Good morning, cheetahs! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif

As much as I enjoy watching the Spanish side play, I have to root for my boys, the underdogs, today:

I am up early for a beat-the-heat long run of 7.

Gloria ~ Oh, losing a nail is no fun. Lucky for me, when it happened to me, it was wintertime. I think it's hard to have pretty feet when you're a runner...*lol* about the filing method. I did A LOT of recycling myself. :7...Will take a peek at Zappo's in a bit...I did enjoy my rest--thoroughly! Glad you did, too.

Wendy ~ I'm not sorry at all :7 I chose to rest nor do I have any intention of "making up for it," actually. http://i.slickdeals.net/images/smilies/emot-shakehead.gif After reading more of Galloway's thoughts on the subject, I have gotten away from that mentality of needing to "make up" workouts. If the body craves rest, it craves rest. If I want to do more, I'll do more. But as long as I'm working out most days of the week, I'm just not going to get obsessed...Sounds like a great time last night. Nice for you to have a chance to sleep in longer than usual.

Shelley ~ I definitely agree that the calorie burn would be higher with hills and sprints.

Shelly ~ thinking of you. Hope you've gotten word from your DSis & BIL that they're safe.

Have a great Sunday, everyone...BBL~

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..those Adidas are nice too! I think wearing sneaks to the chiro would be the best option. I had a chiro once that wanted me to stop drinking coffee...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/eng/problems.gif[/img] ..I don't think so!!! Thanks for the eye candy again...#2 is hot...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/fsc/thumbs-up.gif[/img] Good job on the 7.15 miles in the goop!! Enjoy the game...:D

Gloria...How funny about the Adidas. I have worn the Adissages for about 5 years or so, love the feel on my feet! I wear them too in the winter with socks. My rest days seem to come unexpectedly as I really don't plan for them. And chips...are they not a food group??...:D

I am running with my sister this morning. Most likely not very far due to the smoke. We will figure it out when I get to her house.

Have a nice day...:)

Good Morning!!

Slept in this morning and feeling good.

Cathy: I bet it is a good feeling to have your run out of the way already this morning. My end of the year filing method is not traditional, but I couldn't bear looking at them anymore! Good luck on the sandel hunt. I am always willing to pay a little more for good shoes, as I feel it is important and have problems when I don't. I vote for #1! :) Thank you for staying on task and posting the pics!!

Wendy: I was talking to DH on the phone as I was watching and he told me to wait till the last minute, so I did, and scored!!!! I never win anything so I was elated! :) It was $12 more than I really wanted to spend, but at least I saved $70 over retail. Glad you had a nice time. You got in a good workout.

Carole: Yeah, I really like these adidas. Mine are falling apart right now so I will have to get a new pair soon. LOL about the chips!! I will try not to buy any when I go grocery shopping today. Enjoy how ever long your run is with your sis. :)

Shelley: My treadmill had never seen an incline or sprint until I started doing Itead last year. I would say you burn a lot more calories, since when I started that, I dropped 5 pounds without changing my diet.

Last night DH and I went and met some friends who were floating the river and had a few CABS. Just hung out at home after that. Still deciding what I will do for a workout. I am feeling motivated by the chip consumption yesterday!! }( :) Have a nice day all!

Hey, Carole ~ Ha ha on the chips being a food group. I concur!...The Adissages are great -- it's like a little mini-massage -- but now I do like the Adilettes just as much. Hope the smoke isn't too bad this morning. I hear you about the caffeine. I made an attempt to cut back, but cut it OUT? I don't think so!

Gloria ~ I looked at some Chaco's on Zappos. I think this was the shoe my neighbor (also a runner) was raving about. I don't think they would get approval, either, though. I will just wear my flops on my own time and put on the sneakers when I get adjustments. Keep her off my back, so-to-speak. Ha :7 ETA: Didn't realize we were posting at the same time there. Ya know, I'm not really on the hunt for new shoes. I have about 4 pairs of flip flops I like to wear, so I'll just have to hide them from the doc. :)...Glad you had a chance to sleep in. Enjoy whatever workout you do!

Good Morning Ladies.

Carole: Have a nice run with your sister today but be careful with all of that smoke.

Cathy: Enjoy fussball! The first guy is a cutie but the 2nd one is HOT HOT HOT!}(

Gloria: Yup, waiting is the way to go! Congrats again! I have an 8 gig. TONS of space! Yoy are gonna LOVE it!:)

Today is my rest day but I might go for a run and rest tomorrow instead. Not sure yet but we'll see what happens....

BBL.

Cathy: Good idea to hide them from the doc. I am a shoe person, so I am always on the hunt for new shoes. It's funny, my DH likes shoes too. Caffeine is sacred to me, I would not give it up either!!

Wendy: I know I will love the 8G! I think the first thing I do will be download a CC. With all the rave about it in the OD it is hard to resist! :)

I have decided to do a run and abs from bosu blast. I also have to go grocery shopping. I am making french onion soup for the first time. Hopefully it turns out alright. I'll come back and see what you girls are up to this afternoon! :)

Gloria: I am a newbie to CC's and LOVE them! I think you will too. :) I made french onion soup once in my crock pot. It was super yummy!:9 I'm sure it will come out great for you. Enjoy it.

Good Morning Cheetah babes!

Wendy – Oh glad you got in a nice 5 miler at your mom’s house! We came in 3rd, but we were within 3 points of the winner. I do the Cathe/Cathy typo all the time. :p

Gloria – CONGRATS on your new toy!! You’ll have fun with your iPod! Yeah, that’s what the docs tell me. I usually only go when I think something is beyond my capabilities to heal. We all need rest days, so it’s good you took one. Sounds like you had a fun night last night!

Cathy – Good job on the run!! Go Germany!!! I think Lukas is better looking. :+ Thanks for the healing vibes! ITA about yoga – I’ll need to be cautious about yoga for a while. I think some of the moves would really hurt. I was careful stretching. The fires are amazing. We’re wondering if we’ll ever actually be able to see our mountains again. Right now they are covered in haze. Thanks for the eye candy! :p My favorite flip flops are actually lined with sheepskin. They are so comfy!!

Carole – How’d the smoky run go? How is sis doing? And how is John doing? I haven’t seen you mention him in a while. Is he doing better? Did you get any rain or any lightning? I was in the smoke all afternoon, but what can ya do? I’m coughing and sneezing more lately. I hope they get these things under control!

Wendy – good job at getting your workout done! I’m dying to do core. Yeah I enjoying “doing” Coach Sean yesterday!!! I guess that did not come out the way I intended *blushes*.

Waves to Shelley – don’t know the answer, but I figured I’d say hi!!

Shelly – Any word on your BIL? I’ve been thinking about him and your sister.

My elliptical experiment was successful, yeah! I did CC # 8, but went 2 resistant levels down from what I would normally do. I was happy just to be moving!! I even made an appointment for a deep tissue massage on Tuesday with a masseuse who is supposed to be really good. I explained what I needed and he told me he could definitely help. Even after standing for most of the night I’m feeling pretty good this morning back wise. I’m staying off my bike until Thursday. I promised myself that. The dress shopping was successful as well. I found a dress I love. Then I knew I had a winner in a pair of shoes when 5 women stopped trying on the shoes and said, “THOSE are cute shoes!” They are a little high and have stiletto heels, but boy are they cute on. :+ Hope the back isn’t too insulted. We had a blast at the chili contest. We even came in third and got a cute little ceramic chili dish. Tonight should be fun. I’m looking forward to seeing DH in a tux. I love a man in a tux! Hopefully we’ll make it to the party. *winks* Have a great day all! I have to go grocery shopping and do some cooking today. Not sure what workout I’ll do – maybe just a walk with Jimmy – he needs something.

Ladies,

I'm off to hang with Grace this morning. Planning on doing Run intervals #21/30. I haven't tried it since my TM problems started. If I have any troubel today I will punch up the incline to make up for the speed but I am hoping I will do well. After that and a shower at the gym, I am heading north early to shop with SIL before having dinner up there and then heading home with DS. That being said, I won't be back until this evening at some point.

Have a great Sunday everyone!:)

Gloria ~ I am a shoe hound, too, but I try not to go looking! :7 Oooh, the killer Bosu Blast abs. Enjoy! Mmm, French onion sounds good.

Christine ~ congrats on third place in the chili contest! Bet that was a blast. We absolutely must see pics of the dashing couple tonight! :7 I hope those killer heels are good to your back. But that deep tissue massage should do wonders. Have fun!

Wendy ~ happy shopping!

Gloria...I just got some new Adissages myself as my old ones were falling apart. My huge weakness is chips and I try for pretzels for my salt cravings! Sounds like you and DH had a nice evening last night. French onion soup sounds yummy. Enjoy your run and ab workout.

Cathy...I am sure I could make the chips a food group without any problem!! No, the smoke was not too bad, but I felt trying for more miles might just not be smart, so we went 6.

Wendy...we were careful and only went 6 miles. When do you start training for your 18 miler?

Christine...the run was good, we only went 6 miles as I did not feel trying for more distance was smart. Karen is doing well and running strong. John has just gotten over an infection. He had a bed sore on his glute that he did not take care of so it went into the bone. He was on a pic line (I think that is what it is called) with an antibiotic and had to stay on his stomach for 6 weeks. I worry about him a lot. Thanks for asking. We got about 5 mins of rain last night at about 6:20. Not sure if we got anymore later. I am glad the EXT worked for you. I think a massage will be great for the back!! Congrats on 3rd with your chili! I also love a man in a tux...have fun tonight.

Had a good 6 mile run with my sister. Still a lot of smoke...I sure hope it clears up soon. I got home and did 30 min on my EXT.

Hi Girls!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. (((HUGS))) I see that our dear friend Shelly needs them too. Sending them your way for you, Dsis and BIL. How scary! Good luck house hunting.

Cathy ~ Have to laugh at you "eye candy"!! :7 Good job on the 7.15 miler.

Gloria ~ What workout did you decide to do? Glad you slept in this morn. We did the same, but the eyes still popped open at 6A.x( I guess it's better than 5A. lol

Wendy ~ Your plan sounds like mine today...work out wise. Thought I'd rest, but just might sneak in a little run. Have fun shopping.

Christine ~ Are you injured? Take it easy in those stiletto heels, girl!! ;-)

Carole ~ Been thinking of you and Christine out there with all that fire. Can't believe you're able to run in that smoke.

I did not run with TNT y-day, but I did get in my 8 miles near the house. I did MM-upper body push/pull premix when I returned and Flexible Warrior running segment. I went by my mil's house to do the laundry and bring her the chicken noodle soup I made for her. She's in good spirits. I feel so much better that she's home and that we got the chance to talk one-on-one. I'll go back today with the kids to finish up the laundry, and to keep her company. She was pretty tired y-day. Sorry, I don't have time to go back for all the personals, but I'll try to stop in when I can. Thanks again ladies!!! You girls rock! :*

Carole ~ Ooh, poor John! That just sounds horrible for him. How is he coping emotionally these days?...I had some chips and salsa for a snack just now. :) Good job getting in 6 despite the poor air quality.

Dallas ~ it is good to hear from you and to know things are on an upturn. I always think attitude and the support system can make such a difference. By all means, do NOT worry about personals. We're happy just to hear from you with an update. Good job sticking with your training through the tough stuff.

I just finished the core routine shown in the current Women's Health (July/August). Yowzas. OK, I canNOT do a stinkin' hanging straight leg raise, but uh http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_shuffle.gif , I tried. Now that abs are done, it's onto the CABs!

Wendy: I am looking forward to my ipod so much. That is a good idea to make it in the crock pot. The recipe seems pretty easy. Hope you are having a nice time with your SIL! Hope your run was a good one.

Christine: I bet your outfit is beautiful! I am glad you signed up for a massage. They really do help. Congrats on the awesome 3rd place finish. You are making me hungry for white chicken chili!!! I hope you had a nice walk with the little guy. Have fun tonight!!

Cathy: My closet is FULL of shoes. But, so is Dh's, so I don't feel too bad. How is the game going? Are your boys winning?? I will be making the soup later and will tell you how it turned out. Hopefully I say Mmmmm! :9 I bought some crusty french bread to go with the soup that has rosemary in it.

Carole: Good idea to keep it a shorter run than have issues later. I do have some pretzels in the house, but I don't find them as tasty. Great strategy though! Any rain forcasted for you soon?

Dallas: Nice to see you on the thread. You have been missed. I agree with Cathy about keeping up with your training during all of this. Exercise always help me feel a little better about things. Get here when you can.
:)

I still have to run. Grocery shopping took a while. I am trying to buy more so that I don't have to go all the time during the week and that takes some planning. I woke up in the middle of the night with a charlie horse in my calf and it hurt so bad I wanted to scream, but didn't. I didn't want to horrify DH. I stretched it and it feels fine. I looked them up on the Internet and I guess lack of potasium and too much salt cause them. It must have been all the chips yesterday. I am swearing off of them because those buggers feel like you are being stabbed or something. Not that I ever have been, but I can imagine. Off to run.

Workout is done. 4 miles on the treadmill. It was looking stormy out there and we have a chance of thunderstorms. Felt great! Abs on the otherhand. Not so much. Will get my arse in gear and start fresh next week! Off to make dinner! Have a great night ladies!!!:)

Cathy – I’m sorry Germany did not win. I cheered my heart out for them!! As did DH. I do hope there are plenty of photos of DH and I tonight. Although I’ll be 6’1 to his 5’8. :p His Amazon lady. :+ The shoes are comfy though – nice and cushiony. Back is better, especially after a hour on the massage chair at the nail place. :p I’d like to see that core routine. Sounds interesting. Anything that uses my pull up bar (well, when I CAN use my pull up bar!).

Wendy – How did the run go? Did you conquer the treadmill? *crossed fingers and toes*

Carole – good job on the six mile run. The smoke is triggering my allergies, but it’s not too bad. I’m sorry to hear John had an infection. That has to suck being on his stomach for 6 weeks! I cannot even imagine how frustrating that is for him. And here I am whining because of a pulled muscle in my back.

Dallas sweetie! How nice to hear from you! I’ve been thinking of you and your family daily. Prayers are continuing. Glad MIL is in good spirits. I think that really helps a lot. When I do my ride, I’ll be thinking of Irene as well as my mom. I strained my back somehow. I think it was a bunch of little things that all added up. I guess I’m not Super Woman, even though I think I am. This, too, shall pass.

Gloria – Oh I LOVE shoes. The more the merrier. :p I love Chicken Chili, too. My DD19, upon hearing that I placed third was indignant, saying that I should have won because that’s her favorite chili recipe. :p Made me feel good as we have a kind of iffy relationship sometimes (she’s my step daughter). I get Charlie horses if I do not take calcium and magnesium pills and eat my bananas. Hope you’re cured!

I took today off of working out. I didn't want to push things and I had a lot to do. It's all done. :+ My nails look okay. I went for a dark red as my dress is black and white. I didn’t want French, because that’s what I typically wear. Oh well, no one will see the little mistakes. My toes look fab, though. I’m off to get dressed. Have a great night all! HUGS!!!

Dallas Your family remains in my thoughts and prayers. Shelly I'm thinking of your family as well. Just wanted to let you both know.
