:::: CHEETAHS :::: tgif ~ 3.30

Christine - you're right about PUB biceps - OUCH!!! It buuuuuurns! ;)

You asked about Body Attack - it's one of the many Les Mills classes (Body Step, Body Pump, Body Jam, etc)... here's the website:
http://lesmills.com/midwest/en/members/bodyattack/bodyattack-group-fitness-program.aspx

It's basically an hour of powerful, athletic moves. It really builds stamina! I *heart* it - I take it every Friday morning and looking forward to it really helps get me through the week. :)

Well, hello there, cheetahs :) A quick hello before I hit the road...

Marcia :: Hope you figure out your number tonight & get a good night’s rest.

Wendy :: Hope you had fun with L&B…I like that combo ~ it seems to go by fast...A Sunday would work just as well...I'll email you after the weekend.

Judy :: Good to see ya post…I think your approach to running (following the Chi method and not getting hung up on speed) makes sense…Weather doesn’t look like conditions will be too great, but I’m sure we’ll make the most of it – thanks!

Christine :: sorry you had some rough days this week…it’s good to see ya back…I’m glad to hear there’s some good news in all of that: your positive interview experience, DD’s exciting musical debut, and the article on Tucker. What a fitting tribute. I hope you’ll post it here for us to read if you can…he upped the dosage b/c I think that is the customary thing to do…start you off low and then try to increase…it’s based on body weight. Thanks – I’ll try not to get sick this time *lol*. This is my normal ski troupe friends (the same group I have referred to in the past). They refuse to tell me where we’re going. OK with me. I’m up for good times. :)

Carole :: exactly my experience, too ~ but at a certain point, I think my brain just stopped working and my body took over.

Gayle :: hope you did well at the scales!

Karen :: I’d say, yeah, I like RTTC – as in, it’s OK, I’ll work it in now & then for some variety, but overall, I’m not gaga over Jari. I don’t usually harp on instructors, but she does grate a little bit. I feel that she talks too much about her tests and carbs/calories burned instead of getting on with the exercise…And I can also do without the pep talks – somehow they seem canned. After P90, I think I just have lowered tolerance for instructors/exercisers who seem to be more interested in seducing the camera than getting in a good hard workout. How's THAT for nitpicky? *lol*…Ooh, I *almost* did the leg blast this morning, but I didn’t want DOMS on the ski slope tomorrow! I miss that one.

Jackie :: hope the weather cooperates for an outdoor run for you tomorrow! Thanks for the info on Ripped.

Shelly :: glad you’re getting some much-needed rain out there…Wow, I *know* I’m in for it if *you’re* calling Barry grueling! :) …thanks for the good weather wishes!…Knowing you, I’m sure you’ll surpass that goal!…Someday I aspire to survive one week of Shelly-style workouts…how DO you do it, woman!…Have fun shopping!

Emily :: Body Attack sounds brutal!…Yeah, I think I’m one of those people who’s content to be slow!

Well, at my derm appt. this afternoon, my doc decided we would lower the dosage again to what it was before…I’m so happy. I *heart* Dr. Carb!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, last-minute packing & a bite to eat and then I’m off!! Have a great weekend, ladies! Catch up with you either Sunday night or Monday morning.

-Cathy :)

Good afternoon ladies,
I am super late checkin in today. I had my second chiro appointment and I am really encouraged. I don't know If I feel different yet, but I don't feel worst and in my case it will probably be a gradual healing. This IS going to make this back thing go away, positive thoughts only;-)

My sister is coming from Michican tomorrow with her family and I am trying to get the house ready. It is impossible to keep it clean with all the little darlings running around}( We are going to Monterey for 2 nights with everyone on Monday. I am so excited.

I ended up doing Butts and Gutts leg blast premix last night, LOVE that workout and today I have not had anytime, so it will either be a rest day or maybe the elliptical when everyone goes to bed.

Christine, I will be looking for the article about Tucker. What a great thing telling your story. I am sorry about you and your hubby having some conflict. I am sure you are both so stressed with the passing of Tucker and sometimes we take it out on the people we love and trust the most. Hopefully you can get a great workout in and feel better. It is gorgous out, as I am sure you know already:)

CAthy, have a GREAT trip and that is good news about the lowering of your dosage. I hope it make you feel better.

Heather, thank you for the info on the TLT's. In a week or two I will open them up and give them a try.

Marcia, Have fun at the anniversay party and good luck on your race.

Wendy, I remember the days when I have to get off the treadmill and run and change the baby. Emjoy this time, because it will be over before you know it:)

Judy, thanks for asking about the chiro. I posted above about that. The chi running sounds like a very safe and calm way to run. I think that we all need to use our abs more for every kind of exercise.

Carole, it is probably warm where you are today as well. Do you ever encounter any mountain lions or anything. We actually have had about 7 mountain lions sighting in our hills in the past 2 years. One yesterday actually went to an elementary school. What have you run into?

GAyle, enjoy your rest day with no guilt and the yummy pie:)

Karen, have fun with the leg blast premix. I did it last night and felt great!

Shelly, you are a total freak}( That workout is a WOW!!!! I laughed when you said you would take it easy for the rest of the day, DUH! You are too funny. Let's see if you have any DOMS tomorrow}(

Jackie, I like that you incorporate yoga and pilates into your routine a lot. I used to do yoga religiously everyday until I hurt my back. I got 2 new pilates dvd's and I will let you know how I like them.

Emily, wow, body attack sounds like fun. Did you have sciatica problems or piriformous syndrome. I have had sciatica for awhile now and am trying to get rid of it with a chiropractor. I agree that you are less likely to get injured when running slower and longer than faster and shorter.

That is it for me. Mariah is begging to play go fish. So, off I go. Have a great night ladies and I will probably not post for a couple of days, since we are having relatives here.

Take care all:)

Susan

Hey Ladies.

Well, I cheated. LOL I wasn't feelin' a work out this afternoon and DEFINATELY wasn't feeling L&B for some reason sooooo I grabbed Cathe's HSTA and the pull up torture from legs and back and combined them into this:

Leg Press round 1
Squats
Reverse Grip Chin Ups
Leg Press round 2
Plie Squats round 1
Wide Front Pull Ups
Leg Press round 3
Hover Squats round 1
Close Grip Overhand Pull Ups
Leg Press (2 sets) round 4
Sit n Stands round 1
Switch Grip Pull Ups
Plie Squats round 2
Hover Squats round 2
Sit n Stands round 2
L&B calf raises

It wasn't as tough or as thorough as L&B, BBC or one of the many Cathe lower body work outs but it will suffice! I ofcourse did ARX and grunted all the way through it! LOL

I am planning for a run at the gym tomorrow...my usual for a saturday morning. :) I downloaded a new Itread today...found another coupon code for a freebie in a thread in open discussion so ya know I HAD to use it! Needless to say I will probably give it a shot tomorrow!}( Speaking of which...if I don't load it into my IPOD it will be useless! LOL

I'm off to plug in my IPOD and then make myself some decaf java...I intend to come back for personals once I have mug in hand!;)

Didn't think I'd actually make it back, did ya? :p

Christine: Good luck with the paper intereview on Monday. I hope you get the pup you are after as well! :) Yes, the countdown is on to completion of the X...If the cold hadn't set me back several days I'd be almost ready to begin my final recovery week!

Carole: As you can see from my post above...I did not do L&B today. I just wasn't feelin' it. Oh well. It happens, right? Hope you had a good day and work out today.

Gayle: Hope you have a good weekend! Let us know what you think of the pudding you bought!}( :9 }(

KayKay: So you like the leg blast premix from b&g too huh? I haven't come across a Catheite yet who has done it and hasn't limped away in tears...well okay, except for our Shelly maybe! }( :7 ;)

Shelley: So you added in the cardio and STILL survived it!?!? Jeesh woman! Talk about BIONIC! Yowzas!

Jackie: So where did you end up doing your 8 miles? Indoors or out?

Emily: Glad you enjoyed your class today. Must get you good and pumped for the weekend, ey? }( I like the classes that my gym offers but I have a tough time showing up ON TIME for them! LOL I prefer to do things on my own schedule. It doesn't help that I'm also almost always running late by nature anyway! LOL

Susan: Have fun in Monteray. What do you all have planned to do while you are there? So did you take a rest day today or jump on the elliptical at bed time?

Shelly - Thanks for the vote of confidence for the 5K. I'm glad you lived through that workout. Sounds really tough. Hope you can walk tomorrow.

Emily - The Body Attack class sounds like fun. So, do you use weights in the class?

Christine - Glad you had a good workout. Look forward to reading the article about Tucker.

Susan - Sending positive vibes your way that the back will get better. Have fun with your sis and family. What pilates workouts did you buy? If I didn't add some yoga, pilates or stretching a few times a week, I don't think I would have any kind of flexibility. Since starting yoga a few years ago, I can definitely tell a difference. As I get older, I want to continue.

Wendy - Great mish mosh! Have a good run tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get to do my run outside in the morning. 7 miles is the most I've done on a treadmill.

Have a good night everyone!!

Jackie
