~!~Cheetahs~!~Monday in the den

Good morning Cheetahs!

Sorry the second round of personals never made it on the thread last night...Earthlink kicked me off and wouldn't let me back on:mad::mad:. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, ggggrrrrrrrrr!

Oh, had to share cuz I couldn't help but laugh when I came across it. I ended up watching a documentary on PBS, of all places, on two orphaned Cheetah cubs that were hand raised and then reintroduced into the Afican wild. I swear I'm such a sap cuz I was in tears for most of it...both tears of sorrow and of joy. I know, I need some serious help:eek:! What I found amazing is that the one that survived (the other brother was killed by lions:() was always sooooo happy to see the guy who raised him, even as a 4 year old living completely wild. He'd run over to him and instantly start purring and rolling around on his back looking for a belly scratch...it was soooo unbelievably cute:).

Anyway, enough rambling;)...

Wendy - Glad you enjoyed KPC yesterday! Yeah, those are tough abs:eek:...probably my fave ab workout actually!

Cathy - I love your chill pill, girl! Too funny! I hope you were able to get through that pile last night...or were you up early doing it this morning? Oh, BTW, got a good chuckle about pouring some spirits...you crack me up:p! Glad you were able to at least get on the EXT and great job on BM2 UB!

Jackie - Hope you had a nice weekend with DBF!

Hi to the rest of the den!!!

Okay, I've got to go look for an update on Toki (the cheetah). I know, I really do need some serious help!!! BBIAB!

Shelly: Wow, I never thought about how DST would affect a night shift worker. Lucky for you you had off. :) Too funny about the kitty litter cake. I think the tootsie roll turds are the best part! LOL Enjoy taper mode...if you can. :p

Dallas: Thanks. :) Yes, most people are their own worst critic for sure. I think I will try to make the 1rm thing a work out in itself or atleast make it part of a work out.

Carole: Hmmm...I think your 16 miler burned off that spinach ravioli and the carrot cake! Wouldn't you agree? :)

Cathy: LOL about throwin' someone out the window! :D It was a girl and truth be told I am pretty certain she could kick my arse all over the place. Oh well, I don't claim to be able to fight. I just wanna be healthy and look hawt. :p ;)

Christine: Nice job landing the pedi set. Nothin' worse then walkin away from a grab bag with a gift you don't want. Appears you stayed in complete control at the party. You are a better Cheetah then I. I am awful when I get around yummy unclean foods and drinks.

Wendi: Glad I inspired you to give DM a go. I enjoy that work out. Sorry it's not one of your faves but good job gettin' it done anyway! LOL, I probably COULD scare the host. He's a little guy and looks pretty wimpy TBH. :p (((Hugs))) being sent your mom's way. What an awful situation. I'll keep my fingers crossed that her lunch with the head honchos proves profitable.

Today calls for the Push Pull Total Body premix (80 mins). That's a long one which I've never done before. I was thinking about taking the Power class at the gym in lieu of it but I think I really wanna give this premix a go since I've never done it before. We'll see what happens though...

BBL!

Congratulations to Linda!

Linda! congratulations on a great Race!!!
Gosh Linda I am so impressed with your finish! I am sorry about the leg cramping.

Your DH was so sweet to you for taking the chip off and making you a steak and stopping at the store on the way home. It sounds as though you and Patti were great companions sticking together all the way through.

So, when ins the next one?

Hiya Cheetahs Loverlies!

Carole – glad you had a fairly rain-free run yesterday. Turned out to be a nice day down here after all.

Linda – What a fabulous race report! Sorry you got cramps at 22 miles, but I’m impressed you were able to run through it all! Too funny about having to go back to drop off the chip. I’m so happy for you!!! WAY TO GO, GIRL!!!!

Wendi – Prayers for your mom’s job situation. It’s a hard world right now. Nice of her employers to go to bat for her. I hope they can come up with something. Re: the mayor doggie story – I wish our elections were only “dirty” in that way. Flat tires are a fact of life on bikes. I still haven’t fixed it though. Had I been further out, I’d have changed in on the ride, but with it so close and this a mere recovery ride, I decided to wuss out and have DH come get me. Oh, I’m a sap, too, especially when it comes to animal stories. Love the cheetah one!

Cathy – I’m often amazed at the gifts people come up with for these exchanges. Most people have no creative juices at all. But the 12 tea mugs I can kind of understand as most Indians have parties and at the parties they serve Chai – so they might come in handy. But, as I don’t host those kinds of parties, they are not as handy. :p

Wendy – I’m usually not in control food wise at parties, but I had had such bad eating days that I really did not want to continue. I like Push Pull. Enjoy your workout!

DH is up early to catch a plane. I’m early because, well, I get up early every morning. Today is GS Shoulders, abs and Plyo Legs.

Good morning cheetahs! I took yesterday's 20 miler at a pretty fast pace and I'm feeling it this morning I'm afraid! Didn't sleep well at all either:( Ah well, a good workout and a nap should make me feel better!

Linda- Congratulations again on a job very well done! That's a good thing your DH didn't wait til you got home before mentioning the chip!!!
That was so sweet of him to do that for you. I know what you are talking about being unable to bend down to get the chip off after a race. Probably all the cheetahs understand that!;)

Carole- Nice job on the 16 miles yesterday. LOL about being a raisin! Wow, I thought Karen was the iron one and she said she wouldn't have made it the whole way without you??

Wendi- Extra prayers going out to your Mom today and I hope her meeting goes well. Yes, tapering has always been a challenge for me I'm afraid! Love your "real" cheetah story this morning. Big AWWWW factor there!

wendy- Nice job with the KPC yesterday. Yes, that stability ball ab workout is a tough one as I recall. The PUB one tho I think is even tougher! I guess that PP premix you're doing is the one where you do everything twice... really makes it a much harder workout! Have fun!

Judy- I guess you're back from your latest trip? How did it go?

Cathy- Thanks for updating us yesterday on Linda. You are the heart and soul of the cheetahs in many ways! Hope your Monday is going well for you so far.

Christine- Sorry you had to deal with a flat on your beloved Mike the Bike yesterday! LOL about the "dirty" pictures of that border collie running for mayor:p Too funny!!!

I think that about catches me up cheetahpals. I don't feel much like working out but I probably won't be able to tomorrow. I work both tonight and tomorrow night 12 hr shifts so I have to go vote as soon as I reach home. I'll be picking up DH and we will go together. This is a sparsely populated area so hopefully there won't be any lines!
I'm gonna try to do DM upper body circuit and and a B&G premix.

tata

Christine: I like your work out plan for this morning. Enjoy it.

Shelly:  Now you have me really scared to do the PP premix!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...it was not a specifically hard 16, but there had been a few hills and sometimes the pavement beats you up a bit if you have been running a lot of dirt trails. Overall I felt good, and happy to get that distance in. Good job yesterday with BM2 upper and 30 min on your EXT.

Wendi...WOW, hope something works out for your Mom..Yes, Carrot cake is my favorite and this one was 3 layers with all kinds of stuff in it!! Showers always feel great after those long runs, or I could go to my sisters and chill in her hot tub! I would watch a documentary like that and be tearing up myself!

Wendy...That was one of the things that pushed me in the 16 miles was the dinner the previous night!! I do think I burned it off. I don't think I have ever done that PP premix either. Have fun!

Christine...I might not be so rain free in my run today! I am up early with you...:)...enjoy your GS workout, abs and plyo legs.

Shelly...Karen is tough, don't get me wrong, but when I was doing my 14's, 15 milers she had missed a few or she had other things going on and did not run as far. We both have not trained for a marathon (especially the long runs) in a very long time and the 1st time for a specific distance is the toughest. Next time a 16 miler will be easier...if you get this...:)..I feel good as I am about a month ahead of schedule. I got in 35 miles last week and I hoped to be there the beginning of Dec! A busy few days coming up for you. Enjoy your DM upper circuit and B&G.

Linda...Thanks for coming on yesterday to share your story!! I am not a fan of Gatorade myself. I think in a marathon it definitely gets tougher about 22 miles into it. Sorry about those cramps...but you reached down and pushed through to a great finish!!! I bet pizza tasted so good after the run. Cute story about DH and the chip. Usually they have volunteers that take those off? Glad to hear Patty finished well also. I hope you can just lay around and rest today...:D

Today is P90X S&A, abs and a 5-6 mile easy run (in the rain!)...Oh..and a massage this afternoon!!!!

Have a great day...:)

Morning Cheetahs!

So far I did BM2-BC premix. Wow! I don't think I've done that premix before. Who needs coffee after that!!?! Tomorrow kbox is on the rotation, so I think I'll add a little 3 mile run today.

Carole ~ WTG on the 16 miler. What will be your longest run for your marathon training? Wait - you haven't started training yet!?! I read what you wrote to Shelly and that makes sense. Boy, do I need help then. ha ha. After the half 8 & 10 don't seem too bad. I'm making an appt for a massage...after all this massage talk. ;) Enjoy yours today esp after your rainy run. Did you get your fridge cleaned out? I opened the freezer and thought I'll save that for another day. lol I asked Dh about Napa and he said, "Go ahead." :D Now I have to make sure he really heard what I was asking. ;) Of course, get over the guilt of being gone on my b-day too.

Shelly ~ Curious...what was your pace for the 20 miler? Do I dare ask? :p;) Enjoy your workouts. Yep, IA vote early and vote often. :) I did early voting and there was an hour line. lol'd about your job security comment. Sadly, I think that's a lot of areas. :(

Christine ~ nice workout plan. :) Bummer about the flat, but at least you were almost home, like you said. Glad it wasn't too late of a night Sat. night. Cute about the animal mayors...maybe they're onto something. lol;) Nice a pedicure kit! I need one...can I come over. :p

Judy ~ How was the tourney? Didn't we have great weather? Of course, you were in an ice arena the whole time.

Wendy ~ Cute pictures of Joey. The porta potty picture...too funny! I have to download my Halloween ones still. KPC abs are tough after all that punching. Today, I was able to do the snow angel in BM2 without falling over. :D Enjoy your PP premix! Can't wait to hear reviews on that one.

Wendi ~ Your Cheetah story reminded me of something the kids and I watched about a guy who lives w/Bears. It's crazy! I really feel for your mom. :( Wish there was something I could do.

Cathy ~ Love that chill pill smiley. :) Thanks for updating us y-day on Linda. I didn't have much time to post. Are you off on election day? Or just the students?

Linda ~ How are you feeling today? Just think you can add weights back in soon! :) That's probably going to be ONE of the hardest things when I train for Chicago '09 is giving up the weights. I'll have to go back and read, but just lower body weights and how long? Or both upper and lower?

Hi to the rest of the Cheetahs checking in, better get that run in before DS gets home. :)

Hi girls!

Just poppin for now to say that I got out for a 7.6 mile run and, for whatever reason, it was *HARD*. Oh well, it goes like that, right? I guess it just means that I'm due for a good one next time out;).

Gonna go rake some leaves since I'm already sweaty and nasty:eek:, then enjoy a nice long, HOT shower and then I'll be back to catch up.

TTFN!

Wendi ~ WTG on the 7.6 miles. Oh boy, racking leaves...that's another workout. ;)

I got 3 miles in outside. It's so pretty out there. I actually was overdressed w/a long sleeve and short sleeve over it. Whew! It's a good thing I wore shorts. Christine, which was the website for looser running pants. I need to get those ordered. Thanks!

Now it's time to get busy on this house and groceries. Fun.

Good morning! Monday, already! Gosh….what a fast weekend!

Thanks everyone for the congrats and support!!! That meant so much to me! 

Cathy – Thanks for updating everyone for me! I am definitely thinking seriously about Chicago! That would be so good! (Good Lord willing!) Hope you didn’t have too much work last night! Good job on your workout!

Wendi – Awww! That PBS show sounded great! I would love to have seen it! I am so sorry about everything that is going on with your mom! I hope and pray everything works out for her! Good job on your 7.6 mile run! It may have been hard because of all the stress of worrying about your mom.

Wendy – The biker chick costume sounds cute! Congrats on the comments about your muscles!! It is always good to hear that after all the hard work, isn’t it? The cramps are no fun, are they? I was so frustrated! I am sure it would have been just fine if I could have finished with the Gu2o…instead of having to resort to Gatorade the last several miles! Oh well….next time! Sorry about your IE giving you fits! What absolutely adorable pics of Joey and his little friends!

Shelly – Great job on your 20 miler! Way to go! You are getting close to your marathon, aren’t you! I am so excited for you! Yes, one of these days we have got to run together! You could pop down here, or maybe I could pop up there! My SDs live in Pittsburg….I don’t know how far away that is from you….

Dallas – Thanks for the TNT updates and e-mails! I told DH about the Cheetah hug! He was pleased  He was really sweet through this whole thing!  OH my! Giving up the weights was so hard! I hope so much that I can run Chicago with you guys! So far, I feel pretty good! I am kind of sore….but I don’t feel any “injuries” or muscle pulls!

Carole – Good job on your 16 mile run! Glad it went well for you! I am not a fan of Gatorade, either! I carried the fuel belt with the 4 bottles of Gu2o and thought I had it covered to get my replacement belt with Gu. Didn’t happen  Yes, all the races I have done, they take my chip off for me, too! I think I was so intent on finding DH, sis and everyone for my Gu that I was kind of dazed. The volunteers were helping others and I didn’t wait and just asked him to do it. I took it for granted he would see what was going on with the others and put it in the “barrel”. “WRONG!” Oh well…he was so sweet trying to help me and make sure I was okay. Bless his heart!

Christine – Sorry about your flat! I don’t blame you for having DH come and pick you up and fixing later! Any more rain forecasted? Thanks for the congrats!!! I am glad you enjoyed the dinner party the other night!

Karen – LOL…DH loved the “Honorary Cheetah” title!

Judy – Thanks for the congrats! Yes, DH really out did himself yesterday! I don’t know what I would have done without his help! Is DS’s contusion still getting better?

Hmm…now I have to figure out exactly how to recover from this and start my workouts again (weights)…as well as running.

Have a great day everyone!!

Linda

Dallas - The one e-mail that you sent me from TNT totally answered my question about recovery! I just now read it! :) (I had not read that one yet!). Thanks again!

Hiya chickadees!

Well, leaves added another 262 cals burned which put me just over 1000 for the day:D...me likey!

Wendy - Oh, you'll love that PP premix...I actually have been looking to break that puppy out at some point, just haven't figured out where to fit it into the rotation. Hmmmmm, maybe Thurs. am so I'm ready for bowling:p! Thanks for the positive thoughts regarding my mom...I can't wait to hear how lunch goes today.

Judy - Glad to see you're home! How is DS doing, BTW?

Christine - WOW, nice workout you've got on tap today! Yeah, those two guys are good people...fingers are crossed.

Shelly - Oh dear, sorry to hear that you're not feeling too good this morning after your run yesterday:(. Although, only YOU would say that DM and B&G:eek: would make you feel better lol:p! Thanks for the extra prayers love:). Hope your next two shifts go quickly!

Carole - Oooooh, hot tub????...NOW you're talking;):D! Uggh, sorry about the rainy run today:(...hopefully it'll only be a drizzle. NICE, enjoy your massage! You know it's been great to hear that I'm not the only one who cries at the drop of a hat about that kind of stuff:eek:.

Dallas - Oooooh, that's a FAB premix...glad you enjoyed it!!! Ican't believe you got out for a run, too...WOW!!! I think I know which guy (with the bears) you're talking about...saw a piece of that a little while back. LOL, I was actually pleasantly surprised that the raking was that good of a workout. It's actually the fourth time I've gotten out there to do mine and my neighbor's yards. I probably will have another 2-3 rounds left to go before all is said and done.

Linda - So, how are you feeling today???? Actually, if you're interested check out www.pbs.org The show was one of the Nature series called The Cheetah Orphans or something like that...it's easy to find actually. It's on again Saturday and I think I'm going to tape it cuz I missed the first 10-15 minutes of it. Oh, thanks, it could be mom's stress, it could be my own (had a rotten Saturday with bosshole), could have been the fact that I went out with some pretty fierce booty and hammy DOMS from DM...who knows? Not worrying about it too much.

Gotta get moving and fast. DSO is coming over and we're heading out to lunch which is good cuz I am *famished*. Have a great one!

Happy Lunch time girls.

Today is my second week of slow and heavy. I did chest and back and all those stupid planks:mad:. Arms flet really heavy today after all the wood I hauled yesterday. I feel like an offical mountain women. I'm glad the cords are now stacked and I can sit back and enjoy my fireplace now.

As for me. I really need to get my a@@ in gear. I have no clue what is wrong with me other than stress. It really is hard taking care of two house holds, doing school, and all the stuff I have to just DO in life. It has put my eating at an all time low. Today is a new day so I will begin again. Thank goodness I exercise so much or I would weight a ton. Literally!!!!!! It really is just been to easy for me to grab pizza or eat junk when I have had so much to do. I'm not making dinners like before because when I get done with my home I have things to do at mom's. I'm really not complaing just more or less venting for not taking better care of myslef. Get this. I have a candy sore in the roof of my mouth. Now you know that is bad when you get a sore from sucking down so much candy.:eek:

Here's the plan. I really need to lose a good 15 lbs. I want to do that before I begin training for the full. I may even opt out of the full for March and do the May mary in DE or Md. I think it will give me a good shot at losing the weight. God knows I can''t lose a darn thing while training. At least I can say that for the half I stayed the same unlike when I trained for the 10 miler and gained 10 pounds. I don't think that is what they had in mind when they called it a 10 miler.

I'm done venting my toughts. Thanks.

Cathy- Take it easy. I know how easy it is to have so much on your plate. The most important thing I have learned thus far is to not lose yourslef. It can be so easy to fall behind in school work for sure. I know for you it must be so much with tons of children to look after. I have get a grip, set my priorities and roll with it. Want to join me!!

Wendi- Leaves are on my list of to do for today. i told dh he needs to go mow them up first and then I will make do with all the other ones. I love the look of all my trees but man do they go everywhere.

Wendy- hope you made it though the pre mix. Glad you had a nice time at the Halloween party. Joey is adorable.

Judy- how was the weekend away.

Christine- Now I'm down to 19lbs of candy. I engulfed at least a pound or two this weekend alone. Somebody stop me.

Shelly- Hope work goes smoothly over the next two days. Good job on your long run.

Carole- Oh boy I could use a massage. You do deserve it though after that long run.

Dallas- Welcome to my life. It sounds like we could trade places. I need to go to the library, get groceries, rake leaves and . What else???? Great job on the 3 miles.

Linda- How is my girl today. Any soreness. Have you mapped out a recovery plan yet. I'm sure you will be just fine. All that hard work payed off.

WOW!

Yeah, that's the one word I've come up with to describe the PP premix I did today. :p It's doable for sure but TOUGH and LONG! I should be hurtin' for certain tmrw! ;)

Wendi: The PP 80 min tb premix I just did will surely wear you out adequately for bowling. I wouldn't do it the day BEFORE bowling though. Enjoy lunch with DSO. Make sure you tell us what was on the menu!

Linda: So how do you feel this morning? Are you sore? Are you walkin' funny? ;) Thanks re the pics of Joey. That's my boy. Such a little flirt. He's a ladies man just like his papa!:D

Dallas: Congrats on the snow angel accomlishment! I've never done the BM2 BC premix. Sounds like one I need to put on my to do list! You need to put the PP TB premix on your to do list now too! :)

Carole: Who cares about the spinach ravioli, the cake or the work outs that burned it off...just enjoy your massage! LOL ;):D

Shelly: ITA that the sb work in PUB is THE killer ab work out of all time!!! You say you don't feel like workin' out but we all know you'll do some kick arse work out anyway.

Christine: Safe travel vibes for your DH. Plyo legs? YEOWCH! Enjoy your work out! :)

Karen: Posting at the same time. I can't imagine the stress you are under with all that is going on in your life/family. (((HUGS))) Unfortunatly I have no words of wisdom or advice for you. Just a whole bunch of hugs and support. :) I know you can lose that 15 pounds if you put your mind to it. Don't do the full until you are ready. It's a big committment. I second-guessed myself a few times before finally coming to a decision I was comfortable with regarding a full mary. There will be a marathon waiting for you when you are ready! :)

Dallas...Sounds like a tough premix! Have a good run. No, I have not started officially marathon training yet. I start the 1st week in Dec. My longest run for marathon training will be 22 miles. Although my sis and I kinda discussed doing a local marathon on Jan 1st as a training run. I would just not RUN the whole 26.2 miles. I would put in about 4 miles of walking. Still not sure about that one yet...:).No, I didn't get to the fridge cleaning, and I might have to tackle some gutters today. Hey, we are planning on a fun B-Day celebration at Napa too. Mine, Posh's and your's!!

Linda...That is cool you are considering Chicago. It would be way fun to have a big cheetah group running it. Oh yeah, I do understand the dazed feeling after a marathon!! Your DH was a true sweetheart...:D...I would take it VERY easy this week and just do some fun workouts.

Wendi...LOL about the leaf raking and calorie burn! I honestly do not mind running in the rain. As long as the wind is not around. Ahh geeze, I even cry during some commercials...:)

Karen...stress is a tough thing to live with and you do have your share. Dropping the weight is helpful for making you feel better but sometimes tough to get started. It might be a bit easier after the holidays?

Wendy...I didn't worry much about the ravioli and cake as my weight even dropped a lb. I just felt so much better yesterday after eating clean. Way to go on the killer workout.

P90X S&A is my favorite workout and was fun today! Even the running in the rain did not bother me. I do look forward to my massage this afternoon.

Wendy...I didn't worry much about the ravioli and cake as my weight even dropped a lb. I just felt so much better yesterday after eating clean. Way to go on the killer workout.

Um...you LOST a pound from eating ravioli and cake!?! Okay, you are soooo not my friend anymore!:p

j/k!!!! :D

Hi Cheetahs!

No time for personals today. I do want to send a big shout out to Linda on such an amazing race! Congratulations! Way to do it! So proud of you.

Today's workout was a 4.5 mile speed ladder and 10 minutes of stretching.

Gotta run. Enjoy your day!
