::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Thurs., 2/15

Barb..so far I like the music on B&G. My favorite thing though is the warm-up using the stability ball as that is so different than most of Cathe workouts. WOW...8 inches of snow....!! http://bestsmileys.com/winter/6.gif[/img]

Good morning!

Cathy - thanks so much for getting the list together! And thank you for the shirt order! Enjoy the kickboxing!

Marcia - Enjoy your day! I know what you mean about hating to be rushed during your workouts!

Wendy - Be careful out there! Enjoy your yoga, if you do that! If not...enjoy your stretch!

Judy - Glad you are doing okay in the snow! Hope the kitty finds his way back home! I am up there with you "seniors", too. :)

Laurie - I hope Faith feels better! Cheerleading comp. sounds fun! Hope she feels better soon! Good job on the eating! Wish I could say the same about me!

Gail - Enjoy the snow day! Glad you had a good workout! Sounds interesting!

Karen - The sleigh riding sounds so fun! Glad you had a good day! Good job on your running and glad leg is doing well!

Kristi - Enjoy your run! Hope you feel better!

Barb - Enjoy whatever you decide to do! Hope DH makes it home safely and that you catch up on your rest!

Christine - Hope your DH makes it home okay, too! The Girl Scout cookies and wine sounds good! (but sorry DH wasn't home on VD!) Yummy...the salad sounds good, too! I am hungry, can ya tell? :+

Carole - Enjoy B&G and your cardio! I love Imax2! It has been sooo long since I have done that one!

Well, this morning I did Barry's Bootcamp Arms and Abs and ran with CC#2 revised.

Talk to you guys later!

Linda

Hi Linda--That sounds like a good w.o. today. I have a lot of DVDs & things on my shopping list. It's turning into a rest day -- just too much to get done around the house before leaving for work. I see your bday is around the corner!

Carole--I like that w.u., too -- it is creative. Seems like Cathe put a lot more core moves on this new series.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies,
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That is me this morning. I am done with chocolate and bad food. I ate sooooo much yesterday, but I am definitley glad it is over. My hubby and I had a very nice lunch and he got me the 2lbs of See's milk chocolate buttercreams and some beautiful Lily's. I really am lucky:) But, today I need to get back on track with the eating.

I talked to my mom last night and just got so depressed. She is going on to her second round of chemo and she is getting another cat scan today to see how far the tumor has spread. She is being so strong and positive, but I think that makes me even more sad. I think I have been trying not to think about the cancer lately, that it really snuck up on me last night when I got off the phone. I am feeling so angry with her lately because of all the years of smoking and not taking care of herself. I know that sounds harsh and not very supportive. My feelings are just all over the map this morning. Anyway, I did not mean to go on. Mariah and I are going to bake some cookies and bread today to send to her as a little care package.

I have a pt appointment today and then I am going to do all of PUB and maybe a 30 minute elliptical workout if I have time. My back is feeling really good today and yesterday. I will attempt another run probably on Sunday.

Thanks for the compliments on my cheetah pic. That was taken after all the food I ate and I was totally bloated.

I have no time for personals right now. I gotta go make lunches for kiddies for school.

susan

Good morning cheetahs! Sorry I've been MIA for a few days:-( I've actually had a pretty long stretch of nights off but I've had to go in for several meetings, training sessions, interviews, etc. ACK...
more tiring then "working"!
Anyway, hope to get back on track now:7 I was able to get in a good run yesterday. Did 5 miles and it felt great, maintaining a good steady 9:00 pace. I got in the BM2 bootcamp premix before going in for yesterdays training session and did the run afterwards.

Susan- Great pic!!!!! You don't even look a teensy bit bloated to me! I'm so sorry for what your Mom is going through now. Hope the CT scan shows some positive results. Lung cancer can be tricky and difficult depending on the stage it's in. Your feelings of resentment/anger are perfectly NORMAL!!! I hope you're not beating yourself up over guilt from it. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you for the difficult time you're going through with this.

I'll check some prior postings and try to catch up with some personals. Today will be HCE#2, the interval one and later a good sweaty hour long EXT workout :7

I'll be back!

ShellyC

Okay... back for some personals!!:) :7 :7 :7

Cathy- Now you've put together a birthday list??? Your thoughtfulness and generosity of spirit really floors me:eek: DOMS can be tricky sometimes arent they? I've done plenty of workouts where I'm sure I'll be hurtin the next day and ... nothing! Others will sneak up on you. I think sometimes subtle variations will hit a muscle in a different way and then... watch out}( Have a great time with the KB workout today.

Marcia- I don't blame you for opting out of your workout when you don't really have enough time. I hate being rushed also, especially with weight workouts, it ends up really not doing you any good... wise move!

Wendy- Hey, if you have time at all could you possibly share with me that killer UB KB mishmosh? If it's a killer workout you KNOW I have to try it!! I love your new avatar pic by the way! You are SO darn cute :* Sounds like stretch max is a good option for you today!

Judy- With all the reports of mega snow I've been thinkin of ya!
I guess you're surviving OK. Hope the stray kitty makes it through but they are usually smart enough to hole up somewhere safe.
BTW I tried that PP/SS combo last week.... loved it! DOMS everywhere.... and that rarely happens!

Laurie- sorry you're dealing with a sick kiddo:( Kudos to you for tackling HSTA after all the shovelmax workouts!!!!

Gayle- Glad you've gotten another day off thanks to the snow!!
Sounds like you're keeping in top shape and getting in some great workouts, as usual.

Karen- nice job on the tempo run and congratulations on some excellent smart training:)

Kristi- alot of snow for you in the Ohio valley? Great news that you'll have a restfull kid free weekend:7 :7 Hope it gives you a chance to reenergize.

Barb- Hiya Michigan cheetahgal! Sounds like you've been coping well with DH gone. I hope he makes it back tonight!

Christine- I think GS cookies are an absolute requirement for a true pity party;-) One nice thing about being away from work for me is avoiding all the extra food/candy laying around! Circuit MAX I think is a great antidote for sugar hangovers. You're fajita salad sounds YUMMY :*

Carole- I guess you've had an injury while I've been MIA:( I know you're doing the smart right thing though!! You are always right on top of these things and they never seem to bother you more than a few days! I wish I had you're wisdom last year!!! Have a great leg workout and run (or EXT)

Linda- Great CC run today!!! How's the weather in W.VA?

Well, time to kick the butt into gear! I'll check in later... sorry again for being too overwhelmed to check in lately. I missed my dear cheetahs!

ShellyC

Susan - You didn't look even the slightest bit bloated! You look great! I am sorry about your mom going through the cancer! I really hope everything goes well! I went through a ton of different emotions when my dad was ill. They say that is completely normal.

Shelly - Hi there! Glad you had a good run and workout yesterday! Too bad you had to go to so many meetings, etc on your days/nights off! That stinks! enjoy your workout!

Linda

Shelly - We must have been posting at the same time! THe weather here is cold! It was very icy and snowy yesterday. But the sun is out today and it is supposed to stay cold! I have been riding to work with DH because of the ice.

Oh ladies...I don't know what's wrong with me today! I woke up in a fine mood but for some reason once I realized I couldn't get my car out to go to class I suddenly turned fowl!x( I think I am suffering from cabin fever. ACK! I feel sleepy and lethargic on top of it! I also developed a slight headache for some reason which always brings me down. Instead of trying to decide which cardio to do I am now trying to decide where to take a nap! I guess it wouldn't be the WORST thing in the world if all I did today was X stretch...I basically have total body doms right now anyway and I can get my yoga in on Sunday after my run I suppose....I don't know...we'll see what happens....*sigh*

I'll be back a bit later for personals. Thanks for listening to me complain! LOL

Susan-I agree.....the feelings are completely normal. It's tough to be the 'bystander' when somebody we love battles cancer. And the resentment you feel! NORMAL! On a personal note, (and sort of grim, so sorry) I used to tease DH that if he didn't start taking care of himself, that I'd be enjoying a widowed life with his life insurance. HORRIBLE that I teased him and then things went down the way they did (minus, unfortunately ANY life insurance). It's just so hard...the whole entire battle. I feel for you...honestly and personally. If you ever need to talk, PM me any time. Having been in your shoes, and being in them again now as my mom fights it also, I understand. ANYWAY.........sorry to babble. Sometime once I get going.

Wendy-I vote to nap and see how you feel later. "Total Body DOMS" must be the theme of the day because not only is my lower half making me walk funny, DOMS is starting to set in already from the KB/UB mish mosh this morning! LOL. NAP....play it by ear.

OK....off for more laundry STILL!

Gayle

Hello Cheetahs,

Yay, today is TGIF for me! Then I get 4 days off – woo hoo! Today was a run and leg work from L & G. I have a bit of DOMS in the triceps from LIC yesterday. Can somebody please PM me Judy’s PP/SS mish mosh? I really would like to give that a go this weekend.

Cathy – Thanks so much for the b-day list and coordinating another round of cheetah shirts! I will PM you the info needed. Are these t-shirts dri-realease? I thought I saw that on the sizing page link you sent. If they are then WOW! I love dri-realease shirts. You’re the leader cheetah, that’s for sure!

Marcia – Yep, I hear ya. I don’t like to rush workouts either. I don’t know what PX90 nutrition is but I am getting results from sticking to eating as clean as possible. Good luck with your PX90 plan!

Wendy – Awe like they say, “things happen for a reason” and today the reason your car won’t budge is probably because you shouldn’t be out on the icy roads in the first place and second that you need to NAP!! Take a dang napping rest day, girl! I did the other day and it did the trick.

Judy – Hey whirlwind Judy! Hope the kitty found his way to the garage. Nice of you to help him! Have fun with your busy day and please PM me your PP/SS mish mosh if you can. I would really love to try it.

Laurie – Oh gosh, I hope you don’t have any massages to do today with your arms in that condition. Sorry your DD is not feeling good. If she’s resting today then hopefully she’ll be good to go by this weekend for her competition. Poor kids, I know how hard they push themselves for something great like that. My DS pushed himself through football practice and a game last season while he suffered from a terrible cold and cough. There was no way I could talk him into “missing”. Sending Faith healing vibes and wishing good luck in the competition.

Gayle – Luuuuccckeeeeee. I want a snow day! Have fun with your boys today!

Karen – how fun to have a snow day and get to sled around. We have some good hills on our property so when we do get an occasional snow day, we get out the sleds as well.

Kristi – take it from one busy cheetah to another; get some rest!! I used to enjoy when my mom would take the kids overnight (when they were younger). First thing I would do is sleep in!! LOL

Barb – hi and I hope your DH makes it home today. He must be pretty miserable himself. My DH is such a homebody that he would be going crazy and getting very grumpy if he were stuck somewhere.

Christine, Christine, Christine – You are not alone girlfriend…LOL I too indulged in the vineyard last night. 2 glasses WHAT?? And then my DH gave me some of his DOVE DARK CHOCOLATE promises. }( YEEEEUUUM!! Worth every unclean bite! Today is a new day to sweat out the sugar toxins!!

Carole – What kind of cookies did you make? Yum.. I hope you can run pain free today!

Linda – Be safe in that ice. I would be riding with my DH too! I hate the ice.

Susan – Hang in there. Baking those items with your DD for your mom is very sweet and positive thing to do. Uh, and if that is bloated in your pic, then I’ll take your bloated any day! You look great!

Hey Shelly! WOW, you’re a booty kickin’ cheetah. A strong 5 miler along with BM2 Bootcamp?

Where’s JESS??

Back to work for me! Have a good day!

Thomasina

Hey all!

Did CM with a barbell this morning – I always forget just how fun that one is – then walked the doggies and was happy to note that when I stepped on the scale, the damage from yesterday was nil. I didn’t lose, BUT I didn’t gain either. *PHEW!* So, you have before you, one happy Cheetah!

Carole – glad to hear you’re not feeling as much pain! I really enjoyed Imax 2 yesterday as well. It’s just a fun silly workout that works you hard and makes you smile. Gotta love that!

Gayle – Thanks for the Mish Mosh – I can’t wait to try it. Maybe tomorrow!

Barb – I was surprised that there was no damage from the wine/cookie feast – and it was a good one! I wonder if it’ll hit tomorrow. Oh well. I’ll work through that too. My DH has a direct flight from Sydney to San Francisco, so he’ll get here barring any mechanical issues – it’s supposed to be nice. Hope your DH has the same conditions. I was so odd this morning – couldn’t seem to complete one task. I start something, remember I had to do something, and move to that before finishing what I started. I got done with my workout and found like six different things I had to complete. Of course I was LATE!!! Fortunately, they are not time freaks here at my job.

Linda – hope you got something to eat! And the wine/cookie fest was good – I’m not going to lie. I opened up a really good bottle of wine. Fortunately, I put the leftovers in the other room, so I won’t be too tempted tonight! I’ll share the rest with DH when he gets home. Sounds like you have a great workout! Thanks for the well wishes for DH.

Susan – take a deep breath and realize that you have a right to your feelings and allow yourself the ability to feel them. I went through the same ones – anger that my mom used every diet pill, pain pill, prescription… and certainty that that was what caused her liver cancer and if only she had done, this or that or something else, she would not have cancer. And she would be there for me always. It’s normal and don’t feel badly because you feel this way. But, don’t let it interfere with you conversations with your mom, because when all is said and done, what you will remember the most are the times you spent with you mom – in person or on the phone… {{{{HUGS}}}} And if you ever need to vent, complain, cry or just talk to someone who has been through this recently, call me. I’m literally right around the corner.

Shelly – I’m sooo with you on meetings being more tiring than work! I HATE meetings! How did you like the BootCamp premix? I think that one’s fun. Yeah, I did the pity party right! Fortunately, I’m back on track today. :+

Wendy – allow yourself a nap, then when you wake up, stand outside for a few minutes (bundled up, of course) to allow the sun to hit you. That should help. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

Lifts a glass of water to Thomasina – I’ll drink to that! Love the attitude – today is a new day! And I did sweat out the toxins. I’m feeling pretty good right now. Good job on the run and L&G! That must have sweated out the sugar toxins for you very well!!

Hugs to all! Must go pretend I have a job… :p

I fell in love with HSTA again this morning. I haven't done the workout 'as is' in a year or more and the hour felt like about 35 minutes. I love the upper/body work in this (disclaimer, I bailed on pushups and did heavy weights instead). I got my yoga in and feel well stretched.

Gayle, boy you didn't waste anytime diving into that mish-mosh! I'll give it a go on Sunday. Laundrymax is the workout that just never ends!

Karen, sounds like you made the best of the snow day! So glad your ITB isn't giving you any grief!

Wendy, I'm not surprised that she would still compete, one person off of the squad and the whole routine can be shot. Even with her cold, Faith is insisting that I take her to practise and 2:45. I admire her commitment to the team, she may stay on the side for most of it but she'll be there.

Kristi, I used to love getting a break from the Kids when they were really little, but no sooner would I feel that and I would start to miss them. Hope you get a nice long, late sleep in.

Barb, hope DH gets home safe and soon. Nothing like a good night's sleep though, my head hit the pillow before 11:00 last night and I slept through until 6:30, so nice...:)

Christine, I enjoyed some Shiraz last night as well:) Perfect Valentine's Day salve :)

Carole, IMAX2 is such a feel good workout! Okay, this is me out of the loop again! What's an EXT?:D

Susan, my heart goes out to you Honey (((Hugs))), you go ahead and feel what you naturally feel and vent it here. I went through something similar when my Dad died, wishing he had taken better care of himself but life is all about the choices we make. I never loved him any less, just pined for more time in his light. I'm really glad that your back is feeling better. You look lovely in your Cheetah Tee!:)

Yikes, I'm bailing on personals again, so sorry but Miss Faithy is bound and bent to get to practise and she's too short to drive:+ :p :7

Take Care
Laurie

Hi there! Back from a great morning's workout. Wendy inspired me to also add on the DM legblast premix. That's one I haven't done before. However I did not add on the extra leg work  I may have to seriously shorten my late afternoon EXT workout:eek:

I just found a wonderful 5k race that I absolutely HAVE to do!!
Check this out... www.runforthecheetah.com. It's on April 21st.

Wendy- Thank you so much for the pm on that killer mishmosh! I'll put that on the tab for tomorrow}( I think you're body is really telling you you need the rest. A good stretchx session should help also.

Linda- Hiya! Stay warm :) I'd be having DH drive me also!

Thomasina- Great to see you posting!! Have a wonderful stretch off:7
You did a run and L&G... and you're calling me a booty kicker?

Christine- Glad to hear you suffered no ill effects from the GS cookie/wine pity party. I just love a good glass of cabernet in the evening before supper myself:9 On my nights off of course! My parents call it attitude adjustment hour;-)

Jess- I forgot to say hi to you earlier:eek: How is the ITband been treating you lately?

Hope everyone else is having a great day!
Later

ShellyC

Shelly-I just had to respond! You've GOT TO do that run! I love that pic of the cheetah at the top of their website. Makes me feel FAST! LOL.

Gayle

Hey Ladies!

Thanks for the positive vibes. Sometimes I need to be reminded that it's okay be "lazy" on ocassion. I slept for 2 hours! Oh my! LOL Mentally I feel better. :) I still have a headache but it's not bad so I'm going to try not to let it get me down. I don't want to rush to try and get in a work out before DS gets up from his nap but I just might get in some cardio tonight when he goes to bed instead!}( If it wasn't so cold and icey out there I'd go out to a step class tonight at 6:30 but I'd have to take DS since DH won't be home and I don't want to do that to him...BRRRRR!

I'm off to make a cup of coffee and then intend to get my arse back here for personals...I hope I make it this time!:p

I'm back again cheetahs! My 3.5 mile run can be checked off my to-do list. On a very happy note, I got a surprise from work. All of the non-commission paid employees received a $1000 check , minus taxes x( of course, which really means I have almost $700 of free me money. DH refuses to let me spend it on him or the kids since I normally don't buy stuff for myself. I figure I will save most of it for my girl's weekend in May when I fly out to NC (and hopefully get to see SunnyD while I'm there:) ).

Question of the Day: If you unexpectedly received some money, like this, what would you buy or do with it?

Wendy - If I lived close by I would swing by your house to pick you up and head to Starbucks for some coffee to cheer you up. I hope your day gets better.

Thomasina - You are right. Sleeping in on Saturday morning is my #1 priority. Afterwards I plan to run my 6 mile long run on the treadmill and try to relax the rest of the day. Maybe I'll get to spend some of my bonus money.

Gayle - Your soup recipes sound delicious. I bookmarked them to try. Tis the season for soup!

Shelly C - Welcome back stranger! Luckily we didn't get much in the way of snow. Last night we only received a dusting of the white stuff, but the night before everything turned to ice from the rain we received. Getting the kids and myself to work was an adventure to the say the least.

Carole - I noticed you are having a birthday tomorrow. Any big plans?

Talk to ya later.

Hello ladies,
Thank you SO much for the kind words that you ladies offered about my mom and how I feel. It really helped me to understand that what I am feeling is normal. I TRULY thank you guys for that. I have been pretty much avoiding her lately and when she called last night, I was so not mentally prepared. But, I am feeling better now and am definitley going to send her a care package of goodies and a nice note.

Well, I went to my pt appointmet and my back is SOOOOO much better. It is even better than the last time. I really think for me taking the rest days has really helped and laying off some of the high impact stuff. I think next week I am going to do half of an Imax and see how I feel and also do 1 short run. This physical therapy has helped me so much.

Where is that eating check-in? I really need it today. I guess I could start it, but it feels kind of late right now. I have been super good though.

Wendy, it is interesting how we can become so anxious about getting a workout in. I am so like that too. I am really trying to let myself bail now and then and not feel so guilty about it. I always feel that my day is not complete if I have not done something. I am finding though that my body usually tells me when it is time to take a break, I just don't always listen}( Just relax today and you can have a kick-butt workout tomorrow.

I will be back later for more personals. I am off to get my Mariah.

Thanks again guys for your warm and kind words.

Susan

I made it back!;)

Kristi, You are sweet. Where do you live? I can be ready in 15 minutes!;) :7 Congrats on the bonus-AWESOME!:)

Barb, First MIC which is a killer then CF which I can't handle yet! Jeesh! LOL :p

Linda, So how do you like Barry's Bootcamp. I am hemming and hawing over making that my next fitness purchase once the X rotation is over! }(

Susan, Sorry you are feeling down over your mom. Who can blame you though? It's okay to have the feelings you are having. I think it's probably natural. (((((hugs)))))

Shelly, You will probably find my mishmosh EASY cause you are a CRAZY CHEETAH!:)

Gayle, DOMS is great but total body DOMS can put a damper on things. Makes it hard to...well...MOVE! LOL :p

Thomasina, Enjoy your 4 day weekend girl!

Christine, Glad there was no damage done by y'day's eating. I did NOT get on the scale this morning! :p

Laurie, HSTA ROCKS! Glad you had fun with it! I give your daughter credit. I was never a "joiner" in school. I went to school and came home. That was it! I was lazy!!!! I kind of envy the kids who get involved and wish I had that kind of motivation when I was a kid! Good for your DD!:)

Okay, I think that's everyone! Now I must go see about getting my car out!

BBL folks!
