have a pretty busy day. I work in Ally's classroom and then pt appointment and then all of Upper body split for my workout. I am not sore at all today from Imax 2, which is a great thing. I am not doing any cardio today just to make sure I give my back a day of rest.

I am feeling kind of gross and fat today. I don't know why. I have been eating pretty well, but just feel puff this morning. It could be the weather. I am definitley one that has to have some sun to feel at my best.

Anyway, I am off to take the kids to school, which is a good thing becuase they are killing each other today(LOL)!

Cathy – Hmm…Hopefully you will get something on your Fluidity soon…if not the actual Fluidity sitting on your doorstep! Thanks for the confidence on the ½! So the longest training runs you had before the ½ was 9 or 10? That sounds good!

Sunny – That’s what I like about BBC! It is like P90X and GS’s, in a way, but shorter and more versatile, especially when short on time! Maybe things will settle down and you can start another P90X rotation sometime soon (after your cruise! Woohoo). That sounds like such fun!. Wow! You are doing sooo well with the training!

Marcia –I agree with the others… I’ll bet the pound is muscle, or fluid from building muscle!

Wendy – I want to go on the road trip sooo badly! But I only have 2 weeks vacation, and I am going to California for Camp Turbokick in August and planning on going to the IDEA conference. That leaves me with only 1 week left….and DH wants to go to Vegas in Oct. so….I doubt I’ll get to go  Unless….my friend decides we aren’t going to the IDEA conference…which would be fine with me! Enjoy your appt. with the spin bike!

Shelly – I loved the Scrambled eggs premix on BM2! It is a goodie! Good job on it and the EXT! I hope Birdy is doing better today! Poor little thing 

Kristi – Yes, we do need to sign up asap! I am not sure where to stay. I think I may wait until they have the form to print off and send my check in that way, instead of doing it on line. I am excited! I hope this all works out! I probably won’t be able to go on the roadtrip because of lack of vacation time. That would be great if you got to go!

Christine – Aw man! That sounds like a morning that I would love to have and be able to go back to bed with a book! I need some down time!!! The soy milk sounds good!

Carole – That sounds like a good rotation plan! Have fun with your workout!

Judy – Glad you got to sleep in! Isn’t it funny how cats and puppies are sooo ready to play at that hour! Madison will NOT let me out of taking her out at 4  Hope your hip is doing better today!

Jess – I love Gymstyles! I think out of any series I have EVER done…the one that I saw the most dramatic changes in my body was that one! They are my #1 favorites!

I’m back! I’ve decided that with Wendy being on the P90X rotation and being very consistent in her exercises, the group required someone else to step in and be unable to make up her mind on what to do…:+ I realized that I have 3 hours worth of meetings and 10 hours worth of work, so I needed to get a good workout this morning and I wanted a calorie burner. So I subbed Judy’s PP/SS Upper Body Blast with BMax 2’s C&W premix – and added the bonus cardio on to the end. That one is fun, in case anyone wants to try it. I am really hoping to get to the gym and do some elliptical, but I’m not 100% certain I will be able to.


Carole – have fun with B&G Standing – love that workout. I don’t have DOMs exactly, but I could feel it in my legs this morning. My legs can take a pounding and not really be sore – just tired. My upper body is not the same. :p

Judy – hope your hip is better. I think I’m just too chicken to try your Mish Mosh! :p

Jess – yeah the GS series is wonderful for definition. I really like it.

Barb – how did the interval run go? Enjoy work!

Sunny – the soy milk is Silk (brand name) with Fiber (it’s in a blue container). I’m really liking it. Usually soy is too thin for my coffee, but this is good. It tastes like soy milk which to some is an acquired taste, but I like it now. Love your story about DH.

Oh Susan – I am SOOO with you. On rainy days, no matter how well I’ve been eating, or how much I work out, I always feel fat and lazy. You look fabulous – I should know – I just saw you. Enjoy your busy day. I think working in Ally’s classroom will give you some sunshine. 

Linda – I know – a good book and a nice cup of sugar free cocoa would be wonderful, wouldn’t it? I’m ignoring all references to Fluidity because DH would murder me if I bought something else… But great job on the 6 mile tm run!

Hiya to all who follow!!! DH postponed his trip 'til next week, so I have him at home for another week. YEAH!!! (I say that now... :p)
 
Well ladies...SPIN kicked my arse today so I am heading in for a nap soon.:)

I am not sure if I will do yoga right after my nap or tonight after DS goes to bed but I think I am going to give Mr. YP another try!:9
