Good morning!

Hey! I can't believe I got us started! :7 Hope everyone is doing great today!

I'll BBL!

Linda

Good morning Cheetahs and Happy Sunday,

Linda- you are the first one up this morning, lol.

since i didn't get to do HSC yesterday (only did 35 mins on the elliptical) that will be my workout choice of the day.

have an awesome day ladies and i will BBL:)

I am guzzling the coffee this morning and getting ready to go do some "chores" and then I plan to try to do a longer run (long for me) :) Probably on the treadmill, but if it warms up a little, I will try to go outside.

Good Morning Cheetahs!

I have yoga on tap for today. Sundays are normally my rest day but in order to fit yoga in this week, Sunday was the day to do it.

My calves are sooo sore today! OMG! All from a few reps on some stinkin' machine at the gym! I've been doing the calf work in the X but I'm still dyin' over here! Yowzas! }(

Sunny, Enjoy HSC. Do you train on Sundays at all?

Linda, How long is your run going to be today?

So DH and I went out to dinner last night and then to a comedy show. The tix were only $10 each and the show as about 1 hr 20 mins long. It was definately worth the $! The comedians were, ofcourse, not Howie Mandell calibur but we laughed. It was a good time. Today we are supposed to head up to the shooting range. After that we have to pick up DS from MIL's and head over to my mom's for dinner. I also have to pick up the house a bit...how did it get so messy again!?!? x(

Have a great day!

GOOD MORNING.................

I'm with you, Linda, I'm hoping to do a run this morning outside. It looks really nice out, but the air is still on the chilly side of high 20's. But, I think I will bundle up and enjoy the fresh air anyway }( .

I did KenpoX yesterday and (MAN, can't say it enough - LOVE THAT WORKOUT!!!!) I have DOMS all over from that little baby. ;-) }(

Not much on tap for today besides my run. I'm kind of in the mood for some spring cleaning - UGH - did I say that word????? CLEAN???? ;-) We'll see how the day goes.....

Have a fabulous day, CHEETAHS, I'm hoping to get back on later......

Marcia.:*

Good morning cheetahs

Linda...thanks for starting us! Glad the iTrain thing got worked out for you. I am going to run also, probably after some foam rolling and leg exercises.

Sunny...have fun with HSC. It seems like awhile since I have done a circuit.

Wendy...the foam roller is GREAT for calf pain...:)..Sounds like a fun night last night watching the comedians. Have a good time shooting. We have not done that for a long time. My DH is a good trap shooter but me, I like handguns...:)

Marcia...definitely bundle up if you run today! That is awesome you like KenpoX, I think it is really effective, but I just had a hard time bringing myself to do it.

I am doing PLB standing freestyle so with lighter weights. A good warm up on the EXT before running 4-5 miles. I am planning on taking it easy with the run, my pain is about gone so if it shows up during the run, I will come home and do more EXT. I will use the foam roller before anything...:)

Not real sore from BBC FullBody yesterday. I will say though I like Tony better than Barry...

Have a great day...:)

Hey Cheetahs! Yes....the house never stays together, does it? Always seems to sneak up on us when we least expect it. Oh well...onward and upward!

Sounds like everybody's having a nice weekend.

We went tubing last night and I'm glad to report NO CRASHES for me! LOL Tailbone is still in one piece! LOL. Got a good workout, hiking it up the hill, pulling along my 4 year old neighbor boy! FUN!

Today's workout is a 7-10 mile run. Unfortunately, I'm doomed for the treadmill because I'm too much of a wimp to run that in the 20 degree weather and snow/ice covered roads! LOL We're at DFiance's house now, we'll have breakfast then we're all headed back to my house. He'll keep the kids busy while I run on the TM. I'm going to download some new music to my mp3 player this AM, and it's funny that I'm finding dance/DJ/hip hop music to have an awesome beat for running. Who would have thought I of all people would enjoy that music? LOL

ANYWAY....have an awesome day....rock the workouts, and I'll see you all later!

Gayle

Good Sunday morning ladies!!

Wendy - Sounds like you had a good workout at the gym. How are you feeling? Glad you enjoyed your night out.

Linda - I got a confirmation right away from iTrain when I got the yearly membership. Hope it's straightened out. Enjoy your run today!

Colleen - Great job on the 3 miles!

Carole - Thanks! I'll do a search on the Freestyle. Glad you like BBC! Sometimes you don't think you're working that hard but the next day proves otherwise.

Marcia - Glad to hear KenpoX gives you DOMS. Enjoy your run.

Rest day for me.

Have a nice Sunday!

Jackie

Happy Sunday cheetahs! I had a fun but productive day yesterday. Got in a pretty good 12 mile run around a lake and made good use of the foam roller when I got home. DH and I took our motorcycles out for our longest ride yet. I ventured out onto the main road (scary)and took it up to 50mph. Still not confident enough to travel on high traffic areas but I'm getting there:) I was planning on a yoga session but instead opted on getting done some spring clean-up yard work, something I've been putting off for a while! Felt real good about that:7 I even managed a littel 30 minute spinning session!
Back to work tonight though:(

Linda- wooohooo! First one up today! Great job starting the thread... Cathy would be proud:) I'm sure the delay in responding to your iTrain purchase was because of the weekend. They have good customerservice and I'm sure everything will be okay. I'm with Wendy here.... curious minds want to know... how long is your long run today?

Jackie- Great job on your 3 mile run yesterday.... very fast for a training run!!! I'm seeing some age group awards for races in your future:) Have a great rest day!

Carole- 90 degrees yesterday? Hooboy, way to soon for this kind of hot weather! I read your post yesterday to Christine about the foam roller being good for cellulite also! Very interesting! I hope your run goes well for you today.

SunnyD- HSC today??? I'm amazed. I thought you'd be spinning furiously on your new bike!

Wendy- I think yoga is great to do on a "rest" day! I believe you about your calves being sore. I'm afraid that's an area that's pretty difficult to work well at home, or at least as well as a gym machine can, as you found out. You and your DH are going to a shooting range today? I'll admit me and my DH are somewhat gun nuts ourselves. Do you fire handguns, rifles, shotguns, skeet shooting... what's your bag? DH collects antiques and reconditions them. We particularly enjoy firing them.

Marcia- Hope you bundled up and are enjoying your run today! You go girl!! In a cleaning mood.... want to come over and do mine? I'm definitely in need of getting into that mood, but it's not happening!

Gayle- Hope you get in a good TM run listening to your hiphop!!! Glad your tailbone survived yesterday intact!

Time to get moving. For today it'll be Amy Bento's HiLoext and then..... B&G leg blast.... Oh no not THAT again.
Christine- I didn't get my morning chuckle from you:eek:

Later y'all

Shellyc

Hey Ladies...I'm heading out the door in about 20 mins for the day so I figured I'd get some personals in while I can...:)

Marcia, So did you run outside today? How was it? I am looking forward to beginning my next rotation as I will be incorporating the X cardios into it since I am not really using them now.

Carole, So what's the theory behind the foam roller? Is it a tool for stretching or for decreasing soreness in muscles? We have a handgun. DH would like to buy another one day. We bought this one for self-defense purposes but if we get into shooting at the range he would like to purchase another for that purpose. What is trapshooting?

Gayle, Enjoy your TM run. Glad to hear your tubing trip was a success w/no injuries this time! Sounds like so much fun!

Jackie, Enjoy your rest day. I am feeling good but my calves are screaming at me. They are actually a bit better after my yoga session this morning. I am living in fear of the dreaded calf cramp though! Pray it doesn't happen! LOL

Okay, I'm off...gotta fix the hair and get outta here! I hope to be back later!

Toodles!

Hey Shelly.

We were posting at the same time. We have one pistol/ handgun...whatever you call it! LOL It's not a real big one as this is my first experience ever shooting a gun so DH made sure it wasn't too powerful. We may get another one down the line but I don't really know what kind. A friend of our competes...she owns a couple of pistols and a rifle. She goes shooting almost every weekend! I wouldn't mind doing that but it's an expensive hobby! We can't afford it right now! LOL

Have fun with the B&G Leg Blast! I need to tackle that one again before my X rotation is over!!!}( }( }(

Hi Cheetahs.

I have a big favor to ask. I was going to work on running 4 days a week this year,

In the past I only ran 3 days using Cathes upper/lower/gym styles workouts on non running days.

I want to run 4 days a week and build up to running 8 to 10 miles by end of summer. ( steady run, hill repeats, tempo and one longer run )
How do I fit in my weight work and still get one rest day in a week?

Do I have to work out longer than 60 to 70 min a day?

Should I do one body part a day one top of the above runs with 3 total rest days? or do two total body workouts along with running 4 days.

I don't want to burn out but I need to jog my body to lose 15lbs.

My goal is fat loss and faster runs.

You can PM me if you want.

Thanks.

Colleen

Gayle..glad you didn't crash tubing!! Enjoy your TM run.

Jackie...I do think I will like the BBC's. I will try them out this coming week. If you have any Freestyle questions feel free to ask or PM me. Enjoy your rest day...

Shelly..sounded like a nice 12 miles. Yes...way too soon for the warm weather here. We need some rain. But I will take advantage of it to get in some yard work. I think about the foam roller and cellulite is like deep muscle massage and cellulite. But it has really made the pain in my areas diminish. Which has been a wonderful feeling for me. Enjoy the killer B&G leg blast!

Wendy...the foam roller is for taking pain away and I read an article in Fitness magazine yesterday that said it was as good as deep muscle massage for getting rid of cellulite. We have a few handguns and others that I don't know what they are...Trap shooting is shooting clay pigeons. My DH was on a team for that. Not sure exactly what type of gun they used but he did very well.

Colleen...when you say work up to 8-10 miles do you mean 8-10 miles for all the 4 days? Or just for a long run? You could do upper body 2-3 times a week and lower body 2 times a week doing the upper body on run day and fitting in a rest day somewhere...:)

I managed just under 4 miles. Stopped and talked and walked with a neighbor on my way back. Then did a 45 min iClimb on the EXT and used my foam roller 13 min before my working out and 10 min after.

Hi Carole. I mean to do 8 to 10 miles one day a week for my long run and 4 to 6 for my other runs.

Thanks for the help.

Colleen

Hey Cheetahs!!

Haven’t forgotten about you! I’ve just been busy, as usual. Yesterday I ended up doing the iRow 20 minute workout (the only one they have) which was okay, but I have a tough time getting my HR up with that one. Followed by iCycle 16 40 minutes. Today was Spinervals Virtual Reality – I really like that one. Sunny inspired me to go out and buy new shoes (my shoes were killing me – I’ve had them for over 10 years), and I got SPD cleats and pedals. Went to the local bike store and will never go to a big store again for my biking needs. They watched the way I walk just to angle the cleats perfectly for me. They also brought out every shoe in my size they had incase I liked something else better. Everyone in the store (and it was busy) treated me with the utmost respect. Love that.

The Charity event last night was kind of disappointing. They changed the order of events and kept the silent auction open past the live auction. Everyone was up and about yapping and chatting and I couldn’t really hear the live auction – which is always fun. Oh well. It’s over and I did my civic duty (so to speak – if attending a party can be considered a civic duty LOL). So this afternoon it’s cooking for the week. I fell out of the habit of cooking the meals for the week on Sundays and we’ve all suffered for it. If I have something healthy prepared and ready to pop in the oven I’m much less likely to order pizza or want to go out for something equally unhealthy.

I’ll be back in a bit for personals. Need to get back to the stove!! Thinking of you lovely ladies!

Hey everyone!

Wendy - My "long run" didn't end up being long x( I was planning on 8 miles, but there were too many icy patches and I kept slipping and had to tippy toe a lot and walk some....so I cut it short at 6 miles. But it felt really good! I hate to have sore calves! Because everytime I get really sore calves....I get horrible cramps at night! I don't know why...but I do :+ Your show sounds great! Glad you had a good time!

Marcia - Hope you got to do your outdoor run! Sounds like our morning temps were pretty close! It did warm up here, later, though!

Carole - I always did the Total Body BBC at the end of the week, after all of the other ones...so I was always alread sooo sore that I could barely move after that one! But after doing it a couple of weeks, I didn't get as sore. I like Tony and Barry a lot, I can't really say which I like better ....but Tony cracks me up and makes me smile....Barry makes me curse :+ Enjoy your run, legwork and roller!

Gayle - The tubing sounds so fun! Well, I took you up on your dare to get the yearly subscription! Shame on you!!!! }( (just kidding !:p ) Enjoy your run! I agree...HipHop does have a good beat for running! You are logging a lot of miles, lately! Good job!

Jackie - Enjoy your rest day! Hope you have nice, pretty weather! I did get the iTrain problem straightened out, thank goodness!

Shelly - Oh my goodness! You did a 12 mile run and also a 30 minute spin???!!! Great job! The motorcycles sound fun! I would never be able to operate one myself, though! I would be too big of a chicken! My friends have a Harley and always ride and they just love it! I would like to ride on the back of one with someone, though.....but not "drive" :+ Enjoy your workout today and don't work too hard tonight!

Colleen - Wish I knew the answer to your question! I really do wish I could find a way to fit it all in, without having to spend so much time working out! I love reading everyone's posts and workout rotations on here, because I get so many good suggestions and ideas!

Well, my "long" run ended up only being 6 miles. It was icy in a lot of spots, with no way around them unless I got in the grass, which had mud and more ice. I had to walk or tip toe through it, but it was still good except for that. I also did floorwork of Firm Vol I and used the foam roller. I am getting ready to go use the foam roller again!

Hope everyone has a great night and onward to Monday! Ugh...Monday already ;(

Linda

Christine - That bike store sounds awesome! I wish we had a running store around where I live that would go to that extreme! I remember when New Balance still had retail stores in Vegas, when I would go out there....they did that. We have no good ones here at all...besides chains :-( Sounds like you had a good spin! Congrats on the new shoes! Sorry the auction was disappointing :( I need to plan my meals better, instead of just deciding at the last minute what I am going to eat. Cooking for the week is what I need to do, too!

Linda

I’m back – meals are made. Thanks heavens. The chicken enchiladas are delicious! (I tried a bit of the shredded chicken). I also made Chickpea stuffed shells that are look interesting. And Mac and Cheese (low fat of course). I’m ready for a nap now!

Linda – Thanks for starting the thread! Hope it warmed up enough to run outside. Ya know – if I don’t cook for the week, I end up spending much more time doing it and after a 10 hour work day, the last thing I want to do is spend the next hour in the kitchen. It’s just so much easier. When I do it, I’m so happy for that week. The problem is finding an hour and a half on Sunday when I can just cook.

Sunny – so when are you going to test the bike? Hope you enjoyed HSC!

Wendy – amazing how different things work us so differently! But, I do HATE when my calves are sore. DOMs in my calves are my least favorite. Sounds like you had a great time last night – Happy Anniversary!!

Marcia – I love KenpoX , too. If you do it right, it’s killer. Have fun with your run!

Carole – I have my fingers crossed that you’re pain free and chilling happily right now! I’m on the fence about BBC. Probably won’t be for a while with the purchase of the new bike shoes and pedals…

Gayle – glad you survived your tubing adventure yesterday without and tailbone incidents! Enjoy your run!

Jackie – enjoy your rest day!

Shelly – so sorry I was not there for your morning laugh… ;-) Yep, you’re amazing alright – 12 mile run, motorcycling around, and still home for a spin session! You rule! How was the “Oh No!” workout? :+

Colleen – Good question – I’m interested in how the smart women here answer it. I’ve done the one body part a day thing. Are you splitting your running into a long run, a tempo or interval run and 2 easy runs? If so, I’d tack on some weights to the 2 easy run days, running only on the interval and long run days, and on your two rest days, strictly weights. You get 4 days of weights with 4 days of running and 1 day off. But I like Carole’s suggestion, too.

Well – I’m off to see if I can take my pedals off. If I cannot I’m going to take a quick ride over to the store to get them changed out.

Afternoon! Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. We have sunshine here but still a little breezy.

Carole - Glad to hear the pain is almost gone! I like Tony better than Barry too. Sorry to hear you don't think you will like BBC. I will definitely pm you about the freestyle when I get ready. Thanks a bunch.

Gayle - Glad you survived tubing! Did you get your run in?

Shelly - Good job on the 12 miles! Sounds like you're having fun learning to ride your motorcycle. Before long you will be hitting the highway. I was surprised at the time of my run yesterday. It was a comfortable run too.

Wendy - Glad the calves feel better.

Christine - Yay on the new shoes! Nice to get special treatment. Sorry the charity event wasn't good. I like to prep my meals ahead of time too. Makes life easier.

Linda - Sorry you had to cut your run short but it's better to err on the side of safety.

Have a good night everyone!

Jackie

Colleen...the best way to increase your mileage is not to go up more than 10-15% of your weekly total the next week. For example if you run about 15 miles a week then don't increase that by more than 1.5 miles the next week. You could slolwy ass a half mile to your long runs every week or as you get used to the distance. Linda is right, it is so hard sometimes to fit it all in. I do like following rotations, as that seems to help me. Have you ever checked out any of Cathe's?

Christine...sounds like you had a good spinerval and getting new shoes will help! Very nice to go to such a helpful store. I give you alot of credit going to a Charity event. You never quite know how things will go.

Linda..I plan on doing the BBC's next week so I am sure the Fullbody on Sat will kill me!! Maybe Barry's personality will grow on me...:)..Sorry about the icy run...but I do think the foam roller will help the sore calves!

Jackie...I just don't like Barry as much as Tony as far as personality goes. But I think the BBC workouts will be QUITE effective and I look forward to doing them this coming week.

On a sad note, one of my cats has been missing since thursday...:(...he is on the older side and I think he might have gone somewhere to die. I walked the 3.3 acres looking today but found nothing. Yuk...I hate this... x(
