Cathlete
Hello dearest cheetahs,

today i am going to do AOS providence and a 30 min run!

christine- sorry to hear about your accident. i hope your hand is alright. yay, glad dh will be home soon.

jackie- your mother is in my prayers. sending healing ((((vibes)))) to your mom.

shelly- glad you are feeling normal again. moving is very stressful. i can relate. when we moved to nc from nj it was very stressful and scary. however since being here it's been very positive. so much in fact i know the next time we relocate i will be looking forward to the next adventure. hang in there, you are doing a great job and i am sure dh understands.

carole- it just stinks you are still struggling with injuries. i hope you did find the culprit and will be able to run again without any pain.

wendy- i will bet you put together a really good, yet fun rotation.

cathey- nice to hear from you. i hope all is going well and the crud leaves you alone.

dallas- did you enjoy your workout yesterday?

wendi- have you checked out the latest at itrain? i am so very disappointed in not only the selections but also the new prices...;o(

today is my biggest looser teams first fitness challenge. we are doing tug of war, wheel barrel race and a potato sack race. should be alot of fun!

have a great day ladies:)

Good morning Cheetah babes!

Another fly by for me right now. I *should* be able to get back here in a couple of hours. I have to go in to work to muck stalls/barn chores before DSO and I head out for the second half of that bowling tourney. Even though our other two teammates struggled a bit last week we still ended up 9th (of 78) in the team event...could cash, although not much. That tells me *no one* was shooting big numbers last week. Hopefully that trend continues for everyone else (except me and DSO :p) this weekend.

Oh, I did HSC this morning. TTFN!

Good Morning Cheetah Pals!:)

Sunny: I am hoping the rotation I created will keep boredom at bay since every week is different and I have given myself the liberty to pick what I will do week to week. I need a less rigid schedule before tackling NROL or I may not get through it. My first X rotation is the longest rotation I ever stuck with. 6 months is a loooong time!

Wendi: Good luck with your tourny! DH didn't bowl well at the nationals but he still had a good time. Sorry you have muck detail this morning. Sounds a little gross to me! LOL

I have left today wide open for any work out I choose to do. Ofcourse it has to work in between what I did y'day and my plan for tomorrow but I still have lotsa choices. DH and DS are leaving at about 9am this morning to head north to my inlaws. DH has to help his dad with something and DS is going to spend the night with my MIL so that DH and I can do the anniversary thing this evening. That means that I have the day ALL TO MY SELF!!!! *does happy dance around the room*

That being said, I gotta get moving here. Have to get DS up and ready to go. I still have to pack a bag for him too.

I'll BBIAB though. :)

Good morning cheetahs

Sunny...IA it does stink to have injuries!! I hope going back to my old running form will get rid of the injuries I have...your biggest looser challenge sounds fun, let us know how it went.

Wendi...good job with HSC. Hope the rest of the bowling goes well.

Wendy...that sounds like a fun type of rotation. Pita Chips and salsa would be right up my alley! How nice you have a day to yourself...Have an awesome evening with DH..http://www.emotihost.com/glass19/2.gif[/img]

Lori...I know you don't like the snow, but I'd love to have some of yours!! Glad to hear your lungs are doing better after the meds. My hip started bugging me in early Dec, and then a few knee tweaks in the last month, then my right knee especially sore when I run. I tried a new running form and think that could be what did it...

Jackie..my thoughts and prayers for you Mom. You are so right about no rest at a hospital. I hope she is feeling better soon.

Shelly...I bet that was such a relief to get the talk over with your boss. She sounds like a very good person...:)...I hope the property works out for you! I really thought the Chi running would work for me. And it seemed to for awhile. I know the Pain Free author said something about never running any other way than heel to toe and of course Chi is more midstrike landing for running. Congrats on getting the China Study. The vegetarian transition was easy for me, but that is NOT always true, so I would be HAPPY to help you in any way I can. My DH is not completely vegetarian so it can work for both of you if Jerry does not want to go that way totally.

Dallas...I am hoping to know what is going on with my body! Sometimes I feel it is trial and error...:)...Sounds like a very tasty salad...:)

Christine..glad to hear DH will be home soon. I am so sorry about the KB accident. Hope your finger is okay...let us know how the DR appt went.

Cathy..so sorry about the crud taking over...I hope you can get in some well deserved rest this weekend...

I am planning on a KPC/L&G premix today, probably the circuit one...I have had fun with circuits this week...

Have a great day...:)

okay, i am DETERMINED to read the posts from the past couple of days and get caught up. it is supposed to strom pretty badly today, so i will probably be staying in. we had a tornado hit downtown (it hit the dome during the ncaa basketball finals!) and aare supposed to have more severe weather coming in round 11. so, i am planning on not leaving the house any time soon. i started feeling like i was getting the crud yesterday night (i was achy, coughy, stuffy, etc) but am feeling better today. just a bit cruddy. so, i think i will take a rest day. i haven't taken one in three weeks (but i also haven't felt the need to). i just hate taking one on a weekend when i can work out as long as i'd like. maybe i'll just do some lifting. we'll see.

of course, i should take advantage of the fact that i am staying in and work on my dissertation, but i'm sure that won't happen. i feel LAZY!

anyway, i am going to try and read everything and be back. MWAH to all the fabulous cheetah women!!!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/11/11_7_100.gif

Good morning to the fabulous cheetahs!!! Yesterday was nice in that DH and I stayed home and got alot of work done:7 I felt pretty good and energized and got in good workouts with 4DSKB/legs and the EXT. I also took the plunge and told my family (parents and twin sister) here that I am moving. I have to admit though I took the chicken route and e-mailed them. I was planning on dropping by and telling them in person but I knew I would choke up and not say everything I wanted to. My twinsis e-mailed back last nite and was her usual sweet understanding self (she's not like me!) My Dad is like my DH----uber easygoing but it's my Mother's response I am dreading and I haven't heard from her yet:( She IS like me!
We are securing a moving quote today. We're using a company that delivers a trailer and you pack it yourself.
Okay enough boring babble about my moving. Thanks to all of you for being so patient and listening to me moan!!!!!!!!!

Lorie- I was watching clips of the tornado damage in Atlanta this morning and thought of you! Good idea to stay indoors. My goodness... you are way overdue for a rest day!!!

Carole- I was reading more of the China Study last night and am even more deterined to go totally veggie--- after I move! Actually it wont be too difficult cuz I pretty much already eat very little meat and have been slowly adjusting Jerry to that fact. He's stopped exclaiming when I take a tiny bit of meat with my HUGE salad! One problem I will have though is cheese! I would like to at least cut back on dairy products-- can you recommend any substitute? This will be hard as I am an admitted cheesaholic! Re: the footstrike with Chi running.... it all comes back I think to doing what the body was naturally meant to do.... i.e. heel/toe!

Wendi- Best of luck to you with your bowling tourney!!!

SunnyD- Your fitness challenge does sound like fun!! Thank you so much for your supportive words!!

Cathy- I KNEW I forgot somebody yesterday!!! Thinking of you of course and how uber busy you are!!! I truly hope you can find some time this summer for a GTG at Cathe's gym with me!!!

Christine- How's the finger this morning? poor thing.... you didn't need this to happen!! Glad you did decide to see a doc about it though. Counting the hours now before DH gets home?

Wendy- HAPPY ANNIVERSARY:+ :+ :7 :7 :7 :7 #5 is a BIG milestone!!
Sounds like you have nice plans. How nice that you have the place to yourself for the day and a nice variety of fun workouts to choose from. Sounds like a perfect day to me!

Dallas- Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words yesterday! Did you get some cool Easter baskets? Whats the workout plans today?

GOOD LUCK KRISTI on your 10k!!! Have fun!

Hi Judy, Linda, Jackie, Lori, Thomasina!

For today it'll be more fun with 4DS--- probably BC/BiTri and HIS/C&B.

ShellyC

Carole: Please come take the pita chips and salsa away from me! I was eating it at 10:30 this morning!!!! UGH! Thanks for the anniversary wishes!

Lorie: So where are those personals you promised us? ;)

Shelly: So glad you are getting alot done. I'm glad your sis didn't upset you with her response to the email you sent out. Try not to let you mother get to you. Remember, if she takes it hard, it's only cause you are her daughter and she loves you and will miss you!:+ Have fun with 4DS! Thanks for the anniversary wishes!

So my morning so far has been a waste. I am alone and can do anything I want and all I've done so far is play on the PC, eat and take a short nap. x( The only work out that sounds even minimally appealing to me right now is a run so I will hit the gym this afternoon after I drop my dog at the groomer's. My mood is obviously off right now. Hopefully the run will cure it!

BBL!

I'm back from the gym. I didn't go as long/far as I had hoped but it was a hilly 2.5 mile run and it worked me so I'm satisfied. TECHNICALLY today was supposed to be a rest day but we went out to dinner last night, are going out again tonight and are having dinner at MIL's tomorrow...I NEED THE EXTRA CARDIO!!!!}( :9 }( :9 LOL

Happy to say the exercise definatley improved my mood.

Hate to cut it short and but I gotta jump in the shower now.

BBL!

Hi there, Lovely Cheetahs! I just got back into town last night. I feel so out of touch with everything and everyone. I hope everyone is doing well!

Wendy - don't feel bad about eating the pita chips and salsa at 10:00 a.m! At least they are healthy! I was eating a Dark chocolate Snicker's bar at 10:00 a.m.! :+ I justified it by telling myself that it was an energy bar...after my weights and before my run! ;-) enjoy your "free day!"

Shelly - I'll bet it was a relief to get the e-mail sent. I am sure that telling everyone is tough! So....when are you moving? Are you getting excited?

Carole- I am sorry about your knee! I got the book Chi Running, but haven't read it yet. Maybe I shouldn't! I got it to try to help my hip pain. I hope your knee lets up and doesn't act up again!! I have read a few places about doing the mid-foot strike, instead of heal-toe. I had always done heal-toe. Lately....I don't know what to do!!! x(

Lorie - I was in Atlanta yesterday! We flew into there to catch our connecting flight from Vegas to Charleston....but we took off at 3:30. I heard your tornado hit at around 9:00 p.m.? Did you see or hear anything? I am glad you are okay!

Wendi - Good luck in the tournament!!!

Sunny - Have fun with your Biggest Loser Challenge! That sounds like fun!

Christine - Oh my goodness!!! I hope your finger is okay! I "still" have not done an official KB workout!! I just use them for "functional" fitness type exercises. :+ I have always been afraid of them....now I am "really" askeerd!!! (JK!) But I hope you are okay!

I was in Vegas from the 7th until yesterday for business (and some pleasure). But I am so glad to be home. I have been there too much lately and it kind of gets old after a while:-(

I just ran down the strip all week. That is all I did....no weights or anything.

This morning was a 5 mile run and all of Gilad's Quick Fit weights.

Hi to everyone! I have missed you guys!

Linda

Hello Cheetahs!

This will be a quick race report. My inlaws are here visiting. My morning began at 4:45 a.m. I had to drive 1 1/2 hours to Louisville for my race. When I got there at 6:30, I picked up my race packet and then wasted time until 7:45 when I started out toward the starting line. My goal for today's 10K was to treat it as a training run with a slow steady pace. It started off really well. I wanted to keep my pace around 11 minute miles and have a nice comfortable run. I felt really strong and the race was going well until mile 4. The back of my right knee started to bother me a little. It wasn't too bad, but I decided to slow my pace nonetheless. However, by mile 5 I had to do walk/run breaks because I started limping. By 5.5 miles I had to walk the rest of the way. I'm disappointed that I couldn't tough it out the rest of the way, but I fear injury more than my hurt pride. My official time is 1:14:29. Right now I can barely walk, but there isn't any swelling. Also, I can bend my knee fine, but walking and applying pressure to my right leg is painful. Maybe I pulled a muscle. I haven't been to the doctor. I will probably wait until tomorrow and see how my leg is at that point.

Well, that is all that is going on here. I haven't had to chance to see what everyone has been up to yesterday and today. I'll try to get around to that tomorrow. DH will be home tonight instead of tomorrow. YEAH!!

I need to go check on DD. It sounds like she is up from her nap.

WAVES to all my cheetahs!

Kristi - Ouch! I am sorry about your leg. I hope it is okay and just a short-term pain! You still did a wonderful job finishing, although I know being in pain during it made it no fun at all! Was it cold outside?

Hi Linda! It is great to "see" you. I hope you had a wonderful birthday. The race was overcast and pretty cold, 37, but it wasn't raining as they had predicted. Once the race got under way, it was nice running weather. I'm hoping I'll be back to normal soon. I have a 10 miler 2 weeks from today.

Shelly..I sure don't think emailing is a chicken way to tell your family you are moving! I hope you hear from your Mom soon. With dairy I do use only soymilk. I like a cheese called Soya Kaas but it does have some casein in it. I do sometimes eat any kind of lowfat cheese, I feel once in a while it will not hurt you. I also use Vegannaise and Earth Balance as the vegan alternatives for Mayo and butter. They taste great IMO. I am hoping going back to the natural way to run will help these injuries go away...Have fun with your 4DS workout.

Wendy..okay, I am reaching my hand through the PC trying to get those pita chips and salsa!!!! I don't think your morning was a waste, you had some good relaxing time to yourself...:)..Good job on the hilly run...

Linda...welcome home, hope you had a nice B-Day! I feel the Chi running made a lot of sense...but so far I think all it has done to me is create injuries. Glad you had some fun in Vegas. I have run down the strip..once...:)..Good job with the 5 miles today.

Kristi...don't feel bad at all for walking! Sometimes you can make things worse to keep running. I am proud of you for toughing it out and finishing. It is my right knee that is sore also...hopefully we can heal together..:)

I did the 60 min KPC/L&G circuit. I subbed front & back lunges for some of the L&G exercises. I had a little knee pain but not bad...

Afternoon Cheetahs!

Linda did you have a happy birthday celebration in Vegas? :)

Kristi ~ Had your leg hurt before the race (during workouts leading up to the race)? That really stinks! :( Are you icing it? Oh boy, we may have to start a DL Cheetah list. ;(

Wendy ~ Cardio has that affect on me too. Glad you got to the gym and had an attitude adjustment. :+ You wouldn't want to be all crabby on your date night, right? WOW! Your first X rotation lasted 6 months!!!?! How's phase 2? Does it get even tougher? My dh watched the informercial (I Tivo'd it for extra motivation. ;-)) and I think it's really peaking his interest. He told me I'm doing too much cardio and that I'm not following the plan. LOL! I've cut back on cardio since I started...thank you very much. :p

Shelly ~ Your family still doesn't know? Wow! We can't keep any secrets around here. News travels like wild fire. :) Hope your mom is understanding. It's tough to see family members move away. Yes, I did quite well at Barnes and Noble. Klutz makes some cool books I know will interest my kids. I also got that super, cute duck Webkinz for each. I don't do much candy, but they don't know any different. :) Nice workouts!

Lorie ~ How's the weather now? Good idea to stay indoors today. It was so nice here the past few days and today felt cold, but was only in the 40's. Ho-hum...ready for Spring.

Carole ~ I like that premix a lot. In fact, I heart that whole DVD. It's one of my favs! :) Have fun! What are your weekend plans? ETA: I use Earth Balance too. It's good. I drink rice milk. Not eating a whole lot of cheese for me is easy because I'm lactose intolerant. DS5 just told me the other morn he was "lactose intolery" LOL! I do miss ice cream. Rice Dreams just doesn't taste all that great to me. :(

Wendi ~ Good luck on the 2nd part of your tourney! :)

Sunny ~ How did the challenge go? Sounds fun. Be careful with that AOS! :)

Y-day: iClimb #5 on the EXT and ARX
Today: 3 miles on the treadmill and have L&B on tap. Not sure if I'll do it the way I did last week as I still feel some DOMS in my hamstrings (GSL earlier in the week). I'll see what strikes my fancy when I get back down there.

DS8 had his soccer this morn. They won. Then we took DS5 to see the new Dr. Seuss movie. Cute. The other two went b-day shopping w/the grandparents.

Hey Cheetahs!!

Man, I’ve been busy, so please forgive my lack of personals lately!! I have been reading. First – my finger is NOT broken thankfully! Just badly bruised – badly enough that three doctors were amazed it was not broken (at least from what they could see on the XRAY). I went to a smaller community hospital so the wait was not as bad. I was home by 7:30 even with a stop to Subway. I managed to finish AOS Providence and was doing some core work when it happened, so I did get a decent workout in. Today, Jimdog and I did a 5 mile trail run – rain held off – I got a little drizzled on, but for the most part it was just overcast. I did clear it with doc before. DH is definitely coming home tomorrow. He’s on board the plane right now! I’m looking forward to seeing him, but it will be weird and take some adjustment after being on my own for three weeks!

Wendy - Happy Anniversary!!!! http://www.seahawkblue.com/images/smilies/animated/party-073.gif

Hope it’s fabulous!!! Your rotation sounds fun! I like having some flexibility, but I think once you start to see results with NROLW you’ll be stoked and finish it. Good job at getting in a nice 2.5 mile run. I enjoy a short sweet run sometimes.

Kristi – WAY TO GO!! I’m impressed you were able to finish at all! You are one determined woman! I’m so sorry that you’re hurting, though!!!

Sunny – Your workout sounds incredible! Hope it was fun! Have fun with your Biggest Loser Teams first fitness challenge! That sounds like a great challenge!

Wendi – Break a leg tonight (not literally! :+) I’m here cheering you on!

Carole – I actually think my achilles issues were due to the way Chi running has you run. I just didn’t want to say anything because it was working for so many of you. I’m glad you figured out what was going on, and are able to correct it. I think it’s perfect for some, but like everything else – it does not work for everyone.

Lori – I was thinking of you when I heard the news this morning!! I hope you and yours are safe and sound! Enjoy your lazy day – you deserve it.

Shelly – I’m happy things are settling in. Your boss sounds wonderful. I’m glad she was so understanding. Your mom sounds like mine – I hope she takes it easy on you. I know this was a hard enough decision for you! {{{HUGS}}}. YES, I’m counting the hours. It will be nice to have another adult in the house. DD15 is a good kid, but she’s a kid. And listening to YOU moan? I feel like I’ve done nothing but complain or the last three weeks! We’re happy to be a sounding board.

Hey Linda!! Great to hear from ya!!! Oh, don’t be afraid of the bells – I was stupid and did something I knew not to do. You need to get AOS Providence – that one is fabulous and not too scary – and Anthony is easy on the eyes. :p Those business trips are brutal! Hope you’re home all week now! We’re so happy to have you back with us again!

Dallas – I love Dr. Seuss! One of the characters looks just like my DD15’s friend (her “odd” friend – who is just a nice as nice can be, but dresses in her own style – I like her – she’s neat – although the character she looks like is a guy!). Did you get through L&B? That’s a toughie – it kills me every time!! YEAH for DS8! Glad his team won!

I know I missed a lot, but my typing is limited right now, so please forgive me! DD15 and her BF are at the theater watching Cabaret. Their school put that one on this fall, so it’ll be interesting to see what they think. I have to go pick them up soon. Have a great day all!!

Evening, cheetahs!

Once again, please forgive my lack of personals as well. I am just wrapping up my work for today. Had class all morning, had to run over to King of Prussia in the early afternoon, and then resumed my portfolio work. It's...coming along. :) Working with my mentors this morning helped me get a grip once more...things were starting to slip away from me for a bit there. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/grouch/th_gaah.gif It really has been an up and down experience. Literally, one day I feel like yes! I can do this, and the next I'm convinced I've gotten in way over my head. But here I am, I'm hangin' on!! (Appreciatin' all the virtual cocktails on Facebook, too.) :)

Quickly:

Wendy :: happy anniversary!!!

Christine :: glad your finger isn't broken!

Shelly :: thinking of you and hoping Mom reacts well...funny, I wouldn't think of you as anything but accepting and understanding.

Carole :: I hope your knee is getting better!

Warm fuzzies to everyone else!
