Cheetahs::Happy Hump Day:: Wednesday

Morning Girls :)

Today is circuits for me at the gym. Gonna kill my triceps as well. Doing some GIANT sets. I like DOMS :)

Wendy: Did you get a perm or does your hair have a natural wave?

I'll be back I need a refill :) :)

Hmm looks like I need to adjust my graphic LOL. I need more coffee--that comes first :)

Good Morning Ladies:)

Thought I'd check in just before I went home. DS isn't feeling well so Im not 100% sure I will be sending him out. Maybe I will just go home, hope in the bed and DH will wait till 9:30 to go to work...gonna be a long day though with little sleep!

Todays workout is gonna be a run. Not as long as MOns but I am thinking about doing intervals or something...maybe 6 miles and abs. We will see...

Have a good day everyone!
Lori:)

Kristi: I'm sending you healing vibes for your leg/knee. I am glad you have reconsidered a trip to the doctor. What's the date of your HM? Mine is May 4th. It would be cool to run them "together".
Thanks re the hair. I am lovin' it!
I am excited to try NROL. It's heavy lifting which I am into and I am used to doing less cardio so that doesn't bother me. It's just going to be very strange for me to lift weights following a book instead of a dvd. I will probably play music and turn the tv on with no volume for something to look at. :7 Maybe you should hold off on re-purchasing the book until we start the rotation in May. Once you get feedback on how we all like it then you can decide if you want to buy the book again.

Shelly: 51 years young and still going STRONG!!!:) NROL is what is really keeping me from caving on the kettlebells. NROL is a 6 month rotation and STS a 3 month. If I get KB's NOW, I won't want to start NROL in May like I'm supposed to and I really want to try it!!!

Christine: OMG, I LOVED your dream from the other night!}( So did you end up doing your yoga? What's on tap for today? Thanks for the UN-enable!;)

Carole: Actually Jackie is still KBless too but wants 'em. She just has to wait a bit because of the new house. ;) I am waiting until Christmas to ask for a set. How about you? Are they even on your wish list or has it not sucked you in at all? :) How are you enjoying your freestyle rotation?

Jackie: Joey LOVES the park. He always enjoys it when we go. I, on the other hand, have to be in the mood for it so sometimes, when I'm really not, it's a short visit...but better then nothing. ;) I will take him in our yard as well. I like that cause then if I only want to hang out out there for 15 minutes I don't feel like it was a waste like after having to drive to the park and then back home. We always stay at the park for 30 minutes minimum cause that's how long the round trip takes in the car.:) You can make it until April for the KB's I am sure. I, on the other hand, am trying to wait until Christmas.

Kathy: Shoulders are a burner but I enjoy working them. Nice run y'day. LOL about what you were thinking when your DH was coming home from his trip. I was thinking the same thing when my DH was coming home too! ;)

Cathy: Thanks for the UN-enable! ;) So how'd the rest of your day go y'day? Did you catch that nap?

Dallas: I guess I missed where you are going but have fun!!! Thanks re the hair. The grass is always greener on the other side. That is why you don't appreciate your hair. It's normal. LOL Yes, definately take pics! They made me realize EXACTLY how effective the X is!!!

Sunny: You are not nice! The other girls so nicely UN-enabled me on the KB thing and there you go enabling again! :p :7 Should have our Wii by Friday. You know what we'll be doing all weekend! I may skip my race on Sunday!!!;) :7 (J/K)

Judy: Thanks for the un-enable!

Linda: So do you like the KB's so far??

Wendi: So what's your work out plan for today? Dinner last night was good and I didn't over-do it. I need to pull back the reigns on my food though. Too many cheat meals and it's starting to back up on me. UGH!x(

Kathy: I got a perm. My hair is naturally a big *PHBBBTTTT*. LOL Enjoy giving yourself tricep DOMS today!}(

Lori: Sorry DS isn't feeling well. Sending him get well vibes! Enjoy your run!

Morning, cheetah babes!

Wendy :: hope your DVDs arrive today!…So, are you going to get Guitar Hero for the Wii? I'm pumped about the Wii Fit game Sunny mentioned...it's going to have a balance board and a ski game, yoga, “aerobics,” etc…I did catch a short nap and then plodded on with the work, finishing a draft of one portfolio. So now, three of four entries are fully drafted. They need some tweaks but are close to being ready. Today I’ll be working on the 4th—and hardest—portfolio, but things are shaping up. I should make deadline. And once I do, I have some more fun waiting for me: 200 student papers. After this, I'm not assigning anything else for the rest of the year. *lol* :7

Carole :: Yoda would be a great addition to our siggy lines, eh?…All this talk of massages—I need to book ASAP! My neck is really kinked up, and I haven’t seen my chiro in nearly a month. She’s going to kill me. Glad your back is better.

Dallas :: Probably not. I’d thought about trying to squeeze in one last ski trip this weekend—thank God I didn’t book anything b/c I wouldn’t have been able to go! Hope the crud’s on its way out of your household…stay healthy.

Kath :: love the new siggy! What a cute nickname for DH’s friends to give you. You’re crackin’ me up with the closet and liquor cabinet.

Sunny :: I’m with you—can’t wait for Wii Fit to come out!!

Judy :: Ahhh! A Carribbean getaway sounds heavenly. Glad you enjoyed yourselves. I’m a big believer in parents having their time. Seems healthy for all.

Linda :: did you order the others from AoS, too, or just the Weber DVD? I need to get another kb to make a pair. I was thinking 15#.

Wendi :: thanks for the support. I don’t mind being up to my eyeballs, really. I’m grateful to have this week to do it. Caught your picturetrail. Whyever would you run from the cam? You’re gorgeous!!!

Lori :: sending feel-better vibes to your DS.

Good morning Cheetahville!

Another post and run but I'll be back at a reasonable hour tonight, I *hope*.

I did a fun mish mosh this morning that I will definitely be putting on the agenda again...

4DS KB cardio
KM combos 2-4
KPC drills

Nice sweatfest and it seems to be having an effect (although small) on the scale :). It's sooo hard to get the weight off this time around. Three years ago it just melted off. Oh well, still chugging along.

Have a great day everyone!

Okay, I must have lost my mind! I actually worked out before 7am this morning!!! }(

I did TJ cardio party. I had the itch so I just did it! I'm still planning on yoga after work as well. :)

Off to get the munchkin up!:+

Good Morning Cheetahs!

No dreams of naked men last night – bummer! :+ DD18 is home, so DH made chicken curry and chickpeas. I refuse to step on the scale today! It was very good. There are leftovers which I’ll leave to DD18. Today is a Keith Weber Extreme Kettlebell, Spinervals Sweating Buckets, mish mosh. A nice sweatfest to burn off the curry!

Wendy – thanks for starting us! And anytime on the “un-enable”! :p You’ve been chomping at the bit for NROL so you may as well enjoy it. Why worry about kettlebells? Hope the DVDs arrive today! *GASPS* YOU worked out before 7AM?!? Oh my! Good for you!

Kath – another DOMS lover, eh? Enjoy your coffee and your circuits at the gym!

Lori – hope you get some sleep. Enjoy your intervals and abs!

Cathy – How’s the work coming? I think doubling the 15 pound kbs is a great start. Some of the double moves are tiring and 15 pounds is quite enough! :p On all of Anthony’s workouts, he runs bloopers at the end. I stretch to them and chuckle. He’s so human. I could sit down and have a beer with him and know I’d have a good time (well, then again, just sitting and drooling over him would be a good time!).

Wendi – Sounds like a great mish mosh you did! At least it’s making a budge on the scale! I have to get my eating under control again.

Carole – *gasp* A Californian who’s not too fond of wine?! :+ I know which other white you mean – it’s German and has a name as long as one of my Spinerval workouts! How’s your back doing today?

Jackie – The Cheesecake was bought – I would never attempt to make something like that! But typically I can live without dessert when I go out. I have certain friends who seem aghast when I don’t order dessert and as we usually go to really nice restaurants, I have no issues with ordering dessert (if I’m going to sin, I’m going to sin BIG! :+)

Kristi – how’s the leg today? Yeah, I am enjoying my kettlebells. They are not for everyone, but they are perfect for me. :p And they are expensive!!

Dallas – Life always seems to get in the way, doesn’t it? Glad the snow wasn’t too bad. Yeah, March/almost April is the time for Spring, not snow, but it happens. Hopefully it will warm up soon. I might be visiting Chicago for work in June. Maybe we could meet for coffee or something.

Linda – I think you’ll like the Extreme Kettlebell workout. It’s fun. I’m going to do that today. I’m always whipped after it. :p Providence is FUN, isn’t it?

Time to get moving! Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Wendy...I am trying to make a deal with myself not to purchase the KB's or Bosu until my workout room is all cleaned up. Plus the cost of STS put a nice dent in my funds...but I can't wait for the workouts...:)..I am enjoying freestyle.

Lori..enjoy your run and I hope DS is feeling better later.

Cathy...I think we could get banned from the forum if we used Yoda on our siggy lines!...LOL...I did copy some of the Flairs into Getsmile and I think I can use them here...:D...With all the writing and other NB stuff you are doing a chiro adjustment or massage I think could help a lot.

Wendi...thanks, I did enjoy my day off work! I might be with you along the KB thinking. STS was just a big purchase and I have not wanted anything else...:)..The back thing was way bizarre. But as soon as I did one of the e-cises from the Pain Free book it made it about 80% better! Great workout today..

Christine...funny as about the only one that likes wine in my family is my Mom. Gerwurstraminer, I think is how it is spelled. I do really like that one but only the Fetzer brand...:)..Back was so much better yesterday after I did one of the e-cises for my hip (which is also for the back) from the Pain Free book. LOL about not getting on the scale...same with me as I made a Phyllo recipe (mexican style) and I know even though I cut down the cals, it was a high fat dinner!!

Dallas...glad to hear you are feeling better. 6 miles is great!! yes the adult hunt was fun on Easter. I might try the PP's tomorrow. The knee is a bit sore when I get out of bed, but seems to warm up later. Running the heel-to-toe way I think is helping get rid if the knee pain.

Kristi...I am sure hoping my injuries will be ALL gone soon. So sorry about the knee...I do know how it feels. I sure hope you can get some relief visiting a DR or PT.

Kath...it is hard enough just decluterring my house, you wouldn't want me in yours!! LOL about your "MIL is in the driveway" closet. I have been married 27 years and LUCKY for me my MIL is about 600 miles away!!! I like you new siggy! Enjoy your circuit workout.

Judy...I did do the PLB standing as a circuit with my EXT. I finally decided that Chi running has contributed to my injuries. The hip pain came after doing Chi for about 2 months, then a few weeks ago I got this killer pain in my right knee, under my knee cap, I about went down. When I looked back on what had possibly caused these injuries (I do know most of the time why I get injured!!), I have new shoes, I have not gained weight, I have not run a lot of miles. I figured it had to be the Chi method, as it uses the midsole landing and not heel-toe. Once I went back to heel-toe things started feeling better. I think Chi could be very beneficial to some but not someone like me that has been running for 30 years. So I am icing and running only 2x a week right now until the pain subsides. Have you been having some injuries?

Linda...I had 2 good workouts yesterday...I will try the PP's tomorrow.

I am doing CTX Triceps, abs and a 3-4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning all! The cheetahs are up early and chatting away already:) Thanks to all of you for the sweet warm Bday wishes yesterday awwwww shucks! I stopped at the post office yesterday morning and had a nice surprise of 2 new workouts I had preordered-- a very nice Bday gift so I'll be trying one of them out today for sure. I got Amy's HiLo Knockout and Sharon M Twombly's Athletic step Jam. I'll be going for a 4-5 mile tempo run also.

Christine- Love the Bday banner yesterday!! I got a kick out of that dream you had, very interesting;-) Sounds like a killer workout with spinervals AND KB today!

Kristi- Very happy to hear that you'll be seeing a doc today (I hope) about your knee. Sounds like a ligament strain and some good PT would definitely be in order. Please keep us posted!!!! We care!

Carole- I'd like to what you think of the perfect push ups also!
Nice incentive you have (cleaning up the work room) before buying new toys. I'm sure I'll be investing in some kettleballs myself once I'm resettled.

Jackie- I couldn't agree more... age is definitely only a number.
I feel much younger then my "number". Too bad I don't look much younger.... like you!!! Ah well!

Kath- LOVE your new cheetah name!!! Wishing you some nice serious DOMS- aren't we sick? We just love having pain!!!

Cathy- You're on a roll and getting some serious work done.... I think there is light at the end of the tunnel... no? Hope your sanity stays intact til then.

Linda- Thanks for the wonderful B day wishes! I like that Jump rope iClimb.... sounds tough!!

Wendi- Great mishmosh workout today. That's so sweet of you to call me an inspiration (blush blush) I do so look forward to being able to run with you some day.

Wendy- I've been reading NROWL myself lately--- haven't actually gotten to the workout programs yet.... a 6 month program????? Yikes, that's quite a commitment! Are you really going to keep at it for that long? Did your new yoga vids show up?

Lori- Have a great interval run today! Hope your DS is better soon.

I think that about catches me up cheetahpals! I'll try to check back later.

ShellyC

HI Chatty Cheetahs-

I have decided to stay home today and do chores and maybe some reorganizing at my PC.

Shelly- You got a nice surprise at the post office with the new DVD's! Which one did you do first? Of course we all want reviews. Workout reviews from our Cheetahs are the ones I value the most.

Carole- I think your point about Chi Running is an interesting observation. For as long as you have been running and as observant as you are, your instincts are trustworthy.

Can I ask my Cheetah friends a question? I do not have intense pain, but I do have a very tight feeling in the lower outer quad above and to the outside of my knee. Today after my easy paced 4 miler, I stretched well, and used the foam roller. It seems to feel somewhat better with the foam roller. Yesterday I iced it, and took Ibuprofin. Oh, and it is very tight feeling going down stairs.

Lori- sorry to read DS is out of sorts. (hugs)

Hi Wendi! has you So recovered from the run you did together?

Wendy- kudos to you for getting that workout in early!

Cathy- I hope you are loving your week off from regular classes :)

Linda - thanks for the wave!

Hi to Lorrie, Kath, Thomassina, Dallas

OK gotta get moving here....

Good morning cheetahs! Thanks everyone for your healing vibes. You all are so wonderful. Well per your advice, I went to the doctor this morning. Okay, I had to since I can’t walk without crutches. After work yesterday I took the kids to DS’s t-ball scrimmage. The uneven ground did a number on my knee. Afterwards when I got home I couldn’t put any weight on my right leg. All night long I couldn’t sleep well because my knee would hurt every time I had to move my leg. At 2:30 a.m. I almost went to the ER. Navigating stairs is a nightmare. DH took the kids to daycare & school this morning because I can’t walk down the stairs with DD. It is very painful. Anyway, the doctor is optimistic and thinks it is a meniscus strain and not a tear. She wants me to completely rest it for a week and if it is not better then I will need to see an orthopedic doctor. I’m hoping it is only a strain. In the meantime I’m on a strong anti-inflammatory medicine. Hopefully this will let me get rid of the dreaded crutches and let me hobble around instead. I just took one pill, so it is too early to tell. I asked my doctor if I could run my HM the end of April. She looked at me and chuckled. I guess it is a little ambitious. LOL After my appointment I had to call my DB and give him the bad news. I’m more upset about backing out of running it with him than I am about not being able to run it at all. He was so excited about us running it together again this year.

Kath – Glad you were able to get the website. I was logging on to give it to you. LOL at the MIL liquor cabinet. I’m sure my DH feels the same way about my mother, actually pass the liquor to me too when she visits. :)

Sunny – Is Mint Condition from the Mar/Apr issue? I’ve been looking all over for it. So far I have been to Walmart, Meijer, Barnes & Noble, and Target. No one has it.

Linda – I registered for the Derby HM the end of April, of course that won’t be happening now. I would love to the Hatfield –McCoy HM. It is supposed to be challenging with all the hills, but it sounds like so much fun. Not sure if I will able to get my injury healed up and get my running ready by the beginning of June though. However, I ‘m not opposed to run/walking it.

Wendi – Too bad you won’t have a horse showing during the games, I would have loved to meet you. However, hopefully you will have an occupational change by then as you wish.

Wendy – Thanks for the healing vibes. I think I will hold off on the book until your NROLFW rotation in May. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about it. I bet it will be an adjustment going from a book instead of a DVD. Currently I am doing PUB on my own and I’m liking it so far. You might like it too once you get into the rotation.

Shelly – You are right on your diagnosis of my condition. I’m not surprised, you are one smart cheetah and a wonderful nurse! How's the packing going?

Sorry I can’t get to everyone this morning. I only took 1/2 day off work so I need to start getting ready to go in. I’ll try to BBL. WAVES to all my cheetah friends. Have a wonderful day!

well, the crud got me. i woke up to report my absence then went back to sleep and JUST woke up! i feel pretty crappy but am hoping with lots of sleep, fluids, and homemade chicken soup (thanks to xDF), i will feel better.

i did do my cc mish mosh yesterday. it consists of:
v5 warm up
v5 steady
v5 challenge 1
v7 steady
v7 challenge 1
v6 steady
v6 challenge 4
vpp steady
vpp challenge 5
vpp cool down

it's 80 minutes of cardio bliss! glad i got it in yesterday because the extent of my w/o today will be going to the kitchen for more soup!

anyway, i am going to go read yesterday's and today's threads and see what's up with all of you!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Kristi - I'm really excited about the house. They've started installing the cabinets. Can't wait to see what the granite looks like. So glad you decided to go to the doctor for your leg. Hope it heals quickly with the rest.

Cathy - So glad to hear you're getting lots done. Won't be long now.

Carole - Did you get the workout room cleaned? Glad the back is better. So, you have the KB and Bosu on the radar screen? Hope you can find space in your newly cleaned room. Enjoy your run. Hope it's a good one.

Dallas - Glad you and DS are on the mend. Great job on the 6 miles yesterday. Just old bursitis acting up in the hip. Probably from overuse or something. It only bothers me at 2 or 3 in the morning. x(

Kath - Lucky Cheetah sounds like a cool name. Enjoy your circuits at the gym.

Sunny - Right now I don't have any HM planned. I may consider the St. Jude in December. Just haven't made up my mind. Because of my hip, I want to look at some pretty flat courses. How did the evil tweaks go yesterday? :)

Judy - Don't think I will make the April 1 deadline with the house. Maybe two weeks after that. Keeping my fingers crossed. When the floors and cabinets are finished, it shouldn't be too long then. Enjoy your day at home.

Linda - I didn't have time for the foam roller this morning but the hip didn't ache too bad last night. May try and do it when I get home today. But, you know how that goes. If I don't put the thing where I trip over it, I forget about it.

Wendi - So glad you found time to chat awhile yesterday. Is work slowing down a little for you? How is the foot doing?

Wendy - Glad you enjoyed dinner at MIL. Doing a workout without a DVD is why I haven't picked up NROL. Working out so early in the morning, I want somebody telling me what to do.:) Cheat meals backing up on you, huh? Hope you get it worked out. :)

Lori - Hope DS feels better. Have a good run.

Christine - No naked men in your dreams? What a nightmare! :) Bet the weight is fine. Are you close to another reward yet? Love your rewards! I hear you on the sinning big with the desserts. No fun otherwise.

Shelly - Enjoy your new workouts! What better birthday gift? Ah! You're making me blush here. :+ You look great and have the energy of a two year old. Isn't it great to feel and look better than when we were in our 20's? I want to keep going strong for years to come.

Lorie - Sorry the crud got you. Please feel better.

Today's workout was Muscle Max. I did most of the push ups using the Perfect Push Ups. I'm getting better.

Have a wonderful Wednesday ladies!

Jackie

Hello Ladies.

DS just went down for his nap and I am going down for mine as soon as I post this. ;) I am very tired this afternoon but it's no wonder. I went to bed around 11 and got up at 5:30 this morning. I slept like a rock but it just wasn't for long enough. I got up earlier then usual b/c I had to use the bathroom and find going back to bed for an hour or less more irritating the refreshing so I just stayed up. I find that wierd too since I am a fan of a short nap (30 mins or less) rather then a longer one.

My DVDs aren't here yet. I opted for priority mail cause it was cheaper so if they come today they won't get here in time for me to use them this afternoon. I think that kind of stuff either shows up around 8am or closer to 4 or 5pm. Oh well. That's what I get for tryin' to save a buck or two!:p I have no idea when I would have had them if I opted for a basic UPS service but atleast I could have tracked the pkg.*sigh*

K, off to nap and then it's yoga-time!:)

BBL for personals!

Guess what!?!

My yoga dvds just got delivered via ups!!!

I guess they made a mistake cause when I looked on the packing slip I definately chose and paid for priority mail.

YAY me!:7

Okay, I did the first volume of the PPY trilogy. It's 90 minutes long and I made it through the entire thing! That's odd for me. LOL I liked it but it's TOUGH! He did several poses that there was NO FREAKIN' WAY I was going to be able to do! It's okay though cause in the introduction to the work out he said that will probably happen so just keep trying or rest if you can't do something so that's what I did. ;) The majority of it was kept at a slow steady pace but he did put in short spurts of fast movements here and there. I'm surprised I had the patience for it. Now let's see if I ever do it again! ;) :7 The progression of the poses reminded me a bit of yoga x as he went through the vinyasas, warriors, triangles, etc, into balance and then into stretching.

BBIAB!

Carole – I think you should just come visit me and play with my kbs – then you can decide if you like them. :p Glad your back is feeling better! I love doing PLB as a circuit. I do that with my Spinervals video often. It’s killer, but it gets the lactic acid out of the legs.

Shelly – I hope your birthday was fabulous! Nice to get the two workouts! Let me know what you think of Sharon Twombly’s step work out. I’m sitting on the edge of ordering it. The reviews over at VF have been pretty positive!

Judy – Hope your chores are going well! Have you reorganized your PC? I’m with you on the reviews from Cheetahs – we know what intensity we can handle. I get bummed when I read a review raving about how tough a workout is only to find it a little too easy.

Kristi – Good luck!!! I’ll keep sending the healing vibes! I’m sorry that you had to disappoint your brother. That’s tough!

Lorie – Oh man, I hope you’re feeling better! Nice of xDF to bring soup! How is everything there, anyway? Sounds like a great workout yesterday!

Jackie – Yeah, I know – no naked men. *sighs* Maybe tonight! My weight actually did hold steady. No, not close to another reward yet. I’ve been holding steady – which I’m thrilled with considering what I’ve been eating. I am buckling down now and hope to report some progress soon! Thanks! Good job on the perfect push ups! Those are tough!

Wendy – Oh fun! Your yoga DVD’s DID arrive! Sounds like a good one!

I enjoyed my Spinervals/Extreme Kettlebell mish mosh this morning. I had forgotten how much I actually do enjoy Keith’s workout! I’ve got a happily sore core now!

hello ladies,

today's workout was my tt workout of the day which consisted of 3 rounds of:
clean and press (using barbell)
one leg ball jackknife (ouch)
push ups (using bosu)
split squats
pull ups
dips
15 two handed kb swings
all in all took a half hr and i followed it up with 4DS kickbox! what a great workout!!

for all those planning on doing NWOL4W i have decided to go ahead and start next week 3/31. i took the book out to look thru it again and now i just can not wait:7 . so if anyone wants to start earlier than may please join me!

wendy- i am sorry from now on i will play nice....NOT. hahaha, the other ladies are obviously much sweeter than I. you know i am joking with you kettlebells will be there if and when you decide you are ready.

kristi- yes mint condition is the mar/apr issue. if you can't find it i will post the workout for you. sending healing (((vibes))) your way.

jackie- mint condition with the evil tweaks is pure, tortureous (sp?) fun, lol. so are you planning on joining us with kettlebell love?

sorry no more time for personals gotta shower and have dinner with my family:D

have a great night everyone!
