Cheetahs:::Friday

Good Friday morning ladies:confused:!

Before I get to anything else I want to get...

****POSH'S**** attention!!!

Check your PM's regarding Smokey!!!

I'll be back with the rest of my personals in a minute:).

Good Morning Girls. :)

I'm up earlier then I've been lately cause DS peed his bed so by the time I took care of that it was not worth it go back to sleep. It was actually the time I PREFER to get up but lately I've been lazy and sleeping in. :p

So my right is knee is absolutely KILLING me right now!:(It was a bit achey after my run y'day and got progressively worse as the night wore on. YIKES! I took ibuprofen. I am hoping it helps!

That being said, I think I need new running shoes. The pair I have are virtually brand new but I don't think they are working for me. They are the same style I've been buying since visiting the running store way back when. Well I have the updated style ofcourse and recently read that the newest style is not as supportive as the older styles. I think this is a problem for me. I have been noticing more issues with my knees since getting these shoes so I have to think the two are connected. Hate to get new shoes a couple weeks before the race but I can't take the chance of having my knees go south during the race! Before heading out to a running store in search of a new style, I think I am going to see if I can grab myself a bargain online. Perhaps I will get lucky they will still have some stock left of the previous version of my shoe which worked fine for me. It's worth a shot. If not, I'll head out shopping this weekend.

Okay, onto the personals I never finished up last night. Sorry, I just ran out of time....

Posh: Oooh, I LOVE going to weddings! Have fun! :) Sorry about Smokey. I hope he is diagnosed, treated and back to himself ASAP!

Cathy: So what about BTSN still makes you nervous? Is it meeting a whole new set of parents? I don't blame ya. I'd be nervous too! I'm sure you do a bang up job though. :) So you passed by me on your way up to north jersey today. Did ya beep? LOL What town were you in?

Jackie: I read that you are signed up for a half marathon. That's cool. I hope your hams cooperate and allow you to run it. How exciting. :) I'm with on the upper body only today. Which work out will you be doing?

Judy: I ran with Grace y'day. ITread 2/60 mins. The race I am running with Shelly is the Commemorative LBI 18 miler on October 12th. Good job with UB y'day. 4DS is tough! It's great though!

Linda: OMG your poor friend! I hope she's okay for the marathon!!!! I am not a fan of the stirrups either but the check up is over so fast it's actually one of my least dreaded appointments to go to.

Shelly: I somehow forgot to respond to your run-in with the dog. I am glad he was friendly but how scarey and annoying. I'm glad your injuries were minor. Where were the dog's owners? I've had no run in's yet *knock on wood*, but I am at the ready with my mace just in case! So will your DH be coming along to LBI? My DH will be there so they could hang out together if they wanted to.

Carole: How was your work out y'day? Glad to hear your mom is progressing in the right direction. So you are training for a March mary too? The one I'd like to do assuming I survive the 18 miler is at the tail end of March. I guess we'll be training buddies. :)

Wendi: How'd ya bowl last night? DH is bowling 4 nights this week and next week! He bowls on 2 leauges normally but he's also subbing on 2 leagues. He's gonna LOOK like a bowling ball soon! :p

Okay, that catches me up. :)

So listen to this...it's quite laughable. My BMF calls me up y'day afternoon and says he's got a crazy idea. He proceeds to ask me if I'd be interested in taking...of all things...A SALSA DANCE CLASS with him!?!?! It's once a week for 4 weeks in October. I couldn't resist so we are signing up for the tuesday evening class. This is going to be HYSTERICAL!!!!!!:p:D:p

Have a great day!

Good morning, again, ladies!

Sorry, just didn't want Posh to miss my post regarding her horse. Have a couple of ideas for her and whatnot, having had experience with neuro issues, etc., in horses.

On the one hand I'm thrilled that it's pouring here....woooohoooo, no riding:D:D:D, *doin' the happy dance*. On the other hand, the horse...you know, I'm getting sick of calling him "the horse"...he has a real barn name (which shall remain anonymous;)) but we call him Monkey....Monkey could really use these next two days of riding to prep for the show and it just doesn't look like it's going to happen:(. Good news, I might be able to sneak home and get a couple workouts in these next two days that I wouldn't ordinarily have had:D.

Christine - Sorry to hear your closing has been delayed...what a PITA. Has DH had any luck sweet-talking the Westin? Ooooh, nice score on the TV. I'm considering a LCD TV when DSO moves in cuz he has this monstrous TV that simply won't fit in my house:( and I thought shoving it up on the wall may help out with the lack of floor space. Enjoy your outings with Jimmy and Mike this weekend:). Uh, WOW, about that Everest ride:eek::eek:!

Carole - ITA about food swimming in oil, yuck! Glad to hear that mom is still improving. Nice workout you cooked up yesterday!

Karen - So, have the kiddos finally gotten the hang of least common denominators and analogies:)? I give you a ton of credit for doing what you do!

Shelly - Sooooo glad to hear from ya...was starting to worry. So sorry about that spill...yeowch!! I would have been pretty peeved that the dog was allowed to run lose in the first place:mad:. You gotta wonder what some people are thinking when they pick color combos like that:eek:...can we say acid trip? Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Jackie - I used to do that with my VCR...now, I kind of can't be bothered anymore lol. Those must have been some pretty serious DOMS. Great run yesterday. Hope you had a good time with LIC.

Kristi - Sooooo glad to hear from you!!! Great to hear that your knee is better...best to keep it slow for right now. You'll be back up to full speed in no time! Congrats on the promotion!

Wendy - Glad to hear you're feeling good and ready for LBI...you're gonna rock that run!

Linda - It started to lighten up (at least enough to be able to read my HRM) around the 2.5 mile mark, so, not bad. LOL, I have White Coat Syndrome, too, which is funny because I have almost abnormally low BP (90/55) and it ends up being normal to a bit high (120/80) at the doc's. Of course, I only go to the doc when there's something *really* wrong so maybe that has something to do with it;). I hope Patty's back heals quickly and doesn't knock her out for too long. Were you able to get all of your planned workout in last night?

Judy - Too funny about missing half of your b'fast. Great job on 4DS...love that premix...that one rreally gets ya *insert devil horns*.

Cathy - LOL, there's not too much to run into or trip over around me and it *is* fairly well-lit. AH, yeah I can see how BTSN would make you a bit nervous. Although, knowing you and what a wonderful teacher you are, I'm sure your kids have nothing but nice things to say to their parents when they get home from school everyday. Bowling was okay...we always start out like gangbusters and then the team, as a whole, seems to lose it the last game (can't seem to crack how to play the lanes when they transition...won't bore you with what that is lol;)). Shot 268, 202, 193...see what I mean?

Posh - Have a good time in Napa and try not to worry about Smokey. If it is EPM the prognosis should be excellent. Like I said ^^^^...check your pm's. Speaking of weird horsie-related things. A client of ours has been having problems with her horse "colicking" off and on for the past couple of months. I put that in quotes cuz I don't think it's colic...it actually sounds more like mild seizures to me (have experienced enough of em to recognize them at this point). It never ends with them, does it:rolleyes:?

Hi to the rest of the Cheetahs wandering in today. Gotta get moving...I'm a little late. I may have time to check back later today. Happy Friday!

Wendy - You snuck in while I was typing my dissertation above. OMG, have fun with your BMF!!!! Too funny! Had to LOL about DH looking like a bowling ball;). We were, eh, last night...see ^^^^. So sorry to hear about your knee but I think I agree with you that it may well be the newer style shoes. Now, why do they always have to go and "improve" something that don't need improving:eek:?

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...that would be so cool if you came to Napa!!!!!...:D...'If it is too soon" might depend on your recovery from Chicago. I think you could physically swing it myself.

Wendi...glad the rain gave you a break!! Monkey is a cute name for a horse...:)...hope you can sneak home for a couple of workouts.

Karen...I think you have a good plan for November...:)

Shelly...WOW, you sure had to soak up a lot of info those first days on the job, I can imagine the brain overload!! So sorry about the spill...falling downhill is painful. I hope you have no lingering aches from that. Way to go painting. That color sounds nice. Mom should be in re-hab 2-3 months. I am hoping sooner as she seems to be progressing well. Yes, I mentioned Napa to Karen, and she kinda brushed it off, but the next day she mentioned that she was needing to get up earlier to run now that she is marathon training!!..:D...Okay Shelly, I am sending {{{STRONG}}} selling house vibes for you...I would love to run Napa with you!

Wendy...sorry about the knee pain. That can be an indicator of worn out shoes. Hopefully it will pass. I had a great workout yesterday. Upped my weight on quite a few exercises...:D. It'll be fun to marathon train with you...:)

Jackie...as it has been some time since I marathon trained, trying to remember how I lifted during that training was tough!!...:). I know I will be doing STS during some of this training so that should be interesting. Good workout with iTread and iClimb, plus yoga yesterday.

Christine...my DH would love your bike name...:D. I think Napa will be very fun. I feel the more the merrier. I do think your condo would be more comfy than a hotel so the $$ will be well worth it.

Kristi...thanks for checking in, we have missed you!! Most of the time you are a bit slower after and injury. Don;t worry, you will get your speed back...:)

Linda...LOL about White Coat Syndrome. I have had that too!! Glad the stir-up appt is past. That is sad about Patty's back...:(...but now hopefully she will taper. Does she see a Chiro? Did you get in your workout yesterday?

Judy..I did post an answer to your marathon question on Tuesdays thread...:)...The Napa marathon is March 1, 2009. Napa is rolling hills but nothing real steep. If I remember right there is a final hill about 19-20 and then the course is flat to the finish.

Posh...My thoughts and prayers for Smokey....also sending {{{HUGS}}}

Today is MM C&B, abs (if I have time) and a 4.5 interval run with my new Gymboss!

Have a great day...:)

Happy Friday Cheetah Babes!

Kristi – Congrats on the promotion! That is wonderful! Oooh, Baton Rouge – lots of good eats there (not healthy, but oh soo good!). I’m sorry you won’t be making it out for the marathon, though! :( Happy to hear you are recovering from your knee injury.

Wendy – I do like the CTX series. I sometimes tack on the cardio to extend a workout. When is your last run? Sorry to hear about Joey and the bed. I kept DD15 in pull ups until she was about 4 because of the occasional accident. Oh NO – I hope the knee is better! Oh, yeah, sounds like the shoes are not happy. Too funny about the Salsa class – you’ll have fun!

Linda – glad to hear you survived the stirrups! I hear you about the BP – although for me it’s only in my GP’s office – I swear the nurse cannot take a proper BP as it’s normal everywhere else but there it’s 130/100 – which is HIGH for me. I hope your friend Patty feels better too! You’d be surprised at some of the commuters on the bike forums – they commute like 30 miles one way! Amazing. I wish my 2 miler was just a little longer, but I’m not complaining.

Judy – Oh, oops, sorry about that. Glad DS is feeling better!

Jackie – Yes, CCPP is a fun one. I really like the music in the last set of climbs. Makes it nice and easy to keep pushing. Nah, Jimmy never gnawed on Mike – he did get my trainer though. The bike moves, so he’s not too sure about it. :p

Cathy – I run in the dark without a head light, but I run the neighborhood and there are street lights everywhere. I can always see where I’m going. Those coin wars are too cool. It’s so great to be teaching the kids how fun fund raising can be. TV’s screwed in right (not too sure about DH, though :D). Did I hear a little birdie say that you are considering the Napa Marathon?!? YEAH!!!

Posh – always good to hear from you! Looking forward to Chi-town! Oh, I’m sorry to hear about Smokey! I’ll definitely keep him in my thoughts and prayers! I have loved horses since I was a wee kid. Give him a big ole day. Well darn!!! If you are in Napa and MY DH and I are in Napa (which is still up in the air) – we should meet for a CAB or something!

Wendi – yes! You are our resident horsie expert. Hope Monkey does well anyway, even with the enforced rest! And I so hope you get home a little early to get in a workout! Yeah, that Everest ride… Of course, I would love to be able to ride it one day, but I doubt that will happen. :p

Carole – glad to hear you mom is becoming more mobile. Oh yeah, your DH is Mike. You can tell him that I named a bike after him. :p I’m all for as many as we can get to come to Napa. That would be a blast. I already told DH that it would be a girls weekend. (Well, except for Mike the Bike and he doesn’t count). :p Enjoy your interval run with your new Gymboss!!

Still no idea if I’m going to Napa this weekend or not. I kind of doubt it, actually – which is honestly a bit of relief. I’d like to attend, but DD15 has her Youth Advisory meeting so I have to drive her, etc. It would be too stressful. This way I can relax and get everything done. We’ll see. We got the TV mounted, but the cable box and the TV are not in agreement, so DH is going to get his friend over to check it out (I keep telling him to call the cable company, but no his friend knows more… :p). No workout today. I need a break. My legs are sore from yesterday :D Have a great day all!

I woke up way earlier than normal so I decided to go ahead and hop on the treadmill and get my 11 miles in. So now it is done and over and I'm so happy. I have exactly two long runs left before the half. I have a 10 mile planned for Wed and then a 12 mile planned for Friday. I can't believe it's almost here. I'm so glad I did this. Anyway while running in the wee hours I decided that my butt is way too big. I'm running and then glace in the window and there it was bouncing up and down. My lower back was starting to ache around mile 7 so I grabbed a hold of my butt and it stopped my back from hurting. I serioulsy think the boucning up and down of my rear hurts my back. That being said I did not continue to cup my rear I just let it bounce and my back loosened up around mile 9. Thank Goodness. I think running in the wee hours is really eye opening to things. Thank goodness the sun finally came out and I couldn't see my butt shadow anymore. No need for that sight in the morning again.

BBl for personals.

Good morning ladies!

Cathy - Glad you got BTSN over and done. Sometimes we just don't want to be in the spotlight even if it's for a good cause. The support is great.

Posh - Prayers for Smokey. Hope he's better soon. Enjoy your trip to Napa.

Wendy - Sorry to hear your knee is bothering you. Hate buying new shoes and they don't work. Too many $$$ to do that. Maybe you can get those new shoes in time to break them in a few days before the race. I made the mistake of changing my shoes for my first half marathon and I paid the price. I'll stick with the old familiar ones from now on. Hope you come up with something. How cool about the salsa dancing class! Bet that will be loads of fun!

Wendi - Enjoy your day off from riding. Sorry Monkey will miss out though. What a name for a horse, huh even though it's an alias. :D

Carole - Looks like you might have STS in your hands by Christmas. Can't wait to hear about it. Liking the new Gymboss? Enjoy MM C&B and your run.

Christine - I saw one of the employees here riding his bike the other morning and thought about you. He lives right up the street though maybe a few blocks. LOL about Jimmy not being sure of Mike! :D Hope your weekend is a relaxing one instead of stressful from running around. Enjoy your rest day.

Karen - Good job with the 11 miles on the TM! Laughing at your butt making your back hurt. Didn't know that thing was lurking behind you?:D Glad the back loosened up and you finished the run ok.

Today's workout was an easy 3 mile run using CC#2 and LIC UB Sculpt premix and abs. Good little combo.

Have a fantastic Friday everyone!

Hey there!

Jackie – I am glad someone else shares the White Coat with me! It is soo embarrassing for me. I just do not understand it. LOL…yes, the mammogram does hurt sometimes! Your remark about not having anything to “throw up there” had me cracking up! Good job on your run and LIC UB!

Cathy – I haven’t really thought about any particular “next” marathon. But Napa sure would be nice! When is it? I sure wish I was running Chicago with you! I am not sure which would be worse….the pelvic or the mammo! Actually….I think it is the blood pressure cuff! ;) I have never heard of the “halo test”. !

Posh – Enjoy Napa! Oh dear! I hope your hose is okay! Hope you are able to rejuvenate yourself!

Wendy – I agree with you on the actual exam. My biggest problem is just the blood pressure check. How WEIRD is that? I hope your knee feels better! Yes, I think subtle changes in the shoes from year to year can really affect the way your body behaves in them! The Salsa classes sound like a lot of fun!!

Wendi – My BP runs low normal away from the doc, too. It is sooo strange! Yes, the workout happened :) I ran outside and did 4DS B&Tri’s. LOL….I love that you call the horse “Monkey” . I am glad you will get a little break!

Carole – WCS is sure no fun, is it? It makes me dread the appt’s even more! No, Patty doesn’t see a chiro, yet. She may end up doing it, though. I did get my workout in, thank goodness! It was nice, as I got to run outside :) Okay, this is starting to get scary. I ran 4.5 miles last night and you ran 4.5 today. But, I did 4DS B&T’s. I love my Gymboss!!! Hope you enjoy it!

Christine – It will be nice to get all of your stuff down without the stress of going to Napa. I can see why you would not want to go. Yes, my BP is usually 100/60 – 110/70. Yesterday it was 150/100! When I got home it was 100/70. Oh dear. Looks like a lot of us have the problem! :) Wow!!! 30 miles each way!!! They wouldn’t need to do another workout, that is for sure!!

Karen – I am at work, and I am literally cracking up at your post! I’ll bet people think I am nuts, over here! :) I can just picture you running, cupping your butt! I am sure you don’t have a big bum! Silly girl! Great job on your run!!

Patty said she was able to run an easy 2 miles last night and was just fine! So that is good. She is going to try another easy one today if she doesn’t get any spasms.

Last night I ran 4.5 miles outside and did 4DS T&B. It was a great temperature!

No workout today. Had to get bloodwork, went with DD for the ultrasound on the baby, and got my Mammogram…then back to work. Whew!!!

NOW FOR THE BIG NEWS!!! IT’S A BOY!!! :D :D

Hey to everyone!

Linda

Linda- Checkin in real quick. Congrats on the baby boy. How wonderful. Any names yet. Too true about my run though. Cupping that butt the whole way. I think I seriouly need longer tight pants so it won't bounce as much. Gald you got your mammo done and over with. Just went myself in June. As for white coat syndrome. I'm am the queen of it. I'm like a two year old eveytime I walk into the office. My bp sky rockets two days before I know I have to go. At least I"m not alone.

Evening Ladies!

Can you believe this is the first chance I got to post!?!?! Crazy!! Anyway, Thurs I overslept, but planed on a certain time to workout at the gym. Well, I brought my mil some homemade soup and we got to visiting. That was my little window of time, but glad I spent it the way I did. Today, I tried to make up a little by doing GS-BSB timesaver, CM#3 before waking the kids and then went out for 8 miles, but did 8.3 (went a little too far from the car. ;)) I did 7 miles w/CCPP and then added to it. We just got home from a gianormous 10 y/o b-day party. I never heard that version of Happy Birthday and that loudly! lol ;)

Karen ~ Thanks for the laugh!! You are silly! I think we're harder on ourselves.I'm sure you are fine. :) WTG on the 11 miles on the treadmill! How in the world did you do that!?!?!

Linda ~ Congrats!!! Is this the first grandson?

Jackie ~ Nice workout! What's your plans this weekend?

Christine ~ Enjoy your rest day! How far do you have to drive for the meeting?

Carole ~ How is the Gymboss different than the Garmin? I'd love to hear more about it. ;)

Wendi ~ Why the anonymity w/"Monkey"? Is he famous? ;) Glad you can squeeze in some extra workouts!

Wendy ~ I bought the same exact pair of shoes too and was having issues with them. That's weird! I, too, had to go out and buy another pair of running shoes and they're working much better for me. Hope you found a bargain. Hey, salsa dancing sounds fun!! I bet you'll have lots of laughs! :)

I have to go read the other thread.

~BRB

Cathy ~ lol'd about your agreeing to the "stick" figures! Let us know how the competition goes. :) Are you going to run Napa now?

Wendi ~ I think 400 stairs would be breath taking! :p Did he take pictures you can share? Good job on your 5.4 miler. :)

Christine ~ Well, last I checked the Sox are choking! :( Sheesh!! They blew the 1st place spot. They need to win tonight. That must be some "after party" 62 miles!!!!

Carole ~ When you posted the date of March 1, it got me thinking....what if dh sent me to Cali for my bday. I could run w/you gals. I think I would be marathon ready then. Oh, wouldn't that be fun!!!! :D although, I'm thinking that maybe the first should be done close to home. What if I can't walk through the airport?!?!? lol Is Cathy coming? Hmmm

Shelly ~ Good to *see** you!!! I can't imagine the brain fry you're feeling right now. I bet running was a great stress reliever. :) I got startled this morn when a landscaper came out of nowhere on this secluded part of the path I was running. I kept looking back and then thought I'm going to fall. There's been a lot of terrible news in the local papers. :( So, I suppose I was jumpy. Do you carry anything with you for protection? I'd like to, but don't know what? Any Cheetah have any input?
Good luck on the new job! :)

Jackie ~ 20 pounder, huh!?!! You go girl!!! Let me know which vest you get? Have you started the One Rep Max test? I need to do that still. Which team is your BIL rooting for...CUBS or SOX?

Hi Kristi!!! Glad your knee is on the mend! :) I was wondering how you were doing?

Linda ~ How's your friend Patty? Hope her back injury was nothing serious. IA, I'm in serious dread for my appt next Fri. I get so nervous, then sweaty.lol

Judy ~ lol'd about forgetting you breakfast in the micro. I've done that before too. We need to slow down, huh?!?! What's your plan this weekend?

Posh ~ How's Smokey? :( Poor thing! I'll say a little prayer for him. enjoy Napa.

We managed to bring an extra kid home from the party. Better go make sure they're all tucked in for bed. :)
