Cathlete
Mornin', cheetahs, & happy Friday!!! :) :) :)

Today will be Legs & Back for me...I still have DOMS in the tri's from S&A the other day.

Not too many posts from last night to catch up with...

Wendy :: yup, I've got it on my calendar, too...you have a time in mind? I know your schedule is harder w/ a little guy and a hubby to think of, so just let me know! :) Thanks for the offer, but I think it's best I not try Mr. YP as I have not been making time for much yoga lately as it is.

OK ladies, enjoy your Friday & your workouts. Will catch up later in the day.

Cathy :)

Morning Cathy and all who follow:

I had a kick butt step class last night. Whew....we were stepping up a storm }( It felt great! I picked music that was just a beat or two faster and man did that make a difference.

Today is P90X Shoulders and Arm with ARX. Can't wait, I LOVE this one!}( }(

We are due for a nasty snowstorm all weekend long. x( Just when the temps were hitting the 40's and melting everything we had now we are estimated to get over a foot of snow. Oh well, it's good for our bar business we get lots of snowmobilers then and DS loves to go sledding, so there are some good points.

If I'm snowed in, I can spend lots of time working out and getting ready for my Tastefully Simple Spring Open House coming up in a month. Lots of invites to address and get mailed.

Have a great day everyone - TGIF!!!!

Marcia. :7

Good Morning Cheetahs.

Cathy: Don't forget that yoga is a part of the X rotations so you must do it!:) We can figure out a time to meet when the date gets closer. I'm thinking lunch time would be good. We could go to some really fattening joint to eat and then come back and tell the Cheetahs all about it!:9 }( :9 :p

Marcia: A foot of snow? YIKES! Sounds like a good time to do Yoga X since it's so darned long! LOL

Susan: Sorry, I know throwing YP in the trash is like a sin to you! LOL I will try to avoid going that route just for you! ;)

Well, my legs are feelin' pretty righteous this morning. I think last night's yoga session really did the trick. I should be OKAY to complete Legs and Back today. ~PHEW~ I was getting nervous there for a while y'day! :7

So do I have any possible takers for Mr. YP??? :)

good morning,

cathy- I will let you know how I like them. I plan on doing the sculpting one and I need to do an upper body workout today also. Not sure which one I will do. Maybe shoulders and arms from P90x since I havent done any of those workouts in awhile.

I think I might invest int he gym style workouts since I have read so much great reports about them. I really want to get more cut in my arms and hope this workout will do the trick. Maybe if I stuck to the P90x arm workout I would also. The last couple of weeks I have done ME 2x week. This week I did my bootcamp class 1x week and split legs up the other day so I at least need to do an upper body in addition to my class. I also might try a full body workout on sunday, if time permits. I have only been teaching once a week the past few weeks since wednesday morning class has either been cancelled due to weather or people being ill. I dont mind the break though, it gives me a chance to do something else. The past two weeks I have definately mixed things up between bootcamp class, tae bo,running, elliptical and total body wt routines. I notice with my runs that although my running endurance isnt as good as it was last spring I am definately stronger with running as far as my body. I like that feeling, now if I can get the breathing endurance up I would have it made. But going from 3days of running to 1 will do that to ya.

sorry to be rambling. I will talk with you all later!

wendy- I havent done yoga x or even preveiwed it yet. I should since I need to really stretch. My hamstrings are tight from running.
have a nice day!

OK - I'm wayyyy out of the loop.......who is Mr. Yummypants? I know I've read lots of reference to this workout/yoga, but where do I go to preview, I might be interested Wendy. I'd love to do a yoga workout that relaxs me and lets go of all the stress from work.

I know I live under a cave sometimes. ;-)

I'm off to get ready for work. I'll be back on later - I have the office to myself so I should get a lot done today and be able to frequest here, too. :p

Take care,
Marcia.

Laura:

YogaX is a long one but it's pretty easy to split up because the "sections" are pretty clear cut. The first 45 minutes is strictly ashtanga yoga. The next 20ish are balance postures and the last part is alot of stretching and the dreaded "yoga belly 7" moves!}( You should try just the first 45 minutes of it! I was doing it last night and I was sweating!!!}(

Why don't you create your own doable rotation using the X weight work outs if you want good definition? These will really give that to you! You can do 2 work outs per week so that you have room for your bootcamp class! Then change up the work outs you are doing every 3 weeks like Tony does in the X rotations and put in your own cardio! Just a suggestion!:)

>OK - I'm wayyyy out of the loop.......who is Mr. Yummypants?

Bryan Kest and the dvd is called Bryan Kest's Power Yoga. It has 3 programs on it. Beginner, intermediate and advanced. They call them Energize, Tone and Sweat.

You might want to try www.collagevideo.com for a preview. They may have it.

ETA: I just looked and Collage doesn't have it.:-(

Happy Friday Cheetah Babes!

Today is cardio for me. Not sure which yet, but I’ll figure it out… We do have snow today, but it’s up higher in the mountains. The rest it’s just icky and rainy again – should be through the weekend. *sighs* Oh well, we do need it, so I guess I should not complain!

Cathy – Enjoy L&B! The tri’s from S&A gets me too!

Marcia – I want to take your step class – it sounds like fun! Where do you live? I know I know – but snow mobiles? Amazing to this California girl… :p Hopefully you won’t get too much snow!

Wendy – I’m glad your legs are feeling righteous! You’re not a fan of Mr. YP either? I think he’s good looking – but I just don’t click with his style. I like Baron or Rodney (and of course Tony).

Laura – I agree with Wendy – save your money and do the Upper Body P90X workouts twice a week. Don’t get me wrong – I love the GS series, but if you already have P90X – do that instead. You don’t HAVE to do the entire rotation.

Jess – did you ever figure out if you were sick from your Peter Pan Peanut Butter – it’s still in the news here!

Well, I’m off to workout… Enjoy your day ladies!

Hi everybody! Count me as one ill Cheetah these days! YUCK! I spent the last 24+ hours lying on the couch covered in 8 blankets, with all-too-often trips to the bathroom. Chills, aches, churning stomach, fever. YUCK! I am NOT admitting it could be the flu, lol. I feel better today than yesterday, but I'm light-headed. I barely ate anything yesterday, but just had a banana. Hoping to be back to 100% by Sunday.

I need to go back and try to catch up. Did I miss anything????

Gayle

Christine: Thanks for taking over the role of Indecisive Cheetah!:p

Gayle: Glad you are feeling better. I HATE being sick like that! ACK!

thanks wendy and christine. So you both think I should save my money and do P90x upper body workouts to get lean and cut. I do love the workouts . I hope they give me the results on my arms that I have been waiting for.

christine- that dogs tail catches my eye everytime I am on this forum! cute!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...have fun with Legs & Back. Sounds like fun that you and Wendy will get to meet up!

Marcia...sounds like you had a good class last night. P90X S&A is a fun one..

Wendy..so you don't like Mr YP?....I guess these things happen..:)...Have fun with Legs & Back...I do like those groucho walks, they always make me laugh...

Laura..I think you would love the Gym Style workouts. I think they would give you good results.

Christine...enjoy your cardio day. We had alot of hail yesterday and it looked like snow on the ground. It's 31 this morning, but clear. I do see more rain though on the forecast.

Gayle..sorry about your yukky feeling. I do hope you feel better today...

I am doing back work from something... and a chilly 4 mile run...

Have a great friday...:)

Laura: Yes, definately give the X a shot before you buy the GS series. Not that the GS series isn't great but you already have the X! Be consistent with the X and you will get results! You HAVE to-your muscles have no choice but to respond...those are kick butt work outs! LOL }(

Carole: Have fun doing back work. I love working back. The groucho walk is quite amusing and OUCHEES it's effective too!}(

Hello Friends

I have been reading quite a bit!

Instant Relief is a keeper. It is a great reference.

Chi Running has me intrigued; I am at chapter 3 and will finish the book before making any judgement. Have any of the Cheetahs read this book and applied the principles? He is anti strength trainning for legs. very interesting. So far, Chi Running it has made me consider taking a private pilates class to work my core differently. ( I bought a private pilates class at a silent auction last spring which will expire in March)

Today is EXT 60" but I am kinda hankering for step.....

PS I have no DOMS (yet) from PP UB x 3 . I think I am getting used to these exercises. Next week will be a change up! to all

Hi to all and have a pleasant Friday

PS Carol- is the hail melted? be careful:)

G'morning Cheetahs! It's Friday, it's Friday! I love Fridays! ;-) Allison has preschool & I can go to the Y for as long as I like! :) Greg gets off work early on Fridays (he works 4 9 hr days & then just a 4 hr day on Fri), so he picks her up.

I sounds like we'll have a house-full here tonight. Both of Greg's brothers & his SIL will be here & I think his Mom will be coming tomorrow. So I have work to be done!! :p His Mom is excited to come see the *new* bathroom. The girls will love it, I'm actually blessed w/ a wonderful MIL! My FIL is working in Tulsa for now, so I know he'll be sad to miss out.

Sorry I haven't been posting much. I've been trying to limit my time on here because it feels like I get nothing done! We ran errands all morning y'day, then came home to unload & get things done. Then Greg & his brother Brian were playing computer games last night so I had no computer. The nerve! :p

Laura ~ I have to say it, ORDER the GYM STYLES!! Seriously, if any workouts have helped me w/ strength & definition, it's the GS. Especially my chest. However you already have P90X & it sounds like most everyone gets good results from them.

Wendy ~ I might be interested in Mr. YP!! I like Baron's yoga, but he's the only one I've tried. Let me know how much you want for it!

OK, I've got to get Allison in the tub & ready for preschool & get my gym bag packed. I plan on running at least 3, then swimming. My buddies & I have planned a 5 mile run on Sunday, I'm hoping my knee lets me!!! *crosses fingers*

ETA: I did do GS Bi's & Tri's y'day, then B & G stability ball abs & firewalkers w/ the silver band. (I got my purple & silver bands in the mail, so I had to try them out!! ) }(

Good morning ladies-

cathy- i am going to be so jealous of you and wendy's fun get together!

wendy- you are just plugging away with your rotation. any plans for any more races?

gayle- i hope you feel better soon. sending healing ((((vibes)))

judy- go ahead and give into step- cathe is calling you:)

carole- which back workout are you choosing. i have DOMS in my back from my bbc's workout yesterday.

christine- i just love your new signature, lol.

marcia- i hope you get a chance to enjoy your snow day. glad you had a kick butt step class.

laura- i agree with the other ladies. GS are awesome workouts, however if you already have p90x, there is no way you will not received the results you are looking for.

today's workout 30 mins on elliptical (done) and a premix from B & G.

ttyl...:)

thanks for the recommendations ladies! I probably still will order the gym style just because everyone has talked so highly of them. But I do love the arms and shldrs workout from theX. I have done it a few times but havent stayed consistantly with just that. I mean I have been doing upper body workouts just the X's here and there so maybe if I just do the X upper body for a few weeks I will see a difference.

cathy- I just finished the sculpting workout from the barre method. those little exercises really burn. They dont seem like much but I definately was feeling my thighs burn especially during the one that you are standing and up on your toes bending your doing the slight knee bends and then the knee pulses. Ouch!! but it is a slow paced workout and would be more of a add on or just a lazy day workout.

I plan on doing arms and shldrs later on after house work.

see ya!
