Checking In

Dawn W

Cathlete
Hello,
Finished my last workout for the week so I figured I'd check in early. I know Monday's going to be rough for me. Anyone done with Christmas shopping yet :-rollen ??? I wish I was.

Anyway here's my week. No Yoga in the evenings :-( . The Holidays just get so busy.

Monday: MIS legs only
Tuesday: MIS UB and Abs
Wednesday: CK
Thursday: MIS UB and Abs
Friday: IMAX
Saturday: CM (my first time this was TOUGH :-wow , plus it'll take me a while to get the cheography down - not to mention this takes up more room than I've got for some of the aerobic portions. I have a long narrow area, so I don't run out of room with CK)
Sunday: I will rest tomorrow.

Well everyone have a great week. I know I will. I will be recieving my Xpress DVDs :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy . Should come in shortly after my DVD player does. I found a Samsung DVD player for $160 that is PROGRAMMABLE - YEAH !!!!!

RE: Yep, I'm done!

With Christmas shopping and my Max Rotation!! Today was my last day on this rotation and I already did it, so I'll check-in too! I start my PS rotation tomorrow, and the only down side is my SLA tape is defective. I already email customer service, so hopefully, I'll get a response soon. At least it doesn't go bad until I hit the abs part, so I'll just pop in the abs part from BBA to substitute until the new SLA arrives. Ok, enough gabbing, onto my week!!

MON: BodyMax (I'll miss this tape while I do PS)

TUES: StepMax

WED: CircutMax, UrbanRebounding, and BodyPump (I'm debating between CM and MIS as my one full body day. Any suggestions?)

THURS: PowerMax (another one I'll miss)

FRI: MIS (did it HEAVY and boy am I feeling it!)

SAT: IMAX (I'm going to keep this one in my rotation)

OK, so tomorrow I'll start with PS CST and BBA, after I bake a batch of christmas cookies! I did my M&M christmas cookies today and tomorrow, sugar cookies!!! My favorite!!!
I hope everybody has a great week. And Happy Holidays!! I LOOOOVE Christmas time!!!

I'll join the early check-in

Great weeks Dawn and Aimee!!

Dawn, I agree about CM...there is at least one part that I have to modify or I would run smack dab into the wall x( (ouch!).

Aimee, I think that for a total body workout either MIS or CM would work but you could choose which one you wanted depending on how you feel that particular day (e.g. if you feel like you want a little more cardio and you've had sufficient weight work for the week, go with CM -or- if you've done plenty of cardio and want a tough weight workout, go with MIS)...this is what I do, just go by how my body feels and what I've been doing the rest of the week...just my two cents :) !!

Anyway, on to my week (returned to using the CTX tapes in various combinations along with a few others mixed in):

Sunday - CTX Kickbox; Step and Intervals (doing the warm-ups from each, followed by the cardio from each, and then the strength training/stretch from each)
Monday - Power Circuit
Tuesday - 10-10-10; All Step (same format as on Sunday)
Wednesday - 45 minutes on elliptical machine in AM; Leaner Legs and upper body strength training from CTX: back, biceps/planks/abs in PM
Thursday - Cardio Kicks in AM; upper body strength training from CTX: chest, shoulders/abs, triceps in PM
Friday - MIC
Saturday - Cardio Kicks; planks/abs from Power Circuit

Guess what! My husband suddenly showed some interest in joining me on some of my strength training this week. He only made it through about half of each segment and complained of being very sore for days afterward but said he would keep plugging away. Yea :D !! I've learned not to push when it comes to encouraging exercise...I've told him he can join me whenever he wishes and will let him decide for himself if/when he wants to commit. It's encouraging to hear on the boards when some of you get your DH's involved in working out. It seems like it could be a great bonding opportunity.

Okay, enough babbling. Have a great week everyone,
Lisa :)

Shopping for an Action Figure...

....of CHUCK NORRIS!!!! I check every year when I make my yearly visit to Toys R Us, but they don't have one. They have a JFK GI Joe doll, however (it was placed on the other end of the store from the Barbies. They can't be too careful!;-) Sorry, I couldn't help myself). I did not buy it. I have a small shopping list, and have very little to buy. Mostly gift certificates.

My week:
Sunday- Nothing.
Monday: Meaner legs, plus CTX Chest and Triceps
Tuesday: CTX back and a 30 minute walk/run at the y
Wed.- nothing
Thurs: Run/walk for 50 minutes. I have the most trouble with my feet, and know I had to get new insoles and padded socks.
Friday: Circuit Max with a 50 lb barbell to make my 2nd leg workout. Shopped for the insoles and socks. Spotted a cheap mini-trampoline for Deb H.
Sat: Taebo II, and CTX Shoulders and Biceps. Not a bad week with 2 rest days.

This will be a big week, then I get a week of exercise vacation.

I'm posting a new recipe today, all you junk food junkies! :9 :9

Hi everybody! Just finished MIS and am happy to say that I will be upping my weight next week, especially for legs. Whoopee!!!
All of your weeks look wonderful, as usual. I tried to up my cardio a bit this week, because although I'm feeling stronger than ever, I'd like to get rid of some body fat. I know the muscle mass helps with that, but I've been averaging only 3 cardios a week, and not long ones. So, I'm going to try to maintain at least 4 cardio sessions per week for a while, and see if that helps. blab blab blab blab blab!
Here's my week:

MONDAY: CTX kickbox + CTX back, CTX bis and abs

TUESDAY: Leaner Legs and abs

WEDNESDAY: rest

THURSDAY: Powermax (all of it, modified to lower impact)
CTX chest, CTX shoulders and abs, CTX tris

FRIDAY: Stepworks (first 40 minutes. Knees hurting, so I did it on the floor rather than on the step)

SATURDAY: MIS

SUNDAY: edited 12/3: Incredible 50 minute hike!! Oh, how I love Arizona in the winter, and it was great to be out there moving fast through the desert!!

Have great weeks!
Wendy

I've been reading the forum for many months now, but this is my first check-in. All of you are so motivating, encouraging, helpful and NICE! Most people think I'm crazy cuz I love working out! It's nice to know there are other people like me in the world! I'm a long time exerciser (to way back in the 70's when workouts were on record albums!). Then in the mid 80's I started collecting video's. I think I have about 250 to 300 of them! (Including all the firm videos.) I discovered Cathe in April because I could get a DVD with 3 of her workouts on it (Cardio Hits) so I could mix and match segments and make it as long as I want. I also have MIC, Interval Max, the CTX DVD's and CM and CK DVD. I have become addicted to Cathe and can't wait for more DVD's! Here is my week:

MON: Cardio Kicks (except stretches) and Circuit Max
TUES: Step Works
WED: Leaner Legs plus CTX Back, Chest, and Shoulders
THURS: Kickbox (except arm drills) plus CTX Triceps
FRI: Step Intervals plus CTX Back
SAT: All Step and Leaner Legs (except abs and stretches) plus CTX Triceps and Biceps
SUN: REST

Have a great week everyone!!

I forgot to tell you the Hi-Light of my week! My daughter and son-in-law got to hear the baby's heart beat for the very 1st. time!! Julie was so excited and elated that it sounded so healthy because she has been so sick and having terrible side effects from meds. Just had to share and to make this fitness related, this granny-to-be is working out hard to be able to keep up with our very 1st. grandchild this June. Thanks for letting me gush! Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

my week!

Hi everyone! What great weeks you guys :D It's always so motivating to read everyone's posts on Sunday and realize that there are so many of of vidiots out there committed to healthy living !!!
Dawn-nope, no shopping done :-( I was in the city yesterday and had to look 20 min for a parking spot, I decided to just get what I absolutely couldn't wait for (like a slip for a ball last night :D)
Aimee-you are just so disgustingly efficient ;-) just kidding! I was in the post office the other day and the postmaster said that a lady had just mailed ALL of her Christmas cards, mine will be done in oh, July :D
HB-ROFL-took me a few minutes to get the funny about the JFK doll-was it a MM barbie!!! Good luck on your search!
Wendy-good luck with increasing your cardio :-jumpy
Bev-welcome to the forum! So motivating to hear about someone committed for so long,it's strange in nearly the same breath people as me how I could possibly be so strong/toned/fairly thin and then tease me about "jumping around so much!" I figure if this is my worst addiction (OK maybe M&Ms are)then I'm doing OK
DebbieH-congrats on your grandbaby-I always love finding the heartbeat for the first time and watching the parents expression, esp. when the daddy-to-be gets tears in his eyes! Hope your daughter gets to feeling well!
Dorothy-welcome! Isn't swimming such an awesome toning exercise! I was managing the pool in my hometown and basically lived in the water for 5 years during the summer and the summer I got married they actually had to order my dress a size larger and majorly take in the waist in order to accomodate my huge (ok, relatively huge)traps and lats from butterfly and such powerful swimming :)
Sunday-CHRISTMAS DECORATING! Does dancing to Christmas songs count!
Mon-nada
Tues-Step & intervals & SH Stage 2, chest, and Bryan Kest V1
Wed-CTX kickbox, biceps and Leaner Legs
Thurs-Franny's cardio party hilo + shoulders
Fri-Mindy's slamming sports cardio + triceps and back
Sat-cardio kicks + sculpted hips buns and thighs
I love my new sunrise alarm clock! I've managed to get in THREE morning workouts! :)
have a wonderful week! off to church for me!
:-jumpy julie :-jumpy

RE: my week!

I love the way you all are mixing and matching the tapes. The variety and fun is endless, isn't it? I'm alternating the ps series with ctx and getting great results!! I try to do abs 3 times a week and have never seen results like this before. Thank you Cathe. Thumbs up(way up) for the new tapes!! Here is my week:

Mon- bis, tris, shoulders and abs from CTX

Tue- PS chest, CTX back and ALL Step cardio am, leaner legs pm

Wed- rest day

Thur- Imax, LL abs section

Fri- Circuitmax

Sat- back and biceps (CTX), PSCST, cardio combo:1st section stepworks, 2nd section powermax ending with abs from PS BB. This was my Cathe marathon day and it felt good!!

Sun- I plan on doing 10-10-10 and kickbox cardio with MIS legs but I may tweak it somewhat. Have a great week everyone!!

hey, Debbie!

I think I'll edit my check-in--I knew after I read it that it might be confusing :) I did Stepworks on the floor with no step bench, because my knees bother me when I do too much stepping. But I also really enjoy doing it that way--it's much lighter cardio-wise, but still a good workout. Cathe should consider doing her light day tape like that--just design a step workout but do it on the floor!
Sooo exciting about your daughter and her little wee one! My mom is just begging us all to have kids ;-)
Were those the Grove City PA malls? I lived about two miles away from Grove City Pennsylvania when I was a kid!!
Great week for you as usual :)
Wendy

Debbie, Congraduations

How exciting!!!!! I know you won't have any problem keeping up with your grandchild.
Hope things start getting better for Julie

RE: my week!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share my week again. :D Hope everybody is doing great and staying fit. From the look of those workouts you are doing I would say everybody is fit, huh? Here's my week!

MONDAY: Step and Intervals/chest.
TUESDAY: MIS without chest.
WEDNESDAY:Step Max
THURSDAY: Rest, well actually Christmas stuff.
FRIDAY: Step Heat and MIS just legs and chest
SATURDAY: MIS, from back to the end.

My workouts seem a little "plain" compared to everyone elses.:-(
Oh well, I am seeing results with MIS. I have only been serious with weights since the summer and between CTX series and the PS series and MIS I am seeing results. I love to feel strong. Thanks for letting me share!!! :D

Kelly

RE: Hey Debbie H !!

I got great results with the max rotation, until Thanksgiving! I was really watching what I ate and I lost some bodyfat. Then Turkey Day struck and POOF!! I haven't eaten right since! I kept the the same workout regime, and I am sure that helped, but I definately see a diffence than where I was just two weeks ago. Oh well, tis' the season!! The rotation was fun and challenging and that was the biggest point, right? Ok there dear, enjoy your week, and be healthy!!

Aimee

Watch out! Killer week!!!

LOL....NOT!

My week consisted of 33 minutes of Step Works which I managed to get in today...mainly because I am getting annoyed:-mad with myself for letting this slump continue and figured I had better do something about it!

Trevor, I popped in some Vicki Gum (extra strong peppermint gum) right before the workout...seemed to help;-)

Silly!...

Anyone doing Cathe workouts is not doing "plain" workouts! And as someone wisely posted to me when I first started checking in--don't compare yourself to anyone else! It's not a competition :) :) :)
Your week looks great, Kelly! How do you like Step Max and Step Heat? I don't have either of those.
Wendy

RE: Silly!...

LAST EDITED ON Dec-03-00 AT 06:09PM (Est)[p]Wendy,

I love Step Heat and Step Max. Lots of fun! Of course, all of Cathe's workouts are fun. I kind of use these for days that I want a little easier time of it. It seems to me that Cathe's videos get harder the more she makes. Maybe that's just me and that is fine by me. I want to improve and work harder.

I guess I didn't really mean to compare myself because I am proud of where I've been and where I am now. I just want to keep getting stronger and healthier. With Cathe's help I have lost almost 40 pounds and plan on a few more and I am in the best shape of my life. I appreciate the encouragement you all give to me even though it may not be directed to me personnally because I have just started posting. You do encourage and uplift me daily. Thanks!!!

Kelly

As for me, this cold weather up here has really gotten me battling me depression. I **HATE** cold weather...hate wearing coats and having to totally layer up just to go outside for milk! It just makes me grouchy...

Anyway, enough complaining...here's my week..

Monday: Nothing - Nada - Zilch
Tuesday: Heavy Lifting with Free Weights/Smith Machine for Back and Chest; CTX Shoulders; Abs
Wednesday: CTX Biceps/Triceps; 30 minutes of CIA 9907 (first time doing it)
Thursday: Body Max
Friday: TaeBo 3
Saturday: CTX Kickbox plus Biceps and Abs
Sunday: Feeling low because of bad weather...didn't want to do ANYTHING!

I've always been like this in the winter, just kind of trudge through it, and wait "ever so patiently" for the Spring...

Happy week everyone!

Terri
