::: CHEETAHS ::: Friday --> Yeah, boyee!!

Wendy :: sorry to hear BF's mom passed. I always feel so terrible for folks who lose a parent young. Very sad...I am glad, though, that Joey-bear has transitioned so easily into pre-school. Wonderful!...No, you're right, and I am not worried at all about the adjustments that need to be made in the schedule for the time being. I've learned to anticipate the times of year when work might interrupt and accept that it may happen without getting annoyed or feeling guilty. But of course, when a migraine hits, all bets are off. I usually do not work out the same day of one.

Linda :: last night I made it to the end of the show and then I was out like a light. :) I buy Sharkies at Target or REI. I used to order from RRS as well. More recently, Running Warehouse.

Carole :: I didn't care for the banana chips, either, and that is probably why I never felt much motivation to experiment with other dried fruit. *lol* Excellent job with the 4.0 GPA!! Rock on! Glad the drug mess is over, and your mom is starting to improve.

Jackie :: that is great that you get reimbursed for the mileage. The kids were on the quiet side, sizing things up from their end. But it looks like a good group. Good to hear the hams are feeling fine. Is it the yoga, do you think?

Christine :: Glad the story was a hit and the work issues were resolved. Did you sleep better last night? For the past few nights, I have been sleeping light, waking up every few hours to check the phone (for baby news), but nothing. However, just as I was typing this, I rec'd news that her water broke at 2:30 and she is going in!!!!

Karen :: congrats on your new TV!...oh no on the kidney stones! Let's hope there is relief soon...hope you have a great long run today.

Worked late and then banged out a nice 5 miler. No time for the WP, so I'll try to get that tonight. I will be heading over to the hospital immedately after work to see BF, and hopefully, the baby, so I may or may not run. Gonna have to play by ear.

Have a great Friday, everyone! :)

Hi Cheetahs!

I am alive, just busy getting back to school. Things should slow down soon. I will post personals this weekend. I am going for a run this morning. Hope all are well!

Gooooooood morning Cheetahville!

Why I'm so awake on a Friday morning is beyond me....probably the stress of the countdown until grandmothers arrive:eek::confused:!!! My mother and her mother should be here sometime tomorrow (although possibly tonight to get ahead of Hanna) and my father's mother and my aunt will be here Sunday. I do love em all and they are nice folks (if not slightly annoying;) at times) but they're a bit, ahem, anal about cleanliness. Now, I certainly don't live in a pigsty but, sorry, I don't have time to scrub the kitchen floors with a toothbrush everyday either lol.

Wendy - Oh, {{{{{{{{MEGA HUGS}}}}}}}}}}} to everyone. I'm so sorry for your BF's loss. I would say that your BF is EXTREMELY lucky to have you as a friend right now. Great to hear that Joey had a fantastic time at school...thank goodness, right:p? Oh, would LOVE to have you join us in Philly. Nov 23 work for you? Shellers is doing the full, I'm doing the half. Well, at least I will be if I can get registered ...my computer keeps freezing up every time I try.

Shelly - You must be beyond relieved to see the end in sight of that god-awful commute! So glad to hear that you';; finally have a chance to get back to a *normal* schedule....as if anything you do is normal:p;)! Glad you had a nice country run.

Cathy - Hoping your migraines and schedule ease up for you. I give you a TON of credit for being able to roll with the punches though. You are a trooper! Have fun visiting friend and baby tonight!

Linda - Nice workout you cooked up there yesterday!

Carole - So sorry to hear that mom is still having a rough go of it:(. I hope she's able to get into the rehab facility soon. WOW... more 4.0s:eek:?!?! Great job!!! I'll never see that as I'm always over (by quite a bit) in the niacin department and a teensy bit low in the Om3 (by like 2%) but I'm not stressing it. Anywhere over 3.65 is fine by me.

Jackie - Can't wait to check out your pics...just haven't had time lately (especially since I'm dial-up):(. I'm sure they're gorgeous just like the rest of your home. Glad that the hammies are feeling good for ya and that you're getting back into the swing of things. The invasion starts tomorrow:p.

Christine - How was the partay last night...snag anything cute? Glad to hear that your work issues have been resolved...that stuff certainly does mess with your sleep.

Karen - Still keeping you and your mom in my prayers. I hope the docs are able to give her some relief soon...I wouldn't wish stones on my worst enemy:(. I never got say how much I admire your dedication and commitment to homeschooking your kids. They are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful mother.

Gloria - Hope things slow down soon for ya...you sound uber busy! BTW, I never got to answer your questions about the nutrition software. Yes, it is possible to do it with dial up. In fact I find it takes the same amount of time as using the online version of Fitday...mind you, I skipped the video tutorials cuz I KNOW that would've have taken *forever* lol. It's kind of slow going at first until you get all your favorties in but then it goes pretty quick.

Howdy to Posh, Judy, Dallas, and Lorie!

*IF* all goes well I should be back tonight. Have a great Friday ladies!

Good Morning Girls.

Christine: Thanks for the hugs and thoughts. They are very much appreciated! :)

Cathy: Ooooh I'm so excited that she's having the baby! How awesome! I will hope for a smooth (and SHORT!) labor and delivery for her! :)
Thanks re BF's mom. Yeah, I think the hardest part for me is that BF is only 36 and her mom was not an "old lady" either. She was up in years but VERY early 70's at best. Too early to go IMO. I find it very bizarre how, yet again, someone was diagnosed "TERMINAL" and poof, dead in a matter of a few weeks. Scarey.
You love your job and are very motivated to excel at it. This is probably why you are so wonderful at not allowing missed work outs irk you when you get busy with school. I have never been lucky enough to feel that way about my job so if it ever got in the way of something it would/does bother me....Like the fact that I am on the schedule for tuesdays all month and can't take that yoga class! GRRRRR! Ofcourse, that's my own fault, I COULD have requested that day off but I wanted 4 days and requesting a certain day off would have narrowed my chances of getting what I asked for so I'll deal. :)

Gloria: Enjoy your run and the rest of your day!

Wendi: Thanks for the hugs. Nov 23rd could work for me. I'll have to check it out for sure and let you know. No full mary for me yet but I'd love to do the half if I can. :)
Oh boy on the cleanliness thing! I feel for you. Thankfully I don't have a bunch of family or friends who are like that. I know one person by virtue of marriage on my DH's side who is like that. She came into my house once and I wanted to die! LOL It was a last minute visit so I didn't have time to prepare. Now I don't live in a slop house either but I am SURE my house was far from this woman's idea of CLEAN. She was on the vacation in MD that we just went on and she said that when she checked into the hotel she WASHED THE BATHROOM FLOOR!!!! OMG, I about fell over when I heard that! LOL Who does that!?

K, peeps, gotta go make Joey's lunch for his 2nd day of school-I am LOVIN' this school thing! ;) BBL though!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...way to go getting in the 5 miles yesterday. Congrats to your BF!! I hope you can see both of them today!

Gloria...enjoy your run!

Wendi...LMAO about scrubbing the floors with toothbrush!! I am sure most people anal about cleaning might not enjoy my house, but hey, we do the best we can! I hope you have a fun weekend with family. Thanks re my GPA...I go over in niacin every time we have salmon for dinner. I don't sweat it either but do enjoy the occasional 4.0's.

Wendy...so sorry about your BF's Mom...:(...Glad your text got thruough...:)...sending {{{HUGS}} and thoughts and prayers for BF and her family.

Linda...Whenever I find a model of shoe I like I just "google" them, and go from there. I have ordered from a few different sites and especially look for ones with free shipping. Kelly's Running Warehouse might have been the last one.

Jackie...not sure when I will do another race. But I know I will...:)..I am always happy with the high GPA's...Glad to hear your hamstrings are doing better. Always nice to increase the mileage! Good job with the iTrain workout and yoga.

Christine...I couldn't believe I got the 4.0 2 days in a row! Good job with Mental Toughness. Hope you caught up on sleep last night. Hope you found some cute clothes at the party.

Karen..I hope it stays cool for your long run. I did watch some of the game last night. Congrats on the BIG TV!! I have been a football fan since I was about 12! Sorry your Mom has kidney stones. Hope they go away soon from the meds.

Update on my Mom. Well happy days!! She got to the re-hab facility and feels MUCH better now. No tubes sticking all over her body. You could see in her face how relaxed she was and now she is closer to my work! She is missing smoking and I guess someone suggested to her this could be a good time to quit. She feels at her age, why should she stop now? Well she cannot smoke in re-hab anyways but I had hoped she might actually want to quit. Smoking is for sure one thing I am happy I never took up.

Today is Bodymax upper body and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Happy Friday and all that to the lovely ladies in the Cheetah Den!!!

Karen – thanks for the update on your mom! I am happy to hear the pain is only kidney stones – but those are the most painful of all afflictions. Your poor mom. I’m glad she has you there! My DH is the same – although we only have a 42’ flat screen. We also have a 27” flat screen in the garage, where DH spends most of his time.

Wendy – I find myself with less time when I don’t work, then I do when I do work. I’m not as organized! Enjoy the free time! Glad Joey had a great first day at school! How cute that he’s Mr. Social Butterfly! {{{HUGS}}} again to you and your BF over the loss of her mom.

Jackie – ITA with the Spinervals names. They make me smile while I’m grimacing in pain from them. There’s a reason people call him Evil Coach Troy! Hope you slept well. I did last night!

Cathy – OOOOH! Your friend is going to have her baby! How fun! Enjoy visiting her. *Sends good vibes for a fast and “easy” delivery* I did sleep well last night. I find when I do a good tough workout, I sleep. Cannot do that every day, though – I’m not Shelly. ;)

Wendi – Man, what a huge effort you make for your grandmothers! What a sweet gesture! Yeah, I don’t scrub my kitchen floors with a toothbrush either. Who has time? I did get a cute pair of jeans and a cute skirt. Can’t show them as it’s “invitation only”. Kind of weird if you ask me, but the clothes are nice.

Carole – oh, so happy to hear about your mom! I can imagine she would feel much better without the tubes! ITA about smoking, although I did for a bit. I’m just glad I quit! So totally not worth it! I did get good sleep last night and a few cute clothes. :p

Today is basically a play day at work. We have a company beach party in Santa Cruz starting at noon, but a group of cyclists will be riding over, and I’m riding over with them. We’re leaving a 9:30AM. I cannot imagine that it will take us more than about 2.5 hours, but we’ll see. It’s easier than my other rides, even though we are still going over the mountain. I have a ride back, so it’s only one way (it’ll be around 38 miles). My clothing party was fun – a little too fun – I ended up buying a cute skirt and a pair of jeans. So much for not spending. Anyway, have a great day all. I’ll take the camera and post some photos.

Good morning!

Jackie – I agree!! I think we are just all overloaded!!

Wendy – I am so sorry about your BF’s mom. Good luck to little Joey on his 2nd day of school!

Cathy – I will check Target this weekend for the Sharkies. If they don’t have them, I will order. Thanks for the info on Running Warehouse, also! Good job on the 5 mile run last night!

Wendi – Have a good visit with the “grandmothers!”.

Gloria – Hey there! Enjoy the run and hope your day goes well!

Carole – Thanks, I will check out the Kelly’s Running Warehouse, as well. I am glad your mom is doing better! I sure hope she uses this time to quit smoking! I hear of a lot of “older” people that say “Why should I quit now?”…..but I smoked in my 20’s and I remember that I felt better almost immediately. I know, though, that a lot of people that have smoked for a long time just will not quit. 

Christine – I’ll trade you jobs! That sounds cool! Sounds like a wonderful ride! The clothing party sounds like fun, too!

Last night I did a 7 mile run and GS Timesaver BS&B.

Hey to everyone and I will BBL!

Linda

Hello Cheetahs!

Wendy - So sorry to hear about BF mom. The family will be in my prayers. Know you will do what you can at this time. Glad you were able to make her smile. Glad you're enjoying school as much as Joey.

Cathe - So the kids are sizing you up, huh? ;) Glad you have a good group. I think easing up on the running along with stretching helped the hamstrings. Cut the speed on those high inclines. Just need to listen to my little short legs when they're telling me they can't go faster. How exciting about the baby! Hope mom and baby are doing great!

Gloria - Hi! Glad school is going well. Hope you had a good run.

Wendi - With all those people coming to visit at one time, think I'd be a little stressed too. You're handling it well though. Don't miss dial up at all. Have fun with the family tomorrow.

Carole - Glad you mom is feeling much better. Getting rid of all the tubes is a major lift in itself. Hope the rehab gets her back on her feet quickly. This would be the ideal time to stop smoking. Maybe you can convince her before she's released. Enjoy BM UB and your run!

Christine - Glad you scored with the clothes last night. Have fun at the party today and enjoy the bike ride over. Sounds like so much fun.

Linda - Good run and weight work last night.

I did the Firm Cardio Sculpt. I ran on treadmill during cardio sections. Nice little workout.

DD will be home this evening for the open house tomorrow.

Have a fantastic day!

Lunch Break Lunch Break. I managed my 10 miles today in this stinking heat. Last day of this I hope. Hannah is coming our way as a tropical storm so dh and I have to go tie up the trampoline so it doesn't fly away to Kansas. It really shouldn't be too bad. We could use the rain and God knows we could use the cooler weather.

Cathy- Nice job on the 5 mile run. I know it's hard fitting in long runs with school but your doing a great job. I hope you have a nice visit with your BF and the baby. Boy or Girl?

Gloria- We miss you too.

Wendi- Dont' sweat it. I know your house is lovely. It can be stressful ( like you need anymore stress )but I'm sure your going to have a wonderful visit. Thanks so much on the compliments of homeschooling. It really is nice when people do take the time to make you feel good. And you made me feel good for sure. HUGS

Wendy- I'm gald Joey had a great first day in school. Do you feel like you had more time today. Seems like even when I have less to do around here it's endless. Your not alone. You did good girl yesterday. I know it was hard letting him go to school.

Carole- Yeah for your mom. I'm happy she is now in rehab. As for smoking you can only hope. My dad with 2 anyersm ( one in his brain) and still he smokes. He goes the distance when forced when in a hospital stay but once he is home he goes right back. I hope she can do it. Now the Giants are dh team since he was a young boy. I"m glad they won because had they not I would not had a happy camper around here.

Christine- Heck we got TV's in the bedroom and kitchen for pete's sake. However, they are small compared to the monster in the living room. My 6 yo is really short and when she sat on the sofa she told us she felt like she was at the movie theater. Now that's bad. Secertly I love it though. Have a nice bike ride today and do take pictures. I love it.

Linda- Great 7 mile run. Almost the big day.

Jackie - I love your idea about running through the cardio sections! That would really be good! I will have to try that!

Karen - Great job on the 10 miler in the heat! Hanna is going to bypass us :<( I was hopeing for some of her rain. We are supposed to get a little rain tomorrow....but just from a cold front. I hear ya on needing the cooler weather!

Below is a link to my Distance Run pics. The one of me by myself is a horrid, horrible, horrible picture! I hesitate to post the link 'cause it is so awful....but it was a very memorable moment for me  LOL....don't laugh ;)

Hi Ladies.

Well I had an eventful morning and now the weekend is going to be jam-packed...

This morning DS was rarin' to go to school but when we got there he got really shy and wouldn't let me put him down. He is 40+ pounds and very strong. He was latched on to me for dear life and would scream every time I tried to get him to stand up. Finally one of the teachers did the ol' pry him away from me trick (we did alot in babysitting at the gym!LOL) and he FLIPPED OUT. I said I love you I'll be back later and goodbye to him and walked out the door. All the while he was red faced and screaming for me. My heart was breaking but I KNEW I couldn't give in. Moms give in all the time at the gym and it's not good so I kept going. Once outside where I couldn't be seen I could STILL hear him. He was soooo loud. I waited for about 5 mins and he hadn't calmed down. I finally couldn't take it anymore and started walking to my car with tears rolling down my face. I got so upset because it's not like him to do that so I felt horrible leaving him like that. I thought about him all morning but thankfully I wasn't crying the entire time! LOL When I went back to pick him up the teacher said he was upset for maybe 5 more minutes and then he calmed down and was fine but had gotten himself so worked up that he peed his pants so they had to change him. :D Thank goodness for that extra set of clothes, right? ;)

When we got home I gave him a snack and then he sat down to watch a movie. I walked away for about 15 minutes and when I came back expecting to sit down and watch with him, he was passed out cold on the couch! He's been sleeping for atleast 30 mins now. He NEVER falls asleep anywhere but the car or his crib/bed! He must be EXHAUSTED! I don't even want to move him to get him upstairs cause I don't want to disturb him. I'll just let him nap right where he is. He'll wake up when he's ready. :)

I got the email giving the information for BF's mom. They are having 3 visitations and I'd like to atleast make an appearance at all of them. This is going to make for a VERY tight schedule on Sunday. The first visitation is tmrw evening from 7-9 which is no big deal except that the weather is likely to be awful. Sunday morning I have to wake up early to run 13 miles. Come home, eat, rest if there's time, shower and head out for a noon time Birthday party back in the same area where the services are being held. The party is from 12-2 and the first of 2 visitations that day is 2-4 so I am hoping my mom can watch DS while I go there for a bit. I don't know if I'll be able to make it back in the evening though b/c thinking about it now...I am likely to be exhausted by then. I'll feel badly but I don't think BF expects me to make myself sick in order to get to all 3. TBH, she probably is not expecting me at all 3 anyway. If I can manage it and my mom is willing to watch DS then I will stay in town all afternoon and go to both but I'll play that by ear....Gosh I feel so bad for BF. She was sooooo close to her mom. She's a strong woman though so I know she'll be ultimately okay. :)

Sorry for the rambling....I am feeling the need for a cup of coffee. I'll come back for personals in a few!:)

ETA: LOL amongst all the rambling I forgot to post my work out. Shame on me! I ran with Grace for 5.18 miles after work today. It was tougher then usual. I think it's the timing. I'm used to relaxing after work for a while before I work out so getting right into it must be hard for my body. I'll adjust though I guess. :)

Wendy - Oh my! Poor Joey!!!! Poor Wendy!!!!! I am sure he will adjust soon and be just fine with it. Chloe used to do that when she first started pre-school. She has now started 1st grade (seems impossible!). Great job on your workout!

Wendy - That is good of you to want to be at all 3 visitations, but I am sure your BF would not expect you to be at all 3. It would be awfully stressful for you to try to do all that you have to do and be at all 3. It is soooo hard when you lose your mom :( I really feel for her.
Take care of yourself, too, ok?

Wendy- My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry about the day you had. Poor little Joey. He was so happy yesterday. I know kids can go day to day but it so hard all the way around when that happens. Hopefully he will have a good weekend and Monday he willl put it behind him.

Jackie- Good luck with the open house. Hope you get lots and lots on housewarming gifts.

Linda- thanks for the photos they are great. Makes me get all excited for my race.

:)HI CHEETAHS!!!!!

You have been missed. :) Getting into the swing of things takes some time. I was so tired after school last night that when I went to pick up the dogs from Dh's work I snapped something fierce at Dh when he asked me to drive all the way home, pick up the garbage and then drive it all the way back into town to drop it off. I was over it after 5 min. Just tired. The first week is always like that. He didn't take it personaly. Anyway...

Cath: Congratulations to your BF! How has it been at school? The first month is always the holiday period where they are really good. My group seems really good too, much better than last year. Even my coteacher agrees. I have one with ADHD and his parents are not consistent with the meds. I think he was on them today, but at the end of the day he was all fired up. I think he will be my permanent "job" person. I have been putting him on tasks like that and he seems to enjoy it quite a bit. He is a sweet boy, just a little busy. Great job going with the flow with the workouts. That is what I have done this week. Plus a wierd hammie thing that came out of nowhere. I didn't work out on Wednesday and Thursday morning I had a bad type of pain there. This morning it was gone and I did run and didn't feel it. It must be those dang dress shoes!

Wendi: I will let my BF know about the software. It seems so ludicrious that we cannot get high speed this day in age! DH has called the cable company and they have no plans of putting it out here. I am not a clean freak either. It will be nice to see the fam, at least for a little while! :) DH's parent's can be annoying too.

Wendy: Awww, poor Joey AND mommy! I think you did the right thing. I have seen the results of coddled children. Not so good. I hope that doesn't offend anyone. I imagine I would have a mental break down if I had to do what you did today! :) I am sorry about BF's mom. You are sweet to attend all the ceremonies. It is hard to reajust with new priorities/obligations. At least you got a workout in. :)

Carole: Good news your mom got into the rehab facility. One of my BFs is a smoker. He quit of last weekend, but has had a cigarette since then that I know of. I hope he didn't start again. I have always told the kids that smokers are not bad people, they are just addicted. You are quite impressive with those 4.0's! :)

Christine: Glad the work issues were resolved. You are riding like crazy...GREAT! Some new clothes are a good thing. Can you name the company that does this? I have never heard of one of those parties.

Linda: I have not checked out your pics yet. I am sure you are being over critical, as we all can be at times. :) Great run and weights today! School has been going really well.

Jackie: My hammies always are the tight spot for me. See my post to Cathe. I did have a nice run today. I could have run longer than I did, but I am on alert from the flare up the other day. Are you excited for the open house? It sounds like fun. :)

Karen: Great run today! :) I have missed you ladies, but, as you know, life just happens. That stinks about the tv. :( We bought a really nice tv and tried to hook it up and found out it was damaged in shipping. Luckily it was easy to replace with the company we bought it from. Thank you for sharing your homeschooling information. We live in a high poverty area and there are some people who homeschool just because their kid gets in trouble all the time and the parents do not want to deal with the school. Then they can't take it anymore and send them back to public school and they have a ton of holes that we have to try and fill. That is my experience. You sound like a great teacher! :) PLEASE know that I DO NOT think homeschooling is a bad thing, it is NOT. That is just what happens a lot where I live. :)

I have been a good busy. I had a wierd hammie thing develop the other day, but I woke up this morning and felt fine. So wierd. Ran 4 easy miles. Could have done more, but was a little nervous about it, so I backed off. DH is geeked about bird season, so he is with a friend siting in his gun. I have a VERY nice class!!!

See you all tomorrow!

no baby and no workout, either

Evening, cheetahs! :)

Well, my friend has been at it for over 12 hrs. and she is about to go in for a C. I did not go to the hospital but have been waiting around for updates. Opted not to run or work out as much for the fact that, after work today, I was plum exhausted. Ended up dozing off for about an hour. It was a great opening week, but the busy-ness of back-to-school + the added excitement must've knocked me right out.

Gloria :: a shout-out to my fellow hardworkin' teach!

Wendi :: I hope the pad passes "inspection." :) This is a job where ya GOTTA be flexible & roll with the punches, so I have become very good at that since I became a teacher. All in all, my view is life's too short to get cranked up over nothing. In an ultra-busy week, 4 workouts instead of 6 is good enough, in my book. Once we get through BTS night, things will begin to settle. This is typical September. All is good. :)

Wendy :: (((HUGS))) Sorry it was a hard day for Joey & you. It must have been heartbreaking to walk away, but ITA with how you handled it. The other way would just make the separation harder and more drawn out...I also agree you needn't stress over trying to make it to all three visitations. If you're there for just one of them, you'll have fulfilled your role as a good friend. And no doubt you will continue to be there for her in the weeks and months ahead when she'll need to lean on you...Well, as much as I love my job, if I had to miss, say, a whole WEEK of workouts, I wouldn't be happy, but one or two during the known busy times is nothing worth spazzing over. It just is what it is sometimes. Stinks that you can't take the yoga class you like. Will you do the centergy class instead?

Carole :: oh, I'm so happy to hear things are on the upswing for your mom. I was kind of hoping, too, that she might want to quit the smokes, but I have seen that viewpoint in several of my relatives or friends. They wanted to do it "their way" up til the very end. Can't argue with that.

Christine :: you definitely have the coolest company ever!...Oh, I wish I had Shelly's energy. But I have come to terms with the fact that getting a challenging mental workout on a daily basis does zap some of it for me. Have to adjust my expectations during the school year and try to find the balance. I just ain't gon' be one of these superwomen! :) Hope you enjoyed the ride and had a great time @ the beach party. Looking fwd to the pics.

Jackie :: oh yes--that's all part of the game. They're sizing us up every second. Those first impressions are critical. I feel we're off to a great start--my class sizes are a tad large, but the kids seem very sweet. Good vibes on this group. Got those short, little legs, too, but unlike you, they never want to go fast! *lol* Glad that strategy has paid off for you. Hope the open house preparations are all in order.

Karen :: you ran in THIS goop??? Kudos to you. It's been brutal the past couple of days. They are having a girl.

Linda :: great workouts as always. You are really killin' it with mileage AND weights--awesome!! Most Targets have the berry blast Sharkies only in either individual bags or the box. It's in the supplement aisle...I thought your pics were great. We are always our own toughest critics, but seriously, you are gorgeous, lady! :) The photo you didn't like did NOT look bad to me at all. You look graceful and full of energy even at the finish. I always look like I'm gasping for my last breath. *lol*

I received an email yesterday from the Livestrong folks. They are sending out a performance top, hat, and sneakers (yellow, I'm guessing??) that they would like us to wear on race day. I am definitely NOT experimenting with shoes that day, but I thought it was cool nonetheless. And oh yeah, I made my fundraising goal the other day! Yippee!!!

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Gloria :: OMG, the shoes! I feel your pain--literally. *lol* I wore an especially pointy pair of heels yesterday, and when I took them off at the end of the day, I had some pretty intense pain in the ball of my foot. Same foot where I have the other problems (bunion & numbness), yada ya. It actually hurt to put any weight on it, almost like the bone was bruised or something. Wasn't sure if I could bang out that run or not, but luckily, it subsided enough that I could. I love the look of heels, but I seem to be struggling more and more with wearing them all day and being on my feet. Chuckled about the holiday period. True, true. But with that in mind, all indicators are looking good. I can sense where the challenges will be, but I'm feeling optimistic. I find myself drawn to the underdog kids and can usually get a good rapport going. Great job with your run. Smiled at DH geekin' out over the birds. :)

Personals

Karen: Actually what happened this morning doesn't seem to have affected DS. He still wants to go back on Monday. :D Apparently the big ruckus ended up being about wanting a kiss goodbye but he was being so crazy that I just wanted to get outta there before it got worse and I forgot to kiss him! Perhaps had I remembered to kiss him he would have calmed down sooner? Who knows. Kids are funny! Glad the kidney stones are the culprit. They are painful but minor in the grand scheme of things so I'm happy that's all it is.

Linda: I will do what I can as far as the visitations are concerned. I have a pretty packed Sunday morning with the run and the party so I have pretty much decided to only go to one that day. I am going tmrw night as well though. I actually spoke to my mom and she agreed that going to all 3 is totally uneccessary. I kind of know that it is but there another reason I wanted to do it. A reason that's actually quite childish of me. I don't know if you heard/read about my issues with BF in the recent past where I was feeling like I was being "downgraded" so to speak and replaced by a girl she works with? Well thankfully the situation has seemed to do a turn around so I'm not really concerned about that anymore BUT this girl told me she is going to all 3 visitations so now I feel like she'll look like the better friend if I don't show up at all 3 too. How juvenile and catty am I being!?! Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. I can only do so much...BTW, I checked out your race pics and I think they are great. If you wanna see bad race pics you should check out mine some day! BLECH!

Jackie: Every time you mention a Firm work out you "bring me back" and make me wish I hadn't sold them. Oh well. I only have room for so many work outs. Out with the old and in with the new I say!:p

Christine: Sounds like you had a fun day planned for today. Can't wait to see the pics! I am definately feeling much more in control and happier over all now that Joey is in school. I think perhaps choosing to be a sahm for this long was the wrong choice for me. If I decide to have another child I will be exploring daycare options for sure. I don't think I'd want to whisk a new born off to daycare but I think definately within 6 months to a year I'd be lookin' to get back to work.

Carole: So glad your mom is happier now that's she's in rehab. I don't blame her. I hate IV's and all that crap too. Much prefer to be needle and wire free. It drove me nuts when I was in the hospital having DS! Still doing big sister avoidance? :p

Gloria: Glad your hamstring feels better and you had a good run today. That's great that you have a nice class. Always a plus when you LIKE your students, ey? :D

Cathy: Congrats on making your goal! That's awesome! Over 12 hours of labor and NOW they wanna do a C section? OMG how that just ticks me off! I am soooo glad that didn't happen to me. My feeling is don't put a woman through THAT many hours of pain and anguish only to wisk her off for a C section in the end. How unsatisfying that must be! Shoot after all I went through atleast I knew that I pushed that baby out all by my darned self. I wasn't going through that pain for nothing! You know what I mean?? LOL Sorry...I got a little carried away there!:p After reading your feelings as well as the other Cheetah's takes on this and after talking to my mom too, I have decided I won't kill myself to get to all 3 visitations. I am going tmrw night but will play Sunday by ear. Perhaps I can make one but it won't be both. That's for certain. So I am not sure how/why but things with BF have seemed to straighten themselves out. I never said anything to her about how I was feeling but yet all of the sudden she started contacting me more and then when we went to see the SATC movie together it was like nothing had changed. Weird. Kinda makes me feel like a fool but the feelings I was having at the time were quite real. That being said, the girl that I thought was taking my place emailed me stating that she was going to be at all 3 viewings and as I told Linda above, THAT is what made me think I needed to be at all 3. I thought perhaps if she was doing it that it was the right thing to do but more so, I didn't want her to look like a better friend then me. Am I a whacko or what!? LOL That is the catty, childish behavior that I despise yet I was about to behave exactly that way! Yes, for now I will be taking the Centergy class on Wednesday mornings since I have that day off this month. I'll probably head to the gym right after I drop Joey off at school that way I'll have time to get a good run in first. :)

Okay, now that I've finished my novel!!! :p ...So DH is STILL at work. They are working serious over time to prepare for tmrw's storm. They are doing what they can to deter the plant from shutting down because of the storm. He probably won't be home until 11 and he was in work at 7am. Thankfully tmrw with the weather the way it's going to be, he'll have nothing better to do then sleep and be lazy most of the day. I'm sure he'll love it!:D

I'm bummed that he's workin' so late. I don't have anything to get up for tmrw (except my son but I'm used to that!) and have all day to be lazy as I don't even have a work out planned. I thought tonight would be an awesome Wii night for us. We could have some drinks and some salty snacks and GH the night away but now that isn't gonna happen. ACK! Oh well. I may just have to have a drink anyway! ;)

One more thing and then I promise I'll shut up for the night! LOL I put DS to sleep for the night in underwear for the first time tonight! Wanna take bets on wether or not he's soaked in the morning!? :D I'll report back tmrw and let you know!

Good night Girls! HUGS!

Cathy- Great job on making your fundraising goals. I bet you can't wait to get all the goodies. I wouldn't wear the shoes either but they are still nice to have.

Gloria- Gald your first week is done and now you can take it easy this weekend before Monday. I bet the first few weeks are hectic. Don't worry about thinking that some homeschoolers don't school because you are absolutely right. They Don't. If kills me as much as you. I suppose those are the parents who just don't want to deal and then ship them back to you to let you deal with it for awhile. Really I can understand. I'm just happy to tell a differnt side. I appreciate you all giving me the chance to talk about it. I should thank you. Enjoy your weekend.
