Congratulations, Trevor!
I am so thrilled for you! It's true what they say about childbirth -- it hurts worse than plie squats with a 200 pound barbell, but as soon as it's over, all you remember are the magical parts. I am really happy for your new, bigger family and your beautiful little boy. Congrats on that first poop, too!
Well, I've pretty much stopped checking in over here. I already check in regularly on VF and I just don't seem to have the time to visit both forums regularly. So --
Just for old times sake, I'll do a semi- check-in here. As in -- I don't remember WHAT the heck I did last week, but here are a few highlights of the last month or so.
(1) Took a kickboxing class with heavy bags and loved it. I ALWAYS find kickboxing boring, although I like the live classes much more than the videos. (Even Cathe's kboxing videos, sorry to say.) But punching and kicking with a live partner and a heavy bag made a huge difference, I can't wait to do it again. Although I think I may have to invest in some shin guards, since my legs are black and blue, with broken skin here and there too. Ouch!
(2) Am still using the CTX videos and Circuit Max A LOT. I love having the choices between PS, CTX and MIS for strength. I now have a free weight workout for any time limit, any energy limit. It's great.
(3) I'm still doing a lot of Christi Taylor stuff. And I took a live Christi T class over in Bethesda about a week ago and had a ball.
(4) Still running a lot. I've been thrilled to have recently acquired a running partner who runs about my speed and distance. Unfortunately, after about 3 times running my favorite lake trail with me, he just told me his knees can't take it any more. So I'm going to keep running with him when I can, but we'll be doing more road running and less trails. I still plan to get some trail runs in.
That's all folks! I'm very rejuvenated in 2001. Something in me just went, "I am woman, hear me roar" and I feel as if nothing can keep me from loving my workouts this year. Life is good and I'm so grateful that I can keep plugging away at this stuff for another year.
