Happy Friday, cheetahs :)

Last night, I fought myself to do Core Syn – not because I don’t like that w/out – I was just feeling kinda beat. Would you believe that about 30 minutes into it I started to get blurred vision? Yep, a migraine came on. I tried to work through it for a bit but had to stop & call it a night. Grrr! Today after school will be some yoga with Rodney. Fingers crossed there are no snafus this time.

Marcia :: sounds like giving up one class will work better for you at this point in your life. Yeah, I guess I have been a little tired this week – sounds odd since I had an extra day off on Monday and am just coming off a long break, but I guess the combo of hectic days at school and slightly whacked sleeping patterns have thrown me off.

Judy :: interesting approach on the legs ~ I may try that. But I do still have a month on the X. How’s the new glass top?

Gayle :: have fun w/ the walking competition. Sounds like DS is gonna give you a run for your money!

Christine :: yeah, I noticed the low # of posts the other day, too…hope you enjoyed lunch w/ your team…4 years of college in San Fran sounds like it would be an incredible experience…and it’s not too far from you, right?… A KPC/B&G premix does sound good…can you post what you wound up doing?…I think you are probably right that the video is getting too much coverage…unfortunately, I think it does give other unstable individuals the idea that they will be glorified…Bouncing Jimmy! I love it.

Carole :: I know the media saturates us with the info over and over again, but I am watching this with great interest for reasons that I guess are obvious. We’ve had some good conversations in my classes and have talked about how we all need to pay attention to one another and not brush it off when it looks like someone is hurting or could need help. The kids said they would try to befriend or at least be nice to those who seemed to keep to themselves. But I wonder the same thing about what makes these kids blow…And why do the parents not see that something's terribly wrong?...The manifesto and images are so creepy…I’m really glad to hear about John’s progress…having feeling in his quads sounds like a good sign.

Susan :: (((HUGS))) Oh, man…I’m sorry about Mary’s news, but I’m hoping that an aggressive treatment plus a positive attitude and her incredible support team will beat the mess out of this thing. Here you are, being a rock again for somebody else…I hope you have someone to lean on, too.

Jackie :: Sounds like you had another great workout…I peek at the Bosus whenever I’m at Target, but I noticed that thing never goes on sale. I better just keep looking for now. But it sounds like you get great w/outs with it.

Wendy :: spin followed by yoga sounds like a good plan…I see DH’s point about the guns…but still feel as you do that we ought to tighten up the process some more. I heard that it only took ½ hour for Cho to obtain the gun…maybe mental health records should be part of the background check…I completely agree w/ you on the parent responsibility when it comes to guns.

~Cathy :)

Good Morning Cheetah-Babes!

Cathy: Sorry about your migraine. Hope you enjoyed the first have of core syn anyway! }(

I have Shoulders and Back on tap for today. No cardio. Easy day!:p

I have a full schedule today. I have to work this morning and then I am taking Joey to MIL's this afternoon. From there I am headed straight to meet a close friend for a quick dinner and then we are off to a pocketbook/jewelery party this evening. }( Needless to say, I won't be around much once I leave for work...

Yoga felt great last night. I did the first 30 mins and then everything else except for the balance postures and yoga belly 7. It took about an hour.

Have a great day!:)

Mornin' ladies......

Cathy - I know the feeling. It seems like that at our school, too, if you have a day off during the week it goes really slow. I wonder why that is??? And, with the end of the year coming up very quickly the suspense builds each day for them because they get off during the summer. Do you get off for summer, too? I work all year in the office, but it's not so bad - very quiet.

Wendy - Have a great day, sounds like a fun one!

I had step class last night and ONE person showed up!   I was just leaving when she came running in the door, I was so excited because I wanted to workout, but feel kind of silly doing it with nobody else there. We had a good one and did some abs/planks afterwards, too.

Today I'm not sure. DS might have a friend stay over and the weather is suppose to be beautiful today 70's and sunny ;-) I thought maybe I'd take them hiking to tire them out ;-) ;-)

Otherwise, maybe a run??? We'll have to see.

Marcia.

Hey Marcia...Why all of the no-shows at class last night?? That's odd! You'll have to give 'em heck next week! :p ;)

:) TGIf :)

Cathy- I am sorry about yor tired feelings. Is there factor of your routine or diet that you can change up to see if it makes a difference? I feel that carbs make me tired after the initial blood sugar spike wears off.

Marcia- Thank fully that person showed up for class! It sounds like it was well worth it. A hike with Ds and a fried sounds fun :)

Wendy- You have quite a day planned. Enjoy! And we'll "see" you tomorrow

Today is a 5 mile tempo run, I am doing it on the TM to really monitor my tempo. I will do some legs before.

Judy "Likes2bfit"

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Well, the weather has been sooooo nice lately and I think they just preferred to do something outside and enjoy it. That last blast of winter really gave everyone the blues and so I actually wasn't surprised. BUT, they have been SOOOOO dedicated all year that I thought they would still make it.

Yeah, they have NOOOO idea what they did now, Monday's circuit will be a killer }( }( }( .

Marcia.

Hey everybody! Quick hit and run AGAIN for me today.

Cathy-I hope the migraine is long gone and that you get to visit with Rodney tonight!

Wendy-enjoy your busy day. Sounds fun! Enjoy your friend’s company!

Marcia-1 person? How often does that happen??? Could you just imagine yourself doing a step workout alone in a big room? LOL

Judy-enjoy the run. I have to say, that’s exactly why I like the TM so much…I can monitor my speed much more efficiently!

Well, DS did indeed kick my butt yesterday with the pedometer! LOL He had gym class and an after-school mini Relay For Life walk-a-thon. He almost DOUBLED my steps...he came in at 20,000+ while I had a mere 12,000! LOL Should have seen the smile on his face. He's got that evil grin on this morning, while he told me that in Music class, they're playing musical chairs today and that at recess, their Walking Club starts today! FUNNY! I cannot let him beat me 2 days in a row. SO.....I'll be cutting the grass today using the push mower! LOL

This morning's workout was PUB up premix with extra UB weights and some LB weights on my weight bench. Taking it easy on the legs, since it's TAPER TIME!

70 degree weather here, also, for the next 5 days or so. LOTS of outside yard work to get done this weekend. Tonight we've got tickets for a concert in honor of St. Jude's Children Hospital. I donate on a monthly basis to them, and this concert is only for those that do that. I'm really looking forward to it.

BBL sometime

Gayle

Good morning! I am finally able to check in! I was working on a big project at work that took every minute, as well as my computer:-( Then at home it was busy, busy too.

Cathy - I hope you feel better! Migraines make ya feel sooo out of it! Enjoy your yoga!

Wendy - Your results from P90X were fantastic! You look great, girl!

Marcia - A hike in the warm weather sounds good! Enjoy the day with your DS and friend! (and the run if you do it! )

Judy - Enjoy your run! That is one of the things I like about the TM...you can make sure you stay at the speed you want to stay at ;-) I really like working my legs like you have been doing. I am going to try to do that, even though I am trying to do a rotation with P90X weights...I am trying to do a little bit of legs each day, too.

Gayle - Enjoy the concert! St. Jude's is such a good cause to donate to! That is so cool that your DS's school has a walking club!

Carole- Thanks for posting the picture of John! That was great! I am so glad he enjoyed it!

Christine - So....little Jimmy is settling in nicely, looks like! He is sooo cute!

This morning I ran 5 miles (TM) and did floorwork of Firm vol.1.

I have a lot of catching up on reading posts from this week....so "HI!" to everyone! TGIF!

Linda

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...sorry about the migraine. Yoga today might be nice and soothing...:)...yes, I agree the media coverage is awful about the shooting. Especially as it seemed to spur off some copycats things yesterday. One in a city not far from me! I am glad you talk about things with the kids, I do think that could help. I also wonder why the parents miss signs, but that is easy for me to say as I have no kids! Thanks, I am very happy for John and never give up hope for a miracle.

Wendy...thanks..:)...iClimb core cardio is # 17, The cardio portion is about 40 min, after 12 min you get off and do some functional fitness exercises with a med ball, squats is first, then you get back on the machine for about 5 min of cardio and then off again for lunges with the med ball, then back on for 5 min and off again for reverse lunges with the med ball than back on to finish the cardio. Then you do a 15 min stability ball ab workout. Enjoy BBC S&B....say "hi" to Joey for me...:)

Marcia...I think a one on one step class could be fun!!

Judy..enjoy your tempo run..

Gayle...sounds like a good workout for you. We have had alot of rain and 70 sounds nice!! Enjoy that concert tonight...:)

Linda...I missed you...Glad you got thru thru project. I am glad you liked the pic of John, he did have a good time and that makes me so happy. Good TM and leg workout.

Christine...how is Jumping Jimmy today!! Sounds like such an inquisitive puppy...:)

Susan....Sounds like you had a good run wednesday, hope you had fun with the DM premix. I am so sorry about Mary's results. And to be going thru a divorce at this time?...wow...I am glad you can be there for her. She will need a good friend. Sending (((HUGS))) to you both and thoughts & prayers for Mary during this difficult time...

Jackie...have you used a Bosu a long time? I have never felt compelled to try one for some reason...

I am a bit sore form PLB. Even using lighter weights! I am doing some leg floorwork and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning ladies! Yes, TGIF!!

Wendy - Glad you had a good spin class. How's the soreness today? Guess BBC is working you over, huh? Enjoy your evening out.

Cathy - Still can't get through CS. Maybe you need to break it up and do half one day and half another day. Sorry for the migraine.

Marcia - Glad you got that workout in last night. Hiking sounds like fun. Hope you get to do it.

Judy - Have a good run!

Gayle - Laughing at your son getting more steps than you. Now, you must step it up for the moms in the world. LOL!! Enjoy the concert tonight. Think they have a marathon in Memphis for St. Jude in Dec.

Linda - Good workout today!

Carole - Got the Bosu as a Christmas present. Thought it would be good for challenging the core and balance. I just like trying different things. Now, the rebounder is one thing I haven't wanted to buy - not yet anyway. Enjoy your run.

Shelly - I know you wanted to see the info on the race I did Saturday. They didn't post the times for the 5K but they did for the other races. Here's the link if you want to read all about it.
http://www.andrewjacksonmarathon.com/results.html

I did PUB. I did the warm up, then the ab work. Sure made doing those pikes on the ball much easier. Tomorrow is a 9 mile run. Hoping to find a few more hills.

I'm going to visit DBF for the weekend. We're supposed to go to Gibson Guitar for a show and hopefully dinner. We've never been to this place before. So, don't know what to expect.

Have a fantastic Friday!

Jackie

TGIF Everyone!

My last day at my current company! *Dances around room* Although I will miss the people I work with (at least most of them :+). Lunch yesterday was really nice – my entire team was there – even the ones who never make it to anything. I will miss my team. I also got the most gorgeously artistic flower arrangement from them. My exit interview is at 10AM, so after that I’m free. DD14 is coming back today, too. It will be so nice to see her again. I miss her. Yesterday I ended up doing CC Chose Living (LOVE that workout). Today is a circuit workout of some kind. Not sure what. I’m still tired from the canine jumping bean keeping me awake at night – not because he’s bad – but because I’m afraid he’ll be bad. He’s actually a good little guy for a puppy.

Cathy – I’m so sorry you got a migraine! How horrible! I hope you feel better today! But at least you got in 30 minutes, so you did okay. I ended up doing CC yesterday – but I may do the KPC/B&G mix today or tomorrow. If I put something together, I’ll let you know! And I agree – we’ve already had a guy here in California who closed schools for yesterday and today because he threatened something that would make the VA Massavre look like nothing. Fortunately they caught him and he said it was blown out of proportion. Yeah right. People can be so stupid at times. You don’t joke about bombs in airports and you don’t make threats like that and then say it was blown out of proportion.

Wendy – sounds like a fun day! Enjoy it! Are you going to buy anything?

Marcia – One person eh? At least you got your class in! A hike sounds really nice and a great way to tire the boys out! Funny – you guys are having wonderful weather and it’s raining here in Sunny California. Oh well, we really need it.

Judy – Enjoy your tempo run – sounds like a good one! And YES TGIF!!

Gayle – Oh how funny (and wonderful) that DS kicked your butt with the pedometer! I love the healthy competition. You’re such a great inspiration to your kids. And a great mom. Enjoy the wonderful weather!

Linda – Glad to “see” you back! Nothing like big projects to make you busy – eh? Thanks – I think he’s cute, too. A bit of a devil, but cute.

Carole - Jumping Jimmy is doing well – as bouncy as ever, and as loving as ever. Yeah, he’s an inquisitive little guy – needs to be in the middle of everything. I’m so glad you turned me on the iClimb 17 – I did the stability ball abs yesterday. They are tougher than they look (sound?)! Enjoy your run!

Jackie – I always do the ab work of PUB first – otherwise I’m in a puddle on the floor. Sounds like a fun weekend you have planned!!! Enjoy it!!

Well, it’s 6:30 and I haven’t moved, so I’d better get the ole butt in gear. Enjoy everyone!

Good morning cheetahs! I missed posting again yesterday:( The day just isn't complete without my cheetahfix! It can be hard to squeeze it in during a long work stretch though. Anyway, I'm off now
:) . Tomorrow is a big day for me.... the Run for the Cheetah 5k:7
www.runforthecheetah.org. I am so excited about this one!! I'm feeling strong and fast too :7 I got a notice that they will be selling "fun cheetah items" at the race.... uhoh! Including the "famous purring cheetahs" Well, I gotta get this! Sounds like a good mascot for us!

Cathy- hmmmm, sounds like you had an adverse reaction (as we say in the medical field) to Core Syn;-) I hope your migraine has subsided and you have a better day. Yoga sounds like a great workout for you tonight.

Christine- So, you ended up with the bouncing variety of Aussie? Those little pads of his must be made out of rubber! ;-) It must be such a relief to be on your LAST DAY:7 :7 :7 Are you going to be diplomatic or truthful on your exit interview?

Gayle- I saw your post yesterday about the roasted veggie soup...
sounds YUMMY:9 Too cute about the walking competition between your DS and you!! It's funny you mentioned the relay for life event.
I have a very good friend who has organized one (she lost her mother to cancer a couple of years ago) Anyway, I'll be helping her out with it next weekend. I'll be going there around 2-3am  when she has the hardest time getting people to come. I'll do my long run (15 miles) or 60 laps around a track

Susan- I'm so sorry about your friends diagnosis:( However, I gotta tell ya... attitude is EVERYTHING!!! And your friend has it, also support is almost as important and she's got that in you!!
She still isn't in a late stage so there is good reason to have hope!
We've made remarkable progress in the last several years in treating breast ca!!

Wendy- the BBC S&A is definitely the most fun of the workouts in this series!! How fun to be going to a jewelry party!! Don't spend too much.... gotta leave room in the budget for workout toys and dvds
;-)

Marcia- Interesting class last night! I bet your student thought it was great! I do have pity for the students of your upcoming circuit class;-) Do you use any of Cathe's moves in your classes?

Judy- a 5 mile tempo run!!! Sounds like you're really getting back into the groove again there! It is so nice that alot of the injured cheetahs are on their way back!

Linda- So, is this huge work project actually finished now? It must feel so gratifying to you.

Carole- another solid workout for superCarole today!! I did GS legs a couple of days ago (I hadn't done it for a while) and ended up with DOMS in the hammies. :) I guess I've been focusing more on endurance lately and I think I'll be focusing more on pure strength routines for a bit. PLB I think will be on my agenda soon.... after this upcoming cheetah race!

Jackie- Thanks for the link about the Andrew Jackson race.... I would have signed up for that one in a heartbeat!!! I'm a real history buff and I love doing anything with a historical connection
to it. Great seeing your name there for 1st place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, time to get moving... today will be PUB... as produced with the abs last (I like a challenge) gee, do you think someone hasn't figured that out about me yet? ;-) Then, I'll be packing for our quick trip to Phoenix. Probably won't be able to post tomorrow but you'll be hearing from me on Sunday:7

ShellyC

ShellyC - Yes, I have lots of Cathe moves in my class. If it wasn't doing Cathe for so many years I would have a very boring class.

Marcia.

Shelly - Have fun on your Cheetah run tomorrow!! I love it! And I want a famous purring cheetah!! Get one for me and I'll send you money for it - plus shipping! :p (You seriously do not have to - I just thought it would be fun!). Yes, I ended up with a bouncing Aussie - and I do believe you're right - I swear I saw springs in those little pads (not so little actually - he has big feet!). Although he bounces until he can't bounce anymore then he collapses. It's so funny. And today I was putting on my jeans and he bounced up and poked me in the rear with his nose (which is quite a feat for the little guy). Every single dog I get likes to poke me in the rear with his nose. What's up with that?

My exit interview - oh I'll be diplomatic. I already let our VP know of what I think needs changing (and I suggested nice ways to do it - I can play the game :+), so I'll just leave on a good note. I actually see no point in leaving a company on bad terms - you never know when someone in that company might be in a position of influence over you.

Well, off to my last day... *bounces with Jimmy*

Christine - I'm doing a happy dance for your last day too!! You are gracious to leave on a good note. You never know when you might need that in the future. Laughing at Jimmy poking you in the butt with his nose. Maybe they're just testing to see how firm it is. :)

Shelly - Good luck with your 5K tomorrow. I already know you will have a fast time. Have fun browsing the cheetah stuff. I want to be like you one day and be able to do PUB as written too. I just can't do a good pike when my arms are like jello. Again, I'm in awe. I can hang with Cathe and those weights.

Gonna go see what's happening on the rest of the forum.

Hello again! I thought I'd drop by one more time before leaving.
Thanks for all the well wishes on the race tomorrow. I hope to make all you cheetahs proud!

Christine- Always the best course of action not to burn any bridges behind you! I'm picturing bouncy Jimmy poking you from behind....
too cute;-) If the purring cheetahs look good I will get you one!

Marcia- I wish I could take one of your classes!!! well, maybe not, you'd probably do me in

Jackie- thanks for the well wishes!

Well, I did accomplish PUB as produced but boy was I doing a good jello imitation on those last leg holds:eek:

tata y'all

ShellyC

Hi everyone.

I have a few minutes before I have to hit those weights so I'll do my personals now. It'll probably be the last chance I have today so....:)

Judy: Nothin' like burning up the legs with weight work and then jumpin' on the TM to loosen them up! Love that!}(

Marica: LOL, you are such a meanie!:p

Gayle: So your DS beat you out, huh? Good for him! LOL

Linda: Nice run today! Thanks re the pics. I've been convinced to email them to Tony once I get the 90 day photos taken. I'm askeered!

Carole: I would love to download some of the circuit style ITrains but I do them at the gym and that would be a royal pain. ACK. Oh well...can't have everything I guess! LOL

Jackie: My chest still hurts but nothing else is nearly as sore as it was y'day. BBC is kickin' my butt! I LOVE IT!}( Have a fun weekend with DBF!:)

Christine: Glad you enjoyed your lunch!! Can't wait for more cute pics of the pooch!:+

Shelly: You can't fool me girl! Shoulders and Back is only the most fun work out in the series for you because JOEY teaches it and we all know how friggin' HOT he is!!!}( }( }( :7 :7 :7 ;) Good luck with your Cheetah race tmrw!!!!
