Cathlete
Happy Sunday, cheetahs :)

I woke up from some strange dreams and haven’t been able to get back to sleep, but I figured I might as well get my day going since I have so much to do. Even though it’d be another good day for an outdoor run, I think today I will probably give the new Powerstrike or Hardcore K’box Circuit a go. I'm glad to see more reasonable temps are on the way, AND besides that, I noticed it is staying lighter longer, which I *love.*

Enjoyed a good run yesterday EXCEPT I was a little perplexed about the HRM…it didn’t give me a reading for most of the run, and when it did, it was WAY off – in the 80s. Does anyone else’s HRM give you problems when you run? I was wondering if it conflicted with my Garmin and/or iPod. That would really suck if it won’t work bc of interference!

OK, catching up with personals…it was a light day around here…

Judy :: Hope you had a great workout on the elliptical y’day…the dance went well…I’m cutting & pasting what I wrote to Susan about it yesterday: The dance was fine, but things sure have changed from when I was in junior high! We danced, we hung out – these kids wanted to *run* around the gym and chase one another. It struck me as very odd—more like what you’d see at an elementary dance rather than middle MS. I’m gonna have to school them in “cool” on Monday. It’s just funny the contrast between the district I am in now vs. my former district. The kids here are generally *very* well-behaved and academically-oriented, but they are also somewhat sheltered. Last year (my first year there), I couldn’t believe I was teaching eighth graders – they were SO different from the jaded 8th graders in my old school. Here, they’re a little more sheltered and innocent. Which I'll gladly take any day! Is ETL Eating for Life? Is that by the same guy who wrote Body for Life? I glanced at BFL in the bookstore yesterday but it seemed like it might be geared to folks who are completely sedentary and need to get started.

Carole ::: I looked for Sally’s book at Barnes & Noble yesterday (since I didn’t want to wait for delivery!), but they didn’t carry it. I will try another bookstore today, and if I’m out of luck, I’ll order online. I think Kramer & George are tied for my favorites. Although I do love Mr. Costanza, too. He's a nut! Hope you enjoyed KPC, the legwork, & yoga.

Marcia ::: sounds like you did quite well for dining out!

Sunny ::: I do think 20 minutes on the elliptical counts!! B&G rocks! The only premix I’ve tried so far is the blast, but I’m sure all of them are good. I’ll have to give that one a go. Re: your iTrain…to get it onto your iPod, you’ll have to plug your iPod into the computer and open up iTunes. When you are in iTunes, you’ll see the name of your iPod appear in the left-hand column (where it says Library, Store, etc.) Then, in the same column, click on Purchase. You should see your iTrain in a list of downloaded items. Click on it and drag it “into” your iPod. It will automatically transfer. To disconnect, click on the eject icon (next to your iPod’s name) and wait for it to give you the OK to remove the iPod from your computer. HTH!

Shelly ::: sorry about that rough night Wed. night. I imagine that your job entails a fairly regular amount of chaos. What was it like? NJ has been cold, but yesterday was in the 40s, so it felt like a heat wave. *lol* It was a beautiful day for a run. Hope you were able to crunch those tax figures relatively painlessly. That’s my plan for next weekend…My current school district seems to give us our tax info on Jan. 31st…otherwise, I’d be getting mine out of the way, too. My rule is always get them done before Valentine’s Day…it makes for a quick return!

Christine ::: I’m glad the pain’s at least gone when you walk…How did yesterday’s workout affect the groin pull? I don’t know if there are any fees, but I’ll check into that. I didn’t realize you could use a band for chinups.

Wendy ::: great run! I might have missed this, but are you using measurements or calipers to measure your body fat?

BTW, No word yet on when the t-shirts are shipping. Last update was last Wednesday – they were in production. But I imagine it’ll be soon.

Enjoy your Sunday!
Cathy :)

Hi Cheetahs--
Just popping in to say "hello" and hope to be back Monday with personals and updates on my weekend.

My DH is recovering from the silly putty mallet injuries. We managed to get through the day yesterday peacefully. My kids had good days overall fr. night & Sat. and we're back today for more. Thanks to everyone for the support on that.

I'm seeing if I can get a run in now before heading out. Did some KB yesterday a.m.

Cathy-have a good w.o today with kboxing. My HR monitors have sometimes done that weird thing. It's helped me to make sure the whole thing is really wet and in contact with the skin well before you start. I sometimes get the HR monitor on first, make sure it has a strong signal, then load up with the other stuff. I haven't had any interference though between the HR, Garmin & iPod (thank goodness I don't have a pacemaker here with all this equipment!)

Judy--how was that CC special workout? If you already posted about this, I'll go back and look.

Gotta go.
Have a great day everyone!
-Barb:)

Good Morning Cathy and Barb.

I guess you ladies are the early risers this morning, ey? :)

Cathy, Thanks for the hints to help me study for my PT exam!
I am using the omron handheld body fat analyzer. I know the actual number it gives you is not as accurate as calipers or whatever but the rise and fall of bf IS pretty accurate and that is my main concern. Let's face it...I'll never know my TRUE bf % unless I pay to have that dunk tank test done or whatever! LOL I bought calipers in the past but they were a pain in the you know what. I'm too impatient for that kind of stuff so I trashed 'em!:p Sorry your HRM was giving you trouble. I used to wear one when I first started running outside and mine went nuts as well. It worked much better inside during Cathe cardio then during a run for some reason. I eventually stopped wearing it all together though...I became disenchanted w/the info it provided. I'm like a kid who gets bored of her toys quickly! LOL

Barb, I am glad your DH survived the mallet! LOL Hope you come back tmrw with stories of a super productive weekend!:)

Laura, So when are you going to start your P90X rotation? ;)

Judy, So you dropped and kept off 10 pounds over this past year? Good for you! I think I am only a few pounds lighter then I was right before I got pregnant but my body composition has changed ALOT!

Carole, Every winter my tush is running off...it's so annoying! LOL :p Did you enjoy KB y'day? I can't seem to stay interested in kickboxing work outs for very long. I like them but in a very quick and passing fancy sort of way.

Marcia, How was the party?

Sunny, 20 mins on the elliptical certainly DOES count as a work out girl! They say as little as 10 mins is better then nothing!:) Amy G. from these forums said the same thing to me-doing Cathe has taught me more then I realize and it will help me a lot in taking the PT exam! So carve out the time and get started on a P90X rotation girl!}(

Shelley, So do you think you will really go for a PT cert at some point? The book I am reading has talks alot about doctors referring patients to trainers to help them with different ailments and such. They say it's a great match that is very valuable to the patient's well-being.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I think you can cheat a bit after a nice 6mile run! I also love the lighter & longer weather. I have both of those kickbox workouts and Powerstrike is a bit more intense than the Hardcore Circuit one, but they are both fun. I'd think it could have been interference with your HRM yesterday. I haven't tried running with a HRM and a Garmin, but when I had the Timex GPS and used that and my Polar I never got interference. You might have to order Sally's book as I am not sure many stores carry it.

Barb...Hope you have a good run.

Wendy..sounds like a fun workout yesterday! Good job on the results too!! I like to do KB once a week as in the P90X rotations.

Sunny...hope you enjoyed CC yesterday. I really like KPC the best of Cathe's kickboxing. The abs on the ball are so fun.

Shelly...sorry for your work night from hell. In your type of job you really never know what will happen night to night. Yes, you challenged me to use silver, so I did. WOW! I did feel it but I will pass on using it for the scapular retractions...:)..hope CTX upper and the Elliptical was fun yesterday...

Christine...good idea not to push it with the groin. Hope you had fun with CC and iClimb

Laura...Jari's workout is fun. I have not done that one for awhile. When you have alot going on it can be busy to stick to a rotation. Good job on the run in the cold temps.

Marcia...Bootcamp is a tough workout. Hope you had fun bartending.

I am planning a 10-12 mile run with my friend today. My sister did a run at the coast yesterday. The Clam Beach run. It is fun but I didn't feel like doing it. Maybe next year and I can talk Christine, Susan and maybe Elaine into it!!

Have a nice day...:)

Christine & any one interested in The Choose Living Cardio Coach download: The Choose Living/ Cardio Coach WO was a decent challenge. It had five separate challenges and two steady state recovery sections (which were really needed) I got my HR up to high 190s only in the brief red zone sections and averaged a Hr in the 150's. So I would say it was worth doing and I will do it again, just not the day before a long run. I did follow it up with my own series of 4 X 16 reps of one legged squats front side and back per leg. (Like in LIC)

Shelly- It is nice to read your posts. It can be hard to check in daily though. Sorry about your horrendous work night last week. Are you recovering well from your injury and post marathon body aches?

Laura- Nice workout. It is helpful to get a run in for mental and physical benefits in our busy lives...

HI Marcia- I hope your (work) evening was uneventful... funny t-shirt

Wendy- nice workout on the TM yesterday :)

Carole- I may have to invest in more bands... I bought some, but they are too short and not appropriate... I hope your long run is comfortable today... What are you gong to do without a football game later to watch? ... DH love to watch Seinfeld reruns on the TM we can hear him laughing out loud when he does!

Barb- How was the swim meet? DD had one y'day too. She doesn't go to many meets outside of High School season.

Hi Cathy- How was that outdoor run? Saturday was our one warmish day and I had and indoor WO planned. It figures...

Cathy- ETL is NOT written by the Body for Life author, all though that book can be helpful to people who are uneducated about nutrition. As well is Pamela Peek, MD's book Body for Life for Women. In fact I have recommended those programs to a friend who just runs and doesn't eat organized meals very often.

ETL = Eat to Live by Joel Furehman, MD His philosophy to is pack your food choices with nutrient dense foods ( mainly fruits and veggies in large quantities) to get maximum health benefits from each meal. any extra weight you have will come off.

Cathy- do you teach at a private school? Your description of the dance is interesting. I feel like my kids are too grown up in some ways; He attends an all boys Jesuit school. Dances there are a big deal because all the girls from everywhere show up....It gets to be a pretty big deal to see all those girls

Today is a rest day and a major family dinner to send off DD to NY tomorrow.

good morning,

judy- yes running definately helps with mental aspect of life.
carole- sounds fun the run that your sister did. I miss the nice weather. It actually was nice here in ohio yesterday but I just looked out th window and today we have snow covering the ground. I was planning on running this morning but I will have to wait until the roads are cleared off.

wendy- I dont know about a rotation yet. I think I would have to post it on the fridge so it would be where I could see it all the time or I would stray from it with all that is going on in life right now but I would love to do it and hope for great results. for now I will try to add at least arms and shldrs every other week or every week. this week I wanted to try jari love since they where new workouts for me. next week I will do arms and shldrs again. I love that workout. I havent done a workout like that ,that has my arms feeling that tight when I am done except for UBP of cathes. I did however p;urchase the fat calipers from beachbody to check my bodyfat . I also have the hand help one but it lists your bodyfat higher I think and if you weight changes it automatically changes your bodyfat. I played around with it and plugged my wt in there at different numbers just to see and everytime I did it there was a different percentage. I think that guage goes by your wt rather than actual fat %. anyway the calipers are only 14.95 so I bought them.

chat with everyone later!

Hi Barb! Hope you enjoy today’s run & can put the hammer to rest…Do the kids have back-to-back meets all three days???…Thanks for the tip on the HRM…That might be the problem…I am not really sure which area I should be wetting as nothing stands out to me on the back of the strap – it’s all black!…I cracked up about the pacemaker comment – I feel the same! I keep adding more gadgets…lol.

Wendy ::: I used to use (and still have) one of those handhelds. Maybe I should dust it off and see what it says. I bought calipers some time ago, but I really have to study up on how to take accurate measurements. It seemed a bit complicated and I didn’t follow through on it.

Carole ::: I did indulge…crab fries, a couple of wings & shrimp, King Crab legs, a hunk of bread, and two Corona Lights…followed by a cannoli. I thought I’d ordered Powerstrike One, but it seems to be Vol. 4. I previewed it, and Ilaria looks like one tough broad! I kind of like when the instructor is no-nonsense. I’m not sure I will like the Gin Millers – she is NOT what I expected! Enjoy today’s run. The Clam Beach run with the Calif. cheetahs next year sounds like a great plan. BTW, are you a bit lost today w/out FB???

Judy ::: thanks for the info on the Choose Living Cardio Coach…I’d seen it mentioned but didn’t know anything about it. I have not really gotten around to trying a downloaded workout yet, but I’d like to…Also thanks for the info on the book…I checked it out, and it’s on my list!! I’m hoping I’ll find it today when I run out in a bit. Does that plan truly deliver fast results?…My run y’day was good…I felt strong even though I’ve been relegated to the TM in the last couple of weeks…I thought it might be a tough one and was pleasantly surprised…I definitely relished the warmer temps!!!…No, I teach at a public school in a fairly affluent area (which is NOT where I live or where I grew up and is not anything like the place where I previously taught…lol). I can imagine female sightings at an all-boys' school would be a big deal. :) Enjoy your rest day & the family dinner. Is DD heading back to college?

OK, off to Target and a few other stops before coming home to do some schoolwork and get in my workout.

Cathy :)

G'mornin' ladies,

glad to hear 20 mins counts...lol

yesterday i registered for a 5k for me and dh (3/31)!! should be fun. i am hoping to get him up and motivated.

today's workout is S & h bi's and tri's. after church i am going to the gym to add on a couple of bi and tri exercises using the cable machine and then take a spin class.

judy- the CC you did sounds awesome. i am sure i will download it eventually.

wendy- i counted the days until my cruise 76!!! hehe. so since i will not be able to finish the entire rotation i am going to start on it as soon as i return from the cruise.

cathy- i too am thinking of making a target stop today. i love me some target:D i want some crab fries....:p }(

carole- enjoy your long run today. are you going to register for any more races?

thanks to all the ladies who answered re: downloading the itrains. i figured it out so i bought two. Iclimb bootcamp and itread indoor marathon training. whoooooooohooooooo, gotta love modern technology.

ttyl....:)

Good Morning Everyone. I totally enjoyed my rest day yesterday. Did some shopping and got two pair of Nike Dri Fit shorts on clearance for 5.00 a peice at the outlets near my house. Made my day.

Today I did my first long run. I did it all on the treadmill because dh is working. The kids were awesome and left me alone as long as I promise to take them to Target. Maybe I will meet you Cathy in the cafeteria. Anyway It was a good 8 miles. Around mile 6.5 my one shoulder started hurting. I must have been hunching it and not realizing it. I'm putting ice on my knee just for precaution. Better safe then sorry. Have a great Sun. Enjoy your run Carol. Hi to all other Cheetah. I can't do personals with the girls chomping at the bit to get to Target. I hope all my cheetahs have awesome Sundays.

Good morning! It's a slow Sunday in Cheetahville so far! I fried my upperbody yesterday with CTX. Today will be the lower body's turn.
I haven't done any concentrated lower body workout since the marathon but I'm definitely feeling ready. It'll be one of the B&G leg premixes... not sure which one yet though. After that will e 30-45 minutes of rowing.

Cathy- Glad you had a good time indulging yourself last night with the crabfries:9 . I have the same problem with HRMs. No matter how I wet them or how tight I place the strap I get horribly inconsistent numbers. I find it very frustrating so I just go by perceived level of exertion now.

Wendy- I haven't purchased any iTrains for a while but your description of the indoor marathon training really sounds good! Especially during the winter ;-) I have been contemplating a PT cert for about a year or so, especially after I have bad nights at work;-) It would be great to combine 2 things I love, nursing and fitness training. About 90% of the patients in ICU are there ultimately because of poor lifestyle choices. It would be nice to work on the prevention side of it for a change.

Barb- Have a great Sunday and best of luck to you and your kids. Glad your DH held up well with the silly putty hammer assault;-)
You are too funny!

Carole- That clam beach run does sound like fun! I envy you California cheetahs for your scenic runs. Have a great long run today and hopefully you'll find something to stave off the football withdrawals.... one week to go to SB!

Judy- Have a great rest day and family dinner! I'm recovering quite well really. Much better than I though I would be at this point. Only one more week and I can start running again :7 :7

Christine- Hope the weather cooperates and you get in a good hike today. I'm glad you can at least walk comfortably now. The main thing to avoid which aggrevates groin injuries is speed work and racing (which I didn't do :( ) BTW, do you find it a challenge puttin on a pair of pants?

Laura- Hope the snow clears enough for you to get in a run today!
If you use calipers to measure BF% they can be quite accurate if done correctly. I went for a Dexa bone scan a couple of months ago.
(It measures bone density for us post menopausal old ladies) Anyway, it also measures BF% as accurately as the old "dunk" method. The figure I got correlated well with the calipers. However my hand held devise read MUCH higher. Just FYI... I think the calipers will give you a pretty good reading.

Okay, enough stalling. I am proud of myself though. I did get my federal tax return done yesterday :7 Now just the state..... maybe next week;-) B&G here I come!

ShellyC

Had to say hi to other cheetahs who were posting...

SunnyD- Congrats on signing up for the 5k, those are such fun! Let me know what you think of the iTrain indoor marathon.

Karen- Great job on your 8 miles!!!! Is that your longest run to date? You're doing pretty darn good! It's an excellent idea to ice any vulnerable areas after a run even if there is no problem!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

My wonderful DD14 was chatting with a friend and downloaded a Trojan virus. So, now, the computer is useless and won’t do anything. Fortunately, both DH and I have our own computers, but I wanted to smack her with the silly putty hammer for not using her brain. Those viruses are SOOO easy to prevent. Fortunately, Barb had the hammer and I was able to contain my frustration. Anyway, today is some cardio. I was going to do a Spinerval at home, but now that I have to take the computer in for repair anyway, I may as well go to the gym (as DH points out – I do pay for the darned place! But it’s just so crowded right now!). Kickboxing is out of the question for the moment because of the groin pull, so it’ll probably be a biking workout as I did not really get too much cycling done yesterday. I did the CC on the elliptical.

Cathy – that dance does sound odd. We hung out in groups, too, and danced occasionally, but mainly talked. It was a social time – not time to run around the gym! I agree with you on the more sheltered, more innocent kids. I think it’s a good thing. Just let me know about the fees. Hope your strange dreams get worked out! Is anything bothering you? I used to dream about dinosaurs (how odd, I know) when I had financial issues. Once I used my old station wagon to whack a T-Rex and rescue my DD from a tree (she was 2 or 3 at the time). Okay, now I am revealing just how weird I am! Oh the bands for chin ups – they are the tubes with the handles and there’s an attached that you shut in the door. So, you simulate a pull up – it’s not the same by any stretch of the imagination, but it does work you the same way.

Barb – Good luck getting in your run! Hope the meets go well!! Glad to hear DH is recovering, but I could have used that hammer this morning! :+

Wendy – I get bored with toys, too, if they don’t work as advertised. My HRM I stick to, but I’m also a numbers junkie.

Carole – enjoy your run! So, how far is the Calm Beach run? Sounds like a great time! Maybe next year we’ll have to join you!

Judy – thanks for the info. I think I’ll download it and do it today for a change of pace….

Sunny – have fun with your iTrains!! Let ME know how you like the iClimb BootCamp!

Karen – WAY TO GO on your 8 mile run!!! I’m impressed that you could do it on a treadmill!!!

Shelly – Actually, putting on pants is okay. It’s really only when I take my normal long strides when I walk that it bothers me. CTX is a real fryer, isn’t it? Have fun frying your lower body today! Good job on the tax return! I’ll bet you’re the first Cheetah finished!

Have a great day ladies!!

Thanks Christine and ShellyC. A good show really helped me get through it. It looks like my long runs may have to be all treadmill for sometime because of the fact that dh may be working a few weekends here soon.

My It Band started to act up right after I posted. I put on my brace and went to Target with it on. I took two ibuprophen and now it seems 100% fine again. I'm so thankful. It had me worried. It feels like nothing is wrong now. It could have been just the length of today's run. I'm hoping that this recovery shows that it was just that.

Sunny :: Nice that you & DH'll be running a 5K together. Now that spring is approaching, I'd like to find another to do, too. Sounds like a good workout you have planned for today. I'm with you on Target - it seems like no matter what I go in there for, I can't get out spending less than $60!!

Karen :: I'm glad the ITB flare-up calmed down again. GREAT deal on the Nike shorts. I was just in Perryville in November (on the way home from Baltimore) and did score a few good deals at Nike.

Shelly :: good going on getting the federal taxes done. It's always a relief to get 'em outta the way. My HRM worked fine for today's workout. Could very well be the interference. I meant to say before that I could easily see you making a great PT also!

Christine :: my dream was way, WAY out there, but it was sort of a nightmare involving evil spirits...*lol*. I won't even try to explain. And I have NO idea what could've prompted that. I'd say I have normal stress levels right now. Sending healing vibes your way so that groin injury disappears. We don't need you to experience what Shelly went through!!

Well, I did Janis Saffell's Hardcore K'box Circuit...it was a 48 min. workout...and I *did* work up a sweat...BUT after being used to Cathe, I wouldn't really say it qualifies as "hardcore." The crescent kick was new to me (it *wasn't* easy!), but overall, it is probably one I'll save for lower-intensity days when I want to k'box in under an hour.

OK, I'm off to shower and knock out just a little bit of schoolwork. I feel like I've had to put in too much time on the weekends lately, and I want to start to back off from that. I see some snowflakes starting to drift steadily outside...Only flurries are expected, but it sure would be loverly to get a snow day tomorrow! }(

Cathy :)

Oops, a double post!

BTW, I'm sure some of you have ordered shoes through zappos.com before, but I just want to say how pleased I am with their service and recommend them to anyone who hasn't. I placed an order yesterday morning for two new pairs of Pumas (casual sneakers), and they were shipped via UPS Overnight the same day (the Overnight shipping is free right now on certain orders!) So, they'll be delivered already tomorrow. Gotta love that!

Ended up taking Judy's advice and downloading the Cardio Coach "Choose Living" workout and was very happy! The spin bike (there is a LONE spin bike available on the floor!) was available, so I did this on that. Judy's right, this one is a good one. I burned lots of calories and really enjoyed the work out. I highly recommend this one - it's very motivational. SO, thanks Judy for the great recommendation!

Cathy - enjoy the flurries - maybe you'll get a snowday out of it! LOL. Amazing what our subconcious comes up with, isn't it?

Judy...this site I got the bands reasonably and they were a 6 ft length.. http://www.fwonline.com/dbcutlong.htm I can also laugh out load with Seinfeld, even when watching a rerun many times! My long run went well and I felt good. Well without football it is out in the yard for raking and yardwork! Enjoy your rest day and I do hope the family dinner send off for your DD goes well...:)

Cathy...Maybe you should visit the West Coast and do Clam beach with us next year!! I tried some of Gin Millers years ago and was not real impressed. Yes Ilaria is quite fit!! Love her body...:)...I was a bit lost without FB, but I need to get used to that. Like I told Judy it was out in the yard after my run...I should be doing a rain dance though as things are quite dry. Boy, do I get in trouble at Target....so have a good time. I agree about Saffells workout. Not nearly as intense as Cathe and her DH's accent cracks me up...:), but those crescents are fun. I have ordered from Zappos, they are fast.

Sunny...congrats on registering for the 5K...I am doing a 10 mile run the 1st Sat in March. Have fun with your iTrain purchases...those are so fun..:)

Karen...way to go with your Nike purchases. Sorry about the shoulder pain. Hope it goes away. Have fun at Target too. Glad you IT band was better with the brace and ibuprofen.

Shelly...enjoy your B&G premix and rowing. Hey, you can come to the coast and do Clam Beach next year too!

Christine...sorry about the Trojan. The Anti-virus didn't pick it up? I used www.techguy.org once to remove a virus from my Mom's PC. No charge, just a donation required, those guys are awesome. So the Elliptical does not bother your groin? Clam Beach has 3 runs, 5.75, 8.75 and a half marathon. It is pretty as it goes along the coast, but very hilly.

The 12 mile run went well. Very nice weather and I know I've lost a bit of weight so I was already running better.

Came home and ate, then outside to rake some leaves, now I am wiped out....

Carole - the elliptical I used has a very short stride, so it does not bother me. A spin bike does not either, but a recumbent does - go figure. I'm feeling a lot better today, but I'm going to take Shelly's advice and not do high impact for a bit, just incase. We ended up taking the computer in the Best Buy where we bought it and they will remove it for plenty of $$$. The problem with this trojan is that it would allow me to go to any web site that had anything to do with virus protection. Kind of ingenious if you think about it - wish the kid would use his genius for something else!

hello,

Just finished walking/running on the treadmill for an hr and also 10 minutes on the elliptical. Iwas being lazy so I didnt run as much tonight, mostly walking on the treadmill. I never walk on my treadmill but I just wasnt in the mood to run tonight. I have been feeling really down about my body lately. I am the heaviest I have been in almost 3yrs and it seems that nothing is working. I have made a effort to clean my eating up. Its not 100% but I havent been eating out as much the last few weeks and have cut alot of junk out. I has only been a couple of weeks but my stomach is so puffy. I thought it was because of muscle mass I might be adding but I am probably fooling myself. I put a pair of fitted capris on today and my hips looked wide in them. Also I can tell with teaching class that my strength and power doing things has gotten way better but my endurance has suffered. we do short segments of cardio 3-5minutes and I dont know if that has hindered my endurance or not. I have noticed this with my runs sometimes I feel so tired to run 5 miles and other times I can run them and feel great but before, last spring I felt awesome with my runs, could go on an on. Now I can run a short distance fast but then I am huffing if I sustain it too long. I am getting closer to my 40's and dont know if my body is going thru a change but it seems that with everything I do, I am not reaping any results or they are little. I am sorry to sound down but it really is bugging me and I dont know what to do about it. I wont give up and most days i can work myself thru it but other days it just gets to me. I also feel as an instructor that I need and should be in great shape as a role model for my class. has any of you gone thru where your body just got stubborn no matter what you did and what and how did you get it to respond?

on another note, I am surprised that I am not sore from ripped to the core. that was the first time I did it yesterday and I am not sore at all. I am hoping when I get the calipers that it will show me some progress.

I am debating on ordering the fluidity set but wanted to wait and see if some of the people get good results with it. My friend like hers but isnt consistant with it and I dont want to waste my money. can you do the exercises without ordering that bar?

talk with you all later!!

{{{Laura}}} Yeah, I've been through that - I live that yearly about this time of year. For me it changes when the days get longer and spring approaches. I'm not good in winter. Hope you figure out what the cause is for you - just out of curiosity - are you in your mid to late 30's? If so, that's the time our bodies really start to change and seem to want to hold onto weight more.
