Good morning, cheetahs :)

My plan today is to work out early (since it seems I "crash" in the afternoon) and then deal with lesson plans and (grad) school work later.

Not much to catch up with from last night except:

Wendy :: sounds good! I don't believe either of those two hotels has a bar, but there are plenty of other options close by. }( In terms of shopping, I find our malls a little disappointing these days, but it may just be me -- I have trouble finding clothes anywhere anymore! Here is a link to the two closest: http://www.deptfordmall.com/ (this is around the corner from your hotel) and http://www.cherryhillmall.com/ (about 15 minutes away). There is also the Promenade http://www.thepromenadenj.com/storedirectory.asp, some higher-end shopping that's blown up in the last couple of years...I'm up for whatever you want to do.

Enjoy your Sunday~
Cathy :)

Hello, Cheetahs!!!

Good morning, Cheetahs! :) My name is Heather. I am a Cheetah wannabe. I am definitely not a fast Cheetah. I am more of a fat Cheetah. ;-) LOL! :7 That is all about to change. I started 2007 with 3 fitness dreams for the year: to shed 100 pounds, to attend my first Cathe Road Trip, and to start running. The first two are already happening. :7 It is time to get moving with the third one. I bought some Ryka water running shoes so I can start running in the pool at the club to protect my joints until I get closer to my goal weight. I am 50 pounds below my top weight but still 80 pounds above my goal weight. (I have dropped 20 of those pounds so far in 2007.)

I just finished my first 12-week Cathe rotation for 2007. Actually, it was the first time I endured 12 weeks of all-Cathe workouts without a break. I think 6-8 weeks was my limit last year. I am planning to enjoy an active recovery week this week. I may take a rest week the first week in April then start a new 12-week Cathe rotation on Easter. My body needs cardio, cardio, and more cardio to shed fat. Circuit training is very effective for me too. I am pondering the possibility of doing my Cathe workouts in morning and going to the club after work to run in the pool.

I have flirted with outdoor running in the past and know it is something I will love when I am lighter on my feet. I do not enjoy walking or running on a treadmill. My favorite place to run/walk is the trail by the lake at sunrise or sunset. I am very visual and love water, beaches, and wildflowers. :) If a cute guy wants to stand by the treadmill and entertain me, I might change my mind about indoor running! ;-) Otherwise, I will be an outdoor running girl all the way. :)

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I have been communicating with Cathy privately for a few weeks, and I know Carole, Susan, Gayle, Sunny, and Wendy from other check-ins (past and present). I am a morning exerciser but usually check-in at night (during the week) to wrap up my day. I will do my best to keep up with personals, but you may need to peek back at the previous day’s thread to find them if I post at night.

Have a blessed Sunday! :)

Blessings,
Heather B.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1 NIV).

RE: Hello, Cheetahs!!!

Good Morning Cheetahs.

Oy, I am sooooooo tired! A friend of mine came over last night for a visit. I ended up not thinking and was drinking caffeinated coffee with her at 9pm!   I didn't go to bed until 1 am but that's not the bad part! The BAD part is that I didn't fall asleep until AFTER 4am and was up at 7! I have my waxing appointmnet this morning so there is no sleeping in for me. :-( Needless to say I am now mainlining coffee to try to wake up!

Cathy, I will check out the malls but it makes no difference to me where we go. If we have the time and determination we can hit all three!}( }( }( I don't want to drag you around somewhere that will be useless for you though. We don't even have to shop at all if you don't want to....I really don't mind. Do you still want to look in to a pass for Cathe's gym as well?

Heather, Hey Cheetah wanna be!:+ I had no idea you want to be a runner some day. That is very cool! I know you will do it! You are more then welcome here...the ladies here are full of great advice and encouragement for ANY level of Cheetah!:)

Well, I have no idea what if any work out will get done today. In addition to my appointment, I am also supposed to meet a friend at Barnes and Noble for MORE COFFEE tonight (don't worry, I'll be ordering DECAF!!!LOL) and I need to give Joey a bath and do housework in between. So time and energy could be an issue for me today. I was wanting to do a leg burner but it may just not happen....I'll have to see. I hoping to re-start the X tomorrow!}(

I'll be back!

RE: Hello, Cheetahs!!!

Heather :: welcome & congrats on all you have accomplished so far!! :) We're always happy to get new cheetahs on board. Everyone (unless really pressed for time) checks the previous night's threads, so don't worry, we won't miss your posts! :) Just be prepared for some serious ENABLING here and some totally HARD-CORE workouts. These women are nuts! In a good way. *lol* :)

Wendy :: ack! Sorry about you being up all night! Maybe you can squeeze in a nap today...Absolutely ~ I'm up for the day pass...I like to eat and shop and especially eat :) so that works for me. You won't be draggin' me around - I'm just deferring to your wishes since you're a guest down here in these lowly parts of Jersey. :)

~Cathy :)

G'morning Cheetahs!!

Cathy ~ Sorry about the tiredness from meds. That's no fun! I hope you have some energy today & can get in a good workout!

Wendy ~ You're gonna be tired today, chickie!! Enjoy your waxing, is that possible??? }( Cool that you booked a room w/ the RT'ers. That sounds like so much fun!

Heather ~ Welcome to the Cheetahs. I've read your posts on the open forum before. Congrats on your weight loss so far & good luck w/ your goals. A little about me, I'm Jess, mom to 3 wonderful girls. I was one of those that was overweight for most of my life, I was the *chubby* one growing up & then once I hit puberty continued to gain weight. I was 185 lbs on my wedding day at age 19 & not happy w/ how I looked. I lost weight on & off & managed to gain too much while pg & lose the weight but was still overweight to start with. Until 3 years ago when when my youngest was about 8 mos old and I was still fat. Then I got serious & started the South Beach diet & was just walking on my treadmill. Then I added in Winsor Pilates & managed to lose the rest of the weight I wanted & got down to the thinnest I'd been since Junior high! And since then I've added in running & Cathe workouts. I haven't lost much weight (I'm at a good weight for my height at 5'7"), but have gained a lot of muscle & changed the shape of my body.

As for beginning to run, believe me I never thought I would be a runner. My motto used to be only run when chased... :p But as I lost weight I wanted to be more fit & decided running was the way to go. I signed up for my first 5K 2 years ago in June and was scared to death. Then I was hooked on races!!!! I ran my first half marathon that year & ran another half & my first full marathon last year. I'm hoping to do a half this year, but am dealing w/ some tendonitis. You're being smart by pool running, my Dr. highly recommends it. I'm also training for my first triathlon in June. OK, that's it for me.

Good morning to everyone else! Have a blessed Sunday!

Well, I did BC cardio & lower body premix & abs. Sundays are usually my rest days, but I just felt the need to do something! I might go for a bike ride this afternoon, I wanted to y'day but it was raining/ lightning on & off & didn't want to chance getting stuck out in the rain.

Church today, it's our missions conference & then a catered meal. I'm sure there will be some yummy stuff there, I'll stick to the healthy choices. ;-)

OK, gotta go shower & get everyone ready!

Hi, ladies. I haven't read yesterday's posts yet. I'll do that later when I get a chance. I hope all is well with you all! Our day away yesterday with friends was great! Good company, good activity, good food. ALL OF IT AWESOME!

Today....just a nice quiet, relaxing day with family. My parents, DFiance and his kids are all coming over to spend a quiet day together. I think I'm making dinner too.

I was up early for my long run. This morning was a scheduled 10. I did 4.5 on my own with music, then turned on an iTread workout. I ended up at 10.5 miles for the day. I felt GREAT!!!! I am SO ready for next month's half. I just need to keep my food in check and I'll do fine!

Heather-WELCOME to the Cheetahs! Some fascinating and motivating women here. You're guaranteed to get the suggestions, advice and support you need. Start nice and slow! Congrats on finishing up your first Cathe rotation! That's an awesome start! I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

HI TO EVERYBODY ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to go cook breakfast!

Gayle

ETA! OK...I quickly read yesterday's posts. I'm staying at the Fairfield, like Wendy. Get a room there and we'll all be together. My gym days from high school were all positive, but this 100+ person road trip puts me back into my shell too. NO PROBLEMS! We'll have a BLAST!

Christine! Those pups are TOO CUTE! I want one!

SHELLY! LIGHTNING FAST CHEETAH! Your time yesterday was great! CONGRATS and Happy Birthday!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..sorry about your exhausted day yesterday. I hope when these meds run out you will be feeling better. So what workout will you do today?

Heather...Welcome! I am glad you decided to check in here. I have always felt circuits are effective for weight loss. Congrats on finishing the Cathe 12 week rotation. I feel just the same as you about outdoor running. Trails here are especially scenic. I am usually here at night but I don't normally post, I just catch up!

Wendy...Glad you felt good enough for an LIC premix yesterday. Sorry about your caffeinated insomnia! So you are not feeling you could sleep thru waxing?...:)...I hope you get all your stuff done today..

So I am going to do a 6 mile trail run today. The pain in my ham/glute has been subsiding every day...:). How I would love to go farther, but I know it isn't smart. I'll use the foam roller before and probably after the run.

Have a great day...:)

Shelly :: Oops! I forgot...happy birthday!! Hope you enjoy your day!! You gotta still be ridin' high after yesterday's kick-butt race!

Gayle :: good job on the 10.5. Enjoy your quiet Sunday.

Jess :: wow! I didn't realize you married at 19...I know you don't watch much TV, but there's a documentary show on MTV called Engaged & Underage, and I get sucked right into it. Though I know I never would have been ready for marriage at that age, I do see the advantages to being a young mom. Great story of your road to fitness.

Carole :: I am about to head out for a run - probably something light and easy like two miles. And then I'm going to tackle L&B and try to get in some yoga - probably not Yoga X but maybe part of Rodney Yee's Yoga Burn, which arrived this week.

All right, I gotta get moving...BBL.

~Cathy :)

Those who indulge...bulge!

Gayle..good job on the 10.5 miles!

Shelly...http://www.cybergifs.com/birthday/bdheader.gif[/img]

Cathy...sounds like a nice workout. I have not done Yoga lately...but I have stretched more.

Hey there Cheetah babes !

I’m so jealous of listening to all of this road trip talk! I just can’t go this year because we’ll be in North Carolina visiting my dad and sister who will be in from the UK. But I do hope everyone has the experience of a life time! Today is tight! I have to get in grocery shopping (no cooking for the week this week!), then hopefully I’ll get in a workout (not sure what, though), and then it’s off at noon to head for puppy land. DH is really having mixed emotions, so I really need to stay strong and realize that if I force a puppy on him, it won’t be a good thing. I’m hoping the little buggers simply captivate him, but who knows.

Shelly! Hope you have a birthday as intriguing, exciting and wonderful as you are!!! http://animations.fg-a.com/birthd_003sm2.gif

Cathy- I’m with you - I need to workout in the AM or I’m toast by mid-afternoon! Have fun with you school work. And I complain about working a lot… I work nothing compared to you!

Heather - welcome! We have speedy Cheetahs, slow-poke Cheetahs, sleek Cheetahs, pudgy Cheetahs and everything in between. If you have the desire to run, you’re welcome here! And we even have Cheetah’s who don’t run too much any more, like me. So we’re happy to have you here.

Wendy- Another busy Cheetah!! Have fun - sounds like another fun day for you, though!

Jess- How’s your sick Cheetah cub? Ihope she’s feeling better today! Sounds like a great workout you had!

Gayle - Sounds like you have a great day planned! I’m happy to hear you’re feeling strong and ready to go!

Carole - oh, enjoy your trail run!! I’m so glad to hear that your pain is subsiding. I have my fingers crossed that this is your best run yet!

Good morning cheetahs! I'm feeling mighty fine this morning, no soreness at all despite racing VERY hard yesterday. Today I'm hitting the half century mark:eek: I gotta tell ya, I feel better today than I ever did at age 25:)

I'm going to book a room at the Fairfield today. I figure that between Wendy, Gayle and me we'll fit in all the cheetahs comfortably. This will be BEYOND fantastic :7

I received my BBCs yesterday also! So today I'll be breaking them in.... not sure yet which I'll start with. Than it'll be a 40 minute iClimb on the elliptical:7

I'm going to book a room, and then I'll be back for personals:7

ShellyC

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 PERSONALS :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

Hiya! I'm back and I just finished booking a room at the Fairfield Inn. DH also woke up and gave me a big birthday smoochie:* So I'm starting the day off right!

Christine-
"Shelly! Hope you have a birthday as intriguing, exciting and wonderful as you are!!!"
AW- that has GOT to be the sweetest thing anyone has ever told me!!
Ya got my eyes misting here! Your aussie puppy pictures are ADORABLE. DH was here while I was looking at it, he is definitely intrigued!! I'd be willing to bet my left foot that your DH will absolutely melt when he sees these two today. I believe the timing is just fine for getting a puppy now. It will be therapeutic for both of you!!!

Wendy- You're going to be one very tired cheetah today!!! I tried to get in a workout yesterday afternoon ( you know how crazy I am!)
I was plumb out of gas.... just couldn't do it! So I know how you're feeling. I am SO excited also that A- you'll be able to
(probably) join me in June for the Sheehan classic and maybe the pinebeach5k!!!!! and B- You're willing to take up my offer to go to a class in my place during the RT. I received a reply from Kathy S, one of the coordinators. She said she thought it would be okay but wanted to check with Cathe first. Sounds promising!!!!!!

Cathy- My heart is breaking for you over this fatigue side effect:-(
I hope you'll be finished with this medication by June, and you can join me at the PineBeach5k!!!! I don't think you're into racing but hopefully I can enable you into trying}(

SunnyD- Okay, put me on the list of people anxious to hear about your strip tease aerobics class. Your gym sounds like an interesting place!!!

Carole- Thanks for the congrats yesterday! A trail run for you today? I know how much you love those!!! I'm betting it'll feel fine for you. I got the hotel room so I'm guessing that it'll be (at this point) You, me, Wendy, and Susan between 2 rooms. I can always cancel the reservation if things change so we have time to iron out details.

Heather. Welcome to cheetahville!!!! We are so happy to have you!
I've enjoyed reading your posts elsewhere, you have so much wit :)
I thought I would be stuck forever about 30 lbs overweight until I took up A: "Eat to Live" principles in my diet and B: RUNNING!!!
You're on the right track! A wonderful way to get into outdoor running is the C25K program at www.coolrunning.com. That stands for Couch to 5k (A race that is 3.1 miles long) Again, WELCOME! Also
I look forward tremendously to meeting you on the Roadtrip!! I don't post elsewhere too often but I'm going to make more of an effort to do that now.

Jess- Great to hear from ya!!! How is the tendonitis? Are you still going to try for the Half Marathon in May? Hope you get in your bikeride today!

Gayle- Thank you so much for your congrats on my race yesterday!
I gotta tell ya.... This race course was a FAST one. If you had been doing it you'd have paddled my butt and left me in the dust, I have no doubt about that whatsoever! I still can't get over your
performance in the "ordeal by ice" 10k!!! I would never have been able to do that! Great job on your long TM run today. I don't know how you manage to do these on a TM!!! Awsome!

I think I've caught up now.... Hi to all who follow. Time to go break in my BBCs, then it's housecleaning:-( We're having family and friends over for an authentic Italian dinner (lasagna) made by an authentic Italian-american (DH)!

ShellyC

Good morning Cheetahs!

You ladies are going to have so much fun! Really sorry I didn't get in. Hopefully Cathe will make this an annual event.

Carole - DBF and I did make it out to dinner. We tried a new restaurant called Erling Jensen's and it was fantastic. I had a Mesclun salad and halibut on snowcrab legs in this wonderful sauce. Had to bring half of it home. The bread and butter was to die for. The chef would send out these little minature treats between courses. Didn't have room for dessert though. Hope you had a good run.

Susan - How was the movie and dinner? Love On the Border.

Shelly - Congratulations on your 10K. What an awesome time!! YIPPEE. What a pace! You are an inspiration girl! Hope you have a HAPPY BIRTHDY!! Any special plans.

Christine - Those pups are so adorable. I really love that one on the left (Moose).

Cathe - Sorry you're feeling so tired. Maybe it's a combination of both the meds and the bloodwork. Did you get a workout in today?

Heather - Welcome! Congrats on what you've accomplished so far. When I first started running, I didn't think I would ever be able to do 3 miles. Now, it's not a problem. These are some great ladies here with great advice and tips. I mix the running up as long as the weather is good.

Wendy - Hope you can sneak a nap in today. I would be zonked with so little sleep. Are you feeling better?

Jess - Glad you enjoyed your workout. Sounds like you have a busy day ahead.

Gayle - Great job on the run! Enjoy your day with the family.

Rest day for me! The weather is beautiful. It's supposed to hit 85 and that would be a record.

Enjoy your Sunday ladies!

Jackie

Good morning ladies,
I am a little sluggish this morning. I think it is from the margarita and the burrito and the HUGE blondie brownie I had last night. I had so much fun with my girlfriends and the movie was GREAT! I would totally recommend it. Adam Sandler is so good and again, I am not usually an Adam Sandler fan.

I thought I would be sore this morning from ME, but I am not. I enjoyed it though. My glute has been acting up the last couple of days for some reason. I have been a good girl though with listeneing to my body.

Today, my hubby and I are going to go for a walk downtown and we will get some coffee/tea at a little cafe. We have a babysitter coming. The girls love it when we go out. We both find that we have a much better week when we can connect on the weekend with a little time to ourselves.

Cathy, How are you feeling today? I hope you can get a good workout in:) Thank you for the help with the airport pickup. That is so nice of you:)

Heather, WELCOME to cheetahville. You are always so insightful and such a delight. That is great about wanting to start running and I think the plan with water running is great. So excited about meeting you on the roadtrip:)

Wendy, you are definitley a tired little cheetah this morning. I find as I have gotten older I have to get my sleep. Drink lots of coffee and maybe do DRILLMAX that would wake you up}( How is the cold today?

Jess, I love that workout! It is quick and definitley effective. Have fun at church today.

Gayle, you are right up there with the carole and Shelly workouts. You get a LOT in in the morning. You are really training hard for your half. BTW, I am so excited that we are all in the same hotel now. I am looking forward to meeting you.

CArole, good luck with the run today. It looks like Shelly booked the room, so we are all set, YAY!!!! Now, I just have to make sure that this dang back and glute are ready to go.

Christine, Those puppies are SOOOOOOOO cute. I want one, but don't think Katie would approve. I hope it works out for you guys today. I think one look at that precious little face and your hubby will fall in love. Let us know what happens.

Shelly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Great job on the run yesterday. You are defintiley have fast cheetah. I am glad you have no DOMS today. Thank you so much for booking the room at the fairfield. It looks like we are all set:)

Jackie, the movie was great and so was On the Border. I had the Borderurrito. It is this HUGE burrito with a sourcream sauce in it. It was heaven. I have never met a burrito I did not like;-) Have a great day today!

Well ladies that is it for me. I am off to have my tea and get ready for my walk with hubby.

Cheers!

Susan

Christine :: to me, it sounds like everyone here leads busy lives whether it’s shuttling the kids off to practices, working overtime/multiple jobs, cleaning house, working out, or all of the above! I love how that little Moose is licking his lips in that shot – you just wanna grab ‘im up and squeeze that little guy. I can see why DH would have mixed feelings, but I’m kinda hoping you guys decide to bring one of ‘em home sooner rather than later.

Shelly :: have fun with your new BBCs!! I am really chomping at the bit to order those…thanks re: my energy slump…I hope I can snap out of it soon! Actually, I used to be an avid racer…then I went on a hiatus from running & working out and packed on some pounds over a number of years…I just got back on the fitness wagon last January and have been focused mainly on reaching my goal weight -- slowly but surely…In terms of racing, for the time being, I’m just into a recreational 5K now and then. Eventually, I do plan to resume more frequent racing. No doubt, I’ll be up for the Pinelands 5K. Enjoy tonight’s dinner! Hope you're getting totally spoiled on your b-day!

Jackie :: sounds like a fabulous dinner experience! I did a 2 mile run/walk and will knock out L&B shortly. 85 degrees!? Holy moly!! You are in Tennessee, right?

Susan :: sounds like YOU had a great time, too! Suddenly I’m craving some kind of heinous dessert!! I’m feeling well-rested today. I’m ready to bring it to L&B!!! :) Enjoy your walk with DH…I think it’s nice that you two are able to take time for just the two of you – seems healthy to me.

-Cathy :)

Shelly – You deserve it! You’re such an inspirtation here on the boards! Hope it’s a very happy birthday for you… Do I see a possible Aussie puppy in your future? :p

Jackie – I think the whole family is leaning towards Moose – we just love his name, too. But, we don’t get to choose which one we get. I don’t know how that’s going to work. We’ll see. Enjoy your rest day!

Susan – Oh, I’m so glad you had a great time! I’ve heard good reviews of that movie. Enjoy your walk – I think time with hubby is so important. A good solid marriage helps makes good solid children. You can come visit the puppy whenever you want. And bring your girls – I always socialize my dogs to be very safe around kids. We have some neighbors with toddlers and they could sit and chat with us knowing that Tuck would gently herd the kids back to the garage if they wandered too far. It was so cute to watch. He just loved kids. Here I go again – sorry.

Cathy - We were posting at the same time! Yeah, you're right - we're all busy and running around! I guess that's just life - eh? I think that's what gets me about that photo - the little tongue hanging out like he was really concentrating on getting that chicken. Or licking his chops in anticipation of a great meal. Something about him makes me think he's just filled with personality.

Okay I’m off to do something – probably the cardio and weights premix of Body Max 2 – I ended up doing Body Max 1 yesterday, but only the step and power segment – not the upper body. I think Body Max 1 step is actually more intense. The power segments are tougher on Body Max 2.

Christine...thanks, it really was a great run!! Could have done without the not intended BA though...:)...you know my wish was that all of us cheetahs could be at the Road Trip, so maybe next time. We will have to call you on your B-Day! Don't ever be sorry about puppy pics! Moose is adorable...:)

Shelly...you do 50 very well and I will be there in 2 years! Congrats on getting the BBC's. If you want some very NICE eye candy, try Shoulders and Back...yum...Thanks for booking the room. This will be so darn fun!! Can't wait to meet some more cheetahs...:) ..Enjoy your lasagna.

Jackie...your dinner with DBF sounds delicious. Bread and butter can really get you and is quite tasty most times! Enjoy your rest day.

Susan..so glad you had a good time last night. Enjoy your walk and time with DH. Yes Shelly booked the room so all we can do now is wait...:)

The 6 mile trail run went well. On the way back a nice looking german shepherd decided to chase us (there are people camping along this trail sometimes) so as an animal lover I turned back to pet him and say HI. Well HI was all I got out as when I turned to pet him he bolted away....what a chicken!....I was laughing so hard I about fell...:)

Cathy-I so badly want Yoga Burn. I'm working hard to get to goal weight so I can reward myself with it. I've got Yees' Total Body Power Yoga on tap for tomorrow!

Shelly-LOL, on the "ordeal by ice". That's worth a good chuckle on the name! And, you're too kind, really. I think you did a great job yesterday! Enjoy your day!

Susan-you put me in the same category as Carole and Shelly? WOW! Thanks! I have to get my workouts in in the early AM. I have a pretty good wake-up routine that allows me to wake up enough to pop in my contacts, wake up completely, and hydrate a bit before starting my workouts! THANKS for the compliment!

Ok....enjoying some homemade Classic Beef Stew for lunch. Mom is heading over here with a roast, so it's roast beef, potatoes, carrots and onions with a salad for dinner. I'm really looking forward to it!!!!!!!!

Later, Gators!

Gayle
