Check-in 2/03/2001 a little early

Hi April!

Glad to have you join us! You are going to be thrilled with the tapes you chose. They are all wonderful. Good thinking on the other tapes you want. Besides, you have plenty to keep you busy for awhile til the new ones come out. Let us know what you think after you try your new tapes. Are you going to be camped out on your front porch waiting to attack the UPS man tomorrow? Looking forward to "seeing" you around. Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

RE: Hi Lorrie!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-04-01 AT 10:17PM (Est)[p]Hello Again Debbie!

I think I mentioned before that my sis's name is Debbie - but she lives in VT :) . I missed the forum so much! I didn't have access to a computer since mid-December. I used to always check in on my breaks at work but then my boss died so I had to get another job (which I am enjoying so much more than the old one). I FINALLY got a pc at home so now I can keep up with everyone again :D .

Glad to hear your daughter has her appetite back. Such an exciting time for your family. Keep us posted!

I started my "endurance" rotation today with BodyMax. Whew, I forgot how much endurance this tape requires to do the whole thing straight thru! But it's a fun one. Good "talking" to you again. Have fun PSing! :)

RE: WOW some great workouts everyone

I got back this afternoon and finally checked everyone's check-in. Sounds like a lot of sickness is going around everywhere. Well, the last two kids got sick while I was gone yesterday and today. Thanks for all your wishes and vibes to keep me and my husband healthy. Luckily, I rarely get sick so I can be the nurse.

Honeybunch, I like your tip about fiber. I sure I don't get enough. Isn't about 20g recommended? I too would like to shed maybe 5 lbs. and I absolutely love popcorn and eat it often. I usually make my own though which probably makes a difference calorie-wise. We usually have some in a big tupperware bowl to munch on when I feel like a snack. I am really going to try to eat "clean" and see if that makes a difference. I just like sweets too much.

I didn't take very good notes about everyone's check-in but welcome new check-in's!

Those starting new rotations - go get 'em!!

Erica, I think you are the lone injured = take care of yourself. I couldn't imagine riding a bike with a fractured tailbone.

Kelly hang in there with the 2 year old and my advice don't let them give up naps until kdg. Mine all did and it helps keep mom's sanity.

Well, I had a late night and U am ready to hit the sack. By the way my retreat was a scrapbooking retreat. I love to preserve our family picures in the albums with all the fun stamps, stickers, designs, etc. They will be cherished by everyone for a long time.

Have a great week everyone!!

Me Again!

Yes, I do remember you having a sis named Debbie! How funny. Glad you got your own computer at home. It sure makes it easier to catch up with everyone when you can do it on your own time. Sorry to hear about your old boss(I remember you posting about that sometime ago) but happy to hear that you like your new job. Good hearing from you and now I need to go dig out BodyMax for this week!! Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

RE: Checking in

I started checking in last week and now I have to quit for a few weeks. I did Step Heat after a long day working and I ended up with a very sore back. It was sore before I even did the tape but by the time I got to the abs it was very uncomfortable. I also have a pinched nerve. I have decided to take some time off. I am going on a 2 week trip in a week so I think I'll take it easy and maybe just do some stretching till I get home again. I tried to find Joy of Yoga and couldn't, and I'll maybe get the Ali tape again. You guys have really convinced me to give Yoga a try! Then I'll start up stepping slowly again with very little height to the stepping. I'm sure going to miss working out but as Arnold said 'I'll be back'.

Hey Lynn!

So glad you were able to escape that bug going around. Glad you had a good time at your retreat. My daughter loves to scrapbook. She has made some beautiful ones. I wish I was as organized! Good luck taking care of your lil' sick ones. Have a good week. Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

Re: Bread and butter....how about WHOLE WHEAT bread and JELLY???? Raspberry preserves have seeds and for-real fiber!!!! So do strawberries. Smuckers has a good low-sugar strawberry preserve. Try it sometime!!! Nearly everything can be tweaked into a higher fiber version.

Sometime I'll post a recipe I had in an OLD bean cookbook (early seventies) for "Bean Medley." It was good enough for me to eat for lunch all last week! :9

RE: Hi Aimee!

Isn't it a great feeling? I had wondered if you did anymore yoga. If you get a chance today let me know what you think after doing her tape. I have fun with it, hopefully you will too! Ok, gota go!!

Hi ladies!!
I hope all of the sick ones get well real soon!! It's definitely going around.....this was my first year with a flu shot and I have been lucky to this point except for a sinus infection, knock on wood!!
Debbie -- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you on your grandchild sighting, you must be thrilled. :)

We are getting ready to take Brandon for his checkup at the pediatrician so I need to type quickly:
My week--
Mon. -- IMAX
Tues. -- staggered thru one of my modified "spur of the moment" step workouts for 30 mins. Brandon was cranky the night before so sleep was rare!! Thought I might fall asleep doing lunges!!
Wed. -- nothing
Thurs. -- nothing
Friday -- Bodymax
Sat. -- extra leg work -- 6 sets of step lunges with 50 lb. dumbbells
Sun. -- 30 min. run thru the neighborhood......didnt have to wrestle any dogs either!! :)
I have posted some pics of Brandon at webshots.com but I have made it a private one, which means I will have to "invite" friends via email in order to allow them to view it. I consider everyone on this site my "fitness friends" so if anyone is interested just give me your email addy.
Have a super charged, healthy, fit, and happy week everyone!!
Trevor :) :-jumpy

RE: Hi again Debbie

Juat read your note about seeing your grandbaby's sonogram. They are really neat and I have video's of all my kids. But June 3rd is my birthday so push your daughter to go three days early! Just kidding.
I am glad she is feeling better and eating. Pregnancy affects women so differently and with each one too. The miracle at the end is worth every sick day though.

Have a great week!

Lynn W

Hey Trevor!

Thanks, we are VERY excited! Great week, IMax, BodyMax, not to mention lunges with 50 pound dumbbells!! Whew! I would love to see your new pix you posted. Thanks for sharing with us! ([email protected]) Can't wait to see your lil' pumpkin . Have a good week and try to catch a nap sometime. Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

Good 4 U!!

All-Step two times this week? I have failed to get the choreography down in that one. Hmmm, maybe I need to challenge myself again. Hope the big snowstorm missed you! Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)

RE: Hi April!

Thanks for the Welcome Debbie!

I had my order sent to where my DH works because the UPS man doesn't like to come down our VERY LONG driveway in the winter and I didn't know what kind of shape it would be in today -ice, snow, slush. I have already called DH to remind him to be sure to look for my package and I am sure I will call a couple more times just to be sure he gets it! :)

Some sort of hell week

Sorry to be so whiny, but last week was not a banner week, and this week, all sorts of things personally and professionally just fell apart. Have a heavy work schedule this week--I'm looking forward to it. Leading a couple dozen fifth-graders through the woods takes all my attention. ;-) No time to dwell on the bad stuff.

SUNDAY--FIRM Maximum Body Sculpting; M&F Hers ball workout: movement exercises
MONDAY: Step Max w/u & sec. 1; Real Fitness Ultimate Step sec. 3 & c/d; M&F Hers ball workout: stabilization exercises
TUESDAY: back seized up :-mad – 45 min. walk
WEDNESDAY: back still killing me -- mall walk
THURSDAY: 1.5 hr. hiking at work
FRIDAY: 2 hr. hiking at work
SATURDAY: 10-10-10 w/u and kickbox; MIS Upper Body
SUNDAY: snowshoeing (3 mi., 2 hrs.) at Rocky Mountain National Park

Looking forward to more heavy lifting with MIS and maybe a good kickboxing workout. I need some tension release! Thank goodness we have Cathe--there are some days when she's the only one saying "you can do it, hang in there, keep going ..." I just realized that's probably why I enjoy videos more than going to the gym by myself--I need that encouragement! Thanks Cathe!

:) Gretchen

Hey, Debbie!

The best thing about "Erin's treadmill workout" is that it's repeatable, since I was programming the treadmill at the time ( for Cathe's workout, I THOUGHT ). :) I don't know how other people's work, but ours you put in a "learn" mode, and then it records the inclination and speed changes as you make them. SO the only way to program a workout is to DO the workout. Sneaky, huh? :)

Thanks for the "count" on those hamstring things. Maybe a countdown will help me get through them too. I'll report back on that next week. ;-)

Have a great day!

Erin
