Cheating OK?

Hi Cathe, This morning I did GS BSB (which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE). When I got to the Concentration curls I had difficulty when we got to the point to go halfway and hold, then up to the top. What I had to do a few times was assist with the opposite hand to be able to complete the exercise.

My question is this; should I lower my weight from 15 lbs. to 12 lbs. to be able to complete without any assistance and work my up using Platemates (to increase by 1¼ lb. increments) OR is assisting the lift ok to do?

Assisting to lift is great, especially if you do the negative on your own (it's a form of "negative training"). It's possible to do this because you're stronger on the negative contraction than on a positive contraction. I had to do this on the last set of cross-body tricep presses in Gym Style chest/triceps.
