::: CHEETAHS ::: Fri., 12/8

Hey all – ended up doing the standing leg work and just the glute work of GS Legs (and I did GS Biceps) because I had to take DD13 to school. But, that was enough. :+ I’m kind of enjoying this rotation. I like allowing myself to do two days a week of weights only. It’s fun. Went shopping over lunch – and ended up buy a pair of pants for ME!! I don’t think I’m getting this Christmas shopping thing yet! I can’t believe I just discovered this mall! The Outlet stores and prices are incredible! Gap jeans for $14.99? Eddie Bauer (and I can get TALLS!!!! The pants I bought were dark red cords from Eddie Bauer). Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister (for DD17) – a Levi’s outlet with good prices ($19.99 for Levi’s). Nike, Mikasa… And many more. I’m thinking I’m going to be spending a lot of time there… But I need to move beyond me and start buying for the girls. And yes, I have FINALLY started my Christmas shopping – bought some Gap stuff for the girls yesterday, and did a huge order from Amazon.

Carole – I’m sorry to hear that after 26 years there are still trying years. Although, I should probably have figured that out by now as after 6 they can be trying. Well, best wishes for the 27th year. May it be the best ever. (Have had a few of those, too). Hope the Thai food is fabulous. I’m still craving it. I guess I’ll have to make it myself.

Jess – enjoy your Christmas Party – it sounds very nice. I love hearing about your family. It sounds so wonderful.

Elaine – I so know what you mean! This is a really good group and we are really supportive and encouraging to each other. Each and every member here is very special and I’m honored to be a part of this group, too! Enjoy your runs.

Laurie – oh, what a jerk! I wonder what crawled up his, well, you know! Seriously – I’m sure you were over there causing all sorts of trouble, and making demands on him, etc… Yeah, right. Well, now you know why he’s single. There are single GOOD men out there. I’m just bummed because he seemed so nice… Want me to whap him upside the head with a silly putty hammer? Hope your car tire situation was resolved without much effort! I hate when that happens. When I did Search, I was always running over nails and such as I did so much off road driving. The local tire patcher got to know me really well.

Colleen – you are FAR braver than I! I complain at running when it’s 40! 7 degrees – eh? Wow… Enjoy your excavation into your pantry. My mom was a WW2 baby, and she saved EVERYTHING! – when she passed away we dug through her pantry and literally found things older than I am and I’m 42.

Judy – wow! 4-6 inches of fresh snow? Man, I’m volunteering for the position of Wimp of the Group!

Susan – What’s funny is that B&G affects me more than GS Legs. I can do GS legs and run the next day. I can’t do that with B&G. I just think different exercises affect people differently. About your mom – I’m glad you’re going. I was not able to due to conflicts with other family member’s schedules, and I will always regret it. Spend as much time with her as you can. You’ll never say you wish you spent less time. It’s just so hard with a family and a life 2000 miles away (my mom was in Maryland). But don’t feel bad about wanting to have Christmas at your own house. It’s natural. It doesn’t sound selfish to me at all, especially as you are going, despite how much you wanted to start those traditions. {{{HUGS}}} You and your mom remain in my prayers.

OK. I'm back! I had so much fun with the kindergarten class this morning. After two hours my small headache was quite magnified and I was ready to leave when my shift was done!! LOL!! I have no idea how teachers do this day in and day out. Cathy, you must have a tremendous amount of patience, compassion and understanding.

Susan, I am glad that you will be visiting your mother for Christmas. I know exactly how you feel about not wanting to travel, preferring to have your own traditions. We travelled once to my in laws, packing up our Christmas and driving it a two day car trip away. Ugh! I told my DH that I will never do that again! But, with your mom being sick, I don't think that you will regret it. If this turns out to be your mother's last Christmas I can't imagine that you would regret putting off your traditions for one year. And it looks like you might be hooking up with our lovely Jess!! Makes me want to go to Peoria too!!

Laurie, You said all you need to say for me to not like what's-his-name!! LOL!! To me the sh!t hitting the fan is what makes life worth it all! Seriously, he must have a very empty existence! Consider yourself the lucky winner here! I wonder how many more exclamation marks I need for you to get the idea that I mean what I say!!!

Christine, What rotation are you doing? I never caught which one it was. Maybe I need to do a rotation for once. I think I'm succumbing to whatever it is that ails Wendy when it comes to settling on what to do for a workout. Oh God, help me now!! (just kidding, Wendy)
Where is your new mall?

Carole, Your DH is sweet to bring you flowers even in times of trial, no? I'm thinking that my hands cramped in RTTC because I was using two 10 lb dumbbells and while my upper body muscles were not that fatigued (remember, I only got 1/2 way through) I think my hands are weak compared to my biceps, shoulders, etc. Not only that but I have carpal tunnel syndrome so constantly gripping the weights might be part of the problem. I think I might do better with a barbell so will give it one more shot using that instead.

Judy, Brrrr! Were you able to allow any part of your body to be exposed at all? I just *know* I would give up running outside in the winter if I had to deal with 16 degree temps.

Colleen, 7 degrees?     . Ummmm, I don't think wimp and Colleen should even be used in the same sentence!! Holy moly woman!

I do believe that's everyone here today. I'm going to go put on some sweats and lay around watching TV until about 1/2 hour before DH gets home. Then I'm gonna jump up and look real busy!! Have an awesome night everyone. Talk to ya'll tomorrow!

Well I pumped my tire back up with my little air compressor and so far so good! I'll take it in to have it looked at as that tire seems to lose air more quickly than the others. I worked at the spa last night, it was kinda weird being back there. So much negativity was flying around that place in the last weeks that it's hard to remember that the slate has been wiped clean. I'm back in tomorrow morning and am looking forward to it, Saturdays were always light hearted and fun at the spa. Another reason that I'm thrilled it's open, foils and a hair cut only cost me $8.00!! My hair is quite red now with highlights at the top and in my bangs. I love it!

Colleen, you gave me a chill just reading about your run. Thanks for your encouraging words about dating, the path of least resistance is staying at home, unfortunately Mr. Ridiculously Wonderful (who I know is out there somewhere) doesn't know where I live:+

Susan, I think it's great that you will go to your Mom's for Christmas, what a lift for her spirits to be with you and your family. I don't think there is anything selfish about wanting to stay home and I hugely admire the selflessness that you have towards your Mom.

Jess, Okay, that's why my ears were ringing, you were thinking of ME:7 That really is a fun sequence and I'll be singing that song for the rest of the night:+

Christine, whoa Girl, you have been doing some serious shopping! I want GAP jeans for $14.99!!!! Sounds like you're enjoying mixing things up! I'm loving the silly putty hammer idea:+ I guess what discourages me most is that I was so naturally attracted to him. I really enjoyed getting to know him and felt kinda smitten before we even went out. My instincts weren't very good on this one and I'm chewing on that more than anything.

Elaine, I hear you about teachers, I don't know how they do it either. I worked as a substitute teacher about 6 years ago and came out thinking that every parent should have to do some of that to see how their 'little darlings' are during school!! I love what you said about 'sh!t hitting the fan is what makes life worth it all'. It's so true, we love good days where nothing much happens but it's in the throes of life's curves that we love each other better and get to see what we are truly made of. I'm just gonna think on that for the rest of the evening!

I'd better go see how little Faith is doing, she felt better today but her eye was swollen shut. Poor kid, she got contact lenses and a new haircut this week and was chomping at the bit to show her lovely self off at school but that'll have to wait until Monday.

Nighty night Cheetahs :)

Take Care
Laurie

Judy I dont know if I could run in that cold of weather!!

laurie-I cant believe that guy would even tell you that. sometimes I think my cousin who is now seperated from her husband , is lucky not to be tied down or have to answer to someone. I think being with someone and being alone both have there advantages and disadvantages.the right man will come along for you though.

we had our christmas party tonight for work. It was fun! we all went to the depo intown. Its a bar but they make pizza and finger foods etc... It might be our last because our company might lose the contract where we currently work. I really like the people I work with and hope that we dont have to leave the building we now work in. we will get relocated to other buildings that we currently are in contract with if this happens. well I have to work in the morning and will talk with you all later !!
