::: CHEETAHS ::: Thurs., 11/16

Hiya cheetachicks! Checking in a bit late today:eek: Wow, a lot of chatter yesterday afternoon about the PF Chang 1/2 marathon this Jan!
Hopefully some other cheetahs can join me and Thomasina, the meatless Inca mule! I was up early today to get in a workout (drill max mixed cardio blast) and then went to a meeting at my hospital.
Afterwards I had my annual bloodwork drawn which I was fasting for so by then I was so hungry I was ready to eat the desk I was sitting on!! Well, I've refueled now and feeling better... I'll go for some cycling later :)

Wendy- Thank God you are "no Shelly" You actually have some sense!!!
Hope you get in a good run at the Gym tonight! I love the B&G workout but I find I really need to increase the weights to get any DOMS

Christine- Its easy to understand why you're feeling overwhelmed lately with all your Dr appts and tests!!!! I hope we can help relieve some of your tension. You're going to give up cheese???
Wow, would I ever be in trouble if I had to do that! I'm a certified cheesaholic for sure. I loved the story about your DD.
All I can say is if she warranted that much attention then she must take after you!

Cathy- 6 mile run AND GS CT AFTER working all day????? You are truly amazing! Hope you're taking it easier today! (I'm a fine one to talk about taking it easy!)

SunnyD- You were right on about having a smile on my face during my run yesterday. I'm still slower than I was but I dont really care
as long as I can run comfortably! Hey, best of luck to you for your FIRST RACE!!!!!! We'll look forward to your report. First races are so special! Resting the day before is a good idea. The only thing I have to add is not to eat anything new or unusual the night before. You don't want to be dealing with any stomach issues

Judy- Whoa.... you deserve a good yoga day after all that intense cardio!

Jess- A "mismatch" day.....how cute!!! Sounds like your DDs had a fun time with it. So next week is the momentous first trial run eh?
I'll bet you'll be "running on cloud nine" ! That's great news that this wont be a recurring problem for you once it clears!!!

Carole- which DM premix did you do? There's some good ones with this workout! The ultracardio blast really did me in:eek: BTW,
the marathon relay you're doing sounds intriguing! Are you doing 1/3 of the distance... 8.7 miles or so? Is your sister doing it too?

Laurie- I'm not a huge fan of the LIC blasts either. Probably the only part of the new workouts I dont care for that much.

Linda- I understand your dilemma about running with these new workouts. They are so good I want to do them all the time and it's hard to tear myself away to get in my runs!

Mattea- Wow, I sure wish your friend can convince you to come to Phoenix for the rNr!!!! Even though it's unlikely I still can hope and cross fingers!!! Isn't cardiofusion a great buttkicker workout?

Susan- Don't worry about those muffins!!!!! With your activity level they will do no harm. Hope your sciatica has backed down again!

Jess (again)-- I forgot to add.... I think you'll really like Power Hour. How nice of Elaine!!!! (Elaine you definitely do ROCK)
Let me know what you think of the ENDLESS LUNGES }( }( }( }(

Okay, enough chitchat.....tata cheetahs. A big HI to anyone I missed!

Shelly - you're too sweet! Thanks! I'm doing okay. My boss is wonderful and told me to just do what I need to do as they want me healthy once I get fully trained (and it's lack of staff, not my dr's appt's that's causing the delay).

Wendy - oh yeah, you are Wonder Woman! You just hide that cape really well... :+ Okay, you're a WONDERFUL woman - how's that?

Susan - you'll be fine - but I do know what you mean about over eating! I hate that feeling!

I just posted an article on the main boards - I won't post the thing here (it's LONG), but I will post the link: http://www.discover.com/issues/may-06/features/tramps-like-us/ Looks like us humans are not only designed to run, but we're designed to run long distances. In fact, over time, we should be able to out run any other animal - including our name sake! So all you distance runners? You're not crazy or insane - you're simply doing what you were designed to do. Pretty cool! Makes me want to run distance again...

Well. I'm still alive. I did Body Max 2 today. Oh my. I had visions of RIP on my tombstone.

The past two weeks have been 3m run/ Drill Max, 3m run; rest/ LIC, BM2 2x upper body, rest, 3m 14 min. core/ Butts and Gutts/ 3m Int. run and 20 min stretch/ off/ and BM2 today.

The show ends this Sunday and I hope to get back on a rotation.

My running is shot and I'm dying on the Cathe DVD's.

Bye for now.

Colleen :: good to hear from you. Glad to hear the show's had a good run (sorry for the pun) and you've managed to keep pluggin' in the workouts.

Shelly :: thanks...I really think my workouts pale in comparison to all that the cheetahs do...but I did up my weights and DOMS is setting into the tri's. I like the pain...

I just finished B&G...and have a new theme song: "Legs Like Jello" (sung to Echo & the Bunnymen's "Lips Like Sugar"). I'll be hobbling off to the showers now and then it's veggin' out time. Of course, I'm feelin' hungry again, too...

ttyl-
cathy :)

Shelly ~ I bet you were hungry from fasting!! I hate not being able to eat in the morning, I HAVE to eat breakfast or else!! I don't know how you worked out & still didn't have anything to eat, I couldn't do it!! Crabbiness, headache, etc. Hope all the bloodwork came back normal!

Yes, I was glad to hear that it shouldn't be a recurring problem & hopefully I'm getting closer to healed! I can't wait til I can run pain-free!!!!

I loved Power Hour, it was a nice change of pace!! Oh man, those lunges seemed like they would go on forever!! I *really* focused on squeezing the glutes, I'm sure I'll have some DOMS tomorrow! I had thought about B & G tomorrow, we'll see how I feel when I wake up! ;-) And yes, Elaine really does ROCK!

Have a great night!

Good job on B & G today, Cathy!! Legs like Jello... too funny! And WTG on upping the weights, I love the DOMS in the tri's! Have a good night & have fun vegging out! That's what we're doing too! ;-)

Great workouts, Colleen! Good to see you pop in. WTG on surviving BM2! I did it for the first time on Monday- great workout!

Good Evening Ladies! I'm finally sitting down for some personals. Sometimes I don't know where the day goes!?

Jess: It's just about time for Survivor! ENOY it! You deserve the down time! You are one busy cheetah! Mismatch day at school sounds like fun. I'm sure the kids get a kick out of one another's outfits as well as thier own. I wonder what the teachers look like! :7
BTW, Cathe intends to put Cardio Fusion up for sale at some point so you haven't lost your chance! Definately pre-order next time though. It's soooo worth it!!!

Carole: I'm dyin' to know which DM premix you chose cause even the shortest cardio one was EVIL!}( }( }(

Laurie: Glad you enjoyed Slim and Lean. When are you going to buy her new one? }(

Linda: You will LOVE Ripped 1000! The cardio blasts are super intense! It's definately an advanced work out! I have been using Jari's work out alot the past few months and coupled with running and I have slimmed down quite a bit! I lost a few pounds when I first began running but none since then. That's okay though cause we know the scale is just EVIL! LOL }( ENJOY!

Christine: Oh my gosh, what a great story about DD17 and her new "friend"! That's soooo cool! No guy has ever done anything THAT awesome for me! I'm jealous! :p
So when I start doing P90X I am going to need you to encourage me not to quit the rotation! 90 days of following a pre-set rotation might just friggin' KILL me! LOL I know it will be TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH for me to be able to stick with it so I'll need the help!:) What did you do about that unavoidable thing called life when it got in the way??? :p
Wonder woman ey? LOL You are wonderful too!:)
Hope you feel better soon!!!!

Mattea: I attempted Cardio Fusion last week and quit on it. Apparently I need to learn the choreo from the original vids a little
better before I can expect to do CF. I was LOST I tell you! LOL :p

Susan: I am sure that I will crying right there with you once my little guy gets in school and starts participating in things like that! Hope your sciatica clears up quickly.

Cathy: Thanks for the response about GS and running. I'm definately gonna try that in December! It'll gear me up for P90X! I've been so engrossed in endurance training with Jari, etc that I need to do a little pre-training in strength so that I don't feel like a total loser when I start P90X next year!:p

Shelly: LOL about having sense! I am actually striving to be just like you girl!}( As far as B&G goes, I used 5# where Cathe did but only used 2 10# DB's where Cathe used a 35 pound BB. I don't like lifting heavy for legs...mine bulk up and I hate that. :-( So anyway, the lighter weight where she does BB work could very well be the reason I am not DOMS'ing.

Colleen: You've been doing some great work outs girl!

Okay, I'm done writing my book!LOL

I ran 4 miles on the TM today. I started it off with a 20 min Itrain work out that is all hills and sprints and then completed the 4 miles at a 10:30 pace which has become my new comfortable pace. YEAY ME!}( When I first started out that pace (outdoors) was 12 and about 11:30 on the TM!!! YIKES! LOL

I am in dire need of a shower now...hope I didn't stink up the place!:p
