Cathlete
Good mornin', cheetahs :)

I do feel rested & better and plan to go back to work today. It's supposed to be a snowy mess this afternoon (and still COOOOOLD!), so I think it'll be either KM or KPC w/ the new gloves.

To catch up with the posts from last night...

Christine :: I know what you mean about the interruptions at work. It seems like folks have radar for dropping in on you at your busiest moments! :) Good workout!! Now that I am getting on the TM more, I may have to download one of those workouts to try. But not that one! *lol*

Laura :: You made me chuckle about not wanting your DH to read your posts. Does he like to read over your shoulder? I think I mentioned this to you the other day that I agree w/ you - more running seems to be best for slimming me down. However, I've avoided going up to 5 runs per week (which is what I used to do) in order to be gentle to the calves & tendons. But anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting warmer temps, too!

Colleen :: It is hard to resist temptation when it's sitting right in front of you. Is MIL overweight?

OK, everyone, have a great Thursday! Will catch up with you all later. And if you're in the Northeast, enjoy the snow today!

Cathy :)

Good Morning Cheetahs.

Cathy, I'll get that check out in the mail to you today!:) Bite your tongue about the snow girl! I certainly will NOT enjoy it, ma'am!:p LOL Have fun with your work out today. :)

I enjoyed Shoulders and Arms and ARX y'day but today will be a welcome change from all of the weight work. I am taking a spin class this morning and then I have YogaX on tap for this afternoon.

I "cheated" and took a BF measurement this morning just to get an idea of where I am at after 3 1/2 weeks of X'ing. I can't divulge the results but let's just say I was very pleased!:) I do not, however, OFFICIALLY take and record my measurements and take pics until the end of next week so I hope I don't mess it up all up between now and then!:7

I'm going to see about catching up on personals from last night since I wasn't around. I will come back and post again in a few.:)

G'morning Miss Cathy and all you Cheetahs to come! Well as per usual yesterday's PUB gave me a good dose of DOMS, I'm impressing myself, I find lat pull overs pretty easy so yesterday I upped my weights for that exercise to 20, 25, 30#, the last few reps of 30 felt really tough but my back felt strong. Today it feels very strong }( Thanks everyone for yesterday's much appreciated support and positivity, for the most part I was good yesterday, my little triumph was no evening snacking!! I may just pop in LowMax today or that 10-10-10 I was thinking of yesterday with PowerCircuits added on. So much Cathe, so little time......:)

Cathy, enjoy you kickbox workout with your gloves. It's so much fun to get something new like those to freshen up some older workouts. Glad that you are feeling a bit more rested and ready for your day.

I'd better get movin'

Take Care
Laurie

ETA, Hey Wendy, that's awesome that you're seeing results already!! Have fun spinning.:)

Hi Cheetahs,
The day is off to a not great start. I didn’t do the Floorwork & abs yestesrday, so I did them this morning, but when I started the planned Tempo run, I just felt ill – could barely eek out 2 miles. So either I had a nutritional failure – not enough food in the late hours of the day yesterday (which was busy driving kids all over the place)

or I am a sick Cheetah. My leg muscles/core feel ok after FW and abs – but I feel bad….

Cathy—glad you are feeling better and excited to try those weighted gloves. Thanks again for supporting my DH’s ride. He was really thrilled. :) My DS13 made a donation, too.

Wendy—great news about the measurements. Have fun with spinning today. I just saw an infomercial about a spinning system for home.

Laurie--good job on PUB and upping weights. Hope you have a great day.

Judy--I ordered some trail shoes but couldn't get on the Cardio Coach website to read more about the workouts. Thanks for the info. though. Good job on your snowy canal run!

I’m not caught up on posts from yesterday. Hope to be back later for more personals.

-Barb:) :) :)

Personals...:)

Sunny: I was giggling to myself over your post from y'day. Pretty much everything you had written to the Cheetahs was "screaming" your excitement about your new careers! I am sooo happy for you! ENJOY!!!!:+

Laurie: I have tried to use my rebounder to soften the blow of some of Cathe's high impact moves but unfortunatley I do not have high ceilings and there is a ceiling fan in the room. The room is small so I have no room to get away from it so if I jump too high I'm in the fan! OUCH! LOL I can rebound or jog on it fine as you stay low but I can't do anything else really. Oh well...

Kristi: A 35 pound weight loss? That's awsome, chic! 15 should be a breeze for you!:) When I firs started zig-zagging I was amazed at how the weight came off. I remember on my high calorie days often having to FORCE myself to eat cause I just wasn't hungry and I STILL lost weight. I was amazed! LOL Fitday is a great tool to keep track of your fcp's. It was a pain at times but if you really want to lose the weight it's worth taking the time to do it. Don't you agree?

Jess: I see that someone already briefly explaining zig-zagging to you. The only thing I want to add is that for the best results, you should also keep track of your fat, carb and protein intake. Decide which percentages your body best reacts to and strive to reach that every day. If I remember correctly I was 20% fat/ 50% carb/ 30% protein girl when I did it. It really works! As far as the challenge goes, I am already doing my own little challenge for myself with the X. I am striving for body fat loss and muscle definition. I could use the challenge to keep my eating on track though!:)

Christine: I've toyed with the idea of purchasing one of the Tri work outs from Itrain but doing it at the gym seems like it could be annoying. What if the type of machine you need isn't available? I mean, when I go I can almost ALWAYS find what I want but with my luck, I wouldn't be able to and then what? ACK! LOL Glad you enjoyed it though!:)

Laura: I love Jari's work outs. They are tough. I hope you like them. Which one did you get besides RttC?

Colleen: I cook most meals for my family using lower fat/healthier alternatives. Well as much as I can get away with w/my DH!LOL There are things in the meal I won't eat and will just replace them with something easy for myself. Sometimes I make myself a quick healthy meal and don't eat what they are eating at all. I never cook myself a REAL meal as then it would cooking 2 full dinners and that's nuts. I am a simple girl anyway...I don't need the big meal. LOL

Well, I think I've caught up so I'll be on my way now!

BBS!:)

Doin' the HAPPY DANCE........:7 .................:7 .......lost 4 POUNDS last night at weigh-in............Oh yeah..........:7 :7

I'm so SUPER motivated I can't stand it. I was so pleased with my weigh-in last night. I was really nervous, but my hard work did pay off. I'm on a great start and only Hmmmm......only 50 more to go...., but I'm setting small goals so that doesn't seem to 'out there' and I lose focus.

Anyway, I need to get ready for work, but wanted to share my good news, I'll be back for personals later.

On tap for today, is step class tonight, I'll have to get something good ready for them. }( }(

Marcia.

morning,

cathy-yes he will read what I am typing. He says I am goofy for talking about some of the stuff I type. I told him we all tell each other about things happening in our lives.

I have some DOMS from yesterday mornings bootcamp class. Its a good sore! In all the right spots. I am really hoping since I am teaching and now focusing on my problem area in class that I will tone them up and shrink them. I took the class before but they really didnt focus on any particular areas. I mean they did squats ,lunges etc... but I do extra stuff like hip ext exercises, hip abd/add ,hamstring curls and bridges with the ball, hamstring curls with the tubing etc.... I am feeling like that poochy area at the side of the butt has gotten tighter but I still have a loooong way to go. that is my main problem area thanks to my mom's side of the family.

we have a school delay this morning because of the snow.

talk to you later!

YAAY Marcia, I'll HAPPY DANCE with you~! Oh yeah......:7 :7

Congrats on a job well done!!:D

Oh and in case you're wondering where those 4 lbs went, I found them!!!!:+ (they ain't staying long though, I'm motivated too!:))

Take Care
Laurie

wendy- only run 3x week when I do up the days. Right now however I am lucky if I get 2 days in,usually its just one. So upping them to 3x makes a difference for me. Plus the mileage, I will do two shorter runs then try to do a longer one on the weekend. I love my early morning runs in the summer time. Its so peaceful and beautiful outside and the birds are chirping. I cant wait!

Hi Cheetah's. Didn't have to much computer time yesterday with dd birthday. I did squeeze in PLB and yoga. My claves are kicking today. I'm off to do a 5 mile tempo run before things get to wound up around here. My calves are killing me from PLB, *( I think I said that) I hope the run loosens them up.

Hello Cheetahs! Today is a short 3 mile run. Yesterday I did the Total Body Premix of LIC instead of PUB/LB. Still a good workout, especially those balancing squats. OUCH!! However, I think I need to shelf that one for a little while and do one of the other total body workouts, of course with the balancing squats thrown in.

An eating check-in sounds great to me. I'm going full speed ahead with my eating. By my HM I would like to have lost 15-20 pounds. I must have some sort of OCD because I plan my dinner menu a month at a time. This helps keep me organized since I know what to make every day for the family and we very rarely eat out. Also I only make 1 meal for everyone so that helps keep me on track. I make sure the night before I plan my calories around eating a small portion of dinner so I don't feel deprived from not eating "forbidden food". I only eat lean meats, low fat cheese, fruits, veggies, and whole wheat breads and pastas, but I occassionally eat some processed stuff, I have kids that are pretty picky.

Anyway, here is the link describing the zigzag method I was trying to explain to someone a while back. http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?...19480&mesg_id=19480&listing_type=search#19483

Well, I need to start working. I'll try to check back later.

Hiya Cheetah Babes -

And it does sound like there are a bunch of babes here! Marcia with her 4 pounds lost and Wendy with being pleased in her BF results!! WAY TO GO!!! And Cathy is feeling better - so we all seem to be headed in the right direction!

I'm actually online working! At 4:30AM (well I started then, now it's 5:15AM). But I got out the quote I had to do - so that's good. No time to really chat because I have get moving in my workout, but I wanted to pop in and say hi all!!! I have YogaX on tap today. Not sure how much I'll do of it, but I'll do that one. As I'm probably going to be working out Saturday AND Sunday this week as there is no Football, I'm just going to do Yoga today. So it will be my rest day. And Carole - as much as I complained about Ab Ripper X and feeling it in my hip flexors and not my abs - my abs are a bit sore today. So, go I think I'll just shut up now. :+

Waves hello to everyone else! I WILL be back - I HOPE!!

G'morning Cheetahs!! Busy day again, I've decided I just do better when I'm busy! ;-) Hannah's room is pretty much back in order, just have a few more things to get reorganized in there & get things put back in place! :) She is thrilled w/ it & was so excited to sleep in her *new* room. I think we'll get the border put up next week & then it'll be ALL done.

I haven't decided what to do yet today. I felt good this morning after yoga & I stretched extra again last night. I know I need to do it, and I enjoy it when I do it, so my new goal is yoga 2x a week.

I'm still feeling kinda crummy w/ my sinuses though. It's been what, a month now??? OK, I'm thinking I should call the Dr. He's a hottie anyway. ;-) And I know he'll be excited that I signed up for the triathalon, we had talked about it when I was in there last.

Allison & I have to run to the store this morning. My Dad is coming later this afternoon & staying for dinner. He's on a low-fat, low-sodium diet (he had a quintuple bypass a few yrs ago) so I always make sure I make something that he will eat. He can't stick to it all of the time though, he pigs out on ice cream, donuts, & sweets. Yeah, that's good for you!!!! *rolls eyes*

As for making meals for family, I stick to healthier foods & then just make something a little different if I want. Like last night I made burritos. So instead of eating a tortilla, I made a taco salad out of mine. And I'll eat baked sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes, etc. My family has gotten used to brown rice & whole wheat pasta. I do NOT make 2 meals, and my kids must eat a bit of what I fix no matter what it is. Then if they don't like they can have a PB sandwich or fruit or something else healthy. We started doing something fun & counting our fruits & veggies. They love it because they'll say, Mommy, I need another fruit to count! And sometimes they'll take extra veggies at dinner to make sure they're getting enough *healthy stuff*. It makes it more fun & it helps me too!

So.... it looks like some of us are up for an eating challenge!! Any goal dates that we want to set? Just let me know what you all want to do! Just that extra accountability is always a good thing!

Good Morning. It's 8am in Minneapolis and you gals are already up and running. You all amaze me.
I'm so interested in the zig zag eating plan.
I'll read the posts and check in later. Colleen

Good morning ladies,

quick check- in because i have to leave in a few mins. to go to the gym.

never got to do legs yesterday so i am doing butts and gutts today. one of the timesaver options and then the elliptical at the gym once i am finished training.

wendy- wooohooo!! you recieved your materials i am so excited for you!

cathy- let me know what you think about your gloves.

christine- not sure if you saw my post to you yesterday- i was wondering how you like the itrain bootcamp workout?

i will check back in later for more personals.

BBL:)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..LOVE the shirt!! So you like the new kickboxing gloves?...:)..I think if I watched Seinfeld while on a TM, at some point Kramer would get me laughing so hard I'd probably fall off!! I'd turn off the HR beeping...that drives me nuts. Enjoy KPC or KM with the new gloves!

Christine...lots of people seem to feel ARX in their hip flexors. I do enjoy Cathe's abs better myself but once in awhile doing ARX is good...I have done that iTread on my Elliptical, it was tough! Your post today is cracking me up....glad you are feeling ARX in some other areas...:)...I will be lost sunday without FB....geeze, I might have to clean...:)

Wendy...I ended up doing PH upper instead of BM1...I am looking to loose about 10 more lbs. I have lost 2 and it was sure tough...Good job on your BF results with P90X! have fun with the spin class and Yoga.

Barb...I am sorry about the crashing in 2 miles. Could it be remnants of the nasty flu? You are so good about nutrition and finding out what works. Could have alos just been a bad day for a run...

Marcia...congrats on the 4 lb weight loss!!!...:)

Karen..hope your calves feel better as the day goes on.

Sunny...more time to post too!! ...:)

Laurie...I haven't had to loose much in a few years either, this just crept on, but it has felt nice to see the scale go down...at least a little...:)..I know my pants already fit better so I shouldn't be such a slave to the scale, but once a week I will do! Good job with KM...those blasts are hard! WOW...your lat pullover weight is great!! I usually go a bit heavier than Cathe for those too.

Shelly...I decided on PH upper instead of BM1! I am doing BM1 upper friday. And today I will use my silver band in B&G...I'll let you know if I survivie. Sorry you'll miss the SB...not sure yet if we will be watching it at home or somewhere else. Hope you had a nice long workout yesterday.

Kristi...congrats on registering for the HM!!! Those balancing squats in LIC can really test you...

Judy..I have used trail shoes a few times when I have run in the snow. I'd prefer trail shoes on trails myself, I think there is a difference. We are having usually cold weather for a long time! 28 again today.

Colleen..I agree that running is one of the best weight loss methods. I just find weight harder to loose as I age....good job with DM. Hope your run went well yesterday.

Laura...that is great you found that yogurt has helped with your digestive problems. Mine are much better when I eat good. Stress is usually what cause some problems there for me...

Jess...I am already eating clean but I am up for a weight loss challenge...mine is just coming off slow!

Today will be B&G and using the silver band (YIKES) for the Firewalkers. Then I'll use one of the Ellipticals 45 min workouts...it'll be a killer I know.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning cheetahs,
I am up and ready for my pt appointment today. I have actually been a little sore in my back the last couple of days. I think it is due to the torture that Jason inflicted on my at my pt session(LOL)! I did the elliptical yesterday for 45 minutes and pub biceps, OUCH!!

Today, I am going to do Butts and Gutts premix of some sorts. I am only doing 3 days of cardio this week to give my back a little break. I am still amazed how this back thing still can flare up. I really hope that I can eventually do all the jumping around that I so enjoy. Or, maybe I need to just be a little kinder to my joints. Oh well, I will just keep doing what I am doing and be thankful for it:)

My cold is almost gone and Mariah is doing so much better. I will be working in her classroom and Allyson's class today. Very busy day.

I should get my elliptical either Friday or Monday. I am hoping it is Friday}(

Cathy, I am so glad you are feeling better. LEt us know how the gloves feel for your kickbox workout.

Wendy, how exciting you received your material for personal training. Do you when you are taking the exam. When I took mine they said to allow at least 4-6 months to study for it. Sounds like you are transforming your body into a lean fat burning machine. How is your eating most of the time?

Laurie, Great job getting back on track with the eating. It is SOOOOO hard. I have found that ever since I have stopped eating after dinner, which is usually around 6:30, I can keep the weight off. It used to be hard not to eat have a snack at night, but now I drink hazelnut tea and it does the trick. Have a great workout!

Barb, I hope you feel better. I hate when I start a run and the energy is not there and you know you will not be able to do it.I have had that happen and then shove a protein bar in my mouth while running and that has done the trick. But, you may have a touch of the cold or something. Get some rest and feel better:)

Marcia, GREAT JOB!!!! on losing the 4 lbs. Isn't amazing how that can just make your day losing a few lbs. Keep up the good work!

Laura, my hubby has actually gotten jealous about me telling the cheetahs things that he did not even know. But, he thinks that this forum is great and keeps me honest. Great new about the DOMS}(

Karen, I don't believe I have ever done PLB. I have it, but never tried it. I am so very impressed with all the yoga that you do along with your other workouts. I was the yoga queen until I hurt my back. I can't wait to get back into it. Hope those calves loosen up.

Kristi, I really love the balancing squats In LIC. It is funny that I can go some much lower on one side than the other. Have a great 3 mile run. I will have to check out the zig zag method. I am not great at following stuff like that though:)

Christine, How do you like YogaX ? I have it, but never pulled it out. You are an early bird this morning. Have a great day and enjoy that DOMS in your abs}(

Jess, when do we get to see the room:) I am so impressed with your eating, especially having kids. I wish my family would eat a little healthier. I try brown rice and salad and a few of the kids will eat it , but there is always one that refuses. I will have to try it again and see what happens. You have me motivated now. And yes, I too should probably go with the eating challenge. When do we start?

Colleen, good morning:)

sunnydelite, I will be doing butts and gutts with ya. Bring on the DOMS!!!!

Carole, Butts and Gutts AND the elliptical and this is a recovery week? You are such a crazy cheetah!!!! Actually, you are truly an inspiration friend:)

Hello to all that follow and have a great day ladies!

Cheers!

Susan

Laurie- Don'tcha just love those post weight WO DOMS? Nice going on upping the weight on the lat pull downs. #) is my upper limit too and I did 30# for them today with GS back

Cathy- TG you are feeling better after a good rest at home day. Your 'rest at home WO' seemed like a nice choice too.

Barb- I hope you are not getting ill; please let us know. Perhaps it was calorie deficit. Barb, if you are not ill, try to go to CC web site and look at the Choose Living/CC challenge for Saturday 1/27. I am doing it on my elliptical.

Marcia- Hi five on the4 pound loss!!! ^^^^

Kristi- I really like the way those balancing squats work too!

HI Christine!!!

Jes- You are providing your DDs with great examples in nutritional habits!

Carole- definitely a killer WO. Will you run tomorrow then? I would be very sore. My eli' even makes me sore because I usethe highest incline setting for most of the WO to vary my intervals I change the resistance.

Susan- Hi:) I hope your back is liking the rest!

Today- Gym Style BBS and LIC ABs and stretch only

Judy "Likes2bfit"

Hey Cheetahs--
Well I think I'm having a combination of problems -- I definitely didn't eat enough yesterday to fuel a tempo run this early a.m., but I have a touch of some bug and don't feel quite right. A little fever, sore throat, etc.

I ended up doing an BM2 UB which I felt fine with and ran a little more, which was fine. So my Friday easier day workout was today and I'll play it by ear for tomorrow.

Marcia--congrats on a happy weight-in at WW.

Carole--thanks for the support. I am good about nutrition, but the timing of eating yesterday was off. I seem to really need to fuel up the night before a long run or a speed day, and didn't do my usual routine. How did it go with the Silver bands? Hope the elliptical was fun, too.

Judy--Good luck with GS BBS & LIC abs. It's nice to do weights after a hard run like you did yesterday. I will check out the CC website. It didn't load on my computer, but I will try it on my husband's. I ordered an Asics shoe I read about that is supposed to be good on snow & ice, so it's not quite a trail shoe. I'll let you know what I think.

Susan --Well the eating and then trying to run again did work somewhat, but it wasn't the magic bullet.
Glad Mariah is feeling better, but I'm sorry your back is acting up again. This is frustrating that it creeps up on you. I think B&G is a great choice. I wonder if the floorwork on B&G will make it feel better?

Ok--off to work now. Wishing everyone a great day. more personals tomorrow.
-Barb:)
