I didn’t manage to check in yesterday, but I got in a 6-mile run + GS CT after school. Today I’m going to play by ear and see what I’m up for. Whoo, lotta posts yesterday…

Christine :: (((HUGS))) and positive vibes comin’ atcha!! Hang in there…the waiting can be excruciating…I hope you can keep distracted as much as possible. Your posts have me cracking up about icing your boob at work, looking like a weird mime, and screaming & running out of the room at the idea of possibly becoming a vegan. You're too funny!

Shelly :: so glad the adductor has progressed! Awesome!

Wendy :: I think I am the same way when it comes to workouts, which is why I have yet to try a full-fledged rotation. What a commitment-phobe! lol

Sunny :: just realized your first 5K is this Saturday…hope the ankle issue goes away!

Laurie :: oops! Misread your post the other day…thought you had a date lined up!

Carole :: I thought they were both great dancers, but I’m glad Emmitt won. Mario’s partner looked like she was going to have a meltdown after the results. Looks like those two have been getting hot n’ heavy, eh?

Elaine :: I tend to crave plain ol’ skim milk after my runs…decent source of protein, I always thought…but I wonder if I should try a protein smoothie after?? I also read recently that chocolate milk is great for recovery.

Mattea :: that’s funny – when I was a kid, I used to love going outside for walks in the rain or splashing in puddles after. My shoes were still soaked yesterday (from Monday), so I had to use my old kicks.

Jess :: sorry about the tooth mishap! Glad your brother is in Kuwait and not Iraq.

Thomasina :: good to see ya! You seem to be doing well despite the recent hip issues.

this morning the only workout i am doing is a a segment of SM.

cathy- thanks. it feels better already. i am just gonna be careful for the next couple of days. i thought the same thing about mario and his partner.

mattea- that is so great you already seeing results from b&g. for some reason that workout just scares.

chrisine- so are you doing b&g today. good luck! although i know you will have no problem with it.

susan- did you get all of your yummy cakes done yesterday? how did you like cardio fusion?

laura- if i lived closer to you i would take your class. although it sounds really tough, lol

ld- early morning is the only time i can fit in a workout.

judy- glad to see you have your computer issues worked out.

are there any tips you wise ladies can share with me re: the 5k on saturday? like should i rest now? or is it best to do something? or anything else i should/n't be doing??? my nerves are starting to get to me and i just want to make sure i am ready. thanks in advance!

Morning Ladies!

Cathy: I think I may have actually completed 1 MAYBE 2 of Cathe's rotations and 1 of Debbie's (fitnessfreak) w/o quitting early for some reason or another! LOL I have tried MANY more times than I have succeeded, TRUST ME! I have also tried creating a month long rotation for myself to follow but have a hard time creating it AND following it. I now only plan for one week at a time. It seems to be working better for me. :) Hey, I am considering a GymStyles rotation for December. I have not done the GS series in a long while. I am thinking of alternating them with running (or other cardio if I have to) for a month. What kind of results are you getting from what you are doing??

Sunny: I would say rest or do U/B tomorrow. Work out today. I wouldn't worry about that! GOOD LUCK! I know you'll do GREAT!:+

Well, I got a call last night from a mom I work with. Her son is sick so I'm going to be covering her shift at work this morning. For this reason my run is being delayed until DH gets home from work. I will hi-tail it to the gym as soon as he walks in so that I don't have to drag poor DS back there with me. DH is on an early bowling league though so I'll have to pay close attn to the time...

Hey! NO DOMS FROM B&G!!!!!!!!!!! Is that a GOOD thing or a BAD thing?? LOL

Wendy- no DOMS from B&G ? perhaps they wil be delayed another day and show up today. Or perhaps you need to deeper into the fire walkers and lunges or perhpas your legs are really awesome already!!

Yesterday my butt and upper outer thigh were very sore. From: Mon run 6 interval miles w/ cardio coach, B&G from lunges series to end, Tues :LIC, then tennis match, W: run 4.2 gradual increase speed miles.

Today is uper body of BM2 (Once only this week }( ) and yoga. After 4 good days of cardio and a long run planned for tomorrow, Yoga will feel good.

I don't know what the reason is for no DOMS. I had considered the fact that it will come on tomorrow instead and that thought scares me!:eek: LOL

Susan- I preview Cardio fusion while running on the TM yesterday. It would be hard for me to complete without getting familiar with the BM step for now.

Christine- I'm still praying for you and have a positive vibes for you.

Hi Jes- I'm glad the Cathe workouts are keeping you busy while you recover with you IT band. BTW you were in my marathon dream last night. I think you ran it. It must be from me looking at your great pictures!

G'morning Cheetahs!! I got up & did IMAX 2 this morning. I just love that workout, it has such a fun factor to it!! And I knew there was a workout that has an IT band stretch in it, but couldn't remember which one.

Hannah & Kiersten had mis-match day today, so they were ALL mis-matched!! It was a riot! Hannah was wearing a pink & grey shirt w/ red pants, & orange socks. Kiersten was wearing a pink striped turtleneck & some leggings that have ALL kinds of colors on them w/ rainbow socks & they both had mismatched piggy tails & barrettes . I took some pics, they look hilarious!

I don't have much time, I'm meeting my bf Marsha for breakfast & then she's watching Allison again for me for my PT appt. I could really feel a difference last night as I was doing my foam roller & stretches, I'm really able to stretch deeper & w/ less pain since I've been going to the PT. Now I'm itching to try a run, but I'll be a good girl & wait til next week. It's been this long I may as well wait until I'm *sure* I'll have a pain-free run.

I might do GS C & T this afternoon. I've only done 2 circuits this week, need to do a little more heavy lifting!! ;-) This is one of my fav workouts anyway, I love it now that I can do all of the pushups!!

Not much else after my PT appt & NO plans for tonight! We've had something going on every day so far this week so we can relax & watch Survivor tonight! :)

Cathy...I was sooooo happy Emmit won!! I have followed his career and I think he is just the sweetest guy! I agree that Mario and his partner we getting hot and heavy!

Sunny...I have a few Windsor Pilates DVD's and I have some Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste yoga DVD's. You could do some light cardio today and maybe some yoga or stretching tomorrow..I can't believe it is getting so close!!

Wendy...no DOMS from B&G????Wow...I didn't have much the 2nd time but the 1st...YEOW!

Judy...enjoy BM2 upper and Yoga. I skipped yoga yesterday...:(...laundry called...:)

Elaine...I ended up skipping Yoga as I needed to get some laundry done before work. I did have a nice 6 mile tempo run though. Do you think you will wait to try the new Cathe's until after CIM?

Susan...I agree with the others about your massage therapists suggestion...sounds not quite right. I am curious how much protein she thinks you need daily?

Laurie...I will check out those DM prmixes today! So did you make any banana bread?

Mattea..glad you had some sunshine! Isn't B&G awesome...I know I wil be doing that one every week!

Christine...good job with Cardio Fusion. I do that one Sat. I am glad to hear you are feeling more grounded..:)...eeeewww though, especially dislike those donuts with the gunk inside....YUK!! I will admit to eating a cheese with just a bit of casein in it!! it is a cheese called Soya Kaas, and alot better than the vegan cheeses I tried. Other than that cutting out dairy was easy for me. Yes Vegan Planet rocks!!!

Jess...sorry about the cracked crown!! Glad to hear the PT is going well for your IT band injury.

Tomasina!!! Nice to see ya!!! That is awesome you are running again....I would love to do a half....but...on that date in Jan, I am doing a 3 person marathon relay here!!

Quick check-in as I'm getting ready for work. I did the LIC cardio blast premix (not a big fan of the blasts in this one, don't know if it's my height or leg length or ???? but tapping the step or my shoe just ain't gonna happen!!! When in doubt I power 15}( ) I finished with a few tracks of Jari's Slim and Lean, I liked it, same music as CardioKicks in it and the stretch was the same Asian music in some of Cathe's stretches.

Susan, massage therapists are notoriously caring so I doubt that yours had any mal-intent I just personally think it's a conflict and out of scope to advise clients on nutrition (JMHO):) Massage therapists touch (pun intended:)) on many of the 'ology's' in school (biology, physiology, pathology....) I personally think that in some areas we just know enough to be dangerous:+ :p :7 Did you get all of your baking done?

ETA~Hi Carole, I think you'll like the DM cardio premixes. I didn't get the banana bread made yesterday but will try again this afternoon:)

Laurie - Good workout! I love S&L. I finally ordered Ripped 1000 a couple of days ago. Can't wait to get it. I am thinking of starting to rotate Jari's weights for a month or so. I did that over the summer and really liked them.

Carole - I really liked Emmit. He seemed so genuinely nice! Mario and his partner were really good, too! It would have been a tough decision! I loved them both!

Jess - Good job on Imax2! I love that one,too! It is fun, fun, fun! The girls sound too cute! Have fun with C&T this afternoon! I love that one, too.

Judy - good job on the workouts! Yes, I think the yoga would feel great after all of that!

Wendy - Hmm....maybe the DOMS will hurt later! I had tremendous DOMS the day after I did B&Gs the first time. Not as bad the second time,though! HAve a good morning at work and enjoy your post work run!

Sunny - Good luck Saturday! I ran a very easy short run the day before my 5k. That was my first race ever, so I was kind of afraid that if I didn't, I would be stiff the morning of the race. Since then, I have read advice, though, saying it is good to take the day before off. I guess it is really up to you. I felt pretty good after my "easy" run the day before. Have fun!

Cathy - Hey there! Good job on the run and C&T!!! I love that combo! Have fun with whatever you do today!

Christine - Hopefully, it is just cysts, all the way around! (your thyroid as well as the breast). Still thinking of you and trying to send good vibes your way! Oh....by the way....I get very red faced and white faced running, too! I have seriously thought about becoming a vegetarian. Not sure if I could go as far as being a vegan, but I would truly love to give it a try. I do think I would feel a lot better!

Elaine - Good luck with your marathon! You are amazing! Seems like you just did one! I think it would be so exciting to be able to run one! One of these day.......I will do that....I hope

Last night I did Cathe's new Cardio Fusion and the floorwork and abs from B&G. It was a fun workout! Uh oh. I find myself wanting to do more video cardio than I have been doing. I am afraid if I do that, I won't be able to build any distance with my running.
:-( I don't know what to do. All of these new workouts keep calling my name! Maybe I should not try to build distance until after the first of the year. Sorry....thinking out loud, here :+

Hi Cheetahs - I'm actually busy at work! Yeah! So, I have to be quick here, but I wanted to say hi! Still not feeling well, so I decided not to push it and did not work out - stupid cold won't go away! *shrugs* It will eventually. DD17 came flying in the house last night after cheer practice. Her car had been FILLED with balloons by a guy who likes her and she likes. She's been dating the same guy for two years and they decided to take a break from each other, which I think is good - you can't know what's out there if you date only one guy seriously. But, this guy filled her car with balloons, then had her meet him in a local park where he had a big sign asking her to the Winter Formal and flowers, etc. I wonder if he could teach DH a few things. :+ How sweet! DD17 is walking on air now. I don't think I've ever seen her this excited about anything. It's so cute. She drove to school today with the balloons still in the car.

I did Cardio Fusion this morning for the first time and boy was that a fun workout! I thought that my legs might be a little squeaky after B&G yesterday, but like Wendy, no DOMS from B&G!!! Of course, now I'm dreading Judy's suggestion that they might still be in the future}(

Christine-Sorry you're still not feeling tops, but I loved the sweet story about your DD. DH and I were highschool sweethearts and that one really put a smile on my face and brought back some warm memories ;)

Time for some personals – my meeting was postponed until 10AM, so I’m sitting around doing nothing again. DH is cooking dinner tonight because he’s really worried about me. He made such a dramatic turn around - it’s cute. We’re getting the house re-piped today (we have old rusted pipes and we need to get this done), so he’s at home.

Cathy – GREAT job on the run and GS C&T! Wow! Glad I can keep you amused. :+

Sunny – I would take off today and tomorrow so that you’re as fresh as can be. Then go for it. I’m looking forward to hearing your results!

Wendy – I’m the same way – I’ll get through one or two weeks of a rotation, and stop. The only one I managed to stick with was P90X. I’m going to play around with the new workouts for a bit, then go to a split rotation for a month. We’ll see. No DOMS – eh? Wow – you’re doing well!! I’m impressed!

Judy – have fun with BM2 – I really love that one. What a workout yesterday!

Jess – miss-matched day? How cute! I’ll bet it’s a blast dressing them up for that! You’re being so good!

Carole – I’m with you on the donuts! *shudders* I ordered Vegan Planet and I’m looking forward to it’s arrival. ! I love trying new recipes and new ideas. I can’t wait to try some from Vegan Planet. When I was in Napa last, I bought a cook book called “Curry Cuisine” that has recipes that I’m dying to try – a lot of vegetarian which could be vegan as soon as I learn some dairy mods. If I find one that’s good, I’ll post it. There’s photos – I get hungry every time I look through the book. I’m glad Emmit won, too! Go Emmit!

Laurie – yeah, I am not a fan of the step in LIC, although when I did CF yesterday I was able to modify the low impact for high impact in a lot of the moves – that’s only the third segment though. I’ll do the workout again to see if I can do that with others.

Linda – thanks! I do appreciate it. I have seen studies that link dairy products to thyroid issues, so I’m willing to cut them out as much as possible. I, too, hesitate to take the major step, just because of our life style. We eat out and with friends so much that it makes it tough to be even vegetarian. What I’m planning is to have animal products (meat or fish, dairy if I absolutely have to have it) no more than once a day – yesterday I had none. I figure that way I’ll still be eating many more fruits and vegetables. We’ll see how it goes. I pack a huge salad for lunch chocked full of different veggies and ½ a cup of chickpeas or another bean – and I have to admit that it keeps me full.

Mattea – I’m glad you got a warm fuzzy from the story of DD. I love that you and DH were high school sweethearts. Glad you aren’t suffering from major DOMs today! Cardio Fusion is fun, isn’t it? It's a rainy day here in California, too.

Very busy morning today. My oldest had a little school performance and my hubby and I attended. I am such a sap. I cry anytime she does any kind of performance. I am so proud of my children and what they can do their tender little ages. Sorry, I was having a mommy moment:)

I have very little time today. Sorry about the personals lately. I read everyone of them and appreciate you guys SO much!

I did Cardio Fusion yesterday and I loved it. My heartrate got so high that my heart rate monitor was blinking at me. I may have overdone it though, because my sciatica is bugging me today. My chiro says that my adjustment has been staying, so that is good.

I am off to do the cardio leg blaster from LIC. I really like that one and the upper body portion all at once.

I ate way to many muffins and bready stuff this morning at the school, bad bad bad!

I will catch up with all of you later.

Oooh Elaine!!! Where are you????? I just had to tell you that I love you!!!! ;-) My mailman just dropped me off a package w/ some awesome workout tapes from you!!!! Thank you soooo much!!! (she sent me Cathe's Cardio Kicks & Power Hour on VHS) and a Taebo cardio on VHS, and yoga, sports cardio, and abs workouts on DVD!! You ROCK!! You'll be getting a Christmas card from me, girlie!!

OK, now I'm thinking maybe I should try out Power Hour???? I'm like a kid at Christmas, I love new workouts to try!!!

OK, I'm back from my breakfast out & PT!! We ate at Cracker Barrel, yes I ate too much but it was soooo good!! IMAX 2 burns a lot of calories, right?? I actually just shared a meal w/ Allison & we still didn't finish all of the food!! They always give you WAY too much! It was cheap too, less than $10 for both of us to eat. Then we did some looking in the gift shop there & got the funniest t-shirt for my FIL. I love him, but he can be a bit of a grump sometimes. It's a shirt that says WARNING: Grumpy Old Man. I know he'll get a kick out of it, I'll add it to his Christmas present. And they had a camoflauge SuperMan t-shirt so I got that for Greg. (and they were both on clearance for only $4 a piece!)

Anyway, PT was good. Again, I saw a different person but they've all been nice. She was a nice lady & was impressed w/ how far I can stretch. She said that she'd never seen my *pretzel leg* stretch & said she was going to start doing it for her hip!!!! So I taught her something too, love that! :p Had more u/s done on my hip/ knee, I can really feel that. I will do my foam roller & more stretching later.

OK, I think I'm going to do Power Hour since Elaine was sweet enough to send it to me. I love trying out new workouts!!

Awww, Susan!! How sweet!! I love seeing my kids in performances too. You brag away & enjoy those Mommy moments!! I try to remember those moments when they're *not* acting like angels. }(

Now I wish I'd pre-ordered so I could try out Cardio Fusion!!! It sounds like a great workout!! Next time I'm definitely pre-ordering, better start saving my pennies now! ;-)

How did your cinnamon bread turn out?? I'm sure it was delicious!!

Girls...If it's any consolation to those of you who think I'm wonderwoman, which I'm not! I'm no Shelly! ;) I did Butts and Guts one time prior in 2 sessions. I did standing leg work one time and floor work another time. This could very well have something to do with how well I faired doing it as a whole!:)

Well, I am off to wash my kitchen floor for the 2nd time in 2 days cause I bought this stuff that is supposed to restore the shine and I'm dyin' to try it but I gotta make sure my floor is clean first! I'll be back to play while it's drying!}(

I am sooo psyched for my run today! I wish I could now now now! WAAAAHHHH! :p
