::::: CHEETAHS ::::: TGIF, 2/23

Quick check in to say that I ended up doing Cardio Fusion's Mix and Match premix. I skipped through the second half of drill 3 (that one bores me) and the second half of drill 6 - not in the mood to terminate... :+ But I had a great time. I have to say I really love the new workouts.

Good morning cheetah friends,

I am also glad it is Friday. I am going out for breakfast with my hubby this morning for a nice veggie omelette and then my girlfriends are taking me out to lunch to a sushi bar. So, it will be an eating day, but I really am going to try to be good}( Friday and the weekends are hard for me to eat clean.

I definitley feel better today than yesterday. I definitley had the blahs yesterday. I am going to do the elliptical for 45 minutes and then the lying leg work from legs and glutes. I did ME last night and it was really TOUGH!!! It has been awhile since I have done the whole thing.

Well, I am off to take the kiddies to school. I will be back for personals a little later.

Cheers!

Susan

Hey there!

I'm inside defrosting...I took Joey and Clyde out for some play time in the yard. I haven't taken Joey outside to play in ages....even with the warm winter we had. I just don't think about it. I'm a bad mommy. :-( Anywho, there is still some snow/ice on the ground and it was Joey's first time dealing with that. He did a pretty good job of navigating it. I had sox on his hands for gloves. He looked so funny!:+ He loves to throw the ball for Clyde. I think he'd do it all day if Clyde would continue to fetch it!:7

Judy: The thing about no strength training for legs sounds wierd to me. I can understand cutting back while training for a race but to completely eliminate it? I am not a fan of heavy lifting for the legs but I atleast do endurance work on a regular basis and would think that atleast should be encouraged. Hmmm...You'll have to let us know your thoughts on this once you are done with the book.:)

Sunny: No race plans right now. I do check on occassion for what's coming up. Nothing has moved me yet. I may do the one in June that Shelly will be doing and I'm sure I'll run a couple with my running buddy once the weather warms up. No plans just yet though...
A B&G premix....Leg Blast perhaps??}( }( }(

Jess: I'm not sure what to ask for the yoga DVD. To be honest I didn't pay much for it myself...$13.00 and it has 3 work outs on it! If I ask for too little $ I may as well just GIVE it away! LOL Marcia voiced some interest in it too. How do I fairly decide who gets it if you both want it???

Christine: Cardio Fusion huh? Sounds like you had fun! I don't blame you for skipping terminators! I about died during the terminators in BC the other day! I can't jump either. I just stand up raise my hands and then go back down to the floor. I only do the consecutive jumps at the end of the segment. :p

Susan: Sounds like you have a fun day of good food and good company planned. Good for you! Moms need that in order to stay sane!;)

Okay, well it's just about nap time here so I'm off to get that done, eat something and do Legs and Back.

BBL!:+

Hi Cheetahs—
Getting a late check in today. I got home from work late last night, but got up early to exercise and now its kind of a whirlwhind getting ready for the weekend. I’m cooking a lot (which is good) and now I get to go get a haircut.

Cathy-have fun with Legs & Back. Your Shoulders & Arms got a good workout with Tony this week. It’s a hard tape, IMO.

Marcia—Have fun with your P90x w.o. today. I hope you enjoy the upsides of the snowstorm coming your way.

Wendy—After a brief period of grief, I am now peace with your decision about Mr. YP. :+ I like his dialogue, telling me I am ok, no matter how far I bend, etc….but I like other tapes, too. You have a hard choice on who to sell it to!! I tend to feel the same about leg work (re: the Chi book). I feel like working my legs definitely helps me more than when I used to not work them.

Laura—do keep us posted on what you think of the Bar workouts. I may spring for Fluidity. I think it would be good for my hip issues. I think the GS workouts are a good investment. If you can afford it, it’s nice to have both P90 & GS.

Carole –Good luck on the 4-mile chilly run. I heard about the California weather on the news. It sounds like it’s very bad/atypical weather for California.

Judy—I’m glad you like Instant Relief. I like it a lot. I’m going to check out the other 2 books you got. Have fun with your EXT workout.

Gayle – sorry you are sick as a dog. Yuck, I hate feeling sick like that. Take good care of your Cheetah self.

Christine—fun workout you did today. I love your new doggie signature. That’s adorable. It’s nice to get to know the workouts well enough that you know what to hit “skip” on the DVD control.

Jess—have fun with your full house tonight. I bet you get a lot of compliments on the work you’ve done on yoru hosue.

Sunny—Good job on your EXT workout, now complete. Which premix on B&G will you do ?

Susan-Your day plan sounds very fun. I wish I could meet my DH for lunch, but it doesn’t usually workout. I am guessing that you eat cleaner & better than you think you do. Have a fun EXT workout & floorwork.

Elaine—Hi! How did your test go if you already took it or how is studying going if you are going to take it?

Judy-- I really like how the Instant Relief book gives you options for stretching when stuck sitting.

I used the slideboard and then did a easy-paced 3 mile TM run. Yesterday, I felt like the B&G floorwork really loosened/stretched my muscles after my run.

Hi to the rest of the wonderful Cheetahs: Thomasina, Kristi, Karen, Linda (how's the seat & thigh workout going in terms of being able to squeeze it in?) and ShellyC (how's Birdy today?) and Shelley and everyone else!

I just heard from a dear friend who has been strugglng for 2 years to move out of a dead end job -- and she finally got a new job offer at a place where she can get benefits & possibly move up eventually. I am just thrilled for her!!

Have a great Friday, Cheetahs!
Barb
:) :) :)

Hi everybody! Hope you're all having a good afternoon and getting ready to kick it this weekend!

I'm feeling much better and getting better each minute. My head isn't spinning anymore and I'm not so light-headed either. Had a banana for BFast, a Vita muffin for snack and veggie chili now for lunch. I hit the grocery store and stocked up on healthy foods again. My aunt is in from Boston and we're going to the farmer's market tomorrow afternoon, and I'm excited about that!

I'm thinking that if I'm better tomorrow, I may get up early for a total body weight workout. I think I'll lay off the cardio for 1 more day. I emailed 'The Doc'...the guy who is the certified trainer for the half that I'm training for to find out what the best way to get back into the training schedule, so I think I'll also use his advice when I get it.

OK.....we're at my parents' house hanging out. We're coming back to my grandmom's house (lives across from my parents) tonight for dinner (cabbage and noodles, yummy Hungarian dish).

ANYWAY...

Gayle

Okay, L&B (remember what that is, Christine? :p ) and ARX are DONE!:+ I actually wanted to add in a bit of extra cardio at the end but I sooooo do not have the time!!! I am heading up north to drop Joey at his Aunt's for the weekend and then heading over to a friend's house to visit for the evening. I am supposed to leave in about 30 mins and I haven't showered yet OR fed Joey!

I won't be back here until tomorrow at some point so have a great rest of the day and evening everyone!

TOODLES!:+

Wendy-
Have a fun weekend. Good job getting in your L&B & ARX workout.

Karen--I forgot to say that I'm sorry about the chest muscle tear. That's incredible you've been carrying on with all your exercise, despite the injury. I'm glad the echo didn't show anything more serious!!

Barb:)
With haircut, and too much hair gunk on it -- but I smell really good & sweet. Glad there aren't a lot of bees around today in Michigan....

Good afternoon Cheetahs:

Wendy - I love your new pic of Joey sleeping. What a sweetheart! :* :*

Gayle - I'm glad you are feeling better. There's nothing worse than training for a race, getting sick and having to 'catch up' or try to get back on track. Good luck!

Jess - You sound like you will have a full house! Enjoy your company.

I'm sitting here at work, hearing from everyone a different story about the weather - when it will get here - how much snow - freezing rain - etc. There is a winter weather warning starting at 6PM tonight until 6PM Sunday night. Now, that's a long time! I'm going to stop at the store and maybe pick up a few things we may need while we are 'snowed in'.

I will get some great workouts in if we are snowed in, that's for sure! I'm ready for that. }( Bring it!}(

Have a great afternoon and evening - I will probably be back later.
Marcia.

G'afternoon Cheetahs!! I'm in a FABULOUS mood! I had a GREAT run this morning. It felt wonderful!! I did intervals on the TM for 4.25 miles & not a twinge of knee/ IT band pain. I even pushed it up to 8.5 for a couple min. WOOHOO!!! I love speed. }( Stretched after & hips didn't feel tight at all. I was soooo excited, I was almost dancing around the Y locker room! (good thing no one else was in there! :p ) Then I had a great 25 min swim, it felt wonderful. I have to say that this IT band injury has NOT been fun, but I've learned other ways to get my heart rate up & cross train. I've learned a lot about listening to my body & that it's ok to rest. My new motto is "just because I *can* doesn't mean I *should*." One more thing, I think doing the firewalkers has helped strengthen & stretch my IT band too. I've been trying to do them once a day. Now that I have my silver band, I caan feel it even more!

Anyway, sorry about that. Since you ladies have put up w/ me as a pseudo-Cheetah for a while, I'm happy to have my spots back. ;-)

House is clean, just have to vacuum the upstairs once Allison gets up. It looks like my MIL is not coming down, the weather is supposed to get nasty tonight w/ freezing rain. So we'll see if my BIL/ SIL are able to make it ok.

Ok, off to get a cup o' coffee & come back for personals. :)

I opted for standing legs and abs timesaver. what a great workout!! my legs on fire from the firewalkers.

Jess- yippeeeeeeeeee!! i am so very happy for you. you are one heck of a cheetah:) i am with you on those firewalkers today.

wendy- love the new avatar:) how is the house selling going?

cathy- glad you are happy with tony thus far! also agree with you re: my dh. sometimes you just never know when/where you will meet the person you were meant to spend the rest of your life with.:)

marcia- i love your thinking snowed in = more workouts.

barb- many congrats to your friend! what is the slideboard? sounds interesting.

BBL...

Cathy ~ Good job on getting in a workout. I hate that post-nap *funk* feeling. Sounds like you're liking the *X*.

Marcia ~ I'd love to come take your step class!! Snowmobiling, I love it!! We used to have one when I was growing up, sooo fun. Have a great weekend!! I'll bow out & you can take Mr. YP, I don't squeeze in yoga as often as I should & I do like Baron Baptiste.

Wendy ~ No worries on Mr. YP. Marcia can have it if she wants! You're quite the enabler lately! :) Sounds like you & Joey had fun outside. My girls love playing in the snow, they outlast me in the cold. It sounds like we might be getting more snow this weekend after the last couple days of it melting off.

Laura ~ I hope you like the GS workouts as much as I do. My only complaint, it seems like my *jugs* are shrinking!! I really noticed it today when I put my swim suit on. Oh well, I have some to lose anyway, although I have gone from a DD+ (when heavy) to a nice C cup. I might have to change my nickname!! Another suggestion w/ running, do you run intervals or just a steady pace?? Just bumping up the speed for even a min or 2 can help build your speed & burn more fat. Hope you like the Barre workouts! Sounds interesting.

Gayle ~ Hope you're feeling better!! I've had my share of sickness in the last couple weeks & am happy to be feeling better!

Christine ~ Love the doggie in your sig! As for the PB, I don't know for sure, but think that might have been the culprit of my *flu*. It was seriously the worst abdominal cramps I've ever had & I have a very high pain tolerance (had all 3 girls all-natural childbirth ;-)). My dh at the time had mentioned it might be food poisoning, but I didn't even think of it being PB!! Smucker's Natural & Naturally More PB it is for me now- not even a lick of other stuff! ;-) I did CF Mix & Max a couple weeks ago- good workout!! When I did the terminators in BC last week I *tweaked* my wrist a bit. It was ok the next day but I felt it right after I did them. I think I was slamming my hands down too hard?

Carole ~ Good job running in the cold! You're such a trooper, running in the cold, rain, whatever! Hope you had a good workout!

Judy ~ I've seen that Chi running, but haven't read it. Share some of it when you can! I hope your hip is feeling better. I love doing pilates, it's really helped me strengthen & tone my core. Now if only I could surgically remove my extra skin/ stretch marks!! ;(

Sunny ~ You're keeping busy w/ the PT!! What premix did you do on B & G?? I did the stability abs y'day, I'd only done them once before & I enjoyed it!

Susan ~ Hope you've enjoyed your *eating* day!! How great that you can spend some time w/ your hubby. I'm looking forward to that once Allison is in school full time! :p

Barb ~ Sounds like you have a nice new fresh smelling 'do! Mine already seems to have grown back what I cut off a couple weeks ago. It grows fast. It never seems to do what I want, just has a mind of it's own so I just wash & go. BTW, I never got a chance to say it, but loved that story about the boys & swimming! Isn't it great when older siblings stick up for their annoying younger siblings??

Karen ~ Sorry about the torn chest muscle- ouch!! I'm glad that it's nothing more serious & it sounds like you'll still be doing great since you can still run! Take care of yourself.

Hi to everyone else!! Sorry, I've got to get a few things done before my dd's get home in about 15 min. They called from the school office about 2:15 to say that Kiersten had bumped heads w/ someone in gym class but she was ok. I asked if I should come pick her up but they said she'd be ok. We'll see the damage when she gets home. Poor kid, she ripped her pants on Wed & now this!!! They were at a field trip to a petting zoo & she climbed a little fence to pet the animals & got her pants caught & ripped!! Ripped right under her little tushie. She was embarrassed but ok & luckily her winter coat is long.

Allright, must get movin'!! Have a great Friday!

Thanks, Marcia!! It did feel wonderful & I'm still on cloud 9!!! Now, NO more injuries!! Hoping to have a good 5 mile run on Sunday w/ my buddies!! I talked to my friends & they said how much they miss me pushing them. }( (they're both a bit slower than I am, but they have great endurance!)

Hey Sunny! Sounds like a good workout! Love those firewalkers!! Do you have a silver band?? I just love that burn! (I know, I'm weird that way!) I'm happy about my run too!

Just popping in to say I finished L&B...I like it! Luckily, my new bands arrived in today's mail...But I do wonder if I can get good results just using bands. Decided to skip ARX today, which means I will only get it in twice during the 1st week of phase 1, but as far as I'm concerned, it's still better than what I was doing. OK, gotta eat something soon - tonight I have to fast for my bloodwork in the morning. (It's routine for the Accu. treatment.)

I will try to get back here for personals later. If not, I'll get to them in the morning.

Ciao!
Cathy :)

Jess-great news! I'm really happy for you. Firewalkers are a good thing for the ITB. Your new philosophy of "I can doesn't mean I should" is very wise. I hope you feel good for your run Sunday. :) WTG!!!!

-Barb
:)

Thanks, Barb. Maybe since I'm heading toward 30 I'm wising up. ;-) I'm hoping for a good run on Sunday too, it will be my longest since the marathon!!!

What kind of bands are you using, Cathy?? Is it for the pull ups? It sounds like you're doing great w/ the workouts! G/L w/ the blood work. I used to take acne meds & had to do routine bloodwork too. Then when I was pg I had to go every month or more for bloodwork. I became the queen of getting it done!

Have a good night!

I'm back!! The girls & I are just hanging out. Our company won't be here til around 8:30 so we have time to chill. We made coffeecake (not healthy!!) so that will be ready for breakfast (I'll stick to my oatmeal, but I do like to make something nice for guests!).

Just need to run the vaccum & then the girls can tidy up once they're done. You gals w/ little girls- are they obsessed w/ the lil' pet shops??? My girls LOVE them!!

Well, it sounds like the girls want to do girlie things like painting our toenails so I'd better run! ;-) Have a great night!
