no baby and no workout, either
Evening, cheetahs!
Well, my friend has been at it for over 12 hrs. and she is about to go in for a C. I did not go to the hospital but have been waiting around for updates. Opted not to run or work out as much for the fact that, after work today, I was plum
exhausted. Ended up dozing off for about an hour. It was a
great opening week, but the busy-ness of back-to-school + the added excitement must've knocked me right out.
Gloria :: a shout-out to my fellow hardworkin' teach!
Wendi :: I hope the pad passes "inspection."

This is a job where ya GOTTA be flexible & roll with the punches, so I have become very good at that since I became a teacher. All in all, my view is life's too short to get cranked up over nothing. In an ultra-busy week, 4 workouts instead of 6 is good enough, in my book. Once we get through BTS night, things will begin to settle. This is typical September. All is good.
Wendy :: (((HUGS))) Sorry it was a hard day for Joey & you. It must have been heartbreaking to walk away, but ITA with how you handled it. The other way would just make the separation harder and more drawn out...I also agree you needn't stress over trying to make it to all three visitations. If you're there for just one of them, you'll have fulfilled your role as a good friend. And no doubt you will continue to be there for her in the weeks and months ahead when she'll need to lean on you...Well, as much as I love my job, if I had to miss, say, a whole WEEK of workouts, I wouldn't be happy, but one or two during the known busy times is nothing worth spazzing over. It just is what it is sometimes. Stinks that you can't take the yoga class you like. Will you do the centergy class instead?
Carole :: oh, I'm so happy to hear things are on the upswing for your mom. I was kind of hoping, too, that she might want to quit the smokes, but I have seen that viewpoint in several of my relatives or friends. They wanted to do it "their way" up til the very end. Can't argue with that.
Christine :: you definitely have the coolest company ever!...Oh, I wish I had Shelly's energy. But I have come to terms with the fact that getting a challenging
mental workout on a daily basis does zap some of it for me. Have to adjust my expectations during the school year and try to find the balance. I just ain't gon' be one of these superwomen!

Hope you enjoyed the ride and had a great time @ the beach party. Looking fwd to the pics.
Jackie :: oh yes--that's all part of the game. They're sizing us up every second. Those first impressions are critical. I feel we're off to a great start--my class sizes are a tad large, but the kids seem very sweet. Good vibes on this group. Got those short, little legs, too, but unlike you, they never want to go fast! *lol* Glad that strategy has paid off for you. Hope the open house preparations are all in order.
Karen :: you ran in THIS goop??? Kudos to you. It's been brutal the past couple of days. They are having a girl.
Linda :: great workouts as always. You are really killin' it with mileage AND weights--awesome!! Most Targets have the berry blast Sharkies only in either individual bags or the box. It's in the supplement aisle...I thought your pics were great. We are always our own toughest critics, but seriously, you are gorgeous, lady!

The photo you didn't like did NOT look bad to me at all. You look graceful and full of energy even at the finish. I always look like I'm gasping for my last breath. *lol*
I received an email yesterday from the
Livestrong folks. They are sending out a performance top, hat, and sneakers (yellow, I'm guessing??) that they would like us to wear on race day. I am definitely NOT experimenting with shoes that day, but I thought it was cool nonetheless. And oh yeah, I made my fundraising goal the other day! Yippee!!!
Have a great night, everyone!
