Mornin', cheetahs :)

I am barely awake here. Today starts Phase 2 of the X. I'm making it Doubles this time around as I think I need more cardio to drop this weight. I rearranged the week one rotation, though, as I anticipated being tired from the weekend away. So this afternoon will be Yoga.

Just a couple of personals to catch up with...

Jess :: the St. Patty's b-fast sounds cute...Noro virus is a highly contagious viral infection -- the kind that you hear breaks out on cruise ships. It is usually a 24-48 hour virus and it sidelines you HARD. I do feel better, thanks. Lucky me, it seems to have destroyed much of my appetite...The Stick is not something I'd use on my achilles...I use it more to dig in deep into the muscles and work on knots...I may try the foam roller, anyway. It's always good to have a few different tools in the arsenal. When I had AT, like Carole, I iced a lot and did ibuprofen, but cutting back mileage wasn't enough...eventually, I had to take a break from running completely.

Carole :: thanks for the well wishes...let us know if you find your cat today. I'll be thinking of you.

Have a great day, everyone!

~Cathy :)

Those who indulge...bulge!

Good morning cheetahs,

cathy- welcome back!! how was your trip? hope you had a glorious time. i am with you girl, barely awoke but have my first client at 5:30AM.

just wasn't in the cards for me to do HSC last week. dh wanted to work out together yesterday so we did our own chest, shoulders and triceps. woooo, am i feeling it today! feels good}( .

today's workout will be the standing legs and abs premix from B & G.

carole- i truly hope you find your cat today.

judy- thinking about you and your family.

wendy- no i do not train on sunday's at all. saturday's only if i can squeeze in some time. i just love the complete flexibility of personal training.

shelly- couldn't get on the bike yet because 1) do not have the trainer yet for home use and 2) i didn't have helmets for outdoor use. however we went to target last night and i picked up helmets for me and baby ds. i am just waiting for the child carrier seat to be delivered so i can take him out with me.

jess- you come up with the cutest ideas!

christine- not yet i haven't. just had to pick up a few extra items. helmets for outside and waiting for the trainer to be delivered on the inside. then i can ride away with you, lol.

will BBL (hopefully) to catch up with everyone else.

Have a great monday ladies:)

Sunny :: enjoy today's workout...hope the trainer arrives soon so you can have fun w/ your new bike. Thanks for asking - I posted about it last night (kinda long) if you get a chance to read yesterday's post. If not, the short version is that I got REALLY sick on the way up and could only ski part of the time but did have fun anyway. They got lots of snow up there.

~Cathy :)

Just popping in to say "HI" and then go catch up from the weekend's posts. :)

Tonight I teach my step class. Yesterday I got in a 3.5 mile run and an hour power walk. It felt great, the temps were in the low 40's so it wasn't bad at all and very refreshing.

I'll be back.
Marcia.

Good morning all! Hope everyone's weekend went well. I took a break from running yesterday but fried my legs anyway with the B&G leg blast
}( Today will be a 30 minute tempo run after I get home from work.
When I get up if I have time I'll do PP upperbody X2 premix.

Cathy- You poor baby! I know how much you were looking forward to your ski getaway. It sounds like you're on the road to recovery now
and yoga sounds like it'll be a good choice for you today. Are you going to work today?

SunnyD- Another early am client? I hope your gym is close by! Okay, you've got the totally cool bike helmets now!! Have a great B&G day!

Marcia- You sure got in a good cardio day yesterday!!! WTG! Are you still doing the toning classes also?

Carole- Glad to hear your run went well yesterday. Did you find your
missing kitty?

Wendy- You should try firing a rifle.... it's a lot more comfortable and fun than a handgun. Starting a new X phase now aren't ya?

Christine- Sounds like an awesome bike store you went to. Great to hear stories about good customer service. I didn't know that iTrain made any iRows. I do have a rowing machine I like to use now and then. Even though it wasn't high intensity for you I may give it a try.

Linda- Good job on your 6 mile ice run! With those conditions I would have given up after a mile!

Duty calls me cheetahs! Hi to everyone following!

ShellyC

Hi - ShellyC:

Yep, still doing the toning class, but I think I'll see about switching it up to circuits or bootcamp style instead; the ones that do come really miss the cardio and they don't bring the variety of weights that they need for toning so they don't get as much out of toning as they should if they had the versatility.

Take care,
Marcia.

Cheetahs-

We are moving along in a bit of a numb state. I'm just not up to personals ~~~except~~~

~~~Carole~~~ I hope you locate your kitty. If he did go somewhere to die I hope you locate him. It can be so sad not knowing the outcome.Please let us know.
I was thinking of running for the first time today in two weeks, but it is icy again and I do not want to run on the TM. so, I'll either walk the TM or do CC on the EXT.
If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.
Good Morning Cheetahs!:)
I don't have any play time this morning. I have to be in work in an hour and didn't get up all that long ago! :eek: I hate when I sleep too late. I really enjoy my time in the morning before DS gets up and/or we have to go somewhere to chill with my coffee, the tv and the Cathe forum!;)
Today is Chest and Back/ARX. I love Chest and Back. It's KILLER but it's fun for me! }( I can't believe I am starting week 11 today!?!?!
One more week of weight work after this and then....RECOVERY!!!!....after that....dare I say it....THE X IS COMPLETE!
WOW! :+ :7 :+ :7 :+ :7 }( }( }(
I've barely been able to stick with a month long rotation in the past! I have no idea how I've pulled this one off! LOL
Okay, I'm outta here for now....I'll be back after work!:+
Good morning ladies! Work will be slow this afternoon since everyone will be out bowling while I stay at work. I will try to catch up on personals then.
This weekend went well. The kids and I survived Saturday. We did go to the movies to see Happy Feet as planned. However, we only got to watch about 45 mintues before we left. DD was too antsy. DS took the news of us leaving really well. I did tell him beforehand that if DD acted up and we had to leave then I would buy him the movie on Tuesday when it comes out. That night I got in Gin Miller's Simply Strong. I'm not sure I like that one, even though I love Gin Miller workouts. About 3 a.m. on Sunday, DH came home. It was so nice to see him. I haven't slept well in his absence and our cocker spaniel, Sadie, has been misbehaving. She is probably mad at me for some odd reason. Sunday was a pretty relaxing day of church and spending time with the family. I also got in my 8 mile long run on the treadmill. It took me 1 hr 29 min. It felt great. I probably could have ran another mile or two but I don't want to up my mileage too soon.
So far today I'm not sure what I will be doing, maybe strength training. I'll have to get back with you all on that one.
BBL! Have a great day Cheetahs!
GOOD MORNING! The sun is shining on our beautiful white snow and it's just GLORIOUS! Happy Monday!
My weekend was great. Lots of outside play in the snow for the kids. My workouts were awesome: Sat was kickboxing with weighted gloves and Sunday was a long run of 10 miles (on the treadmill). Eating was on target, so that's ALWAYS a plus!
This morning was an early morning for CTX upper body and Core Max. I feel great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've set some goals up for myself: when I get to free ww meetings (that's in just 4.8 lbs), I will treat myself to a new iTrain workout. When I get BACK to my WW goal (in just 6.8, I will buy myself the Rodney Yee Yoga Burn dvd that I want. Then when I get to my personal goal (in just 11.8), it will be a new pair of jeans. Sounds good to me!
Question: Can you get TOO much protein??? The smoothie mix I drink in the morning has 15g. Add a scoop of protein powder worth 23 more grams, and all the protein I get druing the day....is there such a thing as TOO much???
BBL, time for some house stuff!
Gayle
Good morning cheetahs
Cathy...so glad you are feeling better, that is one nasty viral infection. Enjoy your yoga workout..Thanks for your thoughts.
Sunny...have fun with B&G. Thanks, I hope to find him too..
Marcia...sounds like a good workout yesterday. Enjoy your step class tonight.
Shelly...no sign of my cat yet. Sounds like s good workout with a 30 min tempo run and PP upper.
Judy...I can understand your numb state...:(...I do think my cat is most likely gone but like you say I would like to know for sure. I would not run on the icy roads either. Maybe the EXT is a better idea..
Wendy..I am so impressed with you for just about completing the X!!!!! Enjoy C&B and ARX.
Kristi...glad your DH got home. Good job with the 8 miles!
Gayle...sounds like good goals. Yes, you can get too much protein IMO. Check out this article http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=50900
I am going to try out BBC Arms & Abs. Also I will add PLB floor legs...
Have a good day..:)
G'morning Cheetahs! Yucky rainy Monday here. Good thing we don't have anywhere to go! ;-) We had a big t-storm last night, Hannah ended up sleeping in Kiersten & Allison's room!! So much for being the *big* sister!! :p
Ok, I'm off to do LIC, we'll see how my left leg does w/ it! Low impact should be ok, at least I hope so!!
I'll check back in later!
Good morning everyone!!
Carole - I think the other BBC instructors' personalities are much better than Barry's. But, he still kicks butt. He has me in pain sometimes. LOL!! Glad you're still looking forward to doing them. I have really been thinking about that Freestyle. For my rotation next month, I may give it a shot for two weeks and do the Gym Styles for two weeks. Will PM you when I start working on it. Sorry to hear about your cat. (((((HUGS))))) Hope you find him.
Cathy - Thanks on the socks. Will check those out too. It's time to replace all of mine. So sorry to hear you were sick on your trip. (((((HUGS))))). Hope you're back to 100%. Glad you two got to have some fun inspite of it. I think you can get too much protein. I usually get in around 100g and it helps to make me feel full.
Jess - Glad your feet feel better. Glad you enjoyed your weekend with the family.
Sunny - You have an early client. Do you start that early every day? Enjoy your workout.
Marcia - Good job on the workout! Have a fun class tonight.
Shelly - What's your tempo run like if you don't mind me asking?
Judy - Still keeping everyone in prayer. Have a good workout!
Wendy - Glad you enjoyed your workout. I'll do P90X tomorrow.
Kristi - Glad the weekend went well with the kids and ds was so understanding. I think he deserves that movie after having to leave. LOL!! Glad dh made it back home safely. Good run for you!
I did iTri Triple S - Speed, Strength & Stretching. It consists of 15 minutes on treadmill, 15 minutes on elliptical, 15 minutes on bike (I substituted my Bosu) and 15 minutes on treadmill. You finish up with ab work, push ups and stretching.
Have a great Monday!
Jackie
Good morning cheethas,
I am back and rested from my wonderful little adventure with my hubby. We had such a nice time just hanging out and working out together. We did a LOT of shopping at the wonderful downtown outdoor mall and had some delicious meals. What more could you ask for? The weather was almost 80 degrees on Friday and Saturday and Sunday it was in the 70's, so much FUN!!!! When we got home though, Mariah was doing a lot better with her stomache issues, but, my 8 year old was showing me something on the trampoline and she sprained her ankle. It swelled up like a tennis ball and it is now purple. She is home with me today and can barely walk. I think we will be going to the dr's office this morning.
I did Butts and Gutts yesterday and of course it was wonderful. I really consider that workout cardio. I burned about 400 calories for the leg blaster premix. I have to say though ladies, this back thing is not completley over. I cannot believe that I still have days where I am uncomfortable. Yes, it is so so much better, but just still not 100%. Oh well, I am just still taking my workouts day by day and just trying not to obsess too much.
Today, I am going to do a 30 minute power walk and then 30 minutes on the elliptical and then some floor work.
Cathy, I am so sorry about you getting sick on your trip. I hope you still had some fun:)
Carole, I really hope you find your kitty. I am so sorry for your grief right now. How is your back feeling today?
Judy, You are in my thoughts.
I will be back later for more personals. I have to give my oldest some ibuprofin and then guzzle some green tea:)
BBL,
Susan
ttyl...
Hey girlies. I'm here for personals before my work out...:)
Cathy, YIKES! What a horrible thing to happen on a ski trip! Glad you are feeling better though. DH used to be a skier but he hasn't been in years. I've never been and am afraid to try! LOL
Sunny, The flexibility part of being a PT is just what I need! Post X I will be doing a BBC rotation!}(
Marcia, A run AND a power walk!? You go girl! How long did that take you?
Shelly, I've already started Phase 3 of the X. I only have a few more weeks and I'm DONE! I'm not sure if it was SS or PP but I did one of them where u did upper body x 2 and OMG it was a fryer for sure!!!! Have fun!}( I'm doing the Leg Blast Premix tmrw and I think I'm going to run first since I have the early shift at work! OUCH!}(
Judy, HUGS to you and your family...It will get easier with time...Take care!
Kristi, Good job with your long run on the TM! I am going to have to start working on upping my mileage once the weather gets nicer and I start taking outside again!
Carole, So what do you think of BBC so far?
Hi Gayle, Jackie, Jess and Susan!:)
We have an appointment at 6pm to get our taxes done tonight. We are dropping Joey off at a sitter cause he won't sit through that...NO WAY! LOL Anywho, I'll probably have a lot going on this afternoon because of that so I may not get back here until later tonight...
I'm off to get my arse kicked by Tony before I opt for a nap instead!:eek: ;) :p :7
Good Morning lovely Cheetahs!
I could not drag my fat “add” out of bed this morning (reverse the Carole typo of yesterday… :+). Actually I did manage to get up, pack lunches and get a cup of tea, then I promptly fell asleep on the chair. Slept through any hope of a workout with my new pedals and shoes! Bummer! I needed it though as I feel pretty human now! Fortunately, the shoes are standard SPD cleats, so they’ll fit on the spin bikes at the gym (did that on purpose). So I’ll at least get to test out the new shoes at the gym this afternoon. I’m planning on doing as much of CC Chose Living as I can. Might have to go separately from my coworker, and if so, that’s good so I can do the full hour.
Cathy – I’m so sorry you were so sick over your weekend! What a bummer! Unfortunately, I think you’re like me – you need cardio to lose weight. Lucky people like Wendy get to lose weight by lifting!
Sunny – oh, I’m not a good waiter (in both senses actually!). When I get something, I want it NOW! What kind of trainer did you get? I’m so excited to have another cyclist on the Cheetah boards (although I feel that I shouldn’t be here as I’m not really running any more!). On your cancellations – can you implement a 24 hour cancellation policy? My DD’s lesson teachers always said that you had to notify them 24 hours in advance of a cancellation or you are required to pay anyway as you have set aside that time for them and could have filled it with another client had they notified you. Just a thought. Maybe it doesn’t work in the PT field.
Marcia – glad to hear you got outside! Nice to feel the sun on your face, isn’t it? Funny, everything here in California is in bloom so we’re all sneezing and hacking with all of the allergens in the air. Can’t win, can ya?
Shelly – iTrain has one iRow workout – and I like it, actually, as he has a nice voice and the music for once has no rap (I hate rap :+). He also remind you on form, etc. I think I’ll get a better workout as I get more used to rowing. Good job on the “Oh No!” Workout! I’ll never be able to do that workout without smiling every time I think “Oh no not that one again!” Which is often. But, that’s a good thing.
Judy – take all the time you need. We’ll be here when you are ready. You and everyone involved remain in my prayers.
Wendy – I’m chuckling as I saw you have already planned the next rotation – I guess I get to remain rotationless a bit longer. :p Enjoy C&B. That one is fun. I feel so strong afterwards.
Kristi – glad DH made it home safely! You’re cocker was probably misbehaving because she was not sure where her place was in the family without DH. I have similar issues with my female dog when DH leaves. My male is such a softy that he should be glad he’s not a pack animal or he’d be ranked really low. But he’s such a sweetheart.
Gayle – Sounds like you have a great plan for rewarding yourself. Good job! I think our bodies can only absorb so much protein at once, but I think you’re probably safe. I do better on a higher protein diet (around 100 grams a day), but some don’t. See how your body reacts.
Carole – have fun with your BBC workouts! I have more prayers in to St. Francis. Poor guy. Hope you find him soon.
Jackie – sounds like a great working!!
Jess – I was terrified of lightening when I was younger. Not thunder, just lightening. And I’m the oldest, so I understand Hannah! Of course, I was afraid of the moon, too… *rolls eyes at self* It kind of follow you around…
Susan – so glad to hear you had a fabulous weekend! It was really nice here wasn’t it? Sorry DD8 sprained her ankle though – at least it was AFTER you got back. *Sends healing vibes and hugs to Susan and hurt DD*
Have a great day ladies! I’m actually surprised I got these in! Phew!
Hello ladies,
WHEW! I just did a power walk for 60 minutes and got in 4.8 miles!!! It felt like I was running. It was actually harder than some of my runs. I felt nothing in my back, so we will see tomorrow}(
I am taking my daughter this afternoon for her appointment to look at her ankle. She cannot put any weight on it. I hope she does not need crutches.
Sunnydelite, I would definitley charge for a cancellation so late. Show them who is boss;-)
Marcia, that was quite a workout yesterday. This weather really makes you want to walk and be outdoors
:)
Shelly, sounds like you love the butts and gutts leg blaster premix like I do. I can never get enough of that one. When is your race?
Wendy, what is next after your power90x rotation? I cannot beleive you are almost done. Would you do it again soon?
Kristi, GREAT job on your long run! 8 miles is definitley a long run on the treadmill.
Gayle, sounds like you are meeting all your fitness goals and eating. Good for you for keeping in the food in check on a weekend, WOW! That has never happened for me on}(
Jackie, that sounds like a great itrain. What itrain would your recommend for just the elliptical? I need to break down and get one.
Jess, sounds like you had a great weekend. You guys always have a lot of festivities in your house. How did you do with LIC? Sorry to hear about the AT problems. It is hard to be a cheetah sometimes}(
Hope that is everyone. Hello to the rest of you cheetahs.
Cheers!
Susan
Hi christine:) :) :)
We were posting at the same time. Get that workout in friend}( That is great that you always have the opportunity to get the workouts in the afternoon at lunchtime. Have fun on the bike!
Susan
:)
Jess - How did the workout go?
Susan - So glad you had a wonderful weekend. Sounds peaceful and relaxing. It's nice not having to be anywhere or do anything in particular. Glad to hear Mariah is better. How is the sprained ankle for the little one? Hope it's ok. Great power walking!!! If I were only going to buy one iClimb, I would make sure it's one of the 40 - 45 minute ones. That way you can do the whole thing or break it up. I've only done 2 of the longer ones and I can't remember exactly which ones they are.
Sunny - ITA with charging for cancellation. Your time is valuable too.
Wendy - Good luck with Phase 3 of X. Glad to have my taxes out of the way. BF is an accountant and he takes care of it for me.
Christine - Sorry you missed your workout with the new pedals and shoes. Enjoy your workout at the gym.
Jackie
