hi
Yessuh, almost Friday! Like I’ve really worked hard this week anyway…lol
Howdy Friends!
Feeling like a quick few miles on my dreadmill before I head to work, but for some reason the treadmill is so unappealing today…hmm…would rather be outside…
Quick note to Chi-town Cheetahs that supported Beryl: She said to tell you all thanks so much for the nice words and support and that she thinks ya’ll are sweet and it was great to meet you.
Christine – Sooo, did we find a HR monitor? LOL…Sorry your chicken was so-so. I agree that most books are better than the movie versions…like for example, The House of Sand and Fog was mucho better in book form that the movie, IMO…Glad you will return as head cheerleader in 09”..lol.. By the way, you’re crazy on committing to the Tour de Stupid!
Someday, I’ll have to get my bike out and get in some miles so I can come down and ride wit ya …wait, you’d kick my butt probably and leave me behind …what is the term for slogging on a bike? hmmm… Hey! the Napa Marathon doesn't have a half or 10K BUT it does have a 5K.
Jackie – Thanks re: the pic of my dog – she’s the bestesteestsess. I read that Chicago does always fall on the second weekend of October which is Columbus Day. Say, that strength training DVD sounds pretty divine.. You really do have a huge collection, huh? lol..
Linda – Sending hugs and prayers for you DD! re: yesterday’s post – thanks, I’m feeling fine. No problems here which is why I’m really considering running Napa instead of cheerleading…lol....
Dallas – woah Nellie, yah, glad you didn’t tell me and Cath about your friends that dropped out due to conditions..dang. Hope your family drama is under control. You’re a real busy bee mom and it’s amazing and admirable that you can squeeze in your workouts! Yeah, what Carole said about 2 marathons a year. I'm not injured (knocks on wood) and I did 5 half marathons and 1 full marathon last year plus the time in betweeen Napa and Chicago is doable. I ran my second marathon only 9 months after the first and got a better time too! lol - Proper training and staying injury-free are the keys..
Cathy – Yeah, easy to be sucked in on the RW boards! Beryl is doing well and said her hip is fine, so that’s good news. However, after being so negative about running and claiming this was it for her before the marathon, she now is telling me she’ll be doing gym work for now BUT is interested in maybe running a couple of half marathons next year…whatever! Let me know if you need help digging for them airline ticks to Napa!
Gloria – Have a great time at the conference! A childhood friend of mine was living in Sault St. Marie for a bit when her family was moved around (military). She said it was beautiful there but the winter was another story! LOL. Nice of you to help out your neighbor and way to go planning around the busy schedule to get in the workouts…
Karen – you sound like a busy mom lately! Glad to hear the calf is mending. Probably wise to skip any heavy leg stuff with lunges or squats until you’ve worked out that calf. Funny costumes last year!
Wendi – Congratulations on the horse show – wow about the rider..wth? Glad you are healing the infection and hey, you know that a first run after a longish break is the hardest. I’m sure your fitness level is going to bounce your runs back to par in no time. Besides, your body is probably still healing from the infection and exhaustion too. Um, yah, I askeered to run in the dark..lol
Wendy lou – Hey, 2.26 is not pathetic - any run is better than nothing! You’re wise to take it easy though until your knees are feeling up to par. Maybe a few slower/slog runs are just what you need for now until all knee pain is gone?!?! I dunno, just a suggestion to help. Besides, I’m the queen of SLOG so I should know! jk..lol. I agree with Carole a solid 18 week plan is good for a successful marathon. That’s cool you and Gloria may be “training” together.
Judy – Yay, you get to go to Chicago! Have a great time and oohhh, Dh’s bday as well! NICE! I say bring the Cakebread to Chicago! lol. You’re doing great building your miles and I totally admire your dedication to yoga…I need to seriously work more yoga back into my plan!
Shelly – WOW, you have some hard core workouts! So envious of your PA country hills! I am amazed you ran in a little rain though…lol.. So, do you think you’ll try running in the snow this winter? Thanks re: avatar. Glad to see you are considering Napa and Chi-town – way cool! Hope the house sells!
Carole – Whenever you have the schedule is fine, no worries. I was just so stoked and pumped up still that my excitement got the best of me. I just figured if you had a schedule ready, I could peruse it over the next month to build my motivation etc and plan, plan, plan. I always do better with a solid plan. Uh, yeah, yesiree, yah-huh, you’re going to chi town 09 – even if you’re only running the last half again..lol. We can have a car wash fundraiser to pay your way if needed…and we’ll even invite Happy Sunday to help get extra coins
LOL….just messin’ wit ya…you’re the best! Dude, did you see the awesome duffel bag you get if you sign up for Napa? Dang, they really entice ya, huh? Oh, and if I may chime in - I agree with Christine on the dog running issue – no more than a mile before a year and then slowly build – like a human. She’s got a good point too about the trails and being softer.
LaDonna – Nice to “see” you pop in again.
Ok, outta time now gotta bounce …have a great day ya’ll!
