G’morning, cheetah babes :) ~ *is* it morning??

Yesterday was BBC L&B only – by the time I finished work around the house + the last of the journal grading, that was all there was time for before heading out to Outback for dinner. Today begins a recovery week, so the rotation calls for YogaX, but most likely I will sub something else for it. Not sure which one yet.

The Nor’easter is still pourin’ on us – it’s so dark & dreary!

Shelly :: How cute is Spanky sprawled on the recliner like that! Glad he was a good boy overnight. Believe it or not, if I’d had time, I had a strange hankering to do B&G (I’ve been craving it lately)…BBC L&B burned (it always felt longer than 30, 60, or 90 seconds to me!), but I probably *could* have handled B&G afterward — or at least part of it. You must be having an influence on me. :) Pretty soon, I’ll want to do all that and THEN run 7 miles, too. *lol*

Linda :: Sounds like your body just needed some extra rest. I went to bed early again last night – around 9-ish.

Jackie :: I feel the same about Walmart – I avoid that place like the plague. It always seems to be overrun with people, and everything is jammed in there so tight. Ugh! I’ll take Target any day…Oh, you absolutely earned that first place finish & have every right to be proud!! Hope your soreness is gone.

Heather :: I’m glad you were able to shake off those ignorant comments by that other poster…If I’m not mistaken, the average women’s size in America is now a 14, so a size 8 would be plenty to crow about, and by no means should it be considered “fat.” Too many people have unhealthy perceptions about weight – keep doing what you’re doing and tune out those voices.

Christine :: It sounds like bringing Jimmy home was the right thing for everyone. SO happy for you guys!

Susan :: glad all is going well with mixing in the running again!…Oh, man…COOKIES!!!!

Have a good Monday, everyone! :)
Cathy :)

Well, how 'bout that? My school is closed today b/c of flooding/road closures. OK, so today I'm likin' Monday just a lil bit :)

~Cathy :)

Good morning: I had a very nice weekend. The weather finally turned around for us and in fact will be 70 degrees today - WooHoo.

Cathy - YIPPEE.....those unexpected days off, I bet are so nice - ENJOY!!

I have a board meeting tonight, so I'm not looking forward to going to work, but that's what I have to do x(

I ran twice this weekend, both times around 2 miles and then walked a couple more to finish out my workout. BOY - am I glad I canceled out of that 10K, there's no way I'd be ready in a few weeks. I forgot what it's like to start all over again.

I'm off to sit on the patio and enjoy a cup of coffee in the nice cool/warm morning. I'll be back before I get ready for work.

Marcia.

Hi Friends :)

Cathy- We still have a regularly scheduled Monday despite the heavy snow I see out the window. x(

Marcia- You finally have the good weather!

Heather- Many times people selfishly will make rude comments that really only reveals their insecurity. ( They think the look good by putting someone else down) I didn't read what was said to you, but brush it aside. They are only words my friend.

Jackie- nice going on your race!!!!!

Linda- We had a quiet day /evening too. Dh had a very busy call weekend and we all needed to chill. I didn't even cook. We ordered out italian food.

I am planning on some legs and a 4 mile run on the TM since we have snow, snow, snow and high winds.

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

WOW Judy, sorry to hear you are getting dumped on like we did last week with snow and wind! Rest assured, it won't stay long. ;-) It's very frustrating though, that's for sure!

Marcia.

Hi Marcia & Judy :)

Marcia :: I don't own any of the TaeBos and have not seen this one. I remember my sister had one of his earlier workout sets when they first came out, and I tried it, but for some reason, I didn't care for it. I heard that Billy Blanks' cueing has improved, but for whatever reason, I just haven't been curious. I'm interested in hearing what others think, though...So glad you are enjoying some mild temps for a change. 70 sounds perfect!

Judy :: Glad you were able to enjoy some quiet yesterday...It is snowing here, too, but it's all one big messy mix. I'm glad not to be out there driving in it. Hope you don't have to make the long trip for hockey today.

~Cathy :)

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!:)

I had a fun but tiring weekend. I have not exercised since friday BUT I was walking around NYC all day on saturday so that has to count for SOMETHING, right? :p

I am OFFICIALLY done with my X rotation! WOOH!!!!!!:7 :7 :7 I have to get DH to take pics this week.

Now that I am an X graduate I have officially digressed back to the indecisive Cheetah that I was prior to starting that rotation. LOL I have changed my rotation plan for BBC several times and just can't decide what to do!x( Here is my newest possiblity:

M: Arms and Abs/Running Class
T: Butt and Legs**
W: Chest and Abs/Chin Ups**
R: Spin/Yoga
F: Shoulders and Back**
S: Full Body/Run
S: Rest

**Do a BBC cardio on only ONE of these 3 days each week.

Maybe I should just collect all of the rotations and do a different one each week!:p ...Hey wait a minute! That's actually not a BAD idea!:+

Good morning everyone!

Heather - I'm glad you're feeling much better. I don't suffer from SAD but I prefer lots of sunshine. It makes me feel better.

Cathy - Hope you have a good recovery week. I'm looking forward to throwing one in after my 10K. Can you believe my legs are still sore? Enjoy that extra day off. I feel for the Boston Marathoners today but I'm sure they're use to it.

Marcia - Hoping we reach 70 today too. I'm ready for spring to come back out of hiding.

Judy - Glad you had a relaxing night. Have a good run today.

Wendy - Welcome back! Missed your posts! Glad you had fun. Doing a different rotation every week sounds like a plan to me.

I did a 2 mile run, 20 minutes on the ellip, Super Body Sculpt LB and Abs and some extra stretching. The run helped to loosen these sore legs up some. I'll probably use the foam roller when I get home to see if I can't get rid of the rest of the soreness. Think I need to put some more hill work into my runs.

Have a great start to your week!

Jackie

Good mornng cheetahs!

Had a great time in Reno! Won $32 on a penny machine...:)..The Wheelchair Basketball was awesome to watch. The drive of these guys is just amazing. This was John's first time playing and he did really well. Our team won all 3 of their games!! I did get some pictures so I will post some later when I get them on my PC. We did alot of walking and a 4 mile walk (in the cold!) sunday morning. My aches and pains feel pretty good today!!

Cathy...I saw the nasty weather you are having on the news! I do hope it clears up soon. Enjoy your monday off. How are you liking BBC?

Marcia...sounds like some nice weather for you today!

Judy...have a good TM run and leg workout.

Wendy...I walked alot this weekend too, and yes I think it counts!! Congrats on the "X" finishing! I think your rotation looks good.

Jackie...congrats on your 1st place!!! I did read thru the posts from the weekend and need to catch up a bit...sounds like a good workout today.

I am planning on a run this morning. Also floor legs, abs and GS BSB at some point...

I'll be back...:)

Christine...love the pics of Jimmy! He is adorable and seems to fit right into your family...:)..cute how he is always at your feet.

Heather...I cannot believe someone posted a size 8 was fat!! Ah, but then maybe I can believe it as sometimes people post without thinking. You are a lovely person inside and out and I so look forward to meeting you in August. Sizes have never mattered to me as I feel it is all about what is inside...:)..Congrats on the weight loss!

Shelly...the pic of Spanky is sooooo cute!

Good Morning lovely Cheetah Babes –

Dropped DD14 off at school this morning for a trip to New York – and the flight is delayed for 2 hours (fun – Guess we did not need to get up at 3:45AM!!). I actually kind of hope they cancel the flight and the kids come home – I’m worried about her flying into the weather out there. I’ll happily drive to San Francisco to get her as long as she’s safe.

The Boston Marathon this year looks REALLY bad – the path they’re running is directly into 30-35 mph winds! OUCH!!

I was so tired that I came back and slept on the sofa so I didn’t wake up DH. Jimmy went with me to drop DD14 off so he was tired from meeting so many people and slept with me (or should I say ON me?). I’m feeling much better now. He’s attacking a squeaky toy that one of our neighbors brought as a gift. Although he was funny this morning – he saw his reflection in the sliding glass doors and starting barking at it. Goof ball. He also howls like a little wolf (literally – throws his head back and howls – not barks) when he’s left alone. I need to get him used to spending some time without us!! He goes in to the vet for his puppy check up this morning.

Not sure what I’ll be doing today – I’ll probably pop in a Spinervals and maybe a tough core workout. We’ll see. It won’t be until after I get back from the Vet. And no, I’m not showering before hand – they deal with animals – they can handle this human animal before a shower… :+

Cathy – Aahhhh! Sigh of relief that you don’t have school this morning. Enjoy another day off. I am jealous, but I am also working from home, so

Marcia – Sorry to hear about the board meeting tonight – those are never fun! Glad you had a great weekend and you’re having some fabulous weather right now! Yeah! I’ve heard mixed reviews of Tae Bo Amped. It’s not supposed to be as tough as the original Advanced and Get Ripped series. It’s a solid intermediate level workout. But I did hear you really feel it in your abs with the stick.

Judy – sorry about the snow and wind! Ick. I hate that kind of weather. Enjoy your workout.

Wendy – WAY TO GO!!! You’ve completed the “X”!!! Doesn’t that feel great! But, does that mean I have to put together a rotation and stick with it? Do you want your title back? LOL

Jackie – sounds like a great workout!

Carole – YEAH!! A winner in our midst! I’m so happy for John!! I cannot wait to see the photos. Sounds like you just had an awesome time. Good for you. We missed you! Enjoy your run! Jimmy says HI and that he hopes to go trail running with you one day when he’s older.

Well, I guess I should go get ready for the Vets. Have to take Kimo, too for her follow up. It’s a nice little challenge to take both pups out anywhere at this time. Have a fabulous day everyone!!

Wayward Cheetah checking in. I am not a Cheetah as I'm not running, but I am officially on day 2 of P90X!!!! (you can see my post in open forum- thanks to Cathy & Marcia for chiming in!)

We did our fit test Sat, took our before (and good bye) pics y'day & Greg & I did Chest & Back last night!!! I'm excited that he's doing it w/ me & he is actually more excited about it than I thought. He even said he'd do the yoga because he needs to work on his flexibility. He makes me laugh though, so that makes it hard doing pushups. I'm happy to say how well I did on the pushups but still can't do a *real* pullup. I used the chair though & that worked great!! We have a chinup bar in the garage, so we would just pause & run out to the garage to do our pullups/ chinups. It worked great & we got a little cardio running up & down the stairs. ;-) I did PlyoX this morning, not as intense as I thought it would be. Cathe's trained us well w/ the plyo exercises. I might do it again w/ my dh tonight. }(

OK, update on sickie girl. She's been fever free since Friday & still doing the nebulizer. It's not hurting her anymore, so I take that as a good sign. She still doesn't enjoy it (I think because she can't talk for that time!! She's my girl!) but she is so much better. She sat & did ALL of her homework on Friday, she wouldn't stop until she was done (2 1/2 hrs later!). Of course, I was helping her & keeping her company but she did it all herself. We went to church y'day & she went to school just for this morning. She has her appt at the GI Dr. this afternoon that we made 2 mos ago so I was not cancelling it. We will see what they want to do about her allergies/ tummy issues. Poor girl has had a bad winter.

Oh, and my best friend's ds (Kiersten's boyfriend ;-) ) is in the hospital w/ pneumonia & strep!! (and no, they haven't been around each other in 2 weeks so it wasn't shared germs!) He's doing better, but we went to visit for a minute y'day. And my bf's bday is tomorrow!

OK, I'm feelin' chatty now. Thanks for listening. I did go to the Y finally on Sat morning & did 35 min elliptical & 20 min swim.

Have a great Monday!

Good morning ladies,
I have very little time to post today, so I will make it quick:) I am taking my best friend today to get a mammogram. She has a very large lump under her right breast and they think it may be ductal carinoma insitu(SP?) and she is really scared, so I told her I would take her. I hope it is okay.

I am taking rest day today. I am starting the no cookie diet today}( I really have to clean up my eating and I am starting AGAIN today.

I gotta run ladies. Have a great Monday:)

Susan

Good morning and happy Monday to all the cheetahs:7 Temps were below freezing here this morning. I know that is ho hum for you easterners but it is quite unusual for this time of year where I am.
I'm having a difficult time getting up the motivation to head out for my long run. I'll keep in mind all those poor people running in the Boston Marathon today:eek: Cold and rain aren't too bad to deal with but those winds on top of it??? Yikes!

Cathy- woohoo ... an unexpected Spring Break extension:7 :7 Sounds like a good day to be staying indoors and doing a crazy sweaty workout}(

Marcia- Wow, temps in the 70s today!!! How nice for you... I know it's been a long winter for ya. Great job on your runs but I think you could finish a 10k myself ;-)

Judy- I just can't imagine dealing with alot of snow this time of year:eek: I guess you're not having to drive to Buffalo today... just as well!

Wendy- So you are an official X grad now:7 :7 I gotta hand it to you having the determination to stick with the rotation. I almost never do set rotations, my schedule is too varying for that and I just get bored to quickly also! I like your idea of using different variations of a BBC rotation each week!

Jackie- Hills are quite the bugaboo aren't they? If you make them a weekly routine they won't phase you at all after a while. I guess I'm fortunate that way. Where I live I have to go out of my way and search for a place to run where there are no hills!

Carole- I'm so glad that John performed well at the basketball game!!
do you think he could get interested in training for a wheelchair marathon? Have a great run today!

Christine- I can just picture Jimmy barking at his reflection... puppies give us so much laughter as well as love, makes the work of training all very much worth it. Hope your vet visit goes smoothly.
I'll be doing the same tomorrow with 3 dogs  But at least I'll have DH with me to help.

I've been trying to come up with reasons to stall my run.... very uncharacteristic of me! Okay Shelly.... get your fanny in gear and GO!!! It'll be 14 miles today... complete with the usual assortment of hills

Later y'all

ShellyC

Hi Jess--- you're a cheetah at heart and that's all that counts!!!
Glad to hear that Kiersten is doing better:) Sounds like you are off to a great start with p90X:7 PlyoX is alot of fun but I agree, not all that challenging!

Susan- You are quite a friend to be supporting your friend at this time. If it does indeed turn out to be the ductal type of breast ca that is actually a form which has a very high rate of success with treatment. If caught early enough breast cancer cure rates (not just remission) are quite high.... about 75%. It's still quite a scary thing to be facing and your support will be invaluable to her!!!

ShellyC

Hey Ladies.

My goodness I feel like I have been such a bad Cheetah. I haven't been keeping up with this thread at all lately....:-( I am ready to redeem myself though! I have a few mins while I slug down some coffee before my work out to get some personals in!:)

Cathy...So what are you doin' with your extra day off girl? :) BTW, I have not been ignoring your April 29th question. I was thinking of going for waxing that day but I don't need to. If you want to meet up, I'd rather meet a Cheetah then get tortured! LOL

Marcia...Don't worry about cancelling that 10K. You did what you had to do. Keep up with your running and you can enter one over the summer. I haven't done a 10K yet. I am hoping to run one soon as well!:+ No matter what rotation I am doing I will continue to squeeze in atleast one run per week. I need it in order to keep my endurance up. When I first started the X I didn't run for 2 weeks and definately felt the difference when I went back and that was only 2 weeks!

Judy...How was your TM run? Have you ever used CC or ITrain while on the TM? Forgive me if I should know the answer to that question...my brain is like a seive! LOL I have decidedto alternate rotations with BBC for a few weeks. It will certainly keep it interesting!:)

Jackie...I'm glad to be back. It's always nice to hear I was missed too. Thanks. :) I love running after doing LB work or running with LB doms as it really does help work out the kinks! Great work out today. I need to hire you as my trainer!:+

Carole...Glad you had fun in Reno. I am so glad to hear that John was in the B-ball tournament! That's wonderful! I hope he enjoyed participating as much as you and yours sisters enjoyed watching it!!!

Christine...Your DD will be fine though I can understand mom worrying! It's what we do best, right? ;) I saw the pic of Jimmy and OMG what a doll!!!!! I'm sure he'll be very happy in his new home!:+

Susan...Hugs and prayers for your friend. They found something in my mom's breast a few months ago. She had a biopsy done and it ended up being nothing. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the same happens for your friend.

Shelly...YOU are having a hard time motivating!? Holy cow! I think the sky is falling!!! LOL :p :7 I totally get not sticking with a set rotation! I can't believe I made it through the X as I am one who has a hard time sticking to rotations too! Heck, I haven't even done the first BBC work out and I'm already waivering on what to do!!! LOL :7

Jess...Have fun with the X! That's great that your DH will be doing it with you! Hugs to your sick DD! You mentioned her sick friend in the hospital...when DS was in PICU, there was a little girl in the room next door who had pneumonia. :-(

Okay ladies...I can almost see the bottom of my coffee cup so I need to move it before I lose it!;)

I'll come back afterwards to let you know how it went! I've never done BBC Arms and Abs and I intend to add chin ups in between some exercises like Tony does in Arms and Back! }(

BBL...if I can type!:7 :7 :7

Well, I am done with Arms and Abs (no cardio)! What a work out! I put a set of chin ups in after the warm up and then after every 2 exercises of barry's. I only did what I could unassisted until the last set. At that point I did assisted to finish it off. The #'s are pretty sad BUT I was unable to do an unassisted chin up 3 months ago so I will take whatever I can get! LOL I managed 1.5 chin ups every set (5 sets) and then did 8 assisted as well on the final set. I burned my tri's up with only 5# DB's!!! I went with 8's on biceps and have to admit it was too light so I will go with 10's next time!}( I'm writing it down...just like Tony has been telling me to!;)

Oh and btw, I got a response from SNM in regards to that PM I got. They said it wasn't from them. I figured as much but just wanted to be sure!
