::: CHEETAHS ::: Mon. morning shuffle *Nov. 5*

Heidi- i haven't seen anything on the forum re: itrain rotations. i have done my own. alterning between strength training one day and cardio the next. HTH!

christine- i hear you. i was going to do a FB workout today but my knees are screaming at me from my run yesterday:(

carole- i changed the game plan for today. i did chest, bi's and tri's and what a totally different workout this one is. she did an awesome job of finding some different (remains to be seen if they are effective) yet fun exercises. i am very excited to do the rest of the parts!!

wendy- take care of yourself today.

judy- the run yesterday was a training one. as bad as i felt yesterday and today i am re-thinking this HM. i know that is so sad.
enjoy your pilates classes!

ttyl...:)

Good morning Cheetahs!

A quick check in for me. I have to get caught up at work. Then I'm leaving right after for Memphis. Our flight is at 6:00 am tomorrow morning.

Wanted to post my wish list for:

Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kick Boxing
Any workout top or bottom
Costume jewelry - bracelet
Gloves and scarf

Linda - Congratulations on finishing your half!! Awesome time! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, you can do a full marathon if you set your mind to it. I don't even want to let it run through my mind. I did use my ipod yesterday and I listened to some iTread Outdoors. Think it helped me to keep a good rhythm going.

Cathy - Have a great time on your cruise. Don't blame you for making the most out of it. Sending prayers your way.

Lorie - More (((((HUGS))))) to you. I think you have the right attitude about the whole situation. See what time brings.

Hello to all other Cheetahs. Hope you had good workouts today.

It was a much needed rest day for me. May do a little walking and some stretching later if I make it to DBF before dark today. Legs are feeling much better today.

Gotta get back to work. Have a great week!

Jackie

My review of Amy's Slo-mo premix, shoulders, bi's and tri's: I loved this workout. I feel the shoulder workout was the toughest and mine were burning. The bicep work is fun. I love how she does concentration curls with a BB, I really felt it in my biceps! Triceps to me was the easiest workout, but the elevated dips were tough. Overall it might be better than her APX as there are not as many equipment changes. I just really enjoy her innovative exercises like none I have seen before. Amy does impress me with how heavy she goes with some of these exercises...:)

Heidi...happy to help...:)...That GS leg workout is a great burner!

Sunny...I did the premix of shoulders, bi's and tri's...WOW...my shoulders were on fire!! I agree this is a great workout.

Jackie...is this Memphis trip or business or pleasure??...Have fun either way.

I am thinking of an LIC upper body circuit for my afternoon workout.

Quick Hello!

Heidi- iTread is new to me too. I have no recommendations for rotations, other than oor my body, I can not make every run of the week an iTread. I run 3-4 times per week and itread can be two at most. the other two need to be steady state and easy paced or I risk injury. However that is just me. Like other Catheites, I try to work my whole body each week with weights. The method varies, but currently I am using the 4DSplit series and am adding in one pilates class per week.

This morning was iTread 6 outdoor. That is a great outdoor run for me, except at the end when Grace has one last sprint, I am on my hardest hill of the run. So I can not truly sprint. After a good stretch at my car I did some grocery shopping and now it is Clean Max. I just popped in for a water break. ( Last Monday and today, I parked at the Wegman's parking lot and started my run form there. Then after a stretch, I was right there for grocery shopping)

Hi ttyl...

Thank you for the infor. I have been searching the Forums for anything in the way of a rotation and haven't come up with anything yet. What started this search was a question from Mom with 2 princes further up in this check-in. She was looking for Nov's rotation.

How do you use them and which ones do you use or like best?

:)

Hi Judy,

Thank you for your reply. I would have to agree that running intervals several times a week in a row is a bad idea. That would also include hill training more than once a week.

In my neighborhood I have wooded trails, a great hilly 3.5 loop and an out and back 4.6miler. The are different sites for each of these from woods with large overlooks, sanddunes and open ocean views. Perfect runners heaven. :)

Take Care and happy trails!
Heidi

Heidi,

I believe you are referring to me. although I wasn't asking for the nov rotation. I have used the isculpts and istrengths. depending on my goals. a rotation may look like this
m-istrength UB, found on the icycle/strength workout
t-itread
w-istrength legs and abs
t-iclimb or icycle
f-fB istength or isculpt
s-longer itread
sun- rest or yoga

i have really enjoyed my itrain rotations!!

HTH...

Good Afternoon Girlies!:)

I just finished my work out. I wasn't up to starting Slo Mo today but didn't feel a complete rest day was needed either so I did 6 minute abs and the entire vinyasa segment of Yoga X. I definately feel like I worked out but with out draining myself. :)

I will see how I feel tmrw. Maybe Slo Mo can finally happen!:p

I'm having quite a hard time coming up with ideas for the gift exchange which is odd for me since I am seem to find new things to buy online every other week! Problem is that when I see them, I BUY THEM!:7 I will keep workin' on it though. I PROMISE!:)

GTG for now but I'll be back later on for personals.

Have a nice afternoon everyone! :)

I just came up with a few more gift ideas. Hopefully this will make it easier on whomever has my name.

- Cardio Coach PUMP!
- Cardio Coach Vol 6
- Cardio Coach Vol 7
- Hat and Gloves

Sorry, I don't have more time to chat with everyone. The day is getting away from me. So much to do, so little time.

I’m back! Got in LIC cardio blast and LIS (no combo though – ya’ll know what I think of the combo’s with those outer thighs in the middle :+). Took me about 70 minutes. I added on B&G abs as well. Was going to do S&H legs today, but had to run DD18 to the doctors for yet another bladder infection. She has an appointment with an Urologist, thank heavens. I think she needs it. This is the third in the last 6 weeks. I just don’t think they’re clearing up. I’ll do S&H legs and Shoulders tomorrow.

Lorie – glad you’re feeling better and that you’re talking again. Oh, you’ll have a blast with Imax 2! Imax 3 isn’t so much dancier but it’s not as well cued. Imax 2 is perfect. How’d you like it?

Carole – Ouch – 2 miles of down hill is killer on the quads!! Hope you enjoyed your cardio workout – and it made the soreness better. Oh, now I have to get Slo-Mo and I have to wait until after the Cheetah gifts arrive because I asked for it… I hate when I get impatient! :+

Heidi – WELCOME!! Haven’t done any iTrain rotations, but I use them with my outdoor runs.

Sunny – hope the ole knees feel better soon! Ice ‘em! Don’t rethink your half. Maybe you just need to train a little differently. Go for a shorter run next week or something. But then again, if you really think you’ll be hurt, don’t push it.

Jackie - You’re the Cheetah on the go! Glad you enjoyed your rest day! Hope you get your walk.

Wendy – Good job at listening to your body! I hope you get to start Slo Mo tomorrow!!! Hope you’re feeling better, too!

Kristi – Good ideas!

Evening Cheetahs!:)

Kristi: Hope your DH arrives safely in GA. Enjoy your run tonight after the kiddos are in bed.

Christine: I knew Radcliffe had a baby girl whom I heard was 9 months old but I didn't know she went running for an hour the day before she went into labor! I did Cardio and Weights the day before I went into labor...does that compare? Probably not!:p Ofcourse, I wasn't a runner at that time so I have that as my excuse!LOL

Lorie: If I were you I'd tell DF to stay home and let you do LV with just the girls since he wants to wait on the wedding!:p }(

Carole: Glad you enjoyed slo mo today. I am still hoping to be able to tackle it this week even if I only have time for a premix of some sort.

Jackie: Have a safe and wonderful trip hon!:)

K, I think I'm caught up on personals for the moment. Not much goin' on here at the moment. Dinner is done. We had pasta. :9 BF is coming over for training tonight. I have her doing a new routine. This will be her 3rd time doing it. FUN FUN! I am working on upper and lower body splits mixed in with some cardio for next month. She's done all full body work outs thus far. Time to change that up!!!}(

I guess I should get my butt off of this computer chair for a bit. I'll probably pop back in to see what's goin' on after BF leaves.

Have a great night!:7

To all the Cheetahs,

Thank you all for the advice and help with trying to figure out if there was some sort of rotation for these iTread programs.

I hope everyone has had a good workout today or recovery if you just ran the race in NY.

Heidi :)

i haven't been able to catch up on posts. just as i got to work (after doing IMAX2 which was an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!!), i had to go and see one of my kids that i've been working with as she had written a suicide note (one of the saddest things i have ever read). thank god her parents found it. anyway, i stayed with her and then we took her to the hospital to be admitted. it's so sad. this is a beautiful, smart, honors student, funny, fit...to look at her you would think she has everything. she is just so sad. there was no precipitating event (like a breakup, etc.), i think it's just chemical.

anyway, i went to the hospital with her parents and her and just got home. i know she is in the best place she can be but my heart breaks for her being there alone. :(

anyway, needless to say, i have not checked my computer or eaten so i am going to meet df for sushi. i will try to come back later but it may be tomorrow.

oh, AND DID I MENTION WHAT A BLAST I HAD DOING IMAX2??? :p

Hi everyone! What a day! Monday, Monday! x(

Christine - That would be so great if we could all run a 1/2 together! Great workout! I know I gain a few pounds the day after I do a heavy weight workout! When I did P90X, I gained around 3 pounds and the same with S&H. It is so funny how our bodies "do their thing" to balance things out!

Cathy - LOL...you poor thing! A similar thing happened to us this morning. I set all of the clocks back except for one! The coffee maker! I set it to start like always. DH always wakes up to the "beeping" when the coffee is done. And it brewed at 3:00 a.m, instead of 4:00. So he got up, went downstairs and took his shower before he realized what happened. He ate breakfast and then sat in his recliner and went back to sleep for an hour :p I felt so guilty :+ So...did you "do" your hair? ;-) I hope you get some wonderful rest on your trip!

Jackie - I am glad your legs are feeling better today! A little walking sounds good! I should have done some of that, but I didn't do anything. What was the weather like in Memphis? Was it still hot? Or on the cooler side?

Lori - Sorry you didn't get much rest! I hate when I am sooo tired, but can't sleep!

Shelley - That comment that the patient made was so funny! Glad your are getting some "help"! Even though your are training them, maybe it will be a tad easier than doing it by yourself! Good job on your workout yesterday!

Sunny - Oops! I saw SM on your post yesterday and just assumed it was SM. I thought that would be rough after the long run that you did :+ LOL...sorry:) Yes, Stretch Max would feel much better after that!

Wendy - I feel like you about being so happy that I was able to complete it! i agree 100%! That is cool that our time is close! I hope your back gets better! You poor thing! And send your cold packing, too!

Wendi - Your plan for the week looks great! I love BBC! Seems like that one really gives me DOMS, no matter how often I do it! I love it!

Judy - That is cool about your Pilates class! The run before the class sounds good! Enjoy!

Kristi - Hi Kristi! I love how you run while watching Dancing with the Stars! That would be a great time to do it! Then you would have a lot of good music to run by and definitely not be bored! Hope DH makes it okay to Georgia!

Lorie - I am sooo glad you are feeling better and that the "weight" has been lifted! That is so good! Glad you guys have worked things out!

Carole - Glad you like your Amy workout! I previewed it yesterday and it looks great. I plan to do one tomorrow morning! I am excited about it and knowing you liked it helps!

I am having trouble thinking thinking of what I need for the Secret Snowman/Santa :+ But...here is what I can think of:

Sweat bands (the dry fit kind)
weight lifting gloves
The book "Marley and Me"
Reflective vest
Cathe cap

Gee...I can't think....I like everything! :7

Hi to anyone I may have missed and hope everyone has a great night!

Linda

Lorie - You must have posted your last post while I was typing, but I wanted to say that is so sad the girl you have been working with! I hope she does okay!

LInda

Sunny :: I just PM’d you…Rethinking your HM??? I missed that! You’ve come this far…I hope you don’t have to turn back now.

Wendi :: I’m a little stressed but am working to stay positive and just be focused on the kids and doing my job to the best of my ability. I remind myself that my critics don’t know me, they don’t know anything about reading instruction, and they apparently do not know much about teenage kids…I don’t know how long ago K. Holmes had her baby…I’ve seen the little one in tabloids…she is maybe close to two?

Judy :: thanks! I am OK – a tad stressed but OK. Still, the cheetah support means so much…Have you taken pilates before?…How was Chicago & the tournament?

Wendy :: PM’d you also…Sorry the cold is lingering and your back’s still sore…The RnR marys do look fun. Disney just seems like it would be a scenic route with great crowds and fanfare to keep you going. But then again, I'm the kind of dork who gets pumped up by people who run races in costume. It’s a thought, anyways...have fun torturing your BF, Ms. TFH. ;)

Kristi :: things have been especially chatty around here lately ~ it *is* tough, at times, to keep up! Your DH is on the road quite a bit, huh?

Christine :: ran for an HOUR the day before she gave BIRTH??? Wow…Yeah, I had to do my hair. A fellow teacher even gave me a compliment on it. (Doesn’t take much to impress if it usually looks like a rat’s nest. *lol*) Absolutely agree about meeting the cheetahs in person…I PM’d you also.

Lorie :: glad to hear you and DF are working things out and keeping your LV plans. Good to know you are feeling better about the whole situation…glad you enjoyed Imax2…so sorry to hear about your student, but I’m glad she was able to get help.

Carole :: foam roller time for the quads?…Thanks for your PMs…you rock!!!…*lol* about your sis saying you could walk it…Good for you sleeping in. It is so rare I can do that, even if I have the time. My body is just wired to wake early…thanks for the Slo-Mo review…sounds good.

Jackie our jetsetter :) :: I probably missed you, but have a great time on your trip. Glad your legs feel better today…Oh boy! Can you be a little more specific with your gift ideas? Sizes? Colors? Patterns? Typical style of jewelry? I don’t have you, but I bet your pollyanna is wondering…thank you for the good thoughts and prayers. The cheetahs are simply phenomenal women.

Linda :: Poor DH! I didn’t really mind being up, but I will probably crash early tonight...I did do my hair. :)

Heidi :: Not a regular iTread user here, but just wanted to say hello.

Well, this post was interrupted by a nearly hour-long conversation with one of my bosses followed by another conversation with a colleague about The Issue. I think I will just save bi's and tri's for tomorrow. I’ve lost my steam for tonight but since I have the day off tomorrow, putting in a marathon session won’t be an issue.

Good evening Chatty Cheetahs ;)!

Well, after a rather eventful day at work (which I wasn't even supposed to work) I was actually able to get a workout in...yay for me, J/K! I did 4DSBC, Bi's and Tri's today and moved HIS/LIS to tomorrow. By this afternoon my legs had something to say about Scrambled Eggs from yesterday morning so I figured I'd cut them some slack in the step department today. I was thrilled when I actualy got through all of the dips on the ball...I didn't make it the first time.

Wendy - Have fun training with your BF tonight! I do hope you feel better soon and your mystery pain vanishes as quickly as it appeared. Hopefully the yoga loosened things up a bit. I'm looking into becoming a radiology tech...short course study that I can do some of online and some on campus which is 1.5 miles from my house and there is a very high demand in my area. After completing that and getting a *normal* job I'd love to pursue an ACE (or other) certification and perhaps be able to do some personal training on the side...just a thought. I HATE my hours but, for right now, it keeps a roof over my head.

Judy - Yeah, things have been a bit crazy around here the past few days. Grocery shopping and a run...that's multi-tasking at its finest! I couldn't do that...people would run out of the supermarket screaming at the sight of me after a run .

Kristi - I hope you are able to get your run in tonight. I hope your DH has a safe trip.

Christine - Oh, so sorry to hear about your DD. I hope those clear up quickly! I'll have to remember your little mish mosh in the future. I had a feeling you'd be on my back about my workout tonight so there, I did it just for you :p! Considering I had to eat out for lunch I'm happy with how I did today...
B - spinach, mushroom, egg white omelette
S - 1/2 cup steel cut oats with 1/2 an apple
L - Ruby Tuesday's...salad bar (YUMMY!) and white bean chicken chili...okay not completely clean but definitely the best option on their menu lol.
D - turkey meatloaf, steamed broccoli and peppers, sweet dumpling squash
S - grilled banana with a big dollop of Greek yogurt

Lorie - I'm so glad that things have, at least, settled down for you and DF. However, I wish your luck would turn around soon. I'm so sorry to hear about your student. You are an amazingly dedicated teacher...she's lucky to have someone like you in her corner. I knew you'd enjoy Imax 2...how could you not? That one has such an amazing fun factor to it!!!

Carole - It sounds like you had a great workout today. I hope those quads loosen up for you...yeouch!

Sunny - WTG on the new workout. Rest those knees!

Jackie - I'm sure I missed you but I hope you have a great trip and are able to slow down a bit when you return home.

Linda - I'm actually a bit askeered of the DOMS from BBC...it'll be my first time trying them . Your poor hubby...isn't it funny how the coffee pot is the one thing that messes us up? I did the exact same thing the other morning lol.

Cathy - Please don't let The Issue get under your skin. It sounds like you have made such a positive impression on your kids. If you didn't know what you were doing I don't think they would be the amazing bunch that you've told us about. I hope you are able to leave it all on the mainland for those few days you are on that cruise. Please try not to dwell on it, hon.

Sending lots of {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}} and prayers to those who need it tonight. See you in the early am!

Man am I beat! Stressful day, I guess.

Wendy – I’m impressed that you did C&W the day before you delivered! And YES I think that compares! That’s something to be proud of! Enjoy training DBF!

Lorie – wow – when it rains it pours, doesn’t it? I think being a girl now-a-days is very tough. You have to be beautiful, smart, athletic, etc. Sounds like this poor girl has it all, but what does she have to do to keep it? Poor thing. She and her parents are in my prayers. I love Imax 2 as well – I knew you would! Glad you had a big bright spot in your day!

Linda – wouldn’t that be fun? A big half with all of us! I just refuse to get all up in arms about the scale – I use it as a guide, not the gospel. I’m constantly amazed by the way my weight changes day-to-day.

Cathy – just letting you know, once again, that I’m in your corner. You’re a fabulous teacher and I wish you were teaching in my district and teaching my daughter. I hope those conversations were good. I can imagine that you get very tired discussing all this. You’re in my thoughts and prayers, sweetie!

Wendi – you kill me! Glad I could get you to workout this evening! Isn’t it nice being held accountable?! I wouldn’t be on your back – I know hoe it goes – I’ve seen your schedule! But good job none-the-less! And bless you for keeping me straight!! My meals for today:
B – protein shake w/ peaches and banana
S – egg whites with soy sausage, spinach and tomatoes
L – Greek salad – Green Leaf lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta cheese, red wine vinegar
S – bean and rice burrito
D – pork loin, rice and a salad

Hello Cheetahs! I'm back very briefly to catch up on a few personals.

Cathy - I hope everything works out for you at work with whatever you are facing. I'm positive you are a wonderful teacher to your students.

Jackie - Sorry your HM didn't go as you had hoped. The course does make a difference. Maybe picking a more scenic HM next time will rekindle your love for the distance. You should be proud that you ran the race. Congratulations! You still made good time!

Linda - Congratulations with your HM too! I'm so proud of you. Keep this up and you'll be running your dream marathon in no time. If you could choose any marathon to run, which would it be? I would want to so someplace fun like Disney World or for a good cause like St Jude's.

Christine - I had a wonderful time in Indy. My 3 DBs and I are very close even though we all were raised by different people during our high school years. Long story. What's this you mention about a Cheetah HM get together? I still want to do one. I am very disappointed that I couldn't swing Vegas with the other cheetahs in December.

Lorie - Big ((HUGS)) coming your way girl! I know this whole situation with your DF and FMIL must be weighing heavily on you. Follow your heart. Best wishes!

Well, sorry I have ran out of time. I need to hit the sack. 5 a.m. is very early for me. I need to get the kids and myself out the door early so I can vote before work. That means the kiddos need to go with me. However, they love doing that. Talk at ya tomorrow. Have a good night!
