RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, ladies! J

Wendy—Makes sense that you were feeling a bit rundown. You were beginning a cold and worked a long night at a new job that must’ve been a little stressful for you at first, so your body probably needed a little more rest than usual. I see you bounced back quickly, though! Glad the run left you feelin’ good. College is not for everyone. I’m sure you’ll figure out what’ll work for you. A massage is always money well spent, IMO, but this one was tops. I think my leg muscles needed it more than I realized.

Christine—going into Monday kicking and screaming is just a waste of energy, IMO. Even when I’m not looking forward to it, I just fake it. J It works for me. Glad you enjoyed dinner with DD15. Was it a blind date when you met DH or did you just happen to meet him there?

Carole—thanks, nothing I can do to speed up now, anyway, so I might as well enjoy it. J The word somehow leaked at work, and now I have folks coming up to me and asking me about it, and generally, non-runners’ responses seem to be impressed that anyone would want to run this far, period, regardless of time. That's kinda nice. Glad the fall weather arrived out there! So, you are pushing up to 5 days now or 6?

Linda—Patty does not want to taper??? I never heard of anyone doing that before. I think you are wise to let her do her own thing on that. I’m smiling at our hill/gradual incline discussion. None of them are easy for me!

Jackie I’m one of those people who is not a Monday hater, which I think annoys the hell out of everyone else. Even if I’m feelin’ a little roughed up on a Monday morning or not ready for the weekend to be over, I try to just get past it right away rather than grumble about the day before it’s already started. So yes, I had a great Monday! :) It did end with a migraine, unfortunately, but it was otherwise a productive & enjoyable day. I love IMAX theaters. Sounds like a full weekend. Darnit, did DWTS start last night? I missed it. I heard Maks is back. *hubba hubba* :)

KarenWinging it, sort of, is right. I’d planned to stick with circuits, anyway, so there’d have been no need to re-invent the wheel. I'm just continuing to follow the rotation loosely, as I have been. Considering the busy factor, I do consider it a success to fit in 4 or 5 workouts a week instead of 6. Though last week it was runs onlynot ideally what I wanted to do, but oh well. Sorry the dentist appointment fouled up your plans. Nice job with the run & PUB combo.

GloriaThe circuit never happened ‘cause a migraine did. Same is true for me with music, too. I need to sit down and make a good running playlist for Chicago…Glad you got through those papers. Don’tcha love how one stack disappears and another forms? J I went to bed early, too. Similar week here at my end. When it’s busy like this, any exercise at all has to be considered a good thing. I thought the same thing about the equinox when I first read that. Ah, the power of the preposition. J

Wendi—sounds like just the right way to honor and celebrate a dear friend’s life. *raises tea glass* To MK!

Yesterday’s circuit plan was thrown for a loop when a migraine hit me after school. I could not work out. Not dwelling on it. I contemplated heading out for a run in the wee hours this morning, but I’m still feelin’ a tad walloped. I have an appointment first thing after school, but it shouldn’t take too long. Look forward to getting out there in this gorgeous fall weather.

Have a fantastic Tuesday!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Cathy - Oh no, another mirgraine:(? Hon, I'm getting a bit worried about ya...I don't recall you ever getting them with this kind of frequency. Now, I'm no doc, that is for sure, but I'm really starting to wonder if it is tied to all of your eye issues OR, perhaps, any changes of prescription. I know they've been playing around with your scrip lately. Again, JMHO, but I feel so bad for you having to deal with this....{{{HUGS}}}. Hope your appt goes quickly so you can get your workout in. *Raising my coffee cup right back at ya*...CLINK!

So, once again, my apologies for not making it back with personals last night. I got home from work far later than expected. I ended up hanging out with MK's husband who is staying at the farm for a couple of days (to get away from "stuff", you know) and we talked for awhile:). So, between that and the fact that I've had this annoying little head cold (see, that's what I get for making fun of Wendy for having the runs;)) I wasn't up for any kind of workout other than dinner and bed lol. Was hoping to feel up to a run this morning but, nope, not yet. Maybe tonight?

Let me get this posted and I'll be back with yesterday's personals. BBIAB!

Wendy - Glad to hear you had a blast bartending and brought home some good moola:D. Something to consider, perhaps;)? Hey, when you're ready to put your nose to the grindstone and go hardcore with your workouts and eating you'll know...maybe you just need a teensy break before tackling the X:eek:. Yeah, so I made fun of you for having the "runs" and now I have 'em...that'll teach me to keep my mouth shut:p.

Christine - LOVED reading your ride report....sounds like you had a blast!!! And then sushi on the water afterward? Fantastic day!!! Oh, at the wake, a bottle of Grappa was passed around to share and all I can say is WOW:eek::eek::eek:...talk about strong, yikes!

Carole - Glad to hear that you are starting to enjoy some fall-like weather out there. So glad to hear that it sounds like there's a mary on the horizon for you...you must be excited.

Linda - Uh, no expert, but your friend sounds a bit insane:eek::p. NO taper AND running the full distance?!?! Definitely the Energizer Bunny...hmmmm, sounds like you're running with Shelly:p, LOL, J/K!

Jackie - Glad to hear you had a nice weekend with DBF. Righteous Kill??? Never heard of that one but, then again, I rarely even turn on the TV these days *shrugs*, except for a Cathe DVD:p. The IMAX sounds cool, though. So, what did you think of DWTS?

Karen - Glad you and the kiddos had a good time this weekend! Still sending {{{HUGS}}} and good {{{VIBES}}} your mom's way. I can't believe that they just take such a long "wait and see" approach with something as painful as kidney stones:(. Hope that calf is back to 100% soon. I *LOVE* what you said to Wendy about working so hard on ourselves...VERY well put!

Gloria - Great job getting your run in. Good to get back at it, huh? Wow, you've been sooooo busy lately:(. Hope today isn't *too* long for you. *lol* about the equinox mix-up...I can see how you interpretted it like that:).

I think that's it for now. Today should be an easier day for me, at least...the usual barnwork and riding but NO clients...YAY *doin' the happy dance*. Should get home early enough to *possibly* get a short run in, gab with you ladies and cook up some yummy grilled eggplant "parm". It's kind of a healthy knock-off with no mozz or breading and it is YUMMY! Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Girls. :)

Karen: If you decide to do the 10 miler in Cape May in May ya GOTTA let me know. We'll have to make plans to meet up there(if the timing makes it possible)! :)

Linda: You know I am not tired of the running. Yeah I get a little askeered and wonder if I'll be able to make it through the LONG runs but in general I am enjoying the heck out of running alot. It's truly become my cardio of choice. :) It just gets hard to fit the weight training in and then ya have to make sure you do legs far enough away from the long run day so that you aren't limping from the start, blah blah blah. I am also tired of being so careful with my eating but as I've proven to myself over the past few days, if I'm not careful, I'm horrible so I just NEED to pay attention I guess. Oh well, so much for relaxing!:p

Wendi: Hah! You got yours huh? :p How nice of you to hang out and chat with MK's husband. I'm sure he appreciated it more then you know. :)

Cathy: Sorry about y'day's migraine. Here's to hopin' you get that run in after your appointment today. I'm hopin' for some fall weather runnin' myself tmrw. If it's cool out I will hit the streets instead of the gym for my scheduled run. So we have about 3 weeks left until our races, girl! Are you getting excited? :)

So today's work out plan is Leaner Legs (or some other form of endurance leg torture) and ab work after work and then a class called Group Groove at the gym at 4:30. It's dancing. I've never taken it before but hear that it's fun. I'll bet you I fail miserably at learning the choreo though!:p

Have a great day.
BBL!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...How cool the word about your marathon leaked out at school. I think you will have a great marathon experience regardless of time!! The average non exercise person cannot even fathom the 26.2 mile distance I have found. I will go to 5 days in Oct and probably 6 in Nov or halfway through. I am toying with a 12 week training schedule of alternating 36, 40 & 44 miles weekly. So I would like to be up to 36 weekly miles by the 1st of Dec. So sorry about the migraine. Enjoy your run in the nice fall weather.

Wendi...sorry about the head cold. You did get me thinking of a marathon....thanks...:). Enjoy your not to busy day. I have never tried Eggplant Parmesan, sounds tasty though...

Wendy...Thanks, I am excited to start training for the marathon too! I will be starting and "X" rotation Monday the 6th. So are all the cookies gone in your house today???...:D..Have fun with LL (or any other torture you do) and the Group groove (that does sound fun!)

Gloria...Before I sign up for Napa, I want to see how running 5 days a week goes. You are welcome for the soup recipe. Glad you liked it and it was not too spicy! How was the long day yesterday?

Karen...thanks for explaining the eqiunox. I never look forward to the shorter days in Winter, but I do love Fall. It does take a time commitment for marathon training. I feel there will be one in your near future...:)

Jackie..thanks re: my Mom. it is exciting to contemplate marathon training again..:). I recorded DWTS, I might watch it later or wait for DH tonight.

Linda..thanks re: my Mom. It really is fun to think about another marathon. Thanks for your vote of confidence. The great thing is this marathon I will be checking in with you cheetahs through all my training. Has Patty ever not tapered in a marathon before?

Today is legwork and BM2 Scrambled eggs.

Have a great day...:)

cheetah Returns

Hi Friends!

I am finally sitting down to some computer time after a crazy weekend of travel with DS. We logged in almost 1,000 miles on the car from Thursday to Sunday. Yesterday I woke up with a massive head cold, but apparently it is going around. DD has it too. The kids did well in their sports this weekend. DD's boat WON THE REGATTA! and DS hockey team lost in the last 30 seconds of the championship game .

I missed this check in and all you wonderful friends. Being that I have not read the check in since last Thursday or Friday, I will try to do personals, but I'm afraid they may be spotty.

Wendi- I am so sorry about your friend. Is sounds as though your are being a great support at this time. Are you able to run with your head cold? I felt good on my 5.2 miler yesterday in spite of the cold, but I was dragging the rest of the day. I even caved in and napped.

Cathy- Another migraine? oh dear! DD23 called me from work yesterday with migraine symptoms. She had to leave work and go home to a dark room, poor kid. Wow you race is getting close now! Are you into your taper? It is nice of you to get support at school!

Wendy- did you have an opportunity to bar tend? Was it fun? IA running is my favorite cardio. And after being on the TM most of the summer, I am enjoying the outdoor runs. Yyesterday I did a 5 miler with a 9:33 average pace.

Carole- did I read that you are considering a marathon in the future? Are you going to Chicago with the Cheetah group?

Hi jackie ! I am not caught up on your current events

Karen- What is the latest with your mom?

Shelly- Are you at your new job near home yet?

Linda- Did I read that your training partner does not want to taper before her marathon? Why not? Why go against a proven method?

I am sitting on the couch . It took me a long time to get moving this morning. My head is in a fog of congestion. I think I'll eat a light breakfast now and see if I feel like managing a total body workout. Lately on Tuesdays (after my longish run on Monday) I have been doing a dedicated leg workout lately followed by a premix or mish/mosh for upper body. This seems to work well.

After being away, my kitties are staying close by. They like to be around us.

Good morning!

Wendy – I know what you mean about not being tired of the running and it being hard to fit in everything else (wts, etc). That was me, exactly. But….I sometimes when I knew I “had” to do a certain mileage and “had” to get up at 4:00 or 5:00 on the weekend for a long run….I missed my “casual” running. Does that make sense? Your plan looks wonderful! Now, when you figure out how to stop eating the cookies, let me know so that I can apply that to my dark chocolate Snickers! ;) Maybe the cookies is hormonal? Just a thought…..

Cathy – Oh no! I am sorry about the migraine! Seems that you have had more than your fair share of those lately! I do not understand why she does not want to taper. Her DH’s friends that have done numerous marathons do not taper and that we don’t need to . I absolutely do “not” agree. Neither one of us have ever done this before ….it is not like we have done a lot of them…and also, even veteran marathoners usually taper. Truly, I am flabbergasted. LOL….yeah, the “hill conversation” is funny  They all are “challenges”!!

Wendi – LOL…..Hmmmmm….maybe she is “Shelly in disguise”! Seriously, I can not do what she is suggesting! I guess she will go ahead and do it. But I know it would be entirely too much for me. Yay!!! I truly hope you have an easier day! Sounds like one may be headed your way! Enjoy it!

Carole – Enjoy your Scrambled Eggs and legwork! Actually, she has never done a marathon before. That is one thing that I can’t understand! I could see if she were an “elite” or ultra marathoner. Oh well…….!! I really am anxious to start hearing about your training!

Judy – I agree with you 100% on the “tried and true” tapering method! I, too have been doing my leg day on the next workout after my long run. I need to do it early in the week so that it won’t have me being sore during my long run ;) Enjoy your workout! I hope your congestion clears up!

This morning I just turned off my alarm and did not get up to work out. What can I say? I just felt tired and sore….

Hey to everyone!

Good morning! :D

Karen - I bet you can handle a marathon. I'd like to do one but don't want to do the training or run the race.:D

Linda - DWTS is Dancing With The Stars. I've been watching the past 3 or 4 seasons. I can see marathon training taking a lot of dedication and commitment. You've been doing a great job! Enjoy the extra rest day. Body knows what it needs.

Wendy - Thinking about doing a workout counts too. :p It exercises the brain. ;) Stop stealing the cookie monster's cookies. :D The plan looks good. You can do it! Good luck with LL today. Will be interested in hearing how you like the dance class.

Cathy - Glad you had a good massage the other day. They're just so relaxing. Good attitude about Mondays! We still have to go to work so we might as well get over it and enjoy the day. Of course, Friday is my favorite day of the week! ;) Sorry about the migraine. Hope it's history. Yes, Maks is back and looking as fine as every. Hope you can get a nice, peaceful run in today.

Wendi - Nice you get to spend some time with MK's husband. Bet that helps him a lot too. Hope the cold is better soon. I'd never heard of Righteous Kill either until we went to the movies. Of course, DBF had. It stars Rober Deniro and Al Pacino. Cloris Leachman was a riot last night on DWTS. Wasn't thrilled with Susan Lucci and the comedian. Seems like everyone was moving a little slow. Didn't care for the music. I know it will get better but didn't see a real leader last night. I wonder if they pay the professionals more to dance with the stars that just don't have. They should because all they could be doing it for is entertainment.:D

Carole - Hope running 5 days a week will get you into that marathon mode. I signed up for the St. Jude half hoping that I'll be ready to run it once I can do the 10 miles with no hamstring or foot discomfort. Thinking of taking my leg workouts back down to once a week since I'm increasing the running. They've been sore all week and I haven't done leg work since Friday. Enjoy your leg work and Scrambled Eggs.

Judy - Glad you had safe travels over the weekend. Sorry about the cold. Hope you and DD feel better. Congratulations to DD on her boat winning! Good job for DS! Losing in the last 30 seconds had to be tough.

Today's workout was iTread #5 40 minutes and Yoga for Hips & Thighs with Suzanne Deason. Legs are a little sore. Have a total body planned for tomoorow. Will see how it goes.

Have a terrific day everyone! :D

Jackie - Oh! LOL...I am dense sometimes! Sorry! I love DWTS! I have lost track of when anything is on, anymore! I will have to start watching it again! Great job on your workout! I will keep on with the marathon training (God willing!). I just go through spells every now and then that I feel overwhelmed. :)

Good Morning Ladies! (Yes it is STILL morning here on the left coast )!

Quick check in as it's been a crazy morning! Yesterday I ended up skipping the upper body work and doing Yogilates - which I evidently needed as I felt wonderful afterwards and rode my bike to work.

This morning I did P90X+ Abs followed by the first 30 minutes of CC5 on the bike. Fun, fun workout! I was feeling strong and ready to go, too. I think my body is finally getting used to these long rides as I am not starved as I was all last week. I'm happy about that!

I will be back with personals later today! Sorry for the fly by!

Hi Ladies!

This will be a fly by post. I thought I'd get here y-day, but....Anyway, not sure where I left off for workouts? Sat:Rest; Sun: ITR; Mon: 3 miles treadmill and GS-C&T timesaver premix; Today: Rumble w/my new Cathe gloves :), GSL-standing, Amy's ASCIII abs. As for the soccer tournament the kids collectively won 2 out of 4. Of couse, DD's game was in the complete opposite direction as DS. That's why Sun's w/o was too short. Oh well. Y-day, I forgot the closet ppl were going to be here. I had three closets to empty, but had fun putting it back together last night. :)

I promised DS5 and his friend I'd take them to the park. I think they just finished their lunch. I'll get back much later.

Hope all is well! Have a great day. :)

FYI: I got Cathe's new bands....yeowza!!! also, slanted risers, weighted vest and the gloves, as mentioned above. I really like these gloves. They don't slip like the pair I have now. :)

Back from the orthodontist. I'm on a three month break from them. Thank Goodness:):) Things are going good so they don't need to see dd that much now anymore.

Had to rush out this morning so I ended up doing 60 min total body which I think was pretty good since my calf feels a tad better. Tomorrow will be the test with 8 miles.

Cathy- Ok, maybe it isn't the sinuses. For me personaly sometimes it is from running to hard or too fast will give me a headache, or not enough water gatorade mixture. It could be any number of things or it could be a change in the weather for all we know. Hopefully you can get out this evening and go for a nice migraine free run.

Wendi- Sounds like from reading the posts today we have a lot of sick cheetahs. Hope your head cold goes away.

Wendy- You bet I come and get you if I do the NJ race. Hope the Group Groove thing is fun. I can't even imagaine doing that. They would laugh there a**es off at me for sure.

Carole- I keep toying with the idea of a full but I will see how the half goes. I'm getting so nervous but excited too. I will have a good few weeks to think about a full before I really need to focus and make up my mind.

Judy- Another one with a head cold. I think us cheetah are falling apart. Sending healing vibes your way.

Linda- Some days you just need a break. You have been working hard girl. Take it easy.

Jackie- Too funny with your comment. You cracked me up.

Christine- Glad your body is getting use to the runs and food intake. It does take awhile for it to settle in. I think that is why I don't gain or lose while training because I'm always so stinking hungry.

Dallas- Hope you made it to the park and were able to enjoy the day.

Hope all my sick cheetahs feel better soon.

Judy...So sorry about the head cold...yuk! Hope it goes away soon!! Do you use Airborne at all? Yes, I will be in Chicago with Christine, cheering Cathy on (possibly running about the last 10 miles with her). I am also contemplating the Napa marathon on March 1, 2009. I have done this one twice so I am familiar with the course and it is a fun marathon. I can see your kitties missed you..:)

Linda...okay, I have to say it...your friend is CRAZY
no-no.gif
to NOT taper!!! We will see if I start whining after running 5 days next week!!! A rest day might be good if you are tired and sore today.

Jackie...Might be good to back off your legwork to have a pain free 10 miler. Do endurance workouts make your legs more sore than heavy? I know some women stick to more endurance for longer distance training. I have always been able to do heavy and still train long. I guess it is all what works for you! Good job with iTread & Yoga. Hope the legs feel better tomorrow.

Christine..sounds like your body is getting used to the long rides...:)..Way to go!

Dallas...sounds like you have gotten in some good workouts. 2 out of 4 in soccer is not bad. Congrats on the new purchases.

Karen...glad you get an orthodontist rest. Good job with the total body workout. Hope the calf does well tomorrow. I get nervous and excited too with about any race! So you might be considering a full after this upcoming half?

Had fun with Scrambled Eggs. I know once I start marathon training I will probably not do much step, and I haven't done much anyways. Off to do some housecleaning.

Carole- Have you decided on which marathon you are going to choose. How long has it been since you did one last?

??? for anyone. How many weeks would you consider you need for a first full marathon. I have heard anywhere from 14- 20 weeks depending on your running ability. For me I run about 23-28 miles a week right now training for the half. What did you start at milage wise and how long has your training schedule been weeks wise. Linda, Cathy, Posh, Carole.

Hi Cheetahs!

Linda - Maybe DWTS will get better next week. Think I'll check out Biggest Loser tonight. I keep forgetting about this one.

Christine - Glad the Yogilates made you feel good. Nice workout today! Glad the body is adjusting. Makes things so much nicer. Hope the rest of the work day settled down for you.

Dallas - Good workouts! Can't wait to hear what you think about the Cathe vest.

Karen - Nice to get a break from the ortho. Bet DD is happy too. Glad the calf is feeling better. Hope it will be able to handle the run.

Carole - I think the endurance workouts make my legs more sore than heavy. With heavy, I'll only work them once a week. Also doing splits is much better on them too. Will probably consider that for my next rotation. I'll play around with it a little more before I get into the longer miles. Glad you had fun with Scrambled Eggs. Can't remember my last step workout.

Need to get some dinner. Have a good night.

:cool:Good evening Cheetahville!

My eggplant fake-parm is sitting on the stove cooling. I *heart* eggplant parm but, alas, not a very healthy dish so I cleaned it up...a lot! I grill the naked eggplant slices (no breading and frying here) then layer them with sauce (homemade, of course:p) and top the last layer with some really good parm and stick under the broiler for a few minutes to brown up the top. I have to give DSO credit for this one. See, this all came about a few weeks ago when he brought home an eggplant to use as a side dish. Mind you, nothing else came with the eggplant...just what I had in the pantry (very Iron Chef *lol*). He suggested tomato sauce (of which I didn't have any) so I threw together some no-salt added stewed tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil and oregano from the garden, tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper and, voila, awesome sauce:D. Grilled the eggplant, topped with sauce and a bit of parm and, well, there ya go...he RAVED about it (heehee as did I).

So, while I'm waiting for my grill pans to cool down so I can clean one and start grilling my pineapple spears (yummy!), I have a little bit of time to gab:).

So, I decided against a run or a workout this afternoon:(. I did ride a bunch so I'll consider that my "workout". I felt *better* but still not super and I really need to be 100% for the next few weeks so I thought it best to take the wussy way out and skip it today. *Maybe* tomorrow morning I'll do something indoors like 4DS KB or some other shortish cardio.

Wendy - So, Cape May in May (haha...that's cute;))? Hmmmm, mind if I keep that one in mind? Soooo, did ya get your groove on:p? MK's DH is a sweetie...he's really having a heck of a time with this:(.

Carole - YIKES...Scrambled Legs (I mean Eggs;)) AND legwork. It's official...I think you should join Cathy's masochist club:eek:. Did I read right that you may join Cathy for the last 10 miles...that would be way cool .

Judy - Mucho congrats to DD!!!! Oh, too bad for DS...that must have been tough on them. You must be so exhausted after that whirlwind trip:eek:. It seems like the kitties are happy you're home. Sorry you're suffering with a cold, too, although you're a tougher woman than I. I decided to forego the run today...I really need to be healthy (like, uber-healthy) come Sunday. Aww, thanks hon...I really feel for the guy:(. The kittens are doing their part to keep him company, as well:).

Linda - Although, I'm sure Shelly would opt for the sensible taper;). I'm glad you headed your body's needs and rested today...you've been working incredibly hard.

Jackie - Ah, now I know which flick you're talking about...does look good. Funny, from the title, it sounded like some bad Jean Claude Van Damm B movie:p. LOL about paying some of the professional dancers more:). I figured Cloris would be a hoot...will be interesting to seee how long America keeps her around. You know, I think the lack-luster music is probably one of the reasons I stopped watching it:(. Hope those legs feel better by tomorrow.

Christine - Great to hear that you've recovered nice and strong from this weekend's ride. Sounds like the Yogilates was just the ticket yesterday.

Dallas - Fantastic job getting in some great workouts!!! Wow, that was some shopping spree you went on...NICE:cool:!!! So, how do you like your new closets?

Karen - Great news from the doc! Glad to hear your calf is feeling better. I hope all goes well on your run tomorrow.

Well, must get that pineapple on so I can climb into bed and watch Loser. Have a great night ladies!

Hey Girls!

Fly by to report my work out and then I have to get DS bathed and off to bed. I intend to come back with personals a bit later though.

Today's work out was Glute Camp after work (OUCH!LOL) and then the Group Groove class at my gym at 4:30. Cute class. I enjoyed it. YAY! :)

That's all for now but I'll be back later I think!

Back for personals :)

Wendi: Where did you learn to cook and can I come over for dinner!?!?! Did I say May for the Cape May marathon? I meant March! It's at the end of March. Mark it down. There is a full mary, a half marathon, a 10 miler and I think either a 5 miler or 5k to choose from that morning so you have tons of choices! The more the merrier I always say!:D

Karen: I am planning on using one of Hal Higdon's Novice marathon training schedules and they are both 18 weeks long. I know nothing about base mileage though. Sorry! Some of the moves in the Groove class were tricky for me but I just did what I could. I looked around and most were far from perfect so I didn't feel bad. It was definately fun though! :)

Carole: Glad you enjoyed Scrambled Eggs. I know what you mean about stepping. I like it but never seem to get around to it much anymore. Even less now with the race training. I don't think my step is gonna see much play until next spring at this point! Thank goodness I use it for weight training atleast!:p So I was going to start the X this week too as I think I mentioned to you but I've changed my mind. I just don't think it will work for me personally during race training. Have fun with it for me though!:)

Dallas: So did you get those custom closets where you can put shelves in where you want and hanging space where you want and a shoe rack where you want? LOL You must be sooooo happy! I have very little closet space let alone a closet built to MY specifications! I want to move in with you! :p

Christine: Great work out today! Glad you enjoyed it. No worries about the personals. We know you're good for it. ;)

Jackie: Nice work out today. Hope your legs recover before you have to hit them again tmrw with the full body w/o tmrw. LOL about the cookie monster's cookies! I did better today...only had 3! It was a human-sized serving of sweets after dinner! Much better then last night!!! Unfortunately I still over did it. I entered my food in the nutrtion program and was over cals a bit. I also got horrid scores in the heart health area and my overall GPA was a high C. ACK! Need to pick up that score quick!

Linda: Yeah, the pressure of a long run can hurt if you aren't in the right frame of mind. It also really puts a damper on what you can do with your weekend evenings. Oh well, it's only temporary right? :) And when you cross the finish line it will be soooo worth it!!!! :D Just think, you'll be done in November. I have another 18 weeks of training to gear up for my full mary AFTER I run my 18 miler! I must be MAD! LOL

Judy: Long time no see. Nice to see you again. Yeah, I had my maiden bartending experience over the weekend. It was fun but waaay tiring and nerve-racking since I have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE at all!!!! Great money though! Definatley worth it! I hear ya on the congestion! I started getting a cold on Friday and immediately started downing the Airborne. I also took an OTC medine to get me through the bartending job saturday night. I'm feeling better now though. Hope you feel better soon as well.

Cathy: Another long day for you, girl? Hope it's not another stinkin' migraine that's keepin' you away from us!

I'm back....it was a Calgon take me away kind of day. UGH Too many interruptions to really get anything done. Hope tomorrow is better.

Cathy ~ WTG on your Saturday run!!! Love the pictures and of course your captions. LOL Ouch re: the chafing. I remember John “The Penguin” Bingham said at the kickoff mtg, “You’ll get chafed in areas you didn’t know you could get chafed.” Sounded encouraging. Ha ha You’re doing an awesome job. You have a great attitude about it. :DI’m sorry about the migraines. :( I just saw this book about all these natural approaches to pain. I was thinking of ordering or seeing if the library had it. IA with what you wrote to Gloria about the “green patches” :(Do you still run on those roads w/no shoulders or sidewalks? I’m too nervous. However, I could get a nice run from my door to a nearby park and back if I’d get over that fear. People drive like looneys!!!

Wendi ~ Hope you got that run in tonight. Your dinner sounds yummy and very creative. :) That was sweet of you to spend time w/your friend’s dh. I bet he needed that. Your friend sounds like a wonderful person. How old was she again? I’m a lightweight too when it comes to have a drink or two. Ha ha on the shopping spree…well, I was going to get just the vest, but than I broke two bands recently, so I thought what the heck, and the rest….lol! The closets are wonderful. Now there are so many empty shelves. Hope we don’t fill it up with junk. Check back in a year or so and see how we do. ;)

Carole ~ WTG on your 15 miler!!! Woo hoo! I was excited when I saw your posts to the other Cheetahs about an upcoming marathon for you. You caught the bug again?!?! ;) Is it Napa? Five days of running!!?! Oh boy!!! I bow down to you. :eek:It’s been hard getting four/week for me. We can run with Cathy (during the marathon)? I didn’t know that. Do your knees ache when you do step? I guess that’s why I steer clear of it. Running, spinning, EXT and the stairs give me no trouble. I wonder if it’s the twisting and turning?

Judy ~ Sorry you have a cold too. That’s a lot of driving this past weekend. I won’t complain then. ;) Your Tues workout plan sounds like a good one after your Monday run. :) Hope you feel better soon.

Linda ~ Wow! Your friend does not taper?!!? Yikes! How long had she been running? How many marathons? What do you think you'll do?

Jackie ~ lol’d about your comment to Karen! I thought you were training for a marathon right now??? Hope you’re not too sore for that total body tomorrow. I like DWTS too. Did it start already? I’m not up on the Fall shows yet. UGH! Not like I have time anyway. I can’t wait to try the vest out too. I should have experimented with it for GSL. DOH! I forgot about it. I was rushing. I also found out that a lot of Cathe equipment is available on Walmart’s website and cheaper.:rolleyes: Oh well. Sounds like you had a fun-filled weekend. :)

Christine ~ Glad your body is adapting. WOW on Sunday’s ride!! Was that a race? Or just part of training? Oh my on all the hills! You're doing great!

Karen ~ I bet you are excited. The race is getting close. I forgot if you mentioned if you’re running with a group, friend, or solo? Yes, the park was just what we needed. It was hotter than expected though. IA w/Wendy on all that you do!!! Hats off!!! Good job mom:D IA about the marathon and time. I so want to do one as well, esp since I’m getting used to the longer runs. I want to keep that endurance up until I find one! ;)

Wendy ~ Did you do LL and Glute Camp? Or did you change your workout plan? What is Group Groove? Well, we had all the closets down before we moved in, but not the basement closets. We weren’t exactly sure what we’d do with them. Now that the kids are getting bigger the basement ones will come in handy!:) Most of the toys, games, etc are down there so it’ll be nice having a real place for it all. So, what kind of cookies are (were) you eating? ;) I hope chocolate was involved.

Gloria ~ Hang in there. You’re putting in some long days. Which Beastie Boys song? I listened to them in high school LOL A nice playlist = a productive day! :D Or a nice long run!:D

Posh ~ Well, the tournament starts on Friday and ends Sunday. I know for sure that they have 2 games besides playoffs and championship games (if they make it that far) on Sunday. I wonder what would have happened if I had indeed signed up for the Full??? How's your running coming along?

Shelly ~ Where are you!?! I had planned to do your workout on Sunday, but then only had time for ITR (no Rumble bag w/o as an add on).:( Oh well, had fun kicking and punching the bag this AM.:D

Well, I think that catches me up. Forgive - I'm going to bed - I didn't proofread. Tomorrow just might be double cardio. An early morning treadmill run and then off to the stairs after the kids are off to school. Well, see about that...that may be subject to change.:pTomorrow is the only day for the stairs and it is my running day. Hmmm.

Have a great evening.
